There was a moment of hesitation as Mitsu looked down to look herself over before she shook her head. No she hadn't been hurt but she looked rather ashamed with herself, her eyes unwilling to look back toward Shun. He was certainly disappointed with her.
Hearing Xiu in the distance Mitsu looked up toward her to find Mot and Junko with the baku as well. Maybe it would be best to stay in a group. It would at least be safer for Shun. She was of no help to him now.

Something held him back again, and the trainee snuck away in those precious seconds that Mort took to turn on the witch with an accusing look that was on the verge of turning into a rather baleful glare. Why did she keep getting in the way? Why couldn't she see this was the only way to get them Home?
Violence was absolutely the only answer that made sense to his distorted mind now.
But the longer he stared, the more he saw that anger bubbling up within her to meet his. And for some reason, rather than be bothered by the resistance, that piece of knowledge made him bare his teeth in a brief, cryptic smile. So there was something else in her beyond this constant, droll niceness that had no place here. That was the sort of thing that made him all the more glad that she was his and his alone.
Fine. He'd back off on the guy for now, but if the hunter got too close again he was making no promises. Almost amusedly, Mort tugged his clothes out of her grasp
A flask appeared in his vision, and mindlessly he took it and drank if only to get it out of his face; huh . . . somethign like an energy drink? The ratty professor gave him pause as a small surge of different, nonviolent feelings (mostly of the kirakira variety) came to the surface, but they were quickly tempered by the sight of the creature raising its head defiantly. Nodding to the teacher wordlessly in thanks, Mort discharged the energy at the beast instead, the strange smile disappearing.
Great. The group had separated again.
Maybe he shouldn't bother when it was always Hunters who caused them issues. True horde members didn't keep straying away - only the weak ones did that.

His attack was weak, but he didn't care. He didn't stop striking, releasing all his pain and frustration in the attacks.

He could hear the zomboil, and despite his need to destroy the creature he paused his attacks for just a moment, glancing over at him. "There is no need to thank me, I will always try to protect you." It was just a simple fact, nothing more to it. Therefore nothing more needed to be said about it.
It did mean that he was distracted and completely missed an opportunity to attack the creature.

In all actuality, Shun was more disappointed in himself more than anything. When he saw her looking towards some of the others, he thought for a moment. Did she want to go there? Well. Again he couldn't really blame her.
"Let's move. They'll... They should be able to keep you safe better than I could.." he whispered before taking her hand to try and bring her along.
As he moved, he glanced up at the large insanity beast. Furrowing his brow a bit, he called forth his daggers to just... try throwing one as they walked. It was a little half-hearted, but he managed to sink it in nicely anyway. Well, if nothing else, he could strike things. That was probably about all he was good for.
Once they were by the other tree, he looked towards them for a moment; his face hard to read (nothing really new there).
"If you don't mind.." he murmured to the Baku, Futakuchi onna, and Cowboy.

Ofelia didn't like this feeling useless, this running around doing nothing, and she pressed herself out of Before's arms in an effort to get out and attack. The attempt to break free was weak though, she barely got out of his arms, and she went stumbling around in a daze of confusion before her eye started to focus.
Oh, right. Big monster thing, needed to be killed now. She flexed her fists with Rue still on, ready.
Bix threw himself over Ceres as the fire washed over them, unaware that he couldn't block this and it wasn't normal fire. The albino hunter felt it, waited for the burn, but was horribly wrong as the stabs, the hooks, the pulls ripped and tore at his skin.
"Ahhhhh!" Bix fell to the ground, crippled and unable to move as he felt himself torn apart. And then..... it just stopped.
Bix was panting, sweating, afraid to look at himself ripped to pieces... but he wasn't. What?

"I...I'm fine," Eva tried to assure the pair, but she didn't look quite as confident as she was trying to sound, her brows drawn in confusion. While carefully laying one hand on Gale's arm for support, she stared down at her other hand in confusion, turning it back and forth to reexamine her skin. After a moment of silence, the girl shook her head.
"Sorry, I...the pain has faded, and I don't see anything wrong, so I should be okay." Smiling weakly, she turned her attention back to Gale and gave him another up and down look. Satisfied--and relieved to see--that he was relatively unscathed, Eva turned to eye Marcus, her lips turning downwards in a frown. "Yeah. Letting that thing hit again would be bad, especially for some people in particular."
She cast a worried glance out towards the other Hunters, scanning over them. "I want to make sure everyone is okay and heal their FEAR barriers if I have you. You two..." The girl trailed off, clearly looking hesitant at the idea of separating them. She knew that she didn't really have to be worried--they were full fledged hunters who could take care of themselves--but on a personal level, Eva couldn't help but fret about their well being. What if she separated from them and they were badly injured, but she was all the way across the field?
She did not look unlike an indecisive child standing there, hands clutched tightly around Chara as her gaze flickered between the pair and the others.
Even as she watched the thing, she heard a familiar voice yelling. Really? She'd just walked away from that jerkface, Jake. "Probably because you're loud and mean," she called out to him.
She could think of other things to say to him, but they were all just as rude and mean as he was. And she was better than that. Much better. She would take this anger, and focus it where it needed to be.
Armagnac was still crooning in her head.
Sherry ran in for an attack. It felt really good to hit something.

Ofelia couldn't do it, she couldn't focus anymore. After the roar still echoed in her ears she couldn't escape something in the back of her mind chanting about being eaten, or something else just screaming and cackling all together. She didn't like the way it felt, this strange sensation was making her head hurt, and because she'd managed to get herself away from the rest of her group Ofelia just dropped to her knees were she stood, hands on either side of her face.
