"Farfetch'd let's start this off with your Swords Dance, boost your attack." Ron said with a little smirk as Farfetch'd tossed the leek up into the air as he started to glow red as his attack was boosted. "Let's see your Porygon live through one of my Farfetch'd's attacks now." The other boasted.

Dante just watched as the other raised the Farfetch'd's attack. Farfetch'd wasn't really the strongest pokemon but that Swords Dance wasn't to be underestimated. Hmm well the other could boost their attack all the wanted to but that wouldn't stop him from getting creamed by Turn A. "Turn A let's use your new Ice Beam." Was all Dante said wanting to get his Up-Grade and then get on the boat, maybe evolve Turn A if Kasiya stayed around long enough. Turn A did what he was told no questions asked as always a small sphere of ice appearing in front of him before shooting towards the Farfetch'd.

"Farfetch'd bat that Ice Beam down with you Leek!" Ron ordered with a dramatic wave of his arm. The Farfetch'd just nodded determinedly before winding up his leek like a baseball bat before swinging it forward neatly slicing the icy beam in half causing it to miss the bird pokemon. "Heh, you are going to have to do better then that." The other laughed.

"Hm, it will just take two hits instead of one to take you down. Why don't you take another look at your Farfetch'd." Dante said calm as always in a battle.

"Huh what do you mean?" Ron questioned before taking another look at his Farfetch'd. "Ah! You didn't!" The other growled. It seems like while the Farfetch'd himself was fine however his leek was frozen solid from the power of the Ice Beam. "Damn it!" Ron cursed as he watched his Farfetch'd tap the leek curiously before it shattered into a lot of pieces.

"Weren't you the one who told me not to get overconfident?" Dante asked back not being able to help the tiniest bit of smugness from his voice. Still he couldn't let himself get to confident or else he would fall into the same trap the other did. "Turn A, just because the we broke his weapon does not mean that we should get careless." Dante warned his moment of smugness now gone.

"Hm, you should be careful. Just because you destroyed Farfetch'd's leek does not mean that you can rest easy. Farfetch'd it is time to bring out your secret weapon." The duck pokemon seemed to grin even though it had a bill and no lips as it reached a wing behind its back and pulled out a stick. "Heh, you would have had better luck if you just left the leek. With a stick Farfetch'd's attack power is boosted even more! All right then Farfetch'd lets show them your Fury Cutter!" The Farfetch'd saluted once with his new stick before taking off at an alarming speed towards Turn A.

"Turn A use your Agility to dodge as many of the attacks as possible." Dante cursed slightly under his breath, how was he supposed to know that they had another stick? Oh well the only thing he could do here is trust that Turn A would make it out of this battle with as few bumps and bruises as possible. The Porygon did just as Dante said glowing a light blue before he started moving around at a much faster pace. While the Porygon couldn't dodge all the hits he managed to get by with just being hit twice and grazed on the side once. Over all it was a pretty good result.

"Heh, even with your Agility we are still just as fast as you. All you did was make it so you could keep up with us. Farfetch'd lets make it so the next attack really hurts! Lets boost your attack again with another Swords Dance!"

"Don't let that happen Turn A blast it with your Psybeam." Psychic was a lot stronger but Psybeam was probably a lot faster and it was a move Turn A was more familiar with, though Dante wasn't sure that made a difference with the technology pokemon. Still Turn A was able to hit the Farfetch'd just in time to end what would have been a successful Swords Dance.

"Alright, this'll be fun," the girl said as her Kecleon got into position in front of her. "Our first real battle, Leon, so let's make it a good one!" The Color Swap Pokemon nodded eagerly, his eyes fixed directly on Pan.

s**t, not a newbie, Keegan thought as he withdrew a cigarette. Oh well, might be for the best, I don't know what Pan's abilities are like yet. The Treecko bounced from foot to foot in front of him, surprisingly eager to get the fight underway. "Ladies first," the redhead said, not bothering to look up at her as he lit his smoke, tossing his lighter up and down a few times with his right hand. Pan frowned but got himself into a defensive position, not understanding why he didn't get to go first. After all, he was the one who'd gotten attacked.

