Thoughts: Why in Skadi’s name am I helping him?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The hair manipulator nodded as Narcissa reaffirmed what their objective was. She didn’t particularly agree with it, but her place was not to argue… for the moment. Were it up to her, she’d simply let Magneto and his brood have their way with the humans and just go on her merry way, but as long as she was with the X-Men she would at the very least do as she was told, even if she’d make it clear with everyone that she’d rather be doing… just about anything else. Humans simply weren’t worth the effort to her. Why save what was already being phased out for a superior race? ”Of course,” she said with pausing between sentences as if trying to find a way to say them that wouldn’t make her want to hurl. ”Everything else is necessary.”

She took a moment to survey the scene around them, to try and get a feel for where everything was, as Narcissa began speaking into her comm. It seemed that Cyclops, the X-Men’s resident boy scout, was doing his part to distract the Scarlet Witch for the Omegas’ and civilians’ benefit. If she cared enough, she might have called the actions noble, if foolhardy. Nonetheless, the chaos was no less than it was before. It seemed for the moment that Paladin had decided to stop in his tracks; a pity, she would have liked to see what the Scarlet Witch would do to him. Still, it meant the Omegas still had their berserker as cannon fodder should they need it; it took her a moment to convince herself that was a good thing. And naturally, Kraken was still dealing with murderous metal… why did all of this suddenly remind her of a Sisters of Mercy song?

The Latina stepped back rather nonchalantly as the metal construct neared their position and Narcissa ordered her to do so. She promptly let the sun goddess get to work on the creature, turning it into pool of molten metal in moments. ”Note to self: No touching the boss lady.” She gave the Omega leader a playful wink. ”Not unless she wants it, that is.” She looked over at Paladin and shrugged when he came back and spoke aloud, running off just as soon as he arrived, as was looking typical for the boy right about now. Narcissa barked into her comm after the other team leader, asking for a status report; Covet herself was rather curious what the other half of the Omegas themselves were up to.

”Oh, if I have to,” she said with a wry tone as Narcissa commanded her to go help Paladin. Frankly, she’d have been content to just let him get pounded to dust, but orders were orders. Thankfully, that would only last until Kraken joined them. She nodded as the leader added more to her orders, and Covet quickly turned to do as she was told. She was stopped, however, by the last addition. She smiled then, turning to walk backwards as she spoke. ”A toy? How lewd. I like it,” she said in her typically playful tone, then turning her attention back to her target.

She stopped in front of the dog pile surrounding the armored mutant. She crossed her arms and quickly took out an incoming morlock by punching it in the throat, and then the crotch, rather hard with a tendril of hair. She narrowed her eyes on the group making short work of Paladin. For a few moments she was content to just watch the many mutants wail on him. Sure it was cruel, but he left her to die on her own first; what was that one thing Shakespeare said about a woman scorned? Besides, she had to admit it was kind of amusing.

It wasn’t until Kraken showed up that she decided to act, sighing as she did so. She kept her distance, allowing the long reach her powers offered her to do all the work. She wrapped several locks of hair around a smaller morlock’s arms and neck, and winced as she pulled him off Paladin with quite a bit of effort, bringing him to his back on the ground before. Before the morlock could utter a word the vain hair manipulator brought her heel to his chin disdainfully, knocking him out instantly, then twisting her foot as if putting out a cigarette. In the new coming mutant empire, these disgusting mutant hobos will definitely be the serfs.

”You know, I should just let these pieces of s**t here kill you!” she shouted at Paladin as she knocked another morlock down, grabbing him by the back of the scalp and slamming his head against the wet asphalt with a rather thick lock of her hair, then robbing him of the 2x4 he held in his hand. She doubted the head wound would be lethal, but he would definitely need medical attention. ”Abandoning me when I needed you? You’re damn lucky Solaris wants you alive!”

It was then that, to Covet’s chagrin, a mutant came up behind her and decided to shut her up. Admittedly, she was somewhat distracted by her talking, and she didn’t notice when the rather deformed man flanked her side and punched her in the face with a silvery rusted knuckle duster. The blow hit her across the lips and nose, and rocked her backward almost hard enough to knock her off her feet. She quickly brought her hand to her face, then looked at the blood on her fingers quickly washed away by the heavy rain. Her expression quickly turned to a sneer, and her eyes had a fire behind them that all of her team had yet to see. ”You ugly, disgusting piece of s**t!” she shouted as she swung the 2x4 she’d stolen from the previous morlock with her hair, hard enough to break the cheap wood board in half and knock the man down. ”You don’t cut the Mona Lisa, you don’t chip the Statue of David, and you don’t ******** punch a work of art as damn perfect as my face!” She quickly quelled any attempt the man could come up with the fight back as she brought the wood back down on his face several more times, leaving it a damn mess; but in her opinion, with the face he previously had, it was an improvement. She quickly closed the distance and wrapped two more tendrils of hair around his neck, then continuously slammed the back of his head against the concrete over and over again, choking him as well. The viciousness in her face was downright scary.

It was Narcissa’s voice that stopped her from going over the edge and ending the poor defenseless morlock’s pathetic life right there. She turned away from the Scarlet Witch’s general direction, focusing on the group of morlocks once again. She took two out by grabbing them by the sides of their heads and knocking their heads together twice using her hair, then kicked another on her side. Between the three of them, the morlocks were not too much trouble anymore. Behind her she noticed the absolutely blinding bright light; it was almost as it was a bright sunny day once again for a few moments. It was bright enough that, even with the source behind her, she had to squint until it was gone.

The bright light stunned several morlocks coming in to attack her, and she quickly brushed them aside with a few strikes of her hair and her legs. She looked for a moment to see a prone Scarlet Witch, nodding in Narcissa’s direction then. She called out to the other two then. ”C’mon, Solaris said to regroup!” Her hair split up into several impromptu arms once again, searching ground for several weapons. She picked up a crowbar and ran toward Narcissa’s direction. She stopped as the Omega leader addressed her, waving the crowbar around playfully. ”Got it.”

Now it was her running toward one of the world’s most powerful reality warpers with what was essentially a stick. Except this time it wasn’t as stupid a strategy, considering the Witch’s vulnerable position. She neared the red-clad woman and, without hesitation, smacked the crowbar against the back of her head. The Witch, powerful as she was, was knocked out instantly. She called out toward Narcissa then with a wry smile, ”Would that be a home run?!”

Hopefully their resident speedster would keep Quicksilver distracted enough to keep her from getting hit before she could do anything about it.

((OOC: SL asked me to knock Scarlet Witch out like this. Also, to whoever's autoing Quicksilver, feel free to have him hit her in whatever way you please; I figure with his borderline creepy(waaaaaay beyond creepy in the Ultimate universe) devotion to his sister, Pietro would want revenge on her.))

ALPHA:At the mall riot : Making sure everyone else gets out..

