Kyouya almost sighed aloud in relief when Tamaki and Lynette returned.
"It's Hitomi's costume." he replied. "She going to have to try it on."
He almost felt his bile rise at Tamaki all but prancing around Chizuru. Very distasteful. He kept his face straight as Tamaki daintily looked through his pruse.
"I doubt anything like that would help." he said in all honesty. Listening to Lynette and Kristen, he realized Lynette was desperately trying to snub the other girl off without being rude. But Kristen was having no of it. She might even start to be suspicious.
He smiled. "Oh, Lynette, this is Kristen's work, after all. Hitomi is simply going to have to put up with it."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Honey's table go excited and the four occupants all but run out of the restaurant.
They must have come up with something.
"Do excuse me, will you? I have to make a call."
He walked away from his little party and called Honey.
"Honey semapi, what are you up to?"
He listened.
"Sounds perfect, but make sure you finish before we get there. Yes, I'm sure we'll be going the moment we finish lunch. Yes, alright, I'll do my best to stall for time, but for God's sake, do hurry."
He walked back to their table and whispered quickly into Lynette's ear.
"We need to stall for as long as we can without raising suspicions."

Lynette grinned. Distractions. Well that was just her favorite thing ever! What should she do? There were numerous things that she could try... But she had to wait until their food had come and they had eaten. Otherwise, it wouldn't be much stalling.
Suddenly a waiter arrived at their table and asked them to order. Finally, they were moving somewhere. Now another thing she could do was simple. She could add more to their order. But not by adding more to what she ate. She smiled widely and looked at Kirsten.
"I completely understand where you are coming from. I'm sorry if I insulted you. Let me apologize. You must stay for lunch, my treat."
Two birds with one stone. Now there was no way that Kirsten could walk in on the others. Since she and Tamaki hadn't had time to talk anything over with the others, they'd have to go with this approach.
I'm happy to just watch...

Kyouya smiled as Lynette's eyes lit up. He knew she would like the idea of stalling.
"A wonderful idea Lynette!"He said. "Do join us Kristen. It's entirely our treat, to thank-you for your tireless work."
Mentally, Kyouya was calculating the time Honey sempai was going to need.
When the waiters returned, he lifted his glass.
"I propose a toast to Kirsten and her marvelous work on the costumes and to the sucess of the production. And, naturally to the charming young ladies I have had the pleasure to have had lunch with."

"What are we going to do to the costumes, Honey sempai?" she asked as they entered the Lobelia Academy's grounds in full stealth mode.

awfully quiet lately. I hope it's not us who're boring you?"

Lady of the Lily....Chizuru Maihara... Chizuru raised an eyebrow, momentarily decending from the pinky heights of cloud #9 as Kyouya spoke. She had not really been rehistering anything up until then.
Really, men are such idiots. She thought disparingly. But I suppose it's the thought that counts. And Lynette does seem to be taken with him, for what reason, I'll never know, poor dear.
She lifted her glass as well.
"Thank-you Kyouya san." She said. "To Kirsten, Hitomi, and the production."

Well at least now they were getting an answer from Chizuru. It might be better and it might be worse. Another person getting suspicious wouldn't do any good. They'd just have to play it safe.

If they could just keep going a bit longer...

Twenty minutes by car, then who knows how long it will take them to get into the costume room unnoticed...I just hope they don't set fire to the place. Honey semapai is awful fond of his stupid Usa.chan...
His ears caught the last of Lynette's words."I second that." Drinking, he glnaced at Tamaki, er, Hitomi. "Aren't you nervous, Hitomi? It's you're first real performance before such a large audience, after all. Most girls would be a little nervous at least."
He quickly realized his small foepar, and did a quick side-step. "Most boys too, naturally. I know I would be."

I was so excited!" quickly checking himself
before he completely bubbled over (he was getting
weird looks from the other diners), he continued
in a more subdued voice, "Of course, I know
nothing will go wrong with Chizu-chan there."
Taking the band from his hair he let it fall over his shoulders.
"It's going to be such a wonderful night!" he sighed
twirling a lock of hair,
"I can't wait to see the swans!"

Lady of the Lily....Chizuru Maihara...Chizuru laughed and clapped. Hitomi really was such a dear. So feminine, so charming, so lovely. And those eyes! Marvelous!
"None of the swans are as pretty as you, dear!" she said. "It's going to be wonderful!"
She check her watch.
"Oh, my, we really need to get going. Especially since Kristy has to finish Hitomi's dress."

Lynette tried to hold back her shock as Chizuru started to get up. Without fail, she kicked the leg of the table and dumped her glass of water straight on her lap. To anyone else it would seem as if Chizuru had bumped the table as she had gotten up and the water just fell, soaking Lynette through.
She let a squeal escape her lips. Whether the performance was fake or not, the squeal was real. That water was COLD! Somehow, that little detail had escaped her forethought. But maybe it would be better that way.
She gingerly lifted the crystal glass off her lap and set it down on the table. The muscles in her shoulders, arms, and face were taught. She had to hide the grin as the fun part came up. This is where the time would take.
"Oh. My. God. Chizuru! You've gotten me soaked! What am I going to do."
She whined like a baby. Carefully, she scooped the ice off her lap into her glass. Her hands began to go numb as they methodically picked up piece by piece.
I'm happy to just watch...

Now, what had brought this sudden change of heart, hm?
Men like Kyuoya were stubborn, prideful, and, most of all, intelligent, she thought to herself. Those guys she had played games with almost always had a trick up their sleeve, you had to keep up an A game so thay wouldn't suspect a thing 'til the final move.
Had her father been like that?
Kristen was shaken out of her thoughts by a sharp squeal. She turned around, startled, to see Lynette whining rather loudy about Chizuru knocking water onto her." Oh, crap." she muttered under her breath, snatching her napkin and pressing it on to Lynette's wet skirt."Well, be glad it was water, or this could of been a whole lot worse..." she grumbled, amongst Lynette's accusations toward Chizuru. Hm, that's odd.
She would have never taken Lynette as a squealer. Oº°‘¨ ¨‘°ºO