The girl giggled, and nodded. "All right, if you say so. But I don't want you going easy on me just because it's my first trainer battle!"

Keegan groaned and rolled his eyes. "Believe me, chicky, I wasn't planning on it."

"Leon, use your Astonish!" the girl called, seemingly oblivious to Keegan's marked disinterest of the matter at hand. The Kecleon planted his feet and opened his mouth, sending his long, sticky tongue rocketing out towards the Treecko. Pan cringed, for he didn't want that slimy, disgusting thing touching him. He raised his tail up and slammed it on the ground, using it to help give him a boost and send him into the air, making for a rather impressive evasive maneuver. Keegan let out a low whistle. He'd heard that Treecko were fast, but he hadn't thought they were that fast. "Give your Pound attack a try," he said, taking a drag from his cigarette.

Pan nodded and zipped forward, yellow eyes narrowed as he neared his target. At the last minute he pivoted on his left foot and spun his tail around, landing a solid blow to the Kecleon's midsection. The Color Swap Pokemon staggered back from the hit, but it was far from finished. Again, Keegan was impressed. Perhaps this Ed guy just hadn't known what Pan was capable of.

"Aska, I want you to keep dodging by using Agility and Quick Attack," Miharu said, taking a few steps back to give her Flaaffy some more room. "And you, Sparkle, I want you to keep attacking with your Thunderbolt. I realize that Thunderbolt is stronger and takes more energy, but if you can manage to perfect your aim with it, I think you'll have no problems with your other attacks." The Flaaffy glanced over her shoulder at Miharu and nodded. Miharu nodded back, knowing that it would also help to build the Pokemon's electrical stamina as well. Sparkle jumped up and let loose a strong burst of lightning at the swift Pidgeotto, though Aska had absolutely no trouble distancing herself from the bolt.

Miharu said nothing, only continued to watch the duo practicing. She could see that Sparkle was growing more and more impatient with herself with each miss, and even Aska was starting to feel bad for her teammate. Miharu raised an amused eyebrow when Aska falsely feinted to the right, and curiously enough right into an otherwise wayward Thunderbolt. The Pidgeotto shrieked as the electricity coursed through her, but she carefully kept her gaze on the Flaaffy, who was hopping up and down excitedly after her 'successful' attack. Miharu smiled. Perhaps a bit of confidence was all Sparkle needed.

Turning around at the sound of the voice behind her Robin stared in confusion at the man who seemed to know her name. "Ah yeah I am Robin Knight. Why? Who are you?" The man behind her was dressed strangely Robin supposed, though she wasn't one to judge considering her getup. Anyway he was wearing a sort of ninja outfit only a bit loser then the one she had seen Koga wearing in pictures. He was also wearing a long pretty durable looking coat, the only color on him was a pretty looking scarf wrapped closely around his neck. Robin giggled slightly, they must look pretty funny in their strange clothing standing together. Still something about him seemed off, he hadn't done anything yet and he looked pretty friendly though.

"Hm you don't look like how Ampersand described you. I wouldn't have recognized you if he hadn't told me about your Aipom, which now seems like it is an Ambipom. Did he just evolve?" The man asked brushing off Robin's question to answer who he was.

Robin though quickly forgot that he had not answered his question at the fact that he seemed to know Ampersand. "Ah! You know Ampersand? I was looking for him you wouldn't happen to have seen him have you?" She asked excitedly. She wanted to show him Luffy and Brooks evolution. She also had to show him Black*Star to, even though he wouldn't be awake to meet him.

"Actually that is why I am here. I had to send Ampersand off on a job and since he was on vacation I asked if there was anything I could do for him. He just asked for me to check up on you. He said you didn't sound to good when he talked to you last night. You seem to be doing ok to me." The taller man sounded a bit skeptical as he eyed Robin and then her two pokemon though his gaze did pause for a second at Luffy before returning to Robin.

