Gray had just stepped out of the wagon and was shutting and locking the door as he glanced down at Rose. "I reckon as long as there's no public arse grabbing, we'll be fine," he joked. He heard someone yell 'heads up' and looked around quickly. He saw something flying toward Rose at high speeds (though he wasn't sure what it was--some kind of flying disc or something) and sort of acted without thinking. An image of Rose lying in the snow covered in blood flashed in front of him and Gray just sort of jumped in front of him without giving it much thought.

It wasn't that he was being all selfless and heroic, really. It was just that he didn't want to have to worry about him again. It was just too stressful and Rose didn't take care of himself and rest. And Gray's thoughts didn't get much further than that before he was whacked between the eyes with the flying disc and sort of fell to the groud with a heavy thud, clutching at his face. Because...damn...that hurt like hell.

"Graaaaagh!"

Pain ricocheted to the back of his skull before shooting back his eye sockets. His head was definitely going to explode. And just before he finished his elixir too. What a pity...

Damn. No a** grabbing? How would he live without doing that? Eh, public groping would lead to a better reaction anyway. His eyebrows furrowed when he heard a voice yell something, but he wasn't sure what. He glanced around and didn't see anything, so he just shrugged it off. That is, until Mr. Gray dove in front of him in a rather dramatic fashion. Wait. What.

His confusion shifted to panic the moment Mr. Gray collapsed and made that pained groan. The only thoughts going through his head at the moment were 'ohgodohgodohgod' and all of the horrible possibilities that could have just happened. Since it was family day, the first thing he thought about was his family and... that wasn't pleasant to think about at all. Why? Because he knew his family hated him, and it wouldn't be the first time they tried to put a bullet in him.

So... did he...? He didn't even allow himself to finish that thought as he dropped to his knees and wrapped his arms around Mr. Gray, sure that he was dying. He buried his face in his chest to hide the tears welling up in his eyes, blabbing on and on in a pathetic attempt to keep himself from crying, "Nooo, why did you have to get in the way!? I... I could have taken it! I would live! But... No! I'm sorry. It's my fault. I'm so sorry... I love you! Don't die or I'll... I'll do something stupid! I'll follow you! I'll... burn alive in your wagon! Or drown myself! Let the Un... Undines rip me apart! J-just don't go... Please..." And the drama queen didn't even notice the frisbee on the floor right next to him.

"I..." Gray said. "I'm not dead yet. I don't want to go on the cart!" He pulled his hand off his face, but put it right back there to feel if his nose had been broken. Damn that hurt! Stupid thing was made out of bloody titanium! "Rose, I'm not dead."

"Just...mostly dead. I have a bloody ridiculous headache now." He propped himself up slightly. "Rose, stop it. Come on." The boy was just babbling nonsense. Ugh...and so loud. It felt like it was making his eyeballs vibrate, but Gray suspected that was just from the blunt trauma to his face.

"I don't think Undines rip people apart anyway. I'm fairly certain they just start biting..."

Gray was pretty exhausted after taking care of all the things that needed caring for after his return to Rosentale. The moment he had a spare hour or two, he returned to his wagon and crashed on the bed. He hated to admit it, but it was good to be back. He missed the place.A bit. Sort of.

Eh. It was comfortable and he liked most of the people he knew. So he was glad to be here and was looking forward to teaching again. Though his storage room had needed a good cleaning to get rid of things that had gone bad. But now, he was back at his wagon, snuggling into his pillows and heading off to dream about gold and riches and becoming King of Esfera.

As usual.

After ditching school again, Rose felt a little guilty. Just a little. At first, he was planning on simply breaking into Mr. Gray's wagon to snoop around and steal something, but then he remembered that he offered to tutor him. That would make up for that missed day, right? And he was starting to fall behind... No, wait, he had been behind for years and pretty much halfassed everything he did up to this point.

He was still debating whether or not to break in when he arrived at the wagon, peeking inside to see if he was there. He was asleep. Great, a test of his morality standing right in front of him. Break in and mess with his dreams until he got what he wanted, or be a good person, knock, and be tutored for the day?

