The slightest touch of his blade rendered them a shower of shards, and the most vicious attack that they could throw at him couldn't scratch his armor. He looked forward to fighting the Queen again, though. She had been a real challenge. The only time he'd ever resorted to using healing items in this game. Wow... Those really wouldn't help anymore. He had way too much health now... There had to be stronger healing items in the game somewhere, right? Or were you just meant to level your healing skill to compensate? That could create a whole class for healers, if it were the case. That would be great. If they had a healer. Roll1: 94+31=125+8=133 THSS Roll2: 34/2= 17+14=31+1=32 evasion Name:Rota Level:10 HP: 213/213 (Health remains the same due to health regen) AP:13/13 Rota thrust Abyssian deep into the spider's face, cleaving it in two from Cephalothorax to Abdomen. However, the spider tried to have the last laugh as the bits of fangs lurched at the demon and stabbed him in the chest just enough to leak the poison into his system. However, he felt no injury as he had the last time he was bit. Something in his system was counteracting the poison. Taking full advantage, he turned to the next spider(3) as it tried to lunge at him. Feeling the spirit of the moment, he sidestepped and with a mighty shout began bringing his mighty blade down on the offending arachnid. Abyssian once more devoured the blood of its victims, leaving the blade perfectly clean. Rota was mildly concerned of having a sword that drank the blood of the guilty, but mostly found it amazing that that was even a thing. "All of them are fired. This is a terrible daycare. I feel I should consult the management on this."[b/] Rota shouldered his mighty blade. "This will likely impede further patronage to this establishment."

Name:Rota Level:10 HP: 213/213 (Health remains the same due to health regen) AP:13/13 Rota heard a gurgle from behind him, and felt a chill go down his spine. He turned and the abdomen of the spider was still there and spilling viscera onto the ground. he watched in horror as it grew barbs and its organs grew new legs where the thorax should have been. The stump grew a circular pattern of razor sharp fangs like a worm as the mouth oozed with viscera and poison. whatever sensory organs it had were undetectable as it grew in proportion, its outer carapace becoming more vicious and spiked as it now had a full set of legs once more. Four of hardened carapace, and four of unknown organic sinew. This hellbeast was more horrific than the last, to be sure. Rota's left hand went to his mouth as he choked back the bile that was rising to his throat. Such a being of rage and pain would not last much longer in this world, the warrior would see to that. Rota stood firm against the abomination, looking to Alyx to see his resolve against the beast. What resulted from the RNG's lack of empathy and knowledge of what should and should not be allowed to exist in this world could only be more Lovecraftian if it had grown tentacles instead of legs. The Gloomking shook his head. "You poor thing. You seem to be in pain. Come here, and let us help you." He did not judge the creature as awful or horrifying so much as wretched and pitiable. He raised his sword and prepared another thrust, to help end the spider's pain. On the plus side... This meant that, if Alyx got the drop, he could create a stage three spider trophy. There aren't any branches off of the main path. It's a straight shot from here to the main cavern. The Queen is faster than you might guess, and she has strength that dwarfs anything we've fought so far. Are you sure you're ready for this?" Alyx had no idea how far Rota had really come. It was out of character to ask someone's level, and he didn't really know that blacksmith's stats, either, though he feared that they might be lower than his own, if only for the great dedication the demon had to his craft. Name:Rota Level:10 HP: 213/213 AP:13/13 Rota let out a roar as he felt his blade pierce the shell of the beast, staking it through clear into the ground and further. He hear the abomination let out a brief squeal of pain before he wrenched Abyssian from the ground and its new fleshy sheath, splitting the abdomen that made up its body in half from the midpoint to the tip, leaving the 'face hole' the only thing loosely keeping the body intact. Rota watched his blade absorb the blood of its victim a second time over as he stared deeper into the depths of the cave. "Little One is in there. If I am to get him back, I need to go in. I cannot afford to not be ready anymore." He began to stare the corpse into submission. "Could I have prepared a little more? Probably. but I refuse to let anything happen to that little guy." Rota briefly turned to Alyx, keeping the corpse FIRMLY in his peripheral vision. "However, if there is any last minute work that YOU need to do, feel free. Alyx watched his AP refill as they waited. He didn't get the trophy, but that's fine. He opened his inventory and began scanning through his items. He flicked through the list, looking for advantages. He looked over at Rota. "Here. Take this and use it for now. You can give it back later. It will help you survive, in case something were to happen." He tosses the to Rota. It would raise his HP by a level. It was the best they could do for now. "So tell me. Have you ever experimented with beast taming?" Alyx had a slight grin play across his face. If he could tame her... He would have the perfect pet, wouldn't he? But would Rota want to do that? Combat against the Queen was hard enough. At their level, it shouldn't be a problem, really, but it could still prove to be a headache.
Exquisite Gloombear Trophy (stage 1): A trophy infused with the Light of a double-augmented Gloomwood Bear. While active, this trophy grants the user +20 HP. The trophy is a claw from the bear, hanging from a hemp rope.