Robin blushed a little in embarrassment at the fact that she had caused so much trouble with her bout of depression yesterday. "Um, when he called yesterday I was pretty upset." She paused for a moment before grinning to show she was better. "I am feeling a lot better now though!" She exclaimed. Now that her excitement that she had found someone who knew where Ampersand was she was getting pretty curious as to who this guy was exactly. There was something strange about him and it was bugging Robin that she couldn't quite figure out what it was. "So who are you anyway?"

"My name is Masamori." The man introduced with a small smile at Robin that went away after just a second. "Your going to Sinnoh right?"

"Ha it will take more then one Psybeam to take down my Farfetch'd!" Ron laughed while his Farfetch'd imitated him.

"More then one Psybeam? All right then, Turn A use Psybeam again." Dante knew that Farfetch'd weren't very strong even though this one seemed to be proving that wrong, what with its quick movements and sudden boosts of power. Turn A was obedient as always and sent off another Psybeam with a sort of flair the other Porygon's seemed to fail to mimic.

The blast connected head on sending the poor bird pokemon back before it landed on the ground. Still the bird pokemon didn't seem to be out for the count. "Gah, don't attack while we are laughing. Farfetch'd use your Slash attack!" The duck pokemon saluted with its stick once before taking off towards Turn A.

"Turn A counter with your Ice Beam." Dante managed to order in time. The two attacks connected at the same time knocking both pokemon a far ways back. Both of them laid on the ground struggling to get up, if neither got up soon then they would both be out of the or they would have to go another round. Dante was pretty sure that Hera just wasn't strong enough to face any pokemon here and he wanted to keep Apollo ready and at full health for the last round. "Turn A use your Recover!" It was just plain good luck Dante remembered the cybernetic pokemon could use that move. Soon the Porygon was reconstructing itself and when he finished he looked ready for another round of battle. The Farfetch'd though wasn't so lucky since it didn't have any health recovery moves. The duck pokemon struggled to get up for a moment before it fell back down to the ground.

"Good job Turn A." Dante said with a small smirk as he recalled the tired Porygon. "Next time why don't you not act so confident. Your pokemon's pretty good and it was your confidence that cost you." That being said Dante signaled that he had won before looking around to see where Kasi had run off to. Eventually he spotted her in a battle and went over to watch, it was always polite and interesting to watch his friends battle.

"Nice move, but it's going to take more than that to beat Leon and me!" the girl said, nodding. "Quick, Leon! While he's close, get him with your Scratch attack!" Keegan couldn't help but snicker at the girl's enthusiasm. He remembered how eager he'd been to get away from home, and he sure hoped he hadn't sounded like a giggling idiot when he had his first trainer battle. The Kecleon lashed out with his claws, this time catching Pan in the side as the Treecko had no time to recover from his previous attack.

"It'll take more than a Scratch to take down Pan," Keegan replied quickly. "Pan, use Absorb!" The Treecko rubbed at the red scratch marks on his scaly skin and raised a hand, and suddenly a greenish glow surrounded the Kecleon as Pan stole some of his energy to replenish his own. As soon as the attack was finished, Leon stepped back and a different greenish aura overcame him, and he stuck his tongue out at Pan. Right, Color Change, Keegan thought, frowning. Looks like we'll be changing up between Pound and Absorb.

"You can't avoid this one," the girl shouted, looking a little annoyed at Keegan. "Leon, give 'em your Faint Attack!" The Kecleon nodded and dashed forward, vanishing in a slight puff of darkness a few steps later. He reappeared quite suddenly behind the surprised Pan, and once again tore into the gecko with his claws before disappearing once more.

Pan seemed to be quite frustrated by this as shown by the temper tantrum he then threw. "Knock it off," Keegan told the gecko. "Try your Pound again." The gecko's expression was one of anger as he rushed forward, already spinning around in order to clobber the Kecleon with his tail as the Color Swap Pokemon reappeared.

