Batsu stopped training altogether when Shinzu said "we'll help you out". A menacing glare came from the boy and shot daggers straight into Shinzu''s soul. The boy didn't say anything. The look he gave said everything about how insulted he was about Shinzu volunteering his services. Needless to say that he was not going to cooperate. After all, Masaraku was so damn content within herself. What would be the point in helping? If anything, he wanted to see the girl fail... miserably. 1d20 [2] + Taijutsu [16] + Help bonus [2] = 20 vs. 26 [fail]Quote: Style: Capoeira

Masaraku muscled her way towards Batsu. "You can't learn to scrap if you don't have an opponent. Shadowboxing is great for form, but when you create your opponents moves in your head you will always win." She created a water clone beside her. "If you want to actually be good in a fight with a fighting style you should fight an opponent of some kind. My clone should due just fine I would think. If you're game." She took a perfect kendo stance and then added, "If not, I will just continue to train on my own, seeing as you don't want my help, and I obviously don't know jack squat about being worth a s**t in a fight. Then we can spar afterwards, I can win again, and this cycle of perpetual hatred continues." She raised her blade and clashed it against the clone's blade. "Or you know, you could grow up and see that I am trying to be nice and maybe you know, not spit in my face when I offer to help you."
(+2 to Batsu. (Pretty sure that you can only assist 1 at a time guys.) -------------------------- Roll[11]+Skill[30]=41 SUCCESS Nodachi Training: 2/10 DC = 40 Ninja Weapons (Nodachi) Skill = 30

Shinzu stayed back for a moment, focused entirely upon the second gate, at least for now. Ah there was something, again in his brain, opposite the first gate. To Shinzu that meant the gate was there, but there was no saying for sure, he'd more time before he determine it for sure. At this rate though... Time didn't really appear to be on his side. "She does speak the truth Batsu, if only slightly you will need to practice with somebody. Personally though I think it's too soon, you are only just learning to combine your acrobatics with punches and kicks. If you go now, before you trully understand the style, you will fall back into your habit of random attacks. Remind me again how well that served you in our last spar?" Shinzu said addressing Batsu, before turning his gaze upon Masaraku. "As for you, Batsu is learning Taijutsu under me, and as I just told him sparring with your clone right now would be fruitless. He would leave the half learned style behind. Though you are good with a sword and jutsu, in a straight up taijutsu fight, you are no better off then Batsu. I remind you that I am the authority on Taijutsu in our squad." Roll (17) + 25 = 42 vs 35 2/10 (+2 to next roll for you both) (Until further notice you can only add +2 to roll, simply because it's due to actual rank, and not level. I'll take this up with the crew however and get things more straightened out.

Batsu turned his attention to Masaraku and sighed a bit. "Know this Masaraku, I am not the type to rush into things. I try to take my time and perfect my craft before using it... otherwise my training will be in vain. I could end up hurting myself and that causes me to go back and waste even more time working when I could have done it right the first time. So I refuse your offer for now. Thanks though." The boy then turned his focus away from the Hoshigaki girl and went back to his shadowboxing. 1d20 [17] + Taijutsu [16] + Help bonus [2] = 35 vs. 26 [pass]Quote: Style: Capoeira

Masarku rolled her eyes, "Pfft, no need to repeat the same message three times boys," She cupped her hand behind her ear and displayed it, "I can hear just fine. I get it though. I'll just go back to training alone I guess. I will leave you two to your gentlemen's time." She walked over to a wooden dummy and lined up her blade, hitting it hard and denting the wood.
She looked back at the two, mentally absorbing their pictures and putting them onto the dummy in her mind as she struck another blow to the dummies neck, causing the blade to splinter and crack in two. She just dropped it and grabbed another nodochi boken from the rack, not looking at Batsu or Shinzu as she did so. She thought about it for a moment. This was the last one ... she then spoke out loud, "Hey Shinzu, relax the body, the mind will follow, and then your chakra will flow better. You forget that I am the chakra expert of the group too." She picked up her new blade and walked back to the dummy. (+2 Shinzu) -------------------------- Roll[11]+Skill[30]=41 SUCCESS Nodachi Training: 3/10 DC = 40 Ninja Weapons (Nodachi) Skill = 30