User ImageGideon's blue orbs scanned the area, letting his hearing draw out for a moment before shifting focus to his heightened sense of smell. Creed was well versed in the quiet approach, so hearing wouldn't do him any good unless Creed wanted to be heard. So scent was the best thing in this case – along with his eyes. Sniffing the air, Gideon's brain automatically sifted through the information to find what he was searching for. So far he only caught what he had smelled earlier, and with all the other stuff it left it hard to pinpoint.

He heard replies back from the bomb squad as he was referring to the group who dealt with the explosive. At first Alex requested his help, so his sensory sweep of the area was halted as he had began to make his way to the group. But he was stopped a few steps later by Bianca's voice saying they had it under control between the group there. "Gotcha. You all be careful." Gideon said; it was nice someone other than Bella was worried about him being safe. He turned – hearing something crash in another part of the mall. Turning to see where it was, he found with smoke and debris it was hard to pick out quickly, especially since he hadn't been focused on the sound when he heard it. He was distracted momentarily by the fight between Pack and the Hydra agent; seconds later, a scent reached him... the precise smell that he had been searching for earlier. His attention shifted from the shape shifting hydra agent, and his eyes locked on the one he had been looking for, but it was too late. At that moment, he saw Christian hitting the ground and clearly had to be heavily injured if Sabertooth was involved. Gideon began to sprint towards Sabertooth, fully intending on laying into the larger feral mutant heavily.

Before he was even remotely near Sabertooth (who seemed unaware of Gideon's approach), the beast was leveled by Rogue. Gideon stopped in his tracks, looking to where Sabertooth had flown through. Without the aid of an indestructible skeleton, Sabertooth's healing was likely to pull out. The broken bones in his face along with lost teeth would take some time to heal. And even though through the corner of his eye, he saw Rogue leave quickly through a portal with the injured Omega mutant. Who was soon followed after by one of the other Omega's. He heard Rogue's message as he stood watching out making sure the other Alpha's made it through safe. He saw the one Rogue called Gateway; Gideon could instantly tell this man meant no threat it was as if his presence radiated that he meant no harm.

Gideon was playing vanguard, watching as the others left through the portal, though he had been fighting every fiber of his being to keep from running through the portal to check on Bella. But he knew that if he did without making sure all the others were through, she would be even more pissed at him then she already was or had been earlier. Gideon had been aware of the Hydra Agent's approach, and displayed it by growling lightly just before she invaded his personal space.

Gideon moved to make sure he stood between her and the portal the others had been leaving through. She said they should leave clearly meaning him with her, but Gideon wasn't planning on letting her go anywhere without him and even then, their destination would be nowhere near the school. "I'm not leaving till they are all out." Gideon said clearly intending on the one with the portals hearing him. He then addressed the man known as Gateway. "I won't be leaving that way. So once the last of the others are through you can leave me here."

"Oh you and I will be going somewhere. And depending on what you have to say when we do will determine whether or not you continue breathing." Gideon said simply. Even though he wasn't sure of her motives just yet. Given she hadn't tried to take him back yet meant she wasn't completely mental. As even though some were injured numbers were certainly stacked against her. Once the last in the mall was through the portal he spoke to the Hydra Agent. "Let's go my ride's this way." Gideon said shoving her not so gently in the direction of his car by the loading ramps. Though it wasn't hard enough to make her lose her footing or harm her it was enough to tell her that's the way they were heading.

Raising his comm to his mouth, Gideon signaled Rogue. "Last inside the mall are clear. I have an unexpected visitor to deal with. Please make sure she is alright." He said knowing fully well Rogue would understand who, exactly the 'she' he was referring to was.

Felix listened to Cissa's message. Capturing the man was not completely undoable however he wasn't sure how he was going to do it just yet. Beating him into submission was the most likely choice at the moment. "Understood Solaris. I shall do my best. No promises." Felix stood his ground having a staring contest with Quicksilver as they were both obviously trying to think of what to do next. His hands tightened on the two nightsticks briefly before he took in a deep breath and let it out.

His teammates were doing something in the distance though Felix was to preoccupied to really see what was going on. To turn his head would mean giving Quicksilver the opening needed to put him down for the moment. Neither man said a word as they continued staring unblinkingly. To blink in a battle like this where speed was dominant could potentially give the opponent an opening. As neither seemed willing to move Felix sighed and did the exact thing he knew he shouldn't and glanced to his teammates.

The action was done intentionally however the resulting punch to his gut was still unwelcome. Even preparing himself as he did still resulted in pain. Reacting on instinct he lashed out with the nightstick in his right hand hearing a satisfying impact as it hit the other man's ribs. Swinging with the left one Quicksilver hit his arm sending the nightstick out of his hand. Struggling with the other man and exchanging blows at a high speed Felix found himself outclassed in the speed department. Still he wasn't so outclassed that he couldn't keep up.

It was slightly disorienting however. Receiving his fair share of lumps and handing out his own the other nightstick was still firmly in his hand finding it's towards Quicksilver often. As they fought however a message from Narcissa went over the comm about not looking towards Scarlet Witch. That served to stop the struggle immediately for the time being. Felix put some distance between him and Quicksilver who also heard the message.

Turning his head away from Scarlet Witch a flash of very bright light was easily seen even looking the other way. Quicksilver was now looking towards his sister worried. Felix turned to see her eyes seemingly sizzling from the distance. Was she blind? What had Narcissa done to the woman? Shock registered on his face at the woman's state before he felt himself get hit in the chest and sent to the ground by Quicksilver. Grunting as he hit next to one of the downed officers something caught his eyes.

The cop had a taser gun on him just waiting to be utilized. Grabbing it and standing up he spotted Quicksilver moving to attack Orchid as the woman stood over the beautiful form of the unconscious Scarlet Witch. "Look out!" Running forward he aimed the taser mid run at Quicksilver's back and squeezed the trigger. It planted itself firmly in Quicksilver's back and released the voltage stored up. Felix wasn't sure if Quicksilver's attack on Orchid had been successful however as he couldn't see her from his position.

A short time later Quicksilver was on the ground having been put down by the taser. It seemed Orchid had been hit by him after all. Felix stopped next to the bodies of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch placing his right foot on Quicksilver's back taking a few deep breathes to catch his breath. "One Magneto child delivered as requested Solaris. Sorry about not stopping him in time red. He caught me off guard once Solaris blinded his sister." Looking down at Scarlet Witch he thought that it was too bad she was an enemy.

Were she not and had he not just taken care of her brother he might have asked her to dinner. Still it seemed that was not meant to be for the time being. "Dart by the way to those who are unaware." He figured no one besides Narcissa knew after all as he had no idea of anyone else's name. "So what is next on the agenda?" It was pretty obvious what that would be however Felix didn't want to assume. He wasn't looking forward to what came next.

Putting a hand on his jaw he moved it a little finding it to be a little sore from his fight with Quicksilver. Had Scarlet Witch not have been taken down the battle could have been going on still. He was thankful to the others for providing the distraction even if it was unintentional.

