Ceron could hear Aiden grumbling profanities and grousing over the lack of shoes. Afterall what did she need two different pairs of shoes for, she only needed one and the clothes didn't exactly fit her perfectly either. But it was better than travelling around town in the charred remains of her dress. Normally Ceron hated babysitting jobs, but if a babysitting job meant she would be employed again for a new more fun job than her previous, she was all game.
Ceron could feel Aiden's temper rise and for some reason the air surrounding her felt warmer. Chance has me babysitting an interesting kid, Ceron admitted to herself. Ceron noticed that the dress Aiden was holding seemed to be smoldering as she accused her for being the same girl from "earlier" whatever that meant.
"I'm not sure if you're complimenting me or insulting me. We can get you clothes that actually fit and shoes. It'll fit with the plan." Ceron said taking her bag from Aiden slinging it across herself.
"C'mon we've got to get going." She said handing Aiden the helmet and nodding the direction of the approaching mob.

She caught hint of the direction of the approaching traffic. Although distant, in seconds the case would just the opposite.
Clunks of fabric ash dispersed around her fingertips and onto the ground by her feet. Aiden rubbed her hands only to smear black across her palms. She snatched the helmet as she eyed Ceron cruelly- more so than she did the item and around her head the helmet went fitting rather snugly and a reluctant Aiden climbed on top of the bike. She was still holding her shoes in the loop of her finger. Again and again she was reminding herself that the stupidest mistake in history would be to leave them there. Instinct was to wrap her arms around Ceron's waist, but pride would convince Aiden to grab hold of the seat from behind. "Well? Vroom vroom!"
Off they went.
(Can't. Do. Any. More. All-nighters.)

((HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And forgive me for not replying right away I am still getting used to typing on my nexus keyboard which is o bigger than the nexus itself so typing is a bit cramped until I get used to it...something new and fun!! mrgreen )) Ceron had driven all over town in an unpredictable and reckless manner to throw off any tails that might have managed. They even stopped a few times in a few random places including a twenty-four hour shop where Aiden was able to purchase some clothes that would fit and some shoes. They even picked up a knife or two at a dealer of Chances and put it on his tab. Ceron knew that wielding a weapon one didn't know how to use was dangerous but Aiden had assured her she knew how to use it. It was almost sunrise by the time they arrived at the location Chance had specified. Besides being one of the best hotels in town, it was also one of the most simple in it's elegance, very much Chance's style. They pulled up and a valet hurried over to park her bike. She handed the boy a few bucks and informed him she was a guest of Chance and to park her bike by his car. It would be safest considering his vehicle was watched round the clock.

(Aiden don't want no ghetto a** clothes from a 24/7 store.
Hey Frenzy, happy birthday! I hope you spoil yourself. I know I celebrated. I'm super hungover here.)
Aiden practically hopped off of the ride in mid slowing down, planting down again on her feet that were still practically bare if not for the stockings and then wincing at the shock to her ankles. It was then that Aiden would think of the elegance of her Ater Noxan wear or at least her big black boots that were in the deceased faction leader's car, which she'd also been thinking of the whole time. Was finding where the valet put all the keys even an option? What was happening in all the commotion in that parking lot?
Immediately, Aiden bolted towards the entrance. She hugged herself for the insecurities of what she was wearing, which the doorman registered, that and then the agressive nod of her head before allowing her in with the slowest swing of the door and a raised chin. Aiden then bolted again, weaving around the not yet entirely open door, zipped her lips when she felt the cold touch of the marble flooring, and ignored the welcomes of the staff who'd talk amongst themselves about the b***h as soon as she was gone. She pressed and pressed again on the upwards arrow that linked her passage to the floor of her hotel room.
Although entirely unlikely, Aiden braced herself for whenever there would be a re-encountering with Chance.Chance may not have thought about it, but he would owe Aiden.
(I'm aware my post is crap.)

