She was bent over double, actually wheezing, with one hand on her knee and the other gripping her katana, when her abilities to actually be useful were called into question, without so many words, by the dude who's name she had yet to get. "Ya man, sure. I'm all in on this whole damsel-in-distress deal you have going on. It's really hot." It was hard to tell if she was being sarcastic (she definintely was), but she straightened, wiped her teary eyes, and turned her sword, letting it slice through the air, eyes narrowing at the big bad centipede that seemed to tower over her mere 5'2". Rolling her head back and forth to crack her neck, she took her katana in two hands, and with what she liked to think was fierce battle cry (much better than a shriek of terror) went barreling towards the many-legged foe, letting her sword slash along the length of it's torso once she was close enough to strike. Huh? Wait. Where did the floor go?
Was about all Alicia could think of as she suddenly found herself free falling for a couple of seconds until she landed on the sand in the middle of some desert.
"Hello? Is anyone out here as well?"
Sheesh. Was this supposed to be part of the orientation in the first place? If yes, a little warning might have been nice so that she could slap on some sunblock before leaving her room to attend the meeting earlier on.

Almost as if in response to her call, not one nor two but six centipedes emerged from the sand to crowd around Alicia. Holy s**t! Was this still supposed to be part of the orientation with the new trainees having to show what they could do? Because these creatures were huge and disgusting and did she forget to mention that they were only two ******** feet long?

Oh thank God, someone was coming to help. As Peyton approached, Fredrick held out the skull desperately, although he at least had the decency not to shove it directly at her. Larva were still spilling out of the eye sockets, a few at a time. "They just keep coming out and I don't, Deadrick says we need to kill them-" And he needed to calm down a little, calm down. "I need help killing them."
And then, when another shout came, his face went horribly red. Right, see this was why panicking was bad, even if they were still- Right. Answer. Specific. He cleared his throat. "I HAVE A SKULL FULL OF BUGS THAT KEEP COMING AND NOT DYING." He glanced back at Peyton with a smaller, apologetic "Sorry."
Quote: Frederick can choose to get rid of the skull. He will need to find someone who has a runic torch to set fire to it (quote whatever players you want, especially the ones in the tent!). If he tries anything else, or leaves it, they just keep on writhing out. If these larvae are not defeated by specifically a runic torch, all the centipedes on the next GM ORP round, will grow into fully sized ones that will make all players take -5 auto damage every post.

Aa, yes. All things were going on as expected now, it wasn't going to just be a fight against a few mobs of centipedes. Couldn't just be the small collection of Puddie, no you had to get the final monster as always. Things were going off the rails, the tents seemed to explode with activity and... well, it was hard to tell since he wasn't there. Outside it seemed just as bad.
Milo probably should go help. But... which way to go...Quote: Milo is an intermediate Sun Hunter... who as usual has no idea whats going on.

Roswell gave Lysander a panicked look at the request, but his grip didn't falter.
"Lys, whatever this is, I'm already in."
Merric's extra help finally gave him the traction they needed, and as Lysander cleared the sand, Roswell took hold of Lysander jacket and pulled him back away from the shifting sand.
"Oh, thank goodness," he said, and this time very resolutely took Merric's hand, giving it a firm shake and stealing a glance at his coat. "You're in our division," he said, and pulling a piece of cardstock from his vest, pressed it into Merric's hand, "Lysander's card," he supplied. "I suggest, sir- and Mr. Cassel, that we get the hell out of here."

Startled enough by the sting that she lets out a yelp, Abbi stops to inspect her wound. It wasn't bad enough that the thing had simply stung her, it had ripped her tights too! That annoyance was enough to keep the anxiety over having been bitten from becoming full blown panic, but only for the moment. Her bite was swollen, and it hurt a lot, but she wasn't in the position to drop everything just to tend to this. That meant that the thing that would help the most would be to assist someone else, and she could definitely do that.
Abbi adjusted her grip on her scythe as she began to stride forward, mentally preparing herself and her weapon to use the charge they'd built. As she looked toward Bradley, who finished off the last two centipedes attacking him, that dawning panic came rushing back when she saw his body blackened and charred. Larvae fell from him in fat blobs, little squirming white pods that would grow bigger and worse and attack them all over again.
For a second it felt like the world tilted on its axis as Abbi's hands let go of her weapon to slap against her face, covering her eyes as a startled shriek ripped from her. "Oh my glob oh my globohmyglob" Was this real? Was she hallucinating? Had she hallucinated the first time in the Sahara? She couldn't remember, and now that her vision was blocked she could only focus on the yelling and the sand shifting heavily. "Is your face really messed up like that or am I totally loosing it?!" Abbi yelled in what she hoped was Bradley's direction, before she began talking to herself. "If he's really dead already then I'm probably gonna die soon, and isn't that just the best? Welcome back Abbi, HA HA EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE." Her scythe, nestled against one shoulder, did nothing to help as Viveca screeched in her head, trying to rip apart the sight they'd seen but doing a piss poor job of it.