"Okay Sparkle, one more time," Miharu said, nodding at her Flaaffy. Sparkle sighed but stepped forward, her wool flashing as she gathered the power for one final Thunderbolt. Her eyes were narrowed as she concentrated, watching Aska's movements carefully. With a cry she let the bolt fly, and Miharu could only watch with pride as the bolt connected with it's target, even though Aska tried her hardest to dodge this one. Though Aska was still quite tougher than Sparkle, the fact that she'd been shocked several times was starting to catch up with her and the Bird Pokemon came to land on the ground, chest heaving. "You both did great," Miharu told them, hugging Sparkle. Aska tottered over to her side for some praise too, and Miharu couldn't hep but pull the Pidgeotto into the hug as well. "Rest up guys, that's enough for now," she told them as she put them both into their respective Pokeballs, and stood up. "Okay, who wants to go next?" she asked.

It was no surprise that Petunia came forward right away, and right behind her was Starrie. "Alright you two," Miharu said, clapping her hands. "Let's get started," she said, now standing up on a rock. Tingle floated lazily behind her while Lily preened on the ground nearby. "We'll start off easy, so Starrie, you use Tackle, and Petunia, show me your Harden. I don't want Starrie leaving so much as a scratch on that hard shell of yours!" The Pinsir grunted and let out a sharp growl, a slight glow encompassing her body as she strengthened her shell. Starrie had launched itself forward and was now spinning toward the Stagbeetle with impressive speed. The two hit, but Starrie seemed to just bounce off Petunia's hard carapace. The latter gave a toothy grin and rubbed the spot where the Starmie had hit her. "Not bad," Miharu commented. "Try it again!"

"Ryu, use Bite!"

"Nova, Dragon Dance!

Both girls had given their orders at the same time, and both Pokemon responded quite quickly. Ryu the Bagon bared his teeth and began to run at Nova, though the Charmander jumped back with light steps and twirled, managing to avoid the dragon's sharp fangs. Her body started to glow with a light purple hue, showing that her attack power and speed had both gone up as a result of her dancing. Kasiya took a moment to glance over at Dante, glad to see that he wasn't having much trouble with the Farfetch'd trainer. I wonder where Dante got the Porygon from, she thought, looking back at her Pokemon. Nova and Ryu had squared off again; the two young Pokemon were eying each other warily.

Kasiya could see that Nova was excited just by the way her tailflame was flickering. "Okay Nova, give 'em an Ember," she called, a little unsure of what moves were effective against Dragon-types. The little lizard nodded and jumped forward, swinging her tail around to send a rain of burning Embers raining down towards Ryu the Bagon.

"Ryu, Rock Smash, towards the ground!" Christina called quickly. She knew that her Bagon would resist a Fire-type attack, but she didn't want to chance him getting burned. The Rock Head Pokemon jumped up and did a somersault in the air before slamming his head down on the ground, sending up a spray of small rocks and dirt that met with the Ember attack head on, and the two attacks canceled each other out.

Jaeshan did his best to not think about what sort of outfits Ken may have had in mind for him, and instead focused on what Pokemon would be sent out first. Seviper... Good thing I don't have a Zangoose, he thought with a light chuckle. He thought for a moment, knowing that Metang would be immune to Seviper's Poison-type attacks, but Jaeshan didn't think he was quite strong enough to battle on this level yet. Ken had said he was an accomplished coordinator and Jaeshan wasn't about to underestimate him. "Okay then, I'll start with Blaziken," he said calmly as he released the Blaze Pokemon with a flick of his wrist. She materialized before her trainer and began to stretch and loosen up her muscles, a grin etched onto her face the entire time. This was her first battle since her evolution at the Dewford Gym and this time she was running on all cylinders. "Start off with Bulk Up," the blonde said, watching the Seviper closely. Blaziken threw back her head and let out a fierce roar, her wrists blazing with fire. She felt her body strengthen and she kicked the air furiously, eager to get this show on the road.