Even though Moonlight did not say a word, Alex could tell she had heard her. Because soon, she erected an orange rectangle around the group. However, the sensory adaptor had no idea that the shield could be going around more than just them. Her main focus was on getting out of here. “Thank you Moonlight. We should be a bit safer now…” Hopefully. She kept the last word from leaving her lips, but she knew the others were probably thinking it. Thinking that while they felt safe now, things could get worse. While Alex hated thinking that way, this day only proved the truth in those words. What had been a simple call in to control a riot turned into an all-out battle for survival. Admittedly, it had only reaffirmed in the sensory adaptor that she still had a lot of work ahead of her. I need to approve not only for myself, but for the others. For while I don’t plan to stay with the X-men forever, my abilities need to be honed so they can help me and others….and what better way to approve them than throwing myself into situations where my abilities will be needed? Alex did not think on this long as they continued onwards, carrying the unconscious Allegra with them.

Then as they had moved along, the white haired male(Gideon) had chimed in through the comm. Alex had answered him quickly before talking to the others. Soon, Opaque responded back to her words. Her words sounded reasonable to Alex. If they didn’t need help, they didn’t need to be pulling that help away from people that needed it. “Alright. I will let you take care of that.” Thus, Opaque commed the white haired male(Gideon), telling him they could handle it. The rest of what Opaque said caused the sensory adaptor to raise an eyebrow. Her head tilted as well as the group continued to move in an attempt to get out of there. “Are you two friends?” Alex hadn’t noticed her slip up until after the words had left her mouth. Her cheeks heated up slightly as her blue green eyes looked down at the floor. “S-sorry. That was improper of me to have asked such a nosy question. Please forgive me.” The French girl could only hope Opaque did not take offense to her inquiry. After all, the question had been innocent enough. But for now, Alex could not focus on her dumb social moment. She needed to keep her mind on the task at hand. Due to her wandering mind however, the French girl knew that would not be easy.

Soon, everyone in the group, that was conscious anyway, noticed the floor started to sink. Opaque had commed everyone, telling them to make their retreat even quicker if possible. Then, out of curiosity Alex had asked her question. At Opaque’s head shaking, a small gulp left her throat. “I see…Well, that only makes it more imperative that we escape in as quick of a manner as possible.” As they continued onwards, they were soon informed about the portal. Luckily, the portal had not been hard to find. Then again, it was quite big and the strange looking man in front of it made it even easier to locate. Her moment of expressing her thoughts only got her a nod from Opaque. However, she did not feel insulted by the lack of verbal response. After all, there was a time and a place for admiring fascinating things like portals. Unfortunately, this was not one of those times. Thus, after the French girl had made her comment about them leaving, Glitter gave a verbal agreement and they were off.

The transition between one place to another felt strange and disorientating. One minute they had been at the mall. The next, they were in front of the Academy as if nothing had happened. It had seemed that way until Alex noticed all the medical people on standby. But even then, that feeling of disorientation would not go away. Like dew that clung unto the grass blades in the morning, the sensation of thinking she should be in one place and not another would not leave her. However, this did not mean Alex suddenly let go of Allegra or stopped listening to the world around her. In fact, the sensory adaptor seemed almost hyper sensitive as Glitter told them they should get Allegra to the infirmary. Her grip even tightened on Allegra as they moved, Alex making sure none of her senses were enhanced. I am not sure I would be able to handle all the overwhelming sensations if any of my senses were above normal right now. She was sure if they were enhanced without her knowing, the one sense that would cause her to collapse would be her hearing. All the sounds of hurried footsteps and people asking them what had happened would have driven her nuts. But, just like Opaque, the French girl kept her mouth shut. I am not in the mood for explaining today to anyone right now…

Eventually, they made it to the infirmary. It wasn’t long until they were relieved of Allegra and started to work on healing her. I hope she will be alright. Looking around nervously, the sensory adaptor allowed herself to be checked over to make sure she was alright. Once they gave the all clear, Alex quickly left the infirmary. She wasn’t able to stand the sight of injured people all around her. Most seemed to be alright, or had injuries hidden underneath to where Alex could not see them. But, the French girl knew she would become queasy if she saw tons of open wounds bleeding their little hearts out. Thus, as Alex went down the hallway, her eyes noticed Opaque lying against the wall. Normally, the French girl would have done something to start up a conversation with her. However, she, like Opaque, was too tired for socializing. Out of politeness though, Alex gave a simple smile and nod of acknowledgement as she passed by. She needed to find a place she could crash for a bit. A place she could close her eyes and relax in before she was possibly needed once more. Hopefully, I will not be needed for a while…But, who knows? I had not expected a mission at all today, and yet I got thrown into one on my first day as an Alpha. Thus, Alex did not push her luck, soon finding herself in her old room.

For some odd reason, she knew she had a new room, but had not been given any information about it. All she could do was wait for it with all her things packed up nearby her old bed. I am sure once this is all over, I will have some idea as to where I will be staying from now on. For now, sleeeep! Her delicate body locked the door behind her and moved towards the bed. She took off her comm, her fingers moving across it to where she would least be able to hear it go off. Also, as another precaution, Alex enhanced her hearing to where the sensory adaptor would hopefully be able to hear any voices on the comm loud and clear. With this taken care of, she set it down on the floor and lied down on the bed. Almost instantly, her eyes closed and her body relaxed. Soon, her consciousness fled from reality and entered the sweet realm of pleasant dreams.

When good ideas turn to bad ones, and then into good ones again

It took a baseball bat to the back of the head to realize that perhaps this was not his best idea.

The concussive force knocked him about, he went reeling towards another member of the mob whom Roland sent flying to the ground with an impromptu shoulder check. Even experiencing a likely concussion, Roland could still think on his feet. He'd kept his blade out of this fight, something like that could be lost easily in this mess, also he wanted to do this by the book (i.e. not killing everyone, despite the ease of it). That was a trait that was both a salvation, and a bit of a curse. He could survive in dangerous scenarios, if he could get a nickel for every time his quick thinking had gotten him saved form a beating or getting killed, he'd probably be rich as all can be. But at the same time, his quick thinking tended to lead him into situations like the one he was in. A 12 on 1 brawl, hands and feet just about every which place around him. He'd gotten in some brutal hits, but of course two hands are always beaten by 24. And so now a baseball bat had come across his way, meeting the back of his skull. He kept thrashing about, keeping his head above the proverbial water. If he sunk, he'd be done.

A saving grace came in the form of Kraken's voice, calling for non-lethal hits. He let out a small sigh of relief, though that could have been the wind being knocked out of him, and continued on.

"Tell that to them Kraken!" he called back, getting a second wind as he kicked one in the kneecap, the sound coming out his leg would be considered gross by normal person standards. Then again, he along with his teammates weren't exactly "normal people".

He then heard the wonderful voice of Covet, attempting to chew him out as she lent her support. The group had begun to disband, or as how Roland liked to think of it "flee in terror." Though most had left, just one remained for him to handle. Punching him in the stomach, he grabbed him and started to bring his head into his knee.

