"Thank you, Krasnya. For doing this." Jeremiah inclined his head towards her. There was respect there and few other things because, well. It was Krasnya. Helping with their ... mistake. He was stepping towards Eve a moment later, even if it was a slight hobble, and offering an arm out. Like any gentleman. "Would you like an arm, Miss Fitzpatrick?" It was an old game, mostly because Eve was definitely married at this point but considering there had been - on more than one occasion - a couple stuffy church people that had thought them married at one point or another ...

Alg, America and Jack had rejoined from the upstairs and the older man assisted Jack in putting the upstairswere through the portal."We got them.." Alg murmured, returning to Jeremiah's side. The were had clearly been trussed up with his and Jack's belts for safety and the older man looked fairly uncomfortable without his complete wardrobe. He was down a jacket and a belt at this point. Was it over? Could they go home? Dear god he wanted to sit down. medigel we putting the were in the hole so it stops droolin on ur shoes

Shun was listening as best as he could while holding his position. Lady Red. He was going to have to remember that. After seeing two more get shoved through the portal, he asked "is that all of them? Can I give the all clear?"

Eve took the offer of support gratefully, with profuse thanks. "I'm so sorry. You all have been fighting for your lives up here, while I was done in by a flight of stairs..." It wasn't normally like her to address her limitations in such a way, but guilt was a powerful motivator. She would always wonder if she could have done something more, something different to help.

Jeremiah shook his head at Shun. "Not yet, Eve and the others should go through as well. They'll be able to get back to Ashdown from there. They were never here in the first place." Or so he assumed because they had gone in and come back out. He looked to Krasnya, then to Eve, Jamie, and Lily. When Eve spoke he gave her a slight smile. "My dear, you've had your legs back for hours at best? You're forgiven." His attention then flickered to his husband who came up on his other side. Jeremiah's free arm went around him briefly and squeezed. Then Algie was given a look. A we will talk about your ability to truss up people look. Someone apparently had been holding back a skillset.

Shun just slowly nodded at that, eying the lucid were folk. They better move soon. He wasn't sure how patient the incoming forces would be. Not only that but he wanted this to be over with. It has been a rough night.
"Sometime after all this is done.... we need to talk, Mercer," he requested.

Finally relaxing as the last one went through, America turned her attention to the lady in the fancy dress. The bluejay's head turned toward Lady red as well. It was possibly judgemental, but it's also likely its little face was a victim of resting bitchface. Noting the increasing tension, America asked, "You need help ma'am?" A glass of water? A chair?

Chel, being ignored and useless in the current situation (a chill crept up her neck, the same one that had happened at the foot crime scene; big people talking above her about things she didn't understand), shrank back and slumped against one of the walls.
She wanted the police to get here. Police were normal. Police were something that, while she generally disliked, she could at least rely on them to be police. Suddenly detective oldbag was calling magical fairies little pet names and people were turning into animals. America was offering it help like this was all an elaborate dinner party and she was about to take the damn fairy's coat. It wasn't normal and Chel's brain was wearing thin now that it wasn't running on pure adrenaline.
Shun could ask all the questions he wanted. Chel thought she was going to distance herself from this madness as much as possible. A bad dream she could smooth over later.
"You did fine," she at least told Eve. Because not everyone could be expected to be heroes.

The truth at the center of it all was this: despite everything they’d done and overcome, despite the exit to safety away from judging and prying eyes laying right in front of him, Jamie was scared. Detective Mercer was right, at least he agreed with the idea, but he stood there hesitating regardless. Trusting Lady to get them all out wasn't the issue. The root of the issue was still the uncertainty of everything.
What had they become? What was Other Ashdown really? There were a lot of questions and not so many answers, but time was running out and that much was obvious from the strain in Lady's posture and the warning of police arriving soon.
"S-Sorry to hold you up," he muttered to her, tugging Shiloh's hat further down on his head before turning to Shiloh himself. "I, um... I can't go downstairs." There was a small, sad smile on his face as he admitted that. He was too afraid of what would happen if anyone else found out about his condition. It's not like they'd never see each other again, but after everything that happened, he didn't really want to be separated.
"I'll... see you soon, though, okay? I-I'll text you..."
Giving one last look to everyone else in the room, his gaze hesitated on Chris. For some reason, Jamie had a feeling the next time he visited his teacher in his office, they would be having an unusually serious conversation. He almost laughed at that, except it was also kind of frightening. So much of this was.
"T-Thank you, everyone..." he muttered—and it felt kind of awkward, but what else was he supposed to say—before turning with surprising purpose and stepping into the portal.