”Well if I’m troublesome, then you’re just plain stubborn,” Riza replied flatly, opening the first aid kit. She listened to him speak as she prepared the bandages, unable to help but wonder just what it was that drove him to become stronger. Stronger for what? “This is probably going to sting a little,” she warned, though she figured he’d just sit there like a stone statue and pretend like it didn’t hurt at all. She applied some antiseptic treatment to the wound, doing her best to be as gentle as possible. “Surge, eh?” she mumbled, not so sure if she was ready for a gym that handled electric-types, but Crenu’s words were strangely motivating. ‘That’s probably why Jae didn’t say anything though. He probably thinks that because of Corphish I’ll be at a huge disadvantage and have no hope of winning.’ “Eh, whatever. Battles aren’t about just matching up the types, where’s the fun in that? Besides, I know that my Corphish is tough, and even if we don’t win it’ll still be a valuable experience. But then again, I might not even challenge that gym yet. So who knows.” She finished putting on the bandage and stood back to look over her work. “There,” she said, putting the items back in the kit and handing it to Crenu so he could put it away. “It’s healing nicely, but it will get infected if you don’t take proper care of it.” She gave him a hard look, but her grey eyes were concerned. Now that the wound was properly dressed Riza didn’t really know what to do or say next, so she just sat down next to Crenu on the bench and stared out at the ocean, wondering where her brother was now and what he was doing. He hadn’t replied to her messages lately and she was starting to get a little worried about him. “So… what are your plans?” she finally asked idly, a little annoyed with the silence.

“Nice going, Genki, we’ve got this one,” Katie said confidently as the Croagunk recoiled from the flames. It appeared to do a lot more damage than she would have thought possible. ‘I’ll have to look into that later,’ she thought to herself. “Genki, mach punch.”

“Faint attack!” Joey said, not wanting any more fire attacks to hit his Croagunk. The Monferno raced forward, ready to drive his fist into the Croagunk’s body, but before he could even swing the poison mouth Pokemon disappeared. Genki skid to a halt and looked around in confusion, only to be hit from behind by the Croagunk’s devious attack a moment later. Genki fell forward but was far from defeated yet. He jumped back to his feet and whirled around, changing his mach punch into a thunder punch in a split second and he slammed it into the frog’s gut. Katie was quite impressed with how well Genki could think for himself during battle and she wondered if she should let him do it more often. She’d known him for a few years now so she figured she should be able to trust him. “Now use poison sting!” shouted Joey, even as his Croagunk recovered from the shocking punch. It opened it’s mouth and spit out a dozen or so bright purple needles at Genki.

Crenu just watched Riza as she treated his arm and spoke of the gym. It did sting a bit when she started treating the large gash, but he had expected it and didn't really react to the pain. It wasn't anything he couldn't shrug off. Besides, she was doing a good job and had a pretty gentle touch. "I couldn't agree more. Types are just a helpful edge in battles, but they don't decide the outcome. I think you should give the gym a try....not that it's any of my business." He said quickly, trying to ignore the fact that he was taking interest in her business. He nodded instead when she had finished, she seemed quite serious when she was talking about taking care of the wound. Why was she so concerned? And this wasn't the first time, she was on his case about it from the moment he got hurt int the first place. "...thanks. You've got soft hands." That was all he could think to say, and it was getting awkward again. He was thankful to her for breaking the silence with her question. "Oh, well I don't know. I don't really have any plans, but I do know I want to try my hand at contests. Ken wants to drag me to Sinnoh to participate in the contests there, but I still haven't decided if I should go or not."

"Oh my, a Blaziken! How wonderfully exotic. Careful honey, that pokemon can put a serious burn on that lovely skin of yours. He he he he, oh but you can always just shed away the ugly skin can't you? But none the less, lets be careful ok? I don't want anything happening to my sweet little Seviper. Oh the horror! Let's see, oh I know! See if you can slow fiery bird down a bit with Glare!" Seviper hissed happily, staring down her opponent with glowing yellow eyes, hissing menacingly and showing off her fangs as she tried to paralyze her opponent with her fearful presence. It was a nice easy attack, nothing to harsh just yet. He wanted to see more of Jaeshan's style first, and this was really just a friendly warm up after all. Still, Ken was a serious battler and intended to come out on top if he could.

"You might want to lay off the Fire-type attacks," Christina called over to Kasiya in a friendly manner. "Dragons resist fire."