Rota took the trophy, and felt himself become more invigorated as he hung it from his belt loop. He pulled out a trophy of his own that he had just acquired from the spider abomination, holding it in his left hand. "Do you have a use for this one?" He then planted the blade of his sword into the ground and reached into his pocket with his right hand, eventually pulling out the Perfect Gloombear heart. "One could say I have dabbled a bit."

Alyx looked at the spider trophy. It was the final piece that he needed... "As luck would have it, I'm looking for at least one more of every monster in these woods. I've almost got the boar and spider trophies completed. That one that you're wearing I could probably hunt for a lifetime and never find another." Alyx glanced at the dialogue for the Gloombear heart that Rota held, and grinned. It was a Perfect heart, and it belonged to a bear. Alyx' perfect spider heart seemed to pale in comparison. "Well... If you've come that far with it... Then you must know about the eggs that the Queen guards. Now, we could kill her and take those eggs if we wanted to. But what about the Queen herself? We may not be able to be the first to kill her. But the first to subjugate her? To tame the wildest of beasts in the Gloomwood? We would be legends to have such a pet."

Rota put away the bear heart and pulled out his boar trophy as well. "Well, I actually DIDN'T know that. I actually kinda got lucky with getting that bear heart. I have dabbled in it though..." He held both Trophies out to Alyx. "You have helped be so much, it is only fitting I return in kind. These might as well go to someone who is actively seeking them out."
"I can help you tame her, but no matter what you will get the heart. I don't really want a spider following me personally around." Rota seemed to lose himself in thought. "I HAVE always wanted a dog though."

Alyx accepted the trade and narrowed his eyes conspiratorially. He reached into his inventory and pulled out the paw of a Dire Wolf. "Wouldn't you know it, I know just where to find one."
He looked at his inventory. He had enough to perfect the boar and the spider now, if everything went to plan. If they tamed the Queen, they'd be on their way to legend. "Alrighty, then. We'll tackle this, and then we'll move on to greater adventures. Are you ready?"
Alyx opened a dialogue to give Rota 10 s, just in case.
"I have too many of those anyway. She's just up ahead."

As you journey deeper into the cave, you begin to notice the walls of the cave are becoming more and more coated in spiderwebs, as if you are walking into a giant spider's nest. You can see skulls and bones of both man and beast within the webs, or suspended from the ceiling in horrific manner. You come into a large cavern, and as you venture into the dark, light suddenly fills the room as a hole in the ceiling is uncovered. Looking to find the mechanism by which the sunlight was allowed into the cavern, you discover a gargantuan Gloomweave spider descending to face you on a single, rope-like strand of web. As you stare in horror at the terrifying abomination before you, it raises its front legs and bares its monstrous fangs at you, each dripping with a horrible toxin.
Gloomweave Queen: A large spider, roughly ten feet tall and fifteen feet across. A successful attack from this monster will cause poison for three rounds, worth three points of damage a round. The Gloomweave Queen is too large to escape her nesting cavern, and as such, with two distance-gaining actions, one may be free from harm, being unreachable by the monster. That is, if one can escape the sticky webs that the monster is prone to throwing. HP: 500 +20 to all combat rolls. Immune to effects. Immune to effects Can attack enemies no matter where they are in the cavern, meaning that you are always in combat range unless you leave the area. 1-60: attack, 61-75: web attack, which, if hits, deals no damage, but s the target to the floor, preventing the enemy from moving (but not attacking) for two rounds. 76-90: retreat outside of combat range (even bows) and add 1-5 Gloomweave spiders to the combat. Will only return to combat range once the adds are dealt with. (76-78=1, 79-81=2, 82-84=3, 85-87=4, 88-90=5) 91-100: rage, attacking with +30 to attack
