Before too long, Blade and Astalder touched down in Kocerou's camp where they sought out the Prince so they could explain how their scouting went.
--
Occupied with the squire now, the Fallen temporarily forgot about his prey and shot out an arc towards the pair harassing him.
Warden had just managed to avoid getting blasted out of the sky here. He kept in mind to be careful as taking one of those bolts would mean poorly for both him and his bound. Just to be sure he had the Fallen's attention, he went in for another dive, managing to knick the other dragon's side with the maneuver. With his focus completely on the one before him, he couldn't look down to see how Leverne was fairing with the ones below.

"Hardly," Jay answered Roman upon the latter, eying Micheal's new red shirt with a rather ugly look before turning to the one with red hair. She wasn't sure if he was just joking or not. "This was an unusual night for crossing paths, not one I'm happy with either." There had been more than just the two strangers and the dragons out there after all. "Now the question is, did you learn anything from it?" she asked, her own tone not changing at all.
"And unless you think you are going to lick it clean," she then switched audiences to the 'brother' vampire, "you may as well leave that shirt on the ground for me to take with when I find some sort of water. That is going to reek as well as crust over in the air." Ugh, blood soaked shirt. Dragon blood soaked shirt.

Roman just cracks up laughing from Jay's disgusted face, grabbing his sides. The red head barely caught what she was saying. Then he thought as his laughing subsided. "One, that thing that I was hit with hurt like hell, Couldn't move anything, that's whats bothering me." he then looked up at her. "but something tells me that's not it."

She was definitely fueling the darker thoughts in his mind. Promptly he spread the shirt out and slowly licked the blood soaked material with a slow enjoyable moan.
Dark chuckled as Micheal was his unusual carefree self. He started to think maybe these dragon hunts wouldn't be so bad for them. "Well, I was called a traitor. Didn't think it would matter, even as a hatchling other dragons were weary. But what gave it away that it has to do with current events, I was asked if I was living under a rock."

@Ares: There was a short whimper as the wings fluttered as an unconscious twitch. Like shattered stained glass windows, they let through light from the sky reflecting colors of that like soap bubbles in what panes remained still in place or hung by just a thread.
The mage walked up beside Ares as silent as the air that moved. "I do not have any interest in this one here," he said as the grains of the ground could be seen slithering up and over the weary and injured fae's bare ankle. "I will finish this one off, but from now on you have to take care of your own play things, just like the mice and lizards. If I'm going to bring you out here you will have to take care of yourself. If I have to clean up after you I will leave you at the castle. Any objections?"

"Fine! You can deal with the shirt. I'm not touching it." Jay threw her hands up and left the vampire to his playtime, turning away from Micheal to walk over by Roman who was having his own laugh.
"This is what you were hit with." She realized from his comment that he may not have known what it was that he'd been hit with. She pulled the damaged bolt from her belt and held it out for him to take a look. "Crossbow bolt. Usually made of wood." She had an idea. Volpone had given her a few points that he had received from the same group that had been hunting Roman. The irony there. One gifted point was snug against her backside...
She thought as well about the words Dark provided, but could not come up with anything unless something was happening with the dragons. That would be their problem and not hers. They just had to keep away from the towns. For now it was a trivial matter aside from the riderless Fallen that continued on.

Micheal hissed a laugh and then practically buried the shirt in the dirt so she didn't have to see it. "didn't think it would upset you." "Much" He walked over to Dark and then started helping brush out the dragon's mane some before they headed in for the night with his fingers.
Dark lowered so Micheal could climb up easier as they both listen to the conversation she was having with Roman.

Roman smiled at Micheal acting like a fool, but then focused back on what the Ranger was showing him. "That tiny thing? Are you sure" spoken in disbelief. "And the dragon, did I kill his bound or did he do that cut off thing you mention a long time ago. Then can the Dragon still fly with out the bound?" Roman was try to piece together, the bolt just look like a regular arrow, more so fancier in looks. Then an after thought. "Was that even his bound? It couldn't be, that fallen had a lucky card didn't he." Roman chuckled as he thought of the card reader.

She shook her head with a casual smile when she heard Micheal to the side. What was she going to do with that vampire?
"I could jam it back in you if you'd like," she answered Roman, almost hesitating to use that line for fear of the consequences. "That's what did it." Did he know? She tossed a confused glance at Micheal. Did those two know? This could be bad. Maybe for all the times she'd been pestering Micheal about what affected vampires he didn't know anything more than the few he told her offhandedly.
"The bound, I'm almost certain it was his bound, did get hit by your shot, but he dropped far too fast. His soul was gone before I could blink. I do believe the dragon simply shed himself of him, but maybe I am wrong. It could have been a non-bound, and I missed something in the dark."
Her eyes went back to the bolt in Roman's hands.

"How bout I shove this thing in you, I would have no problem doing you that favor." Roman responded to her comment as he continued to listen. "Exactly how many bounds can a dragon have at once?" His eyes focused on Dark. "The Bound knew how to stop me, or was it the Dragon." "I know what I am doing tomorrow night." Roman looked at his fingers, wondering if he should even try now.

"Be careful what you offer. I may hold you to that," she smiled, but it was a false smile. She was already holding two others to that promise.
She looked at Dark, following Roman's gaze. "One is all I've heard of -and seen- at least at the same time. I certainly hope that is not wrong. Fallen I know can take up new bounds if they lose their old one. I do not know about the rest. It could be the same. If the normal ones lose their bound, they are usually falling from the sky and don't get that chance." She still wondered if Micheal had taken seriously what she had said about his tie with Dark.
"Probably thought you were some really fast human, and crazy. Any good bowmen is taught to shoot, and this," she said, barely pressing a mock punch into Roman's chest, right over where the wound was healing, "is the biggest target and easiest to hit on a human. The heart is right here while the lungs are on either side of the chest." She pulled back her hand and pointed out about the respective areas. "Crossbow bolts have some force behind them too, especially at that range. It was dark and it was not as if he had long to think about you being something other than human, that is if he could think at all."

She was close, really close. Taking in the lesson, he didn't know what else to say or ask but his eyes looked at the sky where the placement of the stars and moon and how much cooler the night was getting. "It's getting close. Stay still Jay."

Her hand had been pulling away. "What's getting close?" she asked in hardly a whisper, tensing up, thinking maybe Roman was seeing or hearing that Fallen coming back or maybe there was one of their other visitors nearby. But then what was Micheal and Dark up to? What were they doing? She couldn't hear anything from them about such a thing and would have figured that they would have said something at least. "Is there something in the air?"

He quickly pressed his lips against the rangers lightly where she could barely feel it and pulled away, to the Ranger's eyes he was just a blur till he was standing to her side with the bucket. "Daylight is coming soon."

Micheal just growled warning Roman to knock it off, and he slid off Dark and walk up to him. "Really what was that all about Roman, Thought we had a clear enough understanding."
Dark got up not wanting anything to do with this and walked in the dig out to lay down all day. you would think he was a very lazy dragon.