"Thanks, I'll try to remember that," Kasiya replied, smacking her forehead with her palm. She always forgot what Dragons and Dark-types were weak against, and she made a mental note to sit down and go over type match-ups in her PokeDex later. "Since fire won't work so well, give your Scratch a try," she called out to Nova, who had managed to avoid getting hit by any stray rock shards from Ryu's Rock Smash. The Charmander gave a sharp growl and shook herself a bit before she ran forward and lashed out with her claws, catching the Bagon under the chin with a clean, solid strike. Nice, Kasiya thought. We'll save Dragon Claw for later, when it really matters. I do know Dragons are weak against Dragon-type moves.

"Ryu, use Leer," Christina commanded quickly, and Kasiya was impressed with how quickly the little dragon followed through on his orders. Baring his teeth again, the Bagon's eyes began to glow with a menacing red glare, the sight of which made Nova shiver all over and take a few apprehensive steps back. "Now, Rage!" Before Nova could recover from her fright, Ryu lunged forward and smacked her with a quick headbutt, knocking the Charmander to the ground.

"Get up and use Dragon Dance again," Kasiya shouted, knowing that now any attacks Nova were to land would simply increase Ryu's power. If she could just get Nova to keep out of Ryu's range, she just might be able to accumulate enough strength to take him out with one Dragon Claw. The Charmander jumped back up to her feet and began to twirl again, avoiding another attempted Bite by Ryu. Just hang on, Kasiya thought, noting that Dante had finished his battle and was now watching hers. We gotta wrap this up so I can watch Dante win his Up-Grade and help him evolve his Porygon. She smiled, for she loved helping her friends evolve their Pokemon.

He doesn't waste a moment, Jaeshan thought, looking to Blaziken. Paralysis was not something he wanted to be dealing with so early on, but he had an idea of how to counter it. "Blaziken, use Focus Energy," he commanded firmly. "Don't look into those eyes, no matter what you do." Blaziken nodded and steeled herself, focusing the fighting energy within herself. Her body became enveloped in a fiery orange aura as she continued to focus and stave off Seviper's menacing glare, the eerie look becoming but a faint memory, like something from a night mare. She did feel a little sluggish despite her best efforts, but she came through it otherwise okay. That's my girl, Jaeshan thought proudly.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 03, 2009 6:46 pm

"Oh no Seviper dear, she isn't looking at your dazzling Glare! And after all the work you put in to making it extra spooky! You're a real jerk Jaeshan. Hehehe, just kidding. That was a good strategy, using focus energy to focus your Blazekin's mind away from my darling poison type pokemon. Hmm...but I wonder, with her mind in a trance and avoiding Seviper's eyes, where is she really looking? Seviper, Poison Fang!" Seviper didn't waste any time, and in typical Kenneth fighting style fashion she had to be at least a little flashy. Her eyes returned to normal as she continued to hiss, tucking her head in and rolling forward, looking somewhat like a doughnut for a slit second before she pushed off of her tail and leaped into the air. The Fang Snake Pokemon opened her jaws wide, fangs glowing purple and filled with terrible venom as she came down fast, using the momentum of her roll to send her forward with extra speed and power.

I've gotta watch out for those horns. They really aren't just for show. Vlad had regained his footing and was waiting impatiently for his trainer to give him his next command. "Alright Vlad use Vacuum Wave!" Eraku said rubbing his chin trying to out think his opponent. "If I get Vlad too close to him he'll just grab Vlad and slam him around. If I use vacuum wave I can take shots at him and keep at a distance." Eraku thought hoping his plan would work out for the best.

Finally the boy gives me something to do. Vlad thought as he crossed his arms into an X and faster than the blink of an eye swung both arms forward. And for a a second it looked as though nothing had happened but just as the pinsir blinked it was hit right in the face with a blast of air move at supersonic speeds. The hit was strong enough to knock the beetle on his back and let it flail about for a while.

"Good Hit Vlad! You got him stunned! Nows the chance to strike use your quick attack and we can be done with this guy!" Eraku aid as he jumped in the air excited over the success of his plan.

I couldn't agree more kid this battle is more than over. Vlad thought as he darted into action.

