Woah, that's really sneaky.
cat_gonk So I'm guessing you changed the password to what was suggested and then they hacked in? I can't believe someone would go to all the trouble to make such a scam to hack someone else. It's so low. They must have nothing better to do with their lives.
I'd be extremely suspicious in future of anyone telling you you've been hacked or that something's wrong with your account, even if they look like an NPC/admin. People normally don't tell you that they're hacking you and I've never known a Gaia admin or NPC to take the time to contact anyone over something like that. (Normally we have to submit reports to them and it takes ages for those to be answered >.>). I don't think they'd have time to keep an eye on people's individual accounts and then tell them when something goes wrong. The site's way too huge, with millions of users.
How could he possibly have known that you were 'hacked'? It was definitely a scam. There's no way for another user to be able to tell who's on the account, right?
Even if someone looks or sounds like an admin, I'm pretty sure they never ask you anything about your accounts or your password. So hopefully, keeping that in mind, it'll never happen again *sends hugs and cookies*