"Abandoning you when you need me? What am I your teammate or your babysitter? You're a big girl, you can take care of yourself." he responded between hitting the guy with his knee, "Or does Miss Ivory Tower need her hand held?" She then went on a rant of her own beauty, comparing herself to the Mona Lisa. He then immediately heard the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." play in his skull, it certainly was, and he did not see perfect. He saw stuck up, spoiled, and simply too damn self-confident for her own good.

He'd once thought of his team leader Narcissa in the same sense, some stuck up princess that had no grasp of the real world. After talking with Dr. McCoy and some of the other older members of the Academy, he'd come to respect her a bit more. She was wealthy, but that didn't mean she was ignorant. The woman was astoundingly intelligent, and carried her words like a sheathed blade. Speaking of Solaris, she came over the calm and told everyone to avert their eyes from the Scarlet Witch. Despite the fact that he was not even looking in that direction, he kept his eye shut for whatever amount of time he deemed necessary.

He then opened his eyes to see Covet knocking out The Scarlet Witch with a crack to the head with a crowbar, looking off towards the crowds of people evacuating, he realized that something was amiss in his immediate vicinity.

For a moment he was quite puzzled, it was silvery-grey, with a few inches of black on it, and had some crimson dripping off it. Coming out of combat mode, it soon dawned on him that he in fact had a machete going through his shoulder. The pain came to him like a b***h slap, but he muscled through it. He then gingerly grabbed the handle, and quickly pulled it out of him.

This wasn't the first time something like this had happened, but it did not happen all too many times. As he removed the weapon from his shoulder, he willed some of the material he conjured (Summoned? Manifested? He had not a clue) for his weapons to fill in where the wound was. That would stop bleeding for the moment, and based on the size of material, he likely had some more time to keep it in until he could get help. He then saw Quicksilver drop like a ton of bricks courtesy of a well aimed Taser shot from Dart.

He made a light jog over to the unconscious siblings, "Good shot, Paladin's the codename." taking the machete and placed it gently along The Scarlet Witch's neck, the sharp blade nestling along her jugular. He placed a hand by the top of her head, ready to also snap her neck if he had to. He didn't really notice if Covet was injured, Quicksilver had made the effort to retaliate for her crude, yet effective, way of pacifying the reality warper but right now he was just focused on doing what had to be done.

Looking to Narcissa, "If she does anything other than breathe when she gets up, I'm taking her head off." he said to her in the most unsettling calm Roland had been during the whole affair.

Omega:Knoxx's group: Scatter brained.

User ImageLillian smirked as Knoxx rushed passed her heading with purpose towards Avalanche. She knew the fiery red head could scrap with the best of them. Sure if the girl got time to watch someone fight she could pick up the moves seen like she had practiced them for years. Though of course Knoxx's ability also covered other things besides just fighting, she could watch anything and long as her body could handle it she could do it.

"Damn it!" Lillian cursed loudly as the van exploded behind the brotherhood member. She wanted so bad to see the car smash into him. Probably a bit of the morlocks personality coming through, much like earlier when she laughed after falling. Sure Lillian was a good natured person but in a situation like this she knew to be all business. But that was one of the draw backs of her ability that she had to deal with the person she drains personality coming through. Over the years she has learned to suppress that part but it was still there.

Lillian heard Psyche's voice come in over her comm asking about tossing more cars. "Yeah but I think Knoxx and Measure wouldn't like that option." She said as she saw Kerrigan unleashing quite the impressive display battering Avalanche. Aren was quick to aid the red head against the brotherhood member. He was now an impressive size though from here she wasn't sure just how tall the native was at present. Lillian hadn't expected that kind of combat out of the native. Between the two of them Avalanche was taken out in short order. But not before the brotherhood member lashed out with his ability. The uncontrolled attack leveling the building they had been fighting by. She had seen Aren dive out of the way.

Thanks to the uncontrolled attack some of the other previously damaged buildings shook. Lillian turned to see Rave heading up to attempt and aid Psyche as the building she was on was in really bad shape. She didn't know he could do that with his ability. That definitely meant she would need to take sometime to learn more about what her teammates could do.

Next thing Lillian knew she was face down on the ground something heavy on top of her. She laid there a moment cursing to herself. She probably would get an ear full from Solaris. Grunting as she pushed herself off the ground. The chunk of building on her being shrugged off like it was only a pillow. She rubbed her head she was going to be sore after this. Probably develop some bruises and wouldn't be surprised to find herself bleeding if she checked. "Mental note next time don't absorb someone so scatter brained." Lillian muttered to herself. Normally she wouldn't of been so effected by the morlock beyond the power gain and possible skills known. She chalked it up to the extended contact.

"Everyone okay?" Lillian said into her comm to those that were in her group.

Omega: Courthouse -- Can we go home yet?

User Image

As soon as her back hit the ground, an involuntary grunt escaping the redhead, her com roared to life with the demands from her leader that she report in. Even though the wind was knocked out of her, Kerrigan immediately started to get back to her feet, as the other members of her team stepped up to take care of Avalanche. Aren in particular stepped up to the plate, growing in size as Maddy provided the cover from above that the redhead knew would always be there when the time called for it. The Omega size-shifter flipped onto the Brotherhood member's shoulders, Kerrigan only able to smile as he clapped his hands around their enemy's ears. His move, no matter how ridiculous, did it's work, and Avalanche stumbled backwards as he cast her a crooked grin.

"You're bad," she said simply, watching as he landed a powerful kick with his over-sized foot in Avalanche's chest. A few moves later, and the earthmover was covered in a pile of rubble, Kerrigan bringing her arms up to shield her face from the residual dust and debris that kicked up from the collapsing wall. As she turned, she saw the others taking care of the precariously dangling Psyche. However, it was a sound behind her that caught her attention, turning to see Lillian's form disappear underneath something heavy. The redhead took a few jogging steps toward the girl, a sigh of relief escaping her when she saw that the girl was alright. She asked if everyone was alright, Kerrigan's green eyes scanning over the group to make sure that everyone was accounted for. She was still waiting for confirmation that everything was fine with Maddy, though she was pretty powerless to do anything about that situation. Call it the downside of having a physical-based power. Activating the comm in her suit, she spoke to everyone in her group, keeping a special eye on the apparently buried Avalanche. She just didn't trust him as far as she could throw him, even if he was unconscious and under a pile of bricks.

"Copycat, we're fine. I'm going to report to Solaris you guys make sure that Psyche has her feet back on the ground, and scan the area for any lingering civilians. Keep an eye on Rocky - and watch out for anymore party crashers. Good job, guys."

Switching the channel to Narcissa, Kerrigan's voice hid the exhaustion she was feeling from the whole situation, as she was so used to doing. There would be time for rest later - as of right now they were still on the job. Sure, they were wet, tired, and some of them had just fallen off of a building, but wasn't that what they signed up with the Omegas for? It sure as heck wasn't for the vacation time.