... That was an easy decision. He immediately got to work by picking the door's lock, doing so slowly and quietly in hopes that he wouldn't wake him up. Once he was in... no. Now he felt bad. Damn morals, why did he have to have them? Instead of infiltrating his dreams, he just hopped ontop of Mr. Gray, figuring that it would be a fun way to wake him up.

Gray was in the middle of his very, very fulfilling dream when something heavy abruptly landed on him, attempting to crush the life out of him. It took about three seconds of yelling and flailing before he realized it was Rose and not some assassin or something.

"Graaaaaaaaaaaah! You--!" Partially amused, partially annoyed, and mostly bent on revenge, Gray grabbed the boy and flipped him over, quickly pinning him to the mattress and holding his arms above his head. "You are...how old again? Six? Brat." He grabbed the nearest pillow and shoved it over Rose's face lightly (he didn't really want to suffocate him....completely.

"Fine. For the record, I'm not moving for the rest of the evening so I hope you're comfortable." He frowned. "Did you pick the lock again?" Which reminded him he needed to give Rose a key because, really, he might as well. It would keep the boy from accidentally damaging the lock or something someday.

Rose was very amused by Mr. Gray's reaction... at first. When he realized what had happened and finally did something about it, he had no clue what was going on, because he suddenly went from being on top of Mr. Gray to being pinned against the bed and unable to move his arms. He squirmed a bit at first, trying to get free, before suddenly stopping. Why in the world would he want to free himself from this position?

But then he just had to give him a reason by holding that pillow over his face. ... Though he enjoyed it a little more than he would like to admit. "Mmph!" He tried to reply to Mr. Gray's question, then realized that it was difficult to talk with a pillow on his face. He bit it, about to throw it off when a realization hit him that he should have gotten a while ago. His arms were free. As soon as he noticed that fact, he tried to pull the stupid thing out of the way so he could speak, "I am comfortable, I did, and... were you serious about the whole tutoring thing?"

"What you are," Gray said, grinning slightly, "is incorrigible, I'm giving you a key, and yes I was. What would you like tutoring with? And couldn't it have waited until after my dream coronation? It was just getting to the good part."

He wondered where his spare key was, and if he could really trust Rose with it. Then again, this was Rose. Assuming he bothered to use it, he would probably guard it with his life. Gray was putting bets on Rose enshrining it and continuing to pick the lock--which was a little disturbing, actually. But then, this was Rose.

It was almost frightening how used to his stalking and obsessing, Gray was getting.

In...what? Coronation? It was like he was speaking some other language. Rose gave him a blank stare for a long time, trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. It should have been easy, but he was focusing too hard on the words that confused him. Incorrigible sounded like something bad, while he didn't even have a clue what coronation meant. Corn nation? ... That made no sense at all.

He eventually figured out that it would be much easier to pretend he knew those words and, after a good minute or two, finally answered, "A... key?" How disappointing. He enjoyed breaking into his wagon, and it was good practice for picking locks. He started out pretty slow at it, but now he could break in pretty quickly and quietly. He was sure he could use that skill someday. And he could always get a little glass case for the key or something. And keep it next to the crystallized rose. And Mr. Gray's boxers.

It took him a while to realize he had gone silent again as he was thinking. "Oh. Um..." He hadn't even thought about what he wanted to be tutored for. He needed it for everything though, so it was just a matter of picking one of his classes at random. "Sex ed would be fun," ... No, that was not what he meant to say.

"I'm going to go out on a limb here and, based on my past experiences, say you likely don't need tutoring in that particular subject," Gray said, rolling his eyes. "How about one of the classes in which you're actually enrolled, here at Rosentale? Besides mine, of course, because if you fail it, not only is that rather pathetic, but I would also boot your arse into next week."

He frowned. To be honest, he had actually no idea what classes Rose was enrolled in. They never seemed to find much time to discuss normal things.

"What is your schedule anyway? And which class are giving your problems?"

He was calling him a whore, wasn't he? ... Rose normally would have been upset by that assumption, but he knew it was true. And that was a rather depressing epiphany. He tried to squirm his way out from under Mr. Gray, not enjoying the position he was in now that he knew for a fact that it wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon.

