"I may be able to go to Blackstone as Eric Monte. Eric has a long record so I could easily make up a reason for him to be looking into a possibly criminal lab." Eric was one of the Count's favorite aliases. He had used Eric so any times for so many transactions that the man had some background in just about every crime. fortunately no one ever looked deep enough to see that every crime Eric had been part of had at some point gone wrong. Having determined that much Edmond text Carla with his phone.

The special order would make life a lot easier. Edmond always had a mask with him but he could only take the bow and quiver so many places. His order would be easy to hide on his body at all times and did not have to be as lethal as a knife. Having sent the text Edmond returned his attention to Emily. "Is there anything else I should know?"

This is Eric. Do you have any updates on when my specialized tool will be ready? I may be needing the prototype soon if it is not completely done.

"And who is have wicked thoughts now?" the fiery mutant teased standing up, then rolled her eyes skyward, "I don't believe I'm doing this... Alright, you win. But... If I ever stop and say 'no', I mean it." With that 'ultimatum', Angelica leaned in practically breathing in Jason's face.

And I will have an omelet with ham, green peppers, cheese and tomatoes. hashbrowns on the side with an English muffin. Black coffee for my friend and iced tea for myself." The hoodied goth handed the menus back to the waitress, who then disappeared into the kitchen.

Turning back to her partner, "So, I assume we'll get some sleep after eating, then get ready for a night tour?"

"Lets see..." Emily began, trying to think of anything that might help Edmond have a better meeting with Blackstone. "Be respectful, pay him a compliment or two without sounding like you're trying to suck up to him. He tends to be a bit more open to conversation if his ego's been stroked a little. Either sound like you need his help and know he'd be knowledgeable, or that Blackstone himself should have reason for this to be investigated. He can be rather charitable with helping others, but if its something that could be criminally tied to him, well you can understand he doesn't like it." she said.

"If he asks how you came by the information, I wouldn't say that you paid a visit there personally. I'm not sure I'd say anything about Cobblepot's files either. That would likely make him want to pay the Lounge a visit to see just how many files Cobblepot has on him. He'd either get angry and try to shut things down, or try to get on Cobblepot's side so he'd have regular information on what he needed." she said, then thought for a moment. "It shouldn't be too hard to think of an excuse though. If super heroes are missing because of this organization, then there should be some easy excuse." she said, then turned around to face Edmond.

"His files say that he has access to metahuman powers. If he made it here with his belongings, then I'll warn you that he should be considered armed and dangerous when you go to meet him. I doubt he'll attack you unless you outright anger him. Even then he may just throw you out of the building. He has a good temperament until he's pushed. Then... he looses control of his anger. It's in your best interest to play nice with him for information any way, so I don't see his use of powers being a problem unless something out of the blue happens." she said. "He's also been known to hire metahuman body guards. Most of whom came from MOS. He may have employed some super powers in this world to follow him around or protect what's his."

As she spoke, Edmond's phone buzzed with a quick reply from Carla.
Prototype should be done by morning. Afternoon if you need to take it for a test run so I can make sure it's settled right.

Meanwhile the monitors Edmond had keeping an eye out for Blackstone or the Joker finally caught something. It was far off, in the very corner of the screen towards an old magic shop on the outskirts of Gotham. A little girl with a rather familiar shade of red hair and red eyes appeared on the screen. She walked in view of the corner of the camera, then turned and looked back at something off screen. The Lounge also had a brief glimpse of a target. Blackstone, or someone looking very close to his image from the files, stepped out of the Lounge and walked towards a waiting car. He bent down at the window and spoke to the driver, motioned towards the street, then moved back around and inside the Lounge.

"During my visit with Cobblepot I kept stringing together a series of lies and it worked out in the end. I don't think Blackstone will make it much more difficult than Cobblepot did. However if he does the information you have given me will be very useful. Thank you." Edmond may have seemed a little dismissive but so far anytime he had gone out as Eric Monte nothing had gone wrong for him. Things may have become complicated but Edmond was a talented liar and could talk his way out of most nonviolent situations, he could fight his way out of the rest. It was then that he looked at the response Carla had given him before he responded.

Good to know. Thank you.

Having settled the case of when he could get his customized weapon Edmond looked back up at Emily to say something but his focus was redirected when his computer let out a beeping noise. Edmond turned his head to look at his computer screen as two specific camera angles magnified. One was outside the Lounge and the other was outside and old magic shop. He first looked at the footage near the Lounge. The man outside did look like Blackstone but Edmond didn't have enough experience with the man to be certain so he motioned for Emily to come and look at it. Then Edmond turned his attention to the footage near the old magic shop. He was confused at first and then slightly angry, and then confused again. the last time he had seen a Rosie she had been in crime alley. He knew this couldn't be the same Rosie which meant another Rosie was lurking around the Gotham outskirts. It was safe to assume that in any following discussion, Edmond would lean towards investigating the Rosie sighting. To be fair he was not currently thinking about the fact that a man who had previously killed Emily was currently at her workplace. Edmond was thinking about promises he had made.