"Knoxx, reporting in. We've neutralized Avalanche. The rest of the team are working on getting any lingering spectators out of the area and making sure that the baddies stay down. Do you need our help on your end?"

Kat chuckled softly when X-20 growled at her approach. The sound was uncultivated… His file didn’t do him any justice at all—How feral he was. Reflective cat eyes glittered at him in that particular fashion that either stated she was feeling playful…Or intended on clawing his eyes out. Neither option would bode well for the white haired man before her. She circled him without thought or care, the arrogance of her feline form not yet having dissipated. Sometimes she kept nothing…Sometimes she kept the ears…Sometimes the tail, or whiskers. Eyesight or instincts…Sometimes the attitude.

She neared him, inhaling deeply… He smelled… He smelled of the brunette, who’s blood had so deeply distracted the man wolf in the beginning of the fight... Before it smelled like someone else had tapped a vein and let it pour like a river. She was all over him, like a second skin. “Someone has been a naughty little clone-assassin…”

Katarina was silent for a moment as he threatened her, still moving about him…Her expression was curious…Filled with a certain amount of disbelief as he guarded the portals like a good watchdog. Waiting for the other X-Men to escape. Had he… Had he remained affiliated with them all this time? Did he hide among them? Was that the way to escape the clutches of HYDRA? She turned olive-gold eyes on him that suddenly softened and re-shaped into perfect human eyes… Gunmetal blue. “You sound menacing enough…But I’ve been more afraid of mice skittering under floorboards. I thought you were untamed...But you’re all…Broken. It’s…”

“Disappointing.”

Her nose wrinkled at this aspect, and she glanced back towards the portal…And then back towards her target. ”Those mutants… They hold your leash now?”

Her face seemed to drop at this revelation… Surely a being as powerful as X-20 was able to live freely… Who had the power to hold him prisoner? Not even HYDRA had succeeded in that…Not for long, at any rate. Maybe she should have followed the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent...She knew enough, that would possibly stay their hand in executing her. Possibly...Her good hand rose up and ran through her dark hair, drawing it away from her face for a moment as she breathed outward, giving him a sidelong glance when the portal closed and he ordered/shoved her towards his ‘ride’.

A smirk crossed her seemingly delicate human features as she caught herself and stuck her feet to the ground—Refusing to be pushed around like a child. Her eyes flickered with barely contained amusement at his brusque nature. The creature she’d read about would have sliced her open without asking questions…This X-20 wanted to give her a lift? She winked blithely in his direction, innuendo easily falling from her lips. “Oh, I’ll give you a ride.”

“And don’t touch me—Unless you plan on making it worth my while.”,
Katarina spoke smoothly. Though it should have sounded like a taunt…It simply wasn’t. The slick city girl attitude had been taught to her, by various professors and teachers within HYDRA. It was a cover…One that hid the destructive, iron willed creature underneath. What might have sounded coy to some, would easily sound like a threat to anyone that listened hard enough.

She turned around and started to walk the other way. “I have my own transportation. You couldn’t pay me enough to leave my bike behind in this…Reject retail hellhole.”

Katarina paused, a small, almost innocent smile moving across her lips. “You can ride b***h, if you’d like.”

Name: Emma Frost
Location: Xavier Mansion - Sub Levels

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Emma removed the metal helmet from her flaxen head, sighing softly as she passed it off to the Cuckoos’ who resumed monitoring the battle with Scott and her Omega’s. Cerebro had no trouble traveling that far. It seemed for the moment that with Avalanche and the Scarlet Witch down for the count… They had the upper hand. Her smooth brow furrowed for a moment as she rest a perfectly manicured hand on her hip, a million thoughts sweeping through her. Strategies… What was Magneto’s endgame? That damnable helmet of his was always a nuisance… And he never told his subordinates enough to be of any use. ~Call for me immediately if the tide turns.~

~Yes Miss Frost.~, came the response of several perfect blond students all at once.

The doors snapped open with a metallic swish, before snapping closed behind her. The infirmary was on the floor above them… And from the cries, the panicked thoughts of the nurses… She could only imagine the chaos going on up there. The Alpha’s were normally the team that came back undamaged…This time, half the team seemed battered and abused. In some cases, knocking at deaths door.

The familiar scent of wet dog met her nostrils, as well as something…Disgustingly campy and swamp like. Cigar smoke made her nose wrinkle, and she rolled her eyes heavenward. There were too many sensitive instruments in the sub-levels that could be damaged by smoke. “Wolverine—What have I told you about smoking in the mansion?”

“Can it, blondie.”, the canuck growled out, not sparing the Headmistress an actual rebuttal.

Emma frowned, but a quick scan of his thoughts caused her to nod her head slowly as she stepped into the room…Eyeing the pathetic creature that Logan had secured behind glowing bars. This was an interesting turn of events… She hadn’t at all expected a hand up in this fight. Not when things looked so bleak. Toad was a minion…But a minion that occasionally knew more than he should—And was easily manipulated. “And here I thought that retched stench was just you.”

She reached out, her hand turning to diamond as she did so—Pinching the cherry out of the cigar. Her foot crushed it as it hit the metal floor, putting it out efficiently. “As it turns out…It’s only partially you. Good work.”

“Head to the infirmary…They might need your blood for a transfusion. If the situation between Scott and the others degenerates…You’ll be the first to know. I’d send you now…But I’m not in the mood to bury anymore of our youth.”

She turned on her heel, the only sound greeting her that of Logan’s steady growl. Emma was confident in herself to turn back into flesh and blood as she walked away, headed swiftly towards the War Room. Logan was many things…Brash and violent. But Emma knew well he would never deliberately place any of the schools wards in harms way…Even though his want to slice up Sabertooth and Mystique was nearly overwhelming…He’d softened, over the years.

The students would come first.

~Any injured Alpha’s or Omega’s—Report immediately to the infirmary. Anyone else involved in the incident at the shopping center…Please report straight away to the War Room. ~

Normally she would have waited for field reports to come in from the team leaders… But there wasn’t time. Keeping an eye both on the school, and two separate locations had left her with major gaps in the progression of the event at the mall. Emma still wasn’t sure what Magneto had been after… Was the point merely to terrify humans? If that was the case…It seemed a little mundane for him. There was something she was missing… And she would need the students input to help figure out what.

When lies turn into truth... I sacrificed for you
You say that I'm frozen-- But what can I do?
It tears me apart that you will never know...

Narcissa ignored Orchid’s first comment, too focused on cleanly burning away the metal gutters to wonder what kind of innuendo the woman was passing in her direction. The blond goddess gave the woman a piercing stare as the hellfire faded from her gaze, stepping from the pool of molten previously galvanized steel… “No touching, when I say—Because I don’t have any use on the Omega’s for amputees.”

“As lovely as you are—That’s the wrong kind of fetish for me.”