'Maybe I will attempt the gym,' Riza thought, looking down at her shoes. 'Crenu's right, even with Diemia at the disadvantage we could still come out of it with a win.' She looked over at him and smiled at the comment of her hands. "Moisturizer," she replied with a nod. "It's important to take care of your appearance as well," she added. "Just because you're a strong trainer doesn't mean people are going to respect you, especially if you look like a slob." She chuckled at the last part but then realized she might have offended Crenu. "Not...that you like like a slob," she corrected herself quickly. "I'm just saying, is all." She sat back and decided to be quiet, listening as he spoke of Ken's plan to take him to Sinnoh. There it was again, that strange Sinnoh place. It seemed like everyone was up and running to Sinnoh all at once. A part of her couldn't blame them though, it was pretty exciting, getting to check out a new region and all.

"I guess it would be a good experience," she said thoughtfully. "I wouldn't know what the contests are like over there. I wonder if they're any different from the ones in Johto. Or even Kanto and Hoenn. I know in Hoenn you use the same Pokemon through the appeals round and into the battles if you make it past the first round, but in Kanto you can use different Pokemon for the appeals and appeal battles if you want to." She sighed and leaned back in her seat, looking up at the sky. If she was going to attempt to challenge this Surge fellow, she should get her Pokemon checked out at the pokecenter first. She knew that Eris was far too young to participate, but that didn't mean the Cyndaquil couldn't watch, at the very least. But then again, the thought of a gym match made her feel quite nervous all of a sudden. "So...you think I should try the gym?" she asked tentatively, looking at Crenu again. "And would you come with me if I did?" She was certain he would say no, but it didn't hurt to ask.

"Genki, dodge it and use ember!" Katie called. She knew the attack wasn't overly damaging but she didn't want the chance of Genki getting poisoned by it. The Monferno gave a screech and readied himself, a playful grin etched onto his face. He readied himself before he jumped and did a backwards handspring to escape the oncoming venomous barbs. He landed gracefully and he turned to look back at Katie and gave her a thumbs up before he started to run forward, flames spilling from his mouth.

Katie could only watch with wide eyes as Genki tucked into a roll, the flames he'd spewed wrapping around him like a fiery cloak. He propelled himself forward with incredible speed, smashing into the Croagunk like a flaming wheel. "Oh, I get it," Katie laughed, snapping her fingers. "Genki, you've learned how to do flame wheel! That's awesome!" Genki continued to roll for a few more feet after he'd bowled over the Croagunk and he jumped to his feet, the flames flickering out in an instant. It was safe to say that his opponent was not getting back up again, and the Monferno raced back towards his trainer and jumped up into her outstretched arms. "Genki, you amaze me," she said, hugging him tightly. Genki screeched happily and squeezed Katie right back. He loved making her happy and proud of him.

Crenu smirked when she corrected herself on his appearance, it was kinda funny. "Thank you, though I suppose some new clothes and moisturizer might not be a bad thing. I do agree about taking care of one's image though. Keeping a proper appearance is important not only for trainers but for people in general as it sends a message. As long as you don't overdo it, otherwise you end up looking like Ken." Just the thought of that cape hurt his eyes. That wasn't keeping up appearance anymore, that was just straight foolishness. He listened to her talk about contests in different regions. "I didn't know that. I thought contests were the same everywhere...hmm. It would be interesting to see how they are done in Sinnoh, but to be honest I'm not really sure I even want to go. It was Ken's idea to go there for contests, though I'm pretty sure there are contests going on here in Kanto. I've no real reason to go, nor a real reason to stay." He said nothing more after that as he thought about it, broken from his mental analysis of the situation by Riza's question. "I think you should try at least. Hmm...if I do decide to go to Sinnoh, there are still a few hours before the ferry leaves. I...I guess I could go with you to the gym. It would be interesting to see how you handle the type situation." He said with a little smile, thinking about everything at once. He wasn't really keen on playing observer to battles, but he couldn't say no to her for whatever reason. An thought occurred to him then, which made him look down at the ground. "What are you gonna do after the gym, if you challenge Surge that is. You said you were interested in contests the other day...why not go to Sinnoh...with me? I'm not sure I want to go really, but...I wouldn't mind so much if you came too." Damn that felt awkward to say. He couldn't even believe he said it, and even Crenu was feeling a little embarrassed. But what was wrong really? She was an interesting trainer and he enjoyed her company, that's all right?