He stopped when he threatened him if he failed his class, worried that he wasn't exaggerating. He still didn't have a clue what 'archaic' meant, and he was so distracted by Mr. Gray during that class, that he didn't remember a thing he learned. His only chance was to cross his fingers and hope he would forgive him.

He sighed when he asked for his schedule, not even sure he had it memorized right after he skipped class so many times "Art... the teacher's a b***h, your class of course, um... music, health, and potions. But I've been cutting class lately," He reluctantly admitted before quickly telling him his excuse, hoping he wouldn't be too upset, "I haven't been doing it because I was lazy or anything though! It's just... there are so many... girls. Every class I go to..." Such a lame reason. He was sure he would be mad, excuse or no excuse.

"Well, yes," Gray said. "There are a rather lot of females lurking about Rosentale." He frowned down at Rose as the boy tried to get away, and grabbed his hands, pinning them back to the mattress as he looked down at him. "Oi. Since I've got you here, tell me something. Why are you afraid of women, Rose? Is it something I can help you with?"

"If there's anything I can do..." He shrugged and left the rest unsaid.

Iin the end, he wanted Rose to graduate because, well, he did. But also, itw as sort of sad to watch him endure this crippling fear. Especially when itw as keeping him from doing simple things like attend class.

Rose squirmed even more when he pinned his arms down again, feeling uncomfortable now that Mr. Gray was being more... inquisitive. He had no problems talking about it, especially with someone he trusted, but he didn't want to angst about his past or anything. It would annoy him, and probably Mr. Gray too. So, he kept it short,

"I had issues with a group of them. They gave me all these... scars," He hesitated a bit when he remembered he couldn't see them thanks to his illusion. Sometimes he just wished he could turn the stupid thing off, even if only for a second, "I don't trust women anymore. And... I don't think you can do anything about it." Great, things got depressing, even if he did leave out the details. He needed to fix that.

"B-but it's fine! I'll deal with it. Somehow. I'll just... just..." He stopped when he couldn't even think of something he could do to get around it. He thought about trying to ignore them, but he had female teachers. He couldn't ignore them. He finally stopped trying to move away from Mr. Gray, looking rather defeated as he continued to think of ways he could focus in class with all the girls around.

Gray sighed. Poor kid. He shifted to the side, flopping over onto his back on the bed, moving up so he was propped up, partially, on the pillows. But he didn't let Rose go. Rather, he pulled Rose closer, wrapping one arm around him. The other, he folded back behind his head as he looked up at the ceiling. "The injuries that left those scars had to have been painful. It's the kind of thing a guy like me, stupidly wishes he could undo." He reached up, stroking Rose's hair. "well, look, I'll help tutor you on your classes. And you know, rather than just breaking in and all that, you know you can come talk to me sometimes."

"It isn't as if I'm going to judge you if you want to tell me about yourself. Actually, I'd be glad to know more about you so you don't have to get that look on your face if I ask questions." He sighed quietly, rubbing his head.

"Well, I guess it's not like you have to tell me anything if you don't want to. I can respect that, too."

Rose was relieved when Mr. Gray shifted, glad that his arms were free, even if he wasn't. That, he didn't mind at all. In fact, he took the chance to cling to him, since that was the main reason he wanted to free his arms anyway. He frowned when he mentioned wishing to undo his scars and mumbled under his breath, "Don't do that. I deserved every last one..."

He lightly swatted Mr. Gray's hand away when he tried to stroke his hair and was distracted for a moment from what he was saying. Oh yeah. Tutoring. Because that was totally what he came for in the first place. "I know, I know," He sighed, feeling as though he had told him that a million times already. He was perfectly fine with telling him everything about himself, but the problem was that he didn't have anything pleasant to talk about.

Besides, he preferred actions over words. And by actions, he would just rather get into his pants than talk with hi-- ... Oh, that was bad. Rose rested his head on Mr. Gray's chest and avoided any eye contact when he realized how terrible he was. He really hoped that was his demonic nature thinking and not him, because he couldn't even tell. "I... what do you think I should study first?" He asked a little too eagerly, wanting to drown out that depressing thought.