The details of what would happen after she assisted the boy with the Octopus mutation varied… But she was quite sure that Covet got the idea. Narcissa was operating on a guess… An educated guess, but it was still a gamble. Her theory was that if the Scarlet Witch couldn’t see or feel it coming… She couldn’t deflect the blow. A physical hit was the most obvious way to ensure that… And her ability was just perfect, in that she wouldn’t see anything at all for a few weeks.

She left Covet to it then, shaking her head at her petulance… And apparent ability to turn everything she said into something far more dirty than she’d actually intended it. What an enjoyable girl.

She was used to hearing small words from Jacen every now and again, that weren’t in her British vocabulary. Initially she’d been suspicious of it…In her experience, the only reason why someone spoke another language to someone else, in front of you, was to cut you out of the loop. But time, context clues, and for the most part, learning to trust her elder team members (And copious hours googling basic phrases of this and that) lessened her apprehension. “Don’t mention it…”

Her eyes did a quick sweep over the small cuts that dotted him… Narcissa was going to enjoy bringing the Scarlet Witch back down to Earth.

For a moment she was confused as to why he mentioned a tetanus shot, for some reason, the mention of something so normal going straight over her head. Unable to help herself, she snickered, the sound not likely heard through the rain. “If contracting tetanus is the worst of our worries today… Things are looking up.”

Narcissa heard the sound of something crashing not far away. At first she thought it was thunder from the storm Ororo had brought in. But glass breaking, concrete cracking told her otherwise. The faint tremors of the asphalt beneath her feet made her wish that Knoxx would hurry with her report…She had a distinct sinking feeling that whatever happened had left a large mess that the City of New York was not going to be happy with cleaning up. But rationally she knew that there would be no way to hurry her red headed sister-in-arms…Kerrigan would never make her wait for something like that, unless it was necessary.

So the sun goddess would simply have to utilize this…Patience, everyone was so keen on teaching her. Personally, she thought it was a polite way of saying that she should settle for mediocrity… As if that was going to happen.

Her comm went off, but it was not the voice she expected…Daylia? That sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach seemed to bottom out the moment the codename ‘Sabertooth’ crossed the airwaves. She was forced to exhale slowly before responding. “Roger that Chameleon…”

“You left… Is everyone back base-side already?”
, Narcissa questioned, fearing the worst when Daylia mentioned Victor Creed… She remembered when he’d come with the Marauders to attack the Academy… She remembered very vividly, how he’d nigh gutted someone that was no longer with them. “If so--Make sure you stay there.”

Narcissa didn’t ask, deliberately how Christian was. He was one of her Omega’s and therefore she was concerned… But she couldn’t know how he was…Or how he wasn’t—Until the fight was over.

She was silent for a moment, watching Covet stroll forward with a crowbar. There was a certain level of satisfaction she had, hearing the sickening sound of metal to soft human tissue and bone… Cold glacier eyes looked out over the chaos, catching sight of the metal ball rolling around again. Magneto seemed… Far off, focused on tormenting the Senator and his cabinet. Had he even noticed, that they’d taken down his daughter?

The golden blond jumped back a step when a blur caught her eye… Something headed towards Covet. Her eyes blazed as a ball of light filled her outstretched palm… Only to relax as her newest member, Dart, tazed what was apparently Quicksilver. For a moment she was tempted to let the pure white light in her hand fly regardless… And while she wasn’t above shooting an unconscious man in the back—He was leverage. Which, was far more valuable and X-Men friendly than a smoldering carcass.

“Good work.”, she complimented those closest to her… They would do well to take stock of any kind words she had for them. They didn’t come frequently… But when credit was due, she was occasionally willing to pay it.

Even Roland seemed to bounce back from his dog fight with the pack of mongrel Morlocks and took it upon himself to secure the prisoner—Correction, their…Unconscious adversary. Good thinking, bad weapon choice. He caught her eye, and mentioned that he would take the woman’s head off if she did anything other than breathe… “Not quite, Paladin.”

“Throw the knife far and hard away. The Mistress of Magnetism over there will just as soon drive it into one of our hearts than let it remain near his precious daughter. These two wastes of space are bargaining chips.”
, the sun goddess reached into the black leather of her uniform’s jacket, and removed a slim black case. They were glowing green bands about eight inches long. She tossed two to Paladin, and two to Dart. No part of them was metal. “Use those to bind their hands and feet… Quicksilver won’t be much of a problem if he can’t move. And Miss Scarlet over here… I don’t think she’ll be waking up anytime soon.”

The sun goddess looked around then… Not about to start talking to god forsaken—Bat s**t crazy Erik Lehnsherr without some form of serious Senior X-Men back up. Not if she could help it… The last time they’d met, it had been courtesy of one of his lackeys… And he’d thoroughly meant to recruit her. And last she’d checked, he still did. Narcissa was confident...But sure as hell, not stupid.

Speak of the devil, Storm dropped out of the sky like an avenging angel—And Scott seemed to pull himself together… His uniform in tatters. He looked pretty beaten… Narcissa resisted the urge to bite her lip. Should he even be attempting to talk to someone as powerful as Magneto—Without being at full strength? He did have a team of Junior-Squad X-Brats behind him… But Narcissa remembered the hell he’d rained on New York…

He could tear through them if he wanted…Tear them apart, in the blink of an eye.

“We can use them to get the Senator free…”, Narcissa intoned coolly…Sure that the wheels in both Ororo and Scott’s heads were spinning, already processing the implications. The possible ramifications of baiting Magneto with his own children. “I’m not sure how much the man deserves to live…But it won’t help anything, if he turns up dead by mutant hands.”

“I know.”, Cyclops responded to the sun goddess, expression worn—Tired. And the night wasn’t yet over.

Suddenly Narcissa’s comm chirped in with the report she’d requested of KnoxxStorm remained serene as ever, watching Magneto from afar. The African weather witch was ever vigilant… Wanting to be ready to move, if necessary. Once Magneto realized what they’d done… Oh, he’d be terribly…Displeased.

“Call over the rest of your team Solaris.”

Narcissa didn’t pause, immediately raising her comm to her lips. “Knoxx—Team Omega…. We’re regrouping. Rally on me… Our location is to the West of the building we touched down on. Don’t cross in front of the court house…You’ll make yourselves a target.”

Suddenly Scott started to cough hard, hacking up red phlegm into his hand…God, the Scarlet Witch really had done number on him. Storm moved towards him, but the sun goddess remained stoic…Eyes trained on Magneto. She wasn’t going to caught aware if he decided to stop screwing around and attack them. For the moment he was content to listen to the Senator and his Cabinet scream.

ALPHALeaving the mall:.......

User ImageReally this Hydra agent had some guts especially since she clearly knew who he was and what he was capable of. Well probably only an idea of what he was capable of since the files on him are a few years old. But her body language didn't show signs of hostility at the moment. Don't be fooled he was certain she knew how to handle herself, one wasn't a pet of Madame Hydra and not know how to.