By the time Ever crossed to the giant centipede, Rep was there -- and, for just a moment, he considered backing out and finding someone else who needed a bit of help. Then, with a hum, he fell in next to the other man instead, flashing him a sideways smile and ducking under his weapon to take a swipe at the centipede. As it bit back, he flicked a look to the new Trainees instead. "Either of you seriously injured?" As if he hadn't been, moments earlier. < Ahem... it seems to me that you've clearly forgotten that you have me m'lady. >
Ardwyad interjected as the grapple hook gun suddenly materialised in her hand.

Lysander's relief to be free of the grip of whatever it had been was immense. He put an arm across Ros's shoulders, even in spite of his height and had to steady himself against him. "My ankle isn't much good right now I think." he said, distressed.
"But th- thank you both. And I agree, we need to get out of here, this is nothing but a deathtrap."

Terry would have said something more (either to Kim or to his fellow newbie) but then the unthinkable happened. They were being sent somewhere they didn't ask to be sent, which really wasn't all that unthinkable based on the nature of their superiors and the general attitude he'd come to expect from the seniors present.
At least the landing wasn't too awful and the instant he felt the course grains beneath his palms, Terry knew where they were. And he wished he didn't.
------------
Joy would have liked to get to know Sonja more, maybe actually have properly introduced herself before the wrapped candy went flying every which way as the floor gave way beneath them. She didn't scream in horror, didn't cry out in laughter, but she did accept it as this is a think that has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen so she just made the most of it.
Her landing wasn't as bad as she expected, but where they landed certainly was somewhere Joy wished she would never be back. "Pak shet." she growled and summoned Bert without thinking.
------------
Brittney was trying to get into the whole ******** shebang when some sour-faced nerd guy came in, gave them all a once over, and then did some bullshit magic. It had to be magic because if there were monsters, there had to be magic, duh. And then they were falling and Britt was none too pleased. She was ******** pissed.
Arriving at some shitty desert resort that looked like some failed social media event, the last thing she wanted to see were ******** giant bugs. she yelled and on instinct had that bad-a** claw gauntlet thing she found.

Success!
Alicia nearly gave a whoop of joy when the grapple hook hit its target and squished the darn creature. One down, five more to go. She took aim at another but missed it entirely due to a case of her own nerves much to Ardwyad's dismay.

It took a lot of will power not to cringe at the sight of the skull and the larva that was spilling out of the eye sockets, but Peyton was a professional and she held it together. She really didn't like the bugs, oh god.. "Put it on the ground," she requested, letting one dagger return to the totem thumb ring on that hand so she could dig in the hip pouch she had on her left side. There were bandages inside, a pendent she knew better than to try using, and a small, compact hand torch that had runic tech written all over it. Metaphorically. The only thing she could think of to kill the bugs in a quick and efficient way was fire. "Set it down and then take a step back, ok?" HP: 35

His... face? What? Bradley snapped his face to Abbi, eyes growing wide. Oh no. He knew that this place did things to people, he knew that it was full of Fear and things and. And there were giant centipedes and people turned into centipedes and good god why did they have to do this everytime.
He pushed himself up and sprinted over to Abbi, grabbing her upper arms gently with his hands.
"It's not real Abbi, it's not real! I'm okay, my face is okay! The centipedes are real, but whatever you see on my face is not," he said, trying to lock eyes with her and try to help her center herself. AyeAvast ;;;; nu presh scythe buddie

"You have to burn them with the runic torches," said a voice, warning, "If you don't burn them, they'll just multiply."
Next to Gale was a Moon Hunter. They looked tired, exhausted, coat torn, bleeding. They were slumped over on one knee and breathing heavily, barely conscious.
kuropeco Gale is the only person who sees this Moon Hunter. Everyone else sees a 6 foot centipede. BOSS MOB: 50/50 HP This boss doesn't attack, it doesn't auto attack, it just takes the hits. Anyone is free to attack it and if it is defeated, the regular way, it just dissolves (or in Gale vision THE HUNTER DIES), if it is left alive, it will simply just stay where it is and do nothing. As Gale sees it, they are too tired to talk any more, bleeding profusely (in non Gale vision, it's the poison leaking from the centipede).