Shinzu accepted Masaraku's advice and took a deep breath and relaxed his body, perhaps it would help find the gate. Opening would be a different story, Shinzu already knew that the opening of any of the gates, especially the first time it was opened, required and incredible force of will. But he did grow closer to the gate, decrining that it was definately located somewhere in his brain. "Thanks Masaraku, oh, and try to focus more on finess then pure power when using a sword. Sometimes knowing where to strike counts mroe then how hard you hit it." Shinzu said to Masaraku. "Batsu, you're doing good keep it up." He added. Roll (17) + 25 + 2 = 44 vs 35 3/10 (+2 to next roll for you both)

((FML)) Batsu was midway through a backflip into a kick when he heard Shinzu talking. This did nothing but throw the boy of focus. It was weird because he was used to zoning in on a task andnot let any distractions hinder him. But for some reason, he was off by a long shot. Before the boy could fall, he caught himself and stood still. He closed his eyes and decided to shut himself off from everything around him until he could gather his thoughts and proceed. So the boy stood motionless and clinched his teeth together. It was clear that this training was starting to get under his skin. 1d20 [1] AUTO FAILQuote: Style: Capoeira

Masaraku tried Shinzu's advice, trying to focus on the where, instead of the how hard, but it quickly set in that finesse was for rapiers and fruity s**t like that. This was a Nodachi. King of swords, slayer of horsemen and their mounts alike. Why try to purposely disadvantage herself? She brushed it off and resumed her normal stance.
Masaraku swung hard at dummy and missed. She stumbled forward into the clone she had made and pushed at it. Masa regained her balance and watched as her clone was pushed into another dummy, knocking it over. Masa and her clone both left the dummies on the ground and returned to training.

Evidently this round of training did not go very well for any of them, first Masaraku failed twice, followed by Batsu. And that left Shinzu who for the life of him, couldn't locate the second gate... Oh well he highly doubted any of them would just give up that easily. Roll (17) + 25 = 44 vs 35 3/10

Batsu opened his eyes and immediately went back to looking over at Shinzu. He had focused but still managed to overhear what was said between the two. "Shinzu, you must remember that everyone has a different fighting style. You can't expect Masaraku to change her form after becoming used to what she does. She's doing great with her style now and you can't fix what isn't broken." Batsu gave a slight nod to the other male before turning away and training again. Batsu went into a front handspring and landed in the splits. As the boy landed, The boy ended up thrusting his right elbow towards the air in front of his face as hard as he could. 1d20 [17] + Taijutsu [16] + Help bonus [2] = 35 vs. 26 [pass]Quote: Style: Capoeira

Masa continued onward, Batsu was right, and as much as she wanted to say it, she was currently pretending to be ignoring them, so she refused to acknowledge the comment at the time. Instead she struck at the dummy again, its right arm shaking loose as she did so. "This thing won't hold up much longer." It was hard to say if she meant the dummy, the sword, or both.
Either way she hit it again, the adrenaline making her a little crazy as she brought the blade into the dummy's shoulder and watched the arm rattle out of socket, barely hanging on for dear life. "Damn I'm good." She commented to herself. It felt good to unleash her aggressions a little bit, and this soon to be dismantled dummy was doing the trick. -------------------------- Double Pass Nodachi Training: 5/10 DC = 40 Ninja Weapons (Nodachi) Skill = 30

Shinzu scowled, who would've thought the second gate would be harder to find then the first... He wouldn't stop though, not until he had this thing learned, even if he had to stay here all night, he'd do it. Wether Masaraku or Batsu would do it too, who knew. He wasn't going to move from this spot until he got it figured out though. Roll (2) + 25 +2 = 27 vs 35 3/10

Batsu came up from his splits and rolled onto his back. Doing so, he caught a glimpse of Shinzu scowling and he couldn't help but wonder. The boy stood up and turned to face Shinzu. "Hey, Shinzu has never been the type to show frustration, so whatever is bothering you shouldn't be written all over your face. So, cheer up and get into gear before I beat it out of you." Batsu chuckled a bit and gave Shinzu a friendly pat on the shoulder. 1d20 [5] + Taijutsu [16] = 21 vs. 26 [fail]Quote: Style: Capoeira

"Yeah your right..." Shinzu said, saying lightly, before managing a simple smile. He then turned his attention back to the gate, and lo and behold he was back on the trail. "Thanks Batsu." Shinzu said managing a more genuine smile this time. "Now stop focusing on me and get back to your training haha."