She had actually moved in close and sniffed him. Really that was kind of funny could of been a side effect from her transformation. Though he had to restrain himself from simply gutting her before she knew it was happening. The Hydra Agent had moved in close enough that unless she could teleport or had super speed the likely hood of his claws piercing her flesh were good. Luckily Gideon restrained himself. He wouldn't doubt she would see weakness in that since before he would of gutted her and went about his day without a second thought. Over all it was best to ignore her comment about him being a naughty clone-assassin. Not knowing what kind of training she had in understanding things via scent he couldn't accurately judge what she meant by it. Though he was fairly certain she picked up Bella's scent on him given how much time he and the Alpha leader had spent together in close proximity.

He hadn't been bothered by her act of bravado after he threatened her. She was after all someone who had spent time around Madame Hydra. It would naturally take much more then simple words to intimidate her. If it didn't she wouldn't not of lasted long under the head b***h of Hydra. It was almost comical to Gideon being compared to a common mouse. He was different while he wouldn't say tamed, Gideon would say content at where he is. He wasn't owned by Xavier's, nor was he on a leash. No he was free to leave any time he chose. They're a few he could think of that would be glad to see him leave well one mainly. The Wolverine clone only stuck around really for one reason and one reason only. He stayed for Bella someone who managed to open his heart and take a great hold there. Before that Gideon as X-20 didn't believe he even had a heart and least not in the metaphorical sense when it came to love. Really that was an utterly foreign concept at the time to the Hydra experiment.

He just shook his head at the comments. There was nothing he needed to explain to her. She was after all only still alive because he wanted information from her. Knowledge on if Hydra was after him to bring him back once more since a few years ago they failed to turn the Xmen completely against him. That resulted in unfortunately a fire fight on the front lawn of the school grounds. Just as in this situation Bella was shot back then. Lucky for those in the mall she had a much greater control over her abilities and didn't send out a small area of sonic force. Gideon could remember his ears bursting over and over as he calmed her down that day. On this day she was hurt and there wasn't anything he could do for her other then do his best to keep the others safe. He failed a few of them in that as well.

Gideon was brought out of his musings as the Hydra agent spoke to him. First in joking with much sexual innuendo about giving him a ride. Then she proceed to tell him not to touch her unless it was worth her while. He laughed lightly at that she was actually threatening him. It was amusing sure she was skilled of there he had no doubt. But factor in his abilities on top of her injury and if they fought the odds were clearly not in her favor.

What patience he was giving the Hydra agent he still hadn't bothered to ask her name. Truthfully he didn't care to or see the point in knowing that. As she walked he growled that pretty much ended his patience with her. He hadn't even heard her comment on him riding b***h. Nope he just reached out grabbed her arm forcibly tossing her back in the direction of his car. It was more then enough force to move her several feet towards his car. Her well being didn't matter it wasn't something likely to kill her. "You can just steal another one later....If your still breathing. So get in the car and be happy I didn't gut you the moment you appeared next to me." He said flatly. The only thing that really truly stopped him was he had wanted answers. It honestly didn't matter on the orders of Scott or the others supposedly in charge at the school, when it came to the mutant he was dealing with now. Though at the same time there were things much worse then killing someone.

Katarina wasn’t sure exactly what X-20 was thinking… But she didn’t have to be a telepath to know that her presence was likely displeasing to him. She knew that she out to come right out and explain herself… But she wasn’t sure just yet if she could trust this rejected project from the HYDRA program. The official statement they’d given to all of the employees was that he’d been a failed attempt… That he’d been terminated.

But rumors had circled for years…Somehow, that he’d held the strength to escape Madam Hydra…The Contessa…Somehow he’d managed to escape her. Katarina was looking for that strength now. But she saw very little sign of it. Just a tamed, broken little failed experiment. She’d expected to pick up her entrails off the floor by now… Anything…A sign… Any sign, that he wasn’t broken…

That her trip across the ocean hadn’t been in vain… Rome was her home, all that she knew. Aside from the chateau owned by the Contessa. And even then she’d been a prisoner… A gilded cage, was still, just a cage.

Katarina Force feared no one, and nothing. Not some S.H.I.E.L.D agent that looked like he’d just learned to shave… And not a former experiment. She had read all of X-20’s file… And first and foremost, he was a weapon. Outdated or not…His primary function of seek and destroy was not lost on her. He had been taught and trained by the best… But in retrospect, so had she.

He seemed not to notice that she’d breathed in his scent and it was yet another strike against him that he allowed her so near. While she was sure his reflexes were on point… She wasn’t exactly slow. And at that proximity she could have easily poisoned him with something that slowed his healing factor long enough for her to escape. “You reek of her you know…”

“Whoever she is… She smells…Delicious.”
, Katarina spoke lightly, her voice all feline for a moment.. Before she paused, watching the last of the portals blink away. “I hope she’s worth playing dedicated watch dog for.”

Clearly, the shifter disdained any thought or notion of… Attachment. But she couldn’t be entirely blamed for her belief system… It had been beaten into her at a very young age. As were most of her qualities. She entertained the thought of shifting into the brunette that had been shot… But she didn’t think the details would be quite right. She hadn’t gotten a good enough look at her. Usually all it took was a moment…Just a moment of clear sight and she could become whatever… Whoever, she wished. That idea was killed… While the scent of her victim lightly masked her own...It was a mere shadow. A skilled tracker like X-20 would see through the veil in an instant.

He shook his head at her and she rolled her now gunmetal blue eyes… Though her gaze never left him. She seemed relaxed… At home even. But she was ready to be on the offensive at a moments notice. Body language was something she knew well… X-20 wasn’t going to attack her yet… But he seemed to want to. But something stopped him, stayed his fabled adamantium claws. Where she came from… He was the boogie-man… The creature in the night, to fear.

He laughed at her thinly veiled threat, and she only smiled prettily… As if she didn’t have a dark thought in her lovely little head. An eye for an eye, a threat for a threat. He threatened her… She wasn’t going to take it lying down. Nor was she going to accept his misogynistic treatment of her. What, because he came first—That meant he was better? That he held all the cards? Not so.

X-20 growled as she walked away, and she sighed, as if exasperated. “Please, keep growling—It turns me on.”

He didn’t give her more than a moment before he grabbed her arm and tossed her back in the direction he wanted her to go. Seriously? Where some women would have stumbled, she caught herself gracefully…As if she’d expected the motion. “Cristo… You’re such a Neanderthal…Why don’t you just hit me over the head with a club and drag me by the hair already.”

Katarina again held her ground, giving him a cultivated blank stare when he suggested that she simply steal another motorcycle later. Her nose wrinkled, as if offended… “Why pray tell would I want to do that? I have a perfectly good cycle waiting for me outside…And this place is likely to be crawling with your severely in-equipped brass…Very soon.”