Emily walked up to the monitors once he motioned to her and turned her attention onto the screen. She frowned once she got a good look at the man's bearded face. There was little mistaking Blackstone's haircut or tailored suits. Or the usual stern look on his face. It was funny how closely he and Vandal looked alike, and yet how different they both were.

As she watched the monitor, a shiver went down her spine. She sighed and stepped away from the screens. "That's Blackstone." she replied as she turned away. "It's a good thing I wasn't planning on going back to the Lounge tonight. What a perfect ending to the night that would be. Running into my old "boss" and explaining how we knew each other to Cobblepot." she mused to herself.

Her eyes fell on the window as she tried to gather her thoughts. And for a brief moment, her mind went elsewhere. Another time, another place... another situation all together. She shivered again and rubbed her wrists instinctively. "So... we know he won't be hard to find at least." she said, trying to focus again.

"Well speaking with him is a little more difficult now." Edmond said absent minded way as he walked across the room to one of the wall panels and slid it open. On this wall hung all the masks he had. Needless to say the wall was full. He always kept different looking masks around so that he would never be specifically tied to one. A hero was much harder to track when you didn't have a great idea of what he would often look like. Few of them seemed to notice that. He quickly pulled an all black expressionless face mask from the shelf, it was a little intimidating, and he set it next to his white one from earlier in the night. Then he grabbed his quiver and began strapping it back on. "Which mask should I wear?" He asked before pushing each mask forward slightly. He did not realize that he had not made it clear why he was preparing to go out as the Count but that was because he was unaware that it mattered. His mind was not exactly on blackstone.

Jason smirked, as his lips were centimeters away from hers. "Somehow I get the feeling you're just trying to seem less interested in me as I am in you." He was never one to toy with a girl, but he might just have to make an exception for this one.... maybe...

he slid his hands down her sides until they reached her hips. "But you see, I've seen how you looked at me. And I'm no love doctor, but I can tell when a girl's face turns red." He smiled.

Pulling her in by her hips, he made his move and connected his lips with hers for a kiss.... yeah never mind about the whole toying thing. Jason's temptations got the better of him tonight, as they always do.

"That's the plan. Amazing after the drive and all you're still awake."

Matt waited in silence with the goth until the meal and drinks arrived on a long and thin tray with the paint somewhat peeled off.

Matt began gathering their stuff off of the tray. He handed Skuld her food and drink and he took his.

He began to eat with the lamest looking act of a blind man trying to put food in his mouth.
"Cross your fingers that nobody finds anything wrong with us. I haven't eaten out in a long time, kinda rusty with public eating."

"I suppose that depends on what sort of outing you're going to take." Emily replied, turning her full focus onto the mask. Blackstone isn't easily intimidated, and I'm not sure an expressionless mask will make a difference to him. If you're going out for something else, it will depend on... who you're seeing." she replied. She had noticed that he had another security screen up, and all she seen was a child in the corner of the screen. She had no idea what sort of other mission Edmond was on, or if the child had anything to do with it. But... something scary like that isn't something she would recommend with a child.

"Oh, the mask isn't for intimidation I just like changing masks every once in a while. Keeps everyone guessing. The black one has a better record stopping bullets but the white was is pretty wood with sharp object deflection. Bullets seem to crack it though. Probably a design flaw." Edmond explained as he looked at the two masks. He did see Emily's point, the black one was a lot creepier than the white. Maybe that would be problematic with Rosie, then again it would keep the Joker from immediately recognizing him. The fact he was using arrows would at some point give him away. Unless the clown was just insane. Then he may think Gotham was overrun with archers which probably would be good in the long run. Still the mask was creepy. Edmond then looked up at Emily. "Blackstone being in the Lounge only makes him harder to reach because Eric Monte has been there before. Eric has gone through al of the security and set a meeting with Cobblepot. Going unnoticed will be difficult." After explaining that Edmond picked up both the masks and shrugged before setting them back on the table. He was allowing his mind to wander now for reasons he did not know everything just seemed a little funny at the moment and he couldn't explain why. "I'm surprised at how well you are taking the news that a man who killed you is currently at your workplace."

Emily let a nervous laugh escape her as she turned and moved towards the edge of Edmond's desk. "I... I don't know. Maybe my brain is just reeling from all of tonight's events. Enough that this isn't really hitting me yet." she said as she sat down on the edge of his desk. She straightened out the bottom of her white dress and crossed her arms. "The only thing I should really worry about is having to run into him there while I'm at work." she said. Then she paused for a long moment to think.