Wait...
"What?"
Honestly, Shiloh's mind had been racing for a solution to the whole... covering up the animal bits thing. He started with the hat—Lady showed up—and he was going to work something else out, figure out a way to sneak Jamie through the police and hopefully somewhere safe. He hadn't been sure how, but... it was going to happen. He was going to make it happen.
But then Jamie was apologizing. See you soon? "...wait. Wait—Jamie? WHOA WAIT—"
He stepped into the portal right as Shiloh reached out, vanishing into thin air like some sort of dream. Shiloh gawked. He was gawking and Jamie was gone and...?
"Are you ******** kidding me?!" and he was livid. "You just—You just say 'see you soon' and ********> he didn't care that he was screaming at a portal. Maybe Jamie could hear him on the other side; he ******** hoped so. "And then you just leave?!"
His head didn't have time to process his thoughts, nor the ramifications of his actions. ******** this noise. ******** everything that had happened up to this point. ******** absolutely everything, but most of all ******** Jamie.
"GET THE ******** BACK HERE." he screamed as he too charged headfirst into the goddamn portal. shibrogane is it necessary to quote you??? probably not but idc PeanutButterpies bye teacher see you in hell

There was a lot going on but it seemed that the most of the mess, it had been taken care of. Blame was being reflected on something else, Michael and the other weres were in Other Ashdown (where it was not the best option he was figuring out, was the most suitable one to keep them away from the police for now) and everything was starting to calm down.
He locked eyes with Jamie before he stepped in and could only think that him and Jamie needed to have a very, very long talk. Explanations to be traded, some basic stuff he could show him. He didn't want him to go in blind, like Chris had, and it was worrying seeing him just go in. But Jamie had his pack and had dealt with Other Ashdown before all this, so he was sure he was going to be fine.
It was Shiloh that, as usual, completely and utterly surprised him.
He should've known that without Jamie, Shiloh was going to lose his calm. It was reasonable, since they had basically stuck together this whole time. Jamie had been the one to calm him down first and when Thorne had dropped, Jamie had still been there. They had worked. So some part of Chris was expecting this, even if he hadn't stepped up quick enough to try and calm him down.
What he didn't expect was Shiloh to charge through the portal, which came with the sickening realization that Shiloh was one, a dreamer and two, about to probably be on his own in Other Ashdown. And that was something Chris could and absolutely would not handle.
"Fu- Shiloh come back!" Chris yelled, going after him into the portal. He was absolutely and utterly not prepared but that didn't matter because in this instant, his student probably needed him.
shibrogane this is also probably not needed but um. hi anyways sorry.

Faced with Lady again, faced with a portal that smelled like rain, Lily blanched, lingering at the back of the group with her tail wilted behind her. If it wasn't even going to fix them, then she didn't want to go back, not where she was stuck as some kind of weasel thing with no way to get home and be...not that. Lucas had been right, and now she was stuck with the horrible consequences of what she'd sown, of having to go back to place on a gamble she knew they were going to lose. In a way, she felt cheated, but it was too late to try and hide. The police were coming, Lady was here, and her condition would not be tolerated. She bought herself time by waiting for the others, watching them tumble through the portal one by one. Lily didn't even try to stop Shiloh or the blonde teacher, watching with mild surprise as each one went through. And then it was just her and Eve, and she thought she could hear boots on the stairs. "This sucks," she muttered grimly to the older woman, touching her hand for a moment to find the strength to walk through. With a sigh, she closed her eyes like she might be jumping into water, and with a deep breath stepped forward into the portal beyond.

Eve gave Lily's hand a squeeze before she walked into the passageway, silently following the second after.

Jeremiah saw the way that Jamie hesitated, the set of his ears - all that much more obvious now because they were longer - and his overall demeanor. This has not been a good experience for him and the detective was making a note to find Jamie after everything. Then, of course, Shiloh was running in and then Chris and then ... He did not swear, he do not say a word, instead he just let out a low growl. It was somehow entirely expected. "I can't go with them now, not with my presence being known." Jeremiah looked to Eve and then to Krasnya. "I'm going to trust that between you and Krasnya, that you'll keep an eye on them." Not that Chris was not an adult and an old hand at this. "If need be, I can find a way in later if I don't hear from you." Jeremiah paused. "I'll let Leila know, Eve." That she was alright and what had happened. The detective lieutenant assumed she was alright downstairs somewhere and watched as both her and Lily disappeared through.

The sergeant wasn't sure if Jeremiah had heard him, but it didn't matter too much. He knew where he could find him, and he'd seek him out later when things have settled somewhat and he wasn't bleeding. Right now...
Well right now two non-weres had run on into the portal. And they were gone. Well s**t. He didn't know if humans could travel between the worlds or whatever the other side of that portal was easily.
"Please tell me they can leave wherever that leads to on their own." He said while placing a hand on his head. Shun did not want another missing persons case here, especially when said missing people were in some mystical place.