( Gonna try an old posting style for no apparent reason. xd )
So much for being optimistic; -- Each step was labored by days worth of fatigue, but he trudged on like a prize plow horse through those eerily empty streets; with only the sound of the angered and horrified echoing from the glowing horizon that was once a building. He was close now to his little fortress of a hotel, clips of the drive through just hours before coming back to him and low and behold, upon rounding the corner to his right the looming magnificence shown with a strange happpy glow from the lights outside - a sharp contrast to the tone of the night.
However pleasant the sight of it was at a distance, it was the approach that started churning a knot in his stomach; skin tingling with anxiousness. Chance was keen to pick up on the sight of the overly sized motorcycle and immediately his heart sank; both happy to assume their safety, but also knowing the fate to any who would try to enter that floor unannounced. Pace picked up as he neared the building, hoping for a glimpse of the two; but no such luck. Urgency showed in his steps to the front doorways, and pushing the doorman aside for a quicker, albeit less pleasant entrance.
The faintest glimpse was offered as the doors to the elevator closed of what he had feared most - a late arrival to what coule easily turn out to be another all out gun battle upstairs via his entourage. From the slight pause, his body shuddered at the sudden movement brought on by the full excersion of his legs bounding onward. He slammed through the stairwell door nearly falling at the sudden absence of something to halt his forward motion. Chance did not falter though, long legs carrying him up the stairwell at a rate no normal man could have matched. Upon reaching his floor he threw himself against the door, knowing full well it would be on lockdown, and managed with his brute strength to pop it open. Once on the floor there was a dead and heavy silence over the space that Chance simply knew was caused by his lurking men. Hand rose to his mouth and thumb and forefinger were used to create a piercing whistle to signal his arrival - he could only hope he beat the elevator.

Ceron watched Aiden run into the hotel with her helmet and practically barrel past everyone else. She sighed and shook her head. At least she was clothed and presentable, but then again not everyone appreciated such things. She followed after Aiden at a leisurely pace shrugging at everyone who had stared at Aiden running past then looked to her as if for an explanation. She didn't have to ask for directions to Aiden's room the shocked expressions she left in her wake were practically like a neon sign or the Cheshire Cat leading Alice to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
When she reached Aiden's door and knocked, Aiden stuck out her head, peered at her then slammed the door in her face. Ahh well, she thought, best to go and find Chance and announce package delivered at least. She asked directions from a maid to Chance's room and was simply directed to the rest of the floor. Getting into the elevator Ceron estimated she would have to find another maid and inquire after Chance's room, only she was wrong about that. But as she meandered along the hall she did see a door in front of her along with two armed guards.
The armed guards were made to be intimidating and she hoped they were smart. Then again she remembered Chance had no patience what so ever for people who didn't use their brains. He did have a brainless minion or two but she never had to deal with them and she wasn't going to start now. Considering all that happened tonight she was grateful. But they did look like it was their job to shoot first ask questions later. Ceron groaned and rolled her eyes, this was not what she was expecting.
"Hey, I'm here at Chance's invitation."
"Ceron." said one guard acknowledging her.
"Ahhh, Zekie boy. How are you?"
"The boss isn't here yet, you'll have to wait for him to come back."
"What you can't let me in to wait?"
"With your reputation? You'd be luckier to get into the Mech Corp after that stunt you pulled last month." Zeke snorted.
"Don't blame the results, blame the tools my friend." Ceron said loftilly, it wasn't her fault the job went south, that was entirely a different employer who assigned her a green partner, and now the news was in the wind, just great.
"I'm not your friend and you'll have to wait until Chance comes back and I'll leave him your name, then we'll see."
"You sound like my father." Ceron replied pouting and looking quite innocent
"You don't have a father, and if you did everyone here has theories as to the TRUE nature of his death. Nice try."
"Fine." Ceron said turning abruptly on her heel and back down the hallway to stand guard over Aiden's room. After all she should finish the job regardless of how many guards Chance had meandering up and down the hall.
((Seriously no pun intended...))

(Aiden would be at the elevator, so Ceron would have encountered Aiden's doppelgänger. I can live with it this time though.)

(Or not.)
The elevator came slowly of course, but when it did, Aiden practically hopped inside and her fingers darted onto buttons - one for the floor and the other to close the doors. In the between that was the gap of the closing doors, Aiden's eyes narrowed as she glared and might have hissed at Ceron's image up until the elevator was in upward motion. Gone. Finally.
Ever so more so slow was the ride up. Aiden had all the time in the world to look at the rubbish that was her current attire, voice the mouthful which she'd been retaining, and suggest to herself that she'd could actually make enough calm to make it all the way to the hotelroom.
The doors opened -very very slowly of course so that it was little by little that the width into that hallway of tension revealed. And then there was Chance, tall like god, a savior, in those seconds.
"Of course you beat us here. Your friend's downstairs. She thinks you left her to be my bodyguard."