"Hm?" Sasha let out a quizzical hum at a loud cheer she heard nearby. It came from the eastern side of town, opposite Cycling Road. With all the commotion, she had a pretty good idea of what it was. The girl mulled it over in her head. "Yeah, I've got time for a tiny detour. Kirsa is probably knee-deep in training so she won't notice me being a little late." She smiled at the thought of her cute little cadet and her puppies. Releasing Omelette, who promptly raced up her arm and onto her shoulder, Sasha strut off to the source of the noise.

And voila! It was indeed a Pokemon battle; just like she thought. It was against two Pokemon that she never really got the chance to see: a Scyther and a Pinsir. "Intéressant." remarked the girl, as her eyes wandered to the trainers. The guy with the Pinsir was nothing special, but something about the blue-haired boy with the Scyther caused her to raise an eyebrow. He had one of those "energetic nice-guy" vibes to him. While she was pondering, the Scyther darted forward and issued weird wind technique that knocked the beetle right on its back. "Nice a frappé." she said to herself as she continued to watch the battle, and the trainer.

Omelette however, wasn't as relaxed or inquisitive as her trainer. One look at the two bugs and she was in the backpack.

Ok maybe Dante had to do a bit more research then he thought. That quick look at the Sinnoh pokemon and a brush up on his other facts as well. It was not a good thing to forget all the type weaknesses and resistances. Feeling rather embarrassed though no one else knew he shifted a little and continued to watch Kasi's battle paying a bit more attention. "Good luck Kasiya and keep up the good work Charmander." Dante sort of encouraged, he wasn't that good at this type of thing, Kasi had done it for him though so it was only fair. Though coming from him it probably didn't sound to encouraging... God damn it he really needed a smoke.

"Hello Masamori." Robin greeted with a big smile on her face and encouraged Luffy and Black*Star to do the same. Both of her pokemon just looked up at the man and grinned and nodded. "Yeah we are going to Sinnoh. How did you know?"

"Ampersand told me. That and the fact that almost all the trainers in Lilycove right now are going to Sinnoh." Masamori explained as if he was explianing it to a child.

Robin though didn't seem to mind or even notice as she laughed at the fact that she had missed something so obvious. " Oh wow I can't believe I missed that. Well, are you going to come to?" Robin asked curiously. This guy might be a trainer and he seemed pretty smart, maybe he could give her some tips. Plus she could find some more stuff from Ampersand, maybe she could put in a good word for him! This guy did say he was his boss after all.

Masamori hadn't really planned on doing more then asking if she was ok but when she asked the question to him he couldn't help but consider it for a moment. "Ah I don't think I am going. I do have some work to do over there but I don't think taking that boat is the best idea." Still there was the fact that there would probably be some criminal activity on that boat, he would probably send one of his subordinates on the ride over. Still he probably would be spending a bit more time with this strangely dressed girl then he originally thought. Her nativity was somewhat refreshing in the world that he lived in. "Would you like to go to an early lunch before the trip?" He found himself asking her.

"Oh that sounds fun!" Robin paused though as she looked down at Luffy and Black*Star. "Umm Luffy eats a lot and I don't have that much money, I don't think I can go with you. Black*Star eats a lot to, there is no way I can go..." Robin's shoulders slumped slightly. "It was nice meeting you though." She said giving him another bright smile despite the fact she had been sad a moment earlier.

Something about the girl reminded him a bit of his little brother, and while there were times when he truly hated his little brother, he did enjoy his outlook and he did what he did to protect that outlook. "Lunch is on me." Masamori offered with a tiny smile, he needed a reminder at times of the light that he strove to protect in the ever darkening world. The smile Robin, Luffy and Black*Star gave him at that statement was brighter then the sun shinning above them.