She walked back towards him, the opposite direction that he wanted her to go…Steel eyes seeming to harden, darkening. Again, she seemed to have no regard for his personal space. Shifters as a general rule didn’t... And Katarina was no exception to that. “Gut me then. At least then, I’ll know that coming here…Finding you, wasn’t a mistake. You're the only one...The -only- one...”

He was the only one to ever escape...Katarina would rather die, than serve HYDRA a moment longer... She was eighteen years old. She didn't want to die... But there were worse things.

“At least then I’d know I was at least dealing with the same man… Not some remnant.”

The dark haired woman was silent for a moment… Simply staring. Looking for something, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to find.

“But it was a mistake. There is no such thing as freedom for assets like you and I...Is there?”

Shaking her head, again, disappointed, she made to move past him, feinting hard to the right… But this time she didn’t just move…She shifted. It was never, ever a pretty sight… But it was quick. Clean. And it gave her an out she wouldn’t have otherwise had. Feathers burst from her as she leapt towards the ground, only to shift completely and pull out of the surely painful nosedive she’d been headed into.

A Peregrine Falcon at their best could move fast…Godly fast. Even injured…Though her new body protested, her bones were lighter, hollow… She took off down the hallway like a shot. There were things in the pack of her motorcycle she couldn’t do with out. A jammer for her phone, passports, identities… She traveled light. Had to…

Because if she were being honest with herself…HYDRA likely already knew where she was.

And the Contessa would come for her, with a hunting rifle or shackles.

Team ↠ AlphaxxLocation ↠ Mall to Portal

Eli hunkering down, supported Tsunami as best as he could, deflecting balls of fire and magma. It was getting pretty steamy, quite literally, as the water clashed with the super heated attacks, causing perspiration to drip from Eli's face.

The battle progressed, slowly but surely, the Alphas pushed on dropping the brother hood one by one. He was hoping the same went for the Omegas in their fight. The cost of beating the brotherhood slowly started to rise as the Alpha's casualty count went up; including the failure to disarm the bomb, releasing the nuclear agent that was buried deep within. This forced a portal to open behind them, and one by one they went through, back to the lawns of the Xavier mansion. 'Now you're thinking with portals..' The Magnetokinetic thought to himself.

"C'mon Tsunami, we gotta bounce out too." Eli said tugging on his shoulder and rushing to the portal and going through it. He braced himself, not sure who would be at the exit or what may be in his way on his way out, Eli looked around. So many injuries had been counted for. Bella was shot, Christian was bleeding out, Aurelie had brain hemorrhaging. It made him nervous, the severity of the wounds, granted on only a few of them, could potentially lead to death. Eli began to shake, this time not in fear, but nervousness, anxiety, the fear of death potentially by their sides. He shuttered, as a chill ran down his spine, and he thought of something else, in hopes that it wasn't Azazel passing by, to come for another soul.

Breaking his mental solitude, a person in a CBRN suit came up to Eli with a Geiger Counter that clicked sporadically at him, and demanded that Eli rest up a bit before heeding the call to the War Room. "I'll be fine, my body is used to it when I go on the fritz." he said, pushing the person away, recalling his previous incidents where he would shoot out waves of Electromagnetic Radiation.

He sprinted his way, to the war room and entered, out of breath as his physical prowess and conditioning wasn't significant to any extent, "I'm here, I made it..." He said panting, attempting to regain his breath.

Alpha - Academy: Infirmary - Aftermath: Viewing the Casualties of War

Alex, Bianca and Raine made their way towards the Infirmary, anxious to get the unconscious Aurelie the help that she needed after they had stopped a bomb with nothing but a spark and a telekinetic shield. Each step started to get heavier than the last, not just because they were carrying the dead-weight of a comrade, but just because the whole situation was exhausting. While Raine had been through a few more missions than the other girls around her, she still wasn't the hardened veteran, like Kerrigan or Gideon. Her adrenaline was crashing from the battle, and that meant that she was starting to feel not only the physical wear and tear from the mission, but the emotional exhaustion as well. At the very least, she would sleep good tonight, once her head finally got to hit the pillow. There was much to be done before that could happen, though.

Eventually, the group managed to make it's way down to the Infirmary, relieved of their cargo almost immediately by the trained medical staff. For the moment, the girls that were carrying their teammate all seemed to stagger off in different directions, Raine moving into a corner where she could be out of the way while she caught her breath. Wiping a few beads of sweat from her brow, she tried to make some sense of her hair, her hazel eyes traveling down the hallway to take in who was being admitted for treatment, and who was just taking a few minutes to regain their composure before their next move. In particular, her eyes caught Bianca, who was sitting by herself. She hadn't gotten too many chances to interact with the girl so far, but that didn't mean that she wasn't considered a friend. Weaving her way around, doing her best to make sure that she didn't step in front of anyone, she made her way towards the girl, casting a sideways glance through the glass pane on the front of one of the medical doors.

At first, she thought nothing of what she saw, a twinge of sympathy for whoever the poor soul was inside her only reaction. However, her steps stopped, doing a double take as she pressed her nose against the glass to take a deeper look inside the room. She recognized that person - it was Chrisitan.

"Christian," she heard herself call out, hand moving towards the handle when she heard the orders from Emma come through that they were supposed to move to the War Room if they were not injured. She blinked back a few tears as she let herself into the room, passing quietly over to his bed and kneeling down next to him. He looked to be in rough shape, though she had a feeling that he would recover if they were leaving him unattended at the moment to deal with some of the other injured Alphas. Besides, he appeared to be breathing and at least conscious, so that was a good thing.

"Who did this to you," she whispered, afraid to reach out and touch him for fear that she would bring him pain. She had no idea if he would be able to respond, if he would be able to make sense of what she was saying, but she could only hope that a familiar presence would bring him some kind of comfort. She knew that she had to get the meeting or get reamed by Frost, but she felt guilty leaving his side. Still, she had to follow orders. Rising from her kneeling position, she sniffled softly, gently touching the railing of his hospital bed.

"I'll come back when we get out of this meeting, I promise," she said simply, trying to give him a smile she wasn't sure he would be able to register. As she walked towards the door, she cast a backward glance towards him, closing the door as gently as she could. Her hand lingered on the handle before she pulled away, balling into a tight fist. She knew that the Brotherhood were a bunch of self-righteous assholes, but how could they beat someone to the point of death and call it progress? More than any other emotion she had been feeling before, she was now simply angry. And it showed.

Closing the distance between herself and Bianca, as she had intended to do in the first place before her little detour, the brunette tried to soften her features, though it didn't work too well. Raine was a teenage girl, and that meant that while there were times she was the master of disguise when it came to her emotions, anger was just not one of them. Taking a deep breath before she said anything, her hazel eyes leveled on the shadow-controller, one hand moving up to push her slightly matted curls out of her face.

"Are you alright? If not, I can fetch someone, or we can head to the War Room before Frost starts yelling," she asked the girl, her voice a bit softer than her expression, though not by much. Hopefully, Frost would already have some news as to how they were going to pay the Brotherhood back.
