Wow seems like it's been hard times for everyone eh? Well at least we've got each other for when times get hard like this right? Seriously though it just means good things have got to be coming soon.
Hi ren good to see your doing well.

If I could just get past "What if I could use this for.....", I might get through my downsizing efforts faster. Bleh. Basically all I'm keeping are my Gaia OC items (of course) and anything that can be used for a fairy/mage/mermaid/maybe elf avatar. Rest of it has to go (yes, even magical girl stuff has to go). So, check my store (can access it from my profile) to see if you want anything. Never know what will pop up. I've got a big folder of avis saved on a flash drive, and I'll have to go through and delete most of them, but that's kinda the point behind the invo overhaul. Turns out the old saying that less is more is actually true. sweatdrop The "What if" thing is kinda why I have so much craft junk taking over my room irl as well. I get tons of great ideas, but then I buy so much stuff that it's super overwhelming and I never get my projects done. That'll be item one on the agenda for my first week of unemployment. But, I've still got two weeks to go before that happens yet...........for now ninja

It took over a month of waiting but after seventeen years my mother's sister is finally free of the disease that claimed her memory and her life. The visitation will be on Friday and the funeral on Saturday. Time to get together my funeral gear and figure out sandwiches for Friday. Next week after we mourn her passing I'll throw out the challenge to my family members to not skip out on this year's Alzheimer's walk. There's no excuse this year.

Okay so good news bad news good news bad news here for anyone still out there looking at this place. Good news Irma wasn't a Cat 4 when she slammed into our city in Florida. Bad news the power is still out at our house. Good news there was no flooding in the houses. Bad news a tree fell and busted our pool cage. So here's where it stands down there. Power is out until September 22 at the latest. There are lines down in the neighborhood. Gas has not come back to 100 percent in the city yet let alone most of the state. So until we know there's power and gas my folks won't be going down to Florida for quite a while.

Yikes! That is a bit of bad news, but at least there was good news and that you are unharmed by the hurricane.

Wait, were you in Florida at the time? o:
I'm glad it seems like the houses didn't have much damage, if at all! That's insane about the power though. With all the downed lines and potentially damaged equipment I'm surprised they could even say they'd get anything restored by this coming Friday. For sure those utility workers are going at it nonstop...

No we weren't down there when it hit. My niece on the other hand got the last flight out of Tallahassee that Sunday when Florida State announced school was closed until this past Friday. As her sister put it she was pretty freaked out about the whole situation even if it wasn't going to be a hurricane when it got there. She's on her way back to school today. So yeah, we have a very good neighborhood association and club down there that's been keeping us up to date on what's going on with the neighborhood. Plus, I've been keeping up to date with the local news and one of the local businesses down there as to where things stand.

*heavy sigh*

Man, life has been getting to everyone, yes? Myself, I've been running about, dealing with stress... because I'm a worrywart.

Dear Cel: Yes, you were right. The singing went fine... well, after my knees stopped shaking on stage, of course. xd

Also found out that my family tree is much bigger than I thought. Long story short, my uncle (my mom's brother) told us about an extended family tree that we don't know about. Basically, it wasn't just my late grandfather that was boinking ladies all over the place... but HIS father was doing the same thing!

So now my family tree's all tilted. Yippee. I dealt with the news by... eating a lot. A LOT. So that's what stress eating feels like. Yikes.

In other snarky news, Pookie and I ended up running into the story mode for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (or as I call it, InFUNCTIONite)... the story sucks. Base game is sixty bucks. Deluxe edition (game and season pass) is NINETY bucks. I'm not paying ninety bucks for some damn recycled assets, you hear me?

It gets worse. Collector's edition (that's the game, season pass, and the Infinity Stones along with figurines of Mega Man X, Chun-Li, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man)... IS TWO. HUNDRED. DOLLARS.

The Infinity Stones... are just brightly colored plastic easter eggs... THAT HAVE LIGHTS IN THEM. FREAKIN' WHOO.

(edit: AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS GAME HAS *FREAKIN' DRM* ON THE DAY OF RELEASE. MMPH. This won't end well...)

Glad that my grumpy ranting trait is still there, so we're almost back to (ab)normal.

*drowns sorrows in tea*

Oh, wait. THE HOT WATER MACHINE THAT WE USE FOR TEA FRIGGIN' BROKE LAST WEEK! So you mean that I have to use plebian stuff like... A TEA KETTLE? And WAIT for the water to heat up?! xp

Oh jeez... So glad she got out in time! I would've been freaked too. Then again, we're spooked by a measly inch of rain over here. lol
Glad to hear that things weren't so bad for ya. Hopefully the earth can stop quaking on this side of the Pacific plate.