"I... I don't know how to explain it. He's not that bad of a person unless you get in his way." she began. "He did do a lot of good in our world, was really good to his employees. Especially good if he liked them." she added, mumbling the last bit. As though she knew from experience. "I was supposed to keep an eye on him and his business to report if he did anything my organization would consider illegal and able to hold up in court. A super hero group I became friends with had crossed him. More specifically two of it's members were involuntarily responsible for his wife's murder. He took it upon himself to get revenge on them. He is.... fearsome when he's angry." she said.

Then she shifted uneasily and looked back at the window. "Sapphire, the girl in the file, was captured after he uncovered her identity. He forced her to work for him, and eventually cohersed her into marrying him. A way to ensure that she wouldn't be leaving him, and cause as much pain as he could to the other person he held responsible for his former wife's death." she explained. "She... he was a very easy person to like when he wasn't trying to ruin someone. He had apparently found out that I was working for the NSHU a long time ago, but let it be because he liked me. I wasn't actively trying to get into his business. But..." she began, then looked away from the window. "Some people came to try and "rescue" Sapphire. In a way that angered Blackstone. They made the mistake of doing so in his own home, and he tried to kill them. One of them was... someone I was very close to. I couldn't let him just kill her, so I tried to save her. He was already angry, and my interference just made him loose control. He managed to toss her through the window. I grabbed her just in time and tried to pull her back in. He... took one of his axes off the wall and made sure I dropped her. Then turned his attention on me. I had no hands to defend myself. He broke my back. And tried to hit me in the head with a broken statue. Last thing I remember was watching the sharp end of it come down on my face, then I blacked out. Woke up in my bed, unable to move and blind in one eye. After a few hours I was able to get up and walk around. I found Gotham outside my window. My city was gone, I had no idea where I was, and I couldn't contact anyone. They didn't exist here." she said.

Edmond nodded slowly as she spoke. He was fully able to understand the feeling of calm before you realized just how bad everything really was. It was a horrible feeling but at least she had hope that Blackstone wouldn't be violent towards her. Edmond wasn't really one to look on the bright side ever but for her sake he did hope Blackstone was peaceful at the moment. As Emily proceeded to explain exactly what had occurred that left her in the position she was in now Edmond sat down in his chair again, he wouldn't be sitting for long but he didn't realize that yet. A certain small gesture had not popped into his mind just yet. Once Emily had finished speaking Edmond sat in silence to think over what she had said. Blackstone didn't seem like a bad man. He seemed like a man who had been pushed over the edge. Then again evil was a matter of perspective everything was. "I am sorry for everything you have lost Emily. I really am. I understand the feeling you get when you loose a friend. I understand what you might be going through. The feeling of one day waking up in some place, with little knowledge of how you got there or what you would do. I promised I would help you find your friend if I can and I keep my promises. It's probably what got me into the mess I am in. Regardless when it does hit you, that all of this is happening, you can talk to me if you need to. In the mean time," Edmond stood up and walked over to the panel on the wall that hid his masks, he slid it open then turned to Emily. "If you don't want to run into him at work I have a wide variety of facial accessories to avoid recognition. I also have an eye patch but I will be needing that."

Emily watched as Edmond moved towards his hidden collection of masks with a small frown on her face. It hadn't all sank in yet, really. With everything that had happened tonight, including the very recent events with Vandal, her head was still spinning. It probably would hit her once she had a good night's sleep. When she got up and prepared to head back to the Lounge to report for work. Then needing to think of a good excuse for the previous night without getting her or Vandal in trouble. Ask what she needed to ask about who and what. Finding a way to plant the device Vandal had given her to hack into Cobblepot's computers. Which would then probably lead to a small bout of self loathing for allowing what happened earlier to actually happen. Then Blackstone... the files on Sapphire..

Emily turned her thoughts back to Edmond as he told her about his masks. She paused for a moment in thought, then smiled. "Thank you, but I doubt I'll be able to wear much without Cobblepot asking questions. I imagine he'll be wanting to speak with me as soon as I get back to the Lounge tomorrow to talk about what happened with Vandal and my back. I'm not stationed in the Lounge as much as I am upstairs in the restricted areas. I shouldn't have too much worry of running into Blackstone. And if I do... I'll tough it out. At worst I'll have to explain myself to Cobblepot about him. At absolute worst the guards will be sent over to escort Blackstone out and I'll be confined to the office until Cobblepot can get me safely home." she said. Then she paused a moment again.

"Thank you though. I appreciate it. I really do."

Edmond's idea of the worse possible think was fairly different than Emily's. She seemed to think that Cobblepot would without a doubt protect her. In Edmond's mind, the worse thing that could happen would be Cobblepot giving Emily to Blackstone. Then again she had been working for that penguin of a man for far longer than Edmond had known him. She probably had a better grasp on what could happen. With that in mind Edmond placed the black mask back inside and shut the panel. He had chosen to wear the white mask because that was the one the Rosie in Crime Alley had seen. If he was bringing her bother back it was probably better that he looked the same as he had before. Edmond then returned to his desk and sat down. "I do what I can to help." His words came out as a sort of mumble as he looked at the screens again.
