[[Does the leader of this RP get on anymore? I applied like a month ago sweatdrop ]]

((WereWeasels, try resending your application. Maybe it got lost in his mess of a mailbox.))

"I don't care!" Erika summoned her electric power and flung it at Derek. Electricity moves at the speed of light. There was no way Derek was dodging. "If he thinks I'm a villain, then I'll show him just how evil a &^$# I can be!"

"Tch, you just won't learn, huh," he asked, releasing the blade.

He turned his back and started walking out of the quickie mart. "If you want to play, go ahead. There's more crime to solve elsewhere," Falcon declared, teleporting back to his base of operations.

Back at the cave, he took off his mask and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a rag he had on a nearby table.

"It'd be really great if I had some sort of transportation," he thought out loud, then glanced at a dark corner.

"I wonder," he began, then stood and walked over to the down space pod hidden in the shadows.

"There must be something here."

"Well, since you know my name there's not much point in wearing this any more," John said, as much to himself as to Taeko. He turned away from Taeko before taking of his mask. Turning back to Taeko he threw the mask onto the table.

Erika growled. "You men are idiots!" But she wasn't about to storm off in a huff, she was waiting for Derek to get back up so she could knock him down again.

Derek saw the lightning leap towards him. He blurred to the right, but not fast enough given their proximity, and was hit by the bolt of ionized air. He screamed.
"If that's not super villainy, I don't know what is!" He said, angry more because of adrenaline than anything. His shoulder was burned pretty bad, and he would probably need to go to the hospital. The flesh beneath the scorched hole in his shirt was black and smoldering. He was sure he could have no nerve endings left there, or it would obviously hurt a lot more than it did.
He tried to retake his fighting stance, but it became obvious that his left arm was useless. There would be no fighting today, not for him. At the speeds he moved, a limp arm could break off entirely. If they did battle, he would have to do so with wits.

((By the way, electricity can only move a maximum of half the speed of light through air.))

Erika nearly snapped when he called her a super villain. The voice in her head spoke. You've become the very thing you despise. Erika shook her head, and started to cry. "I...I'm sorry. I snapped when you called me a villain. People take one look at me and consider me evil. I'm not a villain, I swear. I just...I'm just a worthless sack of nothing." She sat down. "If you want to kill me for what I just did to you, go ahead. I don't deserve to live after striking a fellow hero...what am I saying. I'm no hero, just a cop car chaser."

Derek was a little freaked at the sudden mood swing of the person before him. His mouth literally hung open for a moment there.
"O... Kay..." He said. "Well, since you're not robbing the place... Yeah... I'm gonna go get my arm checked out, or something..." He said, backing toward the door. Then, in a momentary blur of color, he was gone, left arm held close to his body by his right, which made his gait a little awkward.
Maybe this hero thing isn't all it's cracked up to be, he thought to himself as he reflected on his meeting with the ninja-woman.

Erika had nothing left to do except walk home. But that wasn't an option. On the door to her home was a sign that told her she had been kicked out. Erika started to cry. She had nothing left, period. The voice in her head, usually sarcastic, was compassionate-for once. A hero's life is one of trial. Those who can last through the fire are the ones who achieve greatness. Erika realized something: The voice in her head was her brother's voice. She had been losing sight of what being a hero really meant. She passed by a man who stopped and stared. Erika kept walking. She had no clue where to go or what to do...she was just wandering.

"Even with all this, there is not enough resouces available to decipher on my own," he said, holding what looked to be a silver rectangle with alien writing on it.

"No sense brooding over it," he thought, closing the pod up. "One last patrol and I'll call it a night," he said, returning to the city.

When he returned, he turned on his scouter to look for crime. "This area seems clean," he thought, looking around.

Just then, someone caught his eye. It was that crazy woman from earlier.

"What is she doing now," he wondered.

Falcon glided down to the streets below and stopped before Erika.

"What are you doing?"

"Trying to find a place to sleep for the night. I've been kicked out of my house." Erika kept walking, paying no mind to Falcon. "Hey, do you ever get tired of it? Of being a hero?" Erika asked.

Falcon watched her as she passed him. It was only after she had distanced herself that he heard her ask him a question. Anselm turned around. His scouter was still on so he could pretty much see everything on her, or rather, he should have been able to. For some reason, her costume was completely washed out.

Odd. This has never happened before,, he thought, looking up to see the tissue of her face. He clicked his scouter off and began to walk after her.

For a moment, he tried to think of a way he could help her. He knew he would be unable to house her. It would be too dangerous. He could not trust her just yet.

"I do," he began, quickening his pace to walk by Erika's side.

"But someone has to do it. No one is forcing me, but what about you? You looked ready to kill that other guy at the station," he remarked, looking down at the woman.

"I hope you two settled in peace," he related, feeling that a hero should always try to settle a conflict peacefully unless it is otherwise impossible to do so.

Erika scoffed. "There is no such thing as peace, only momentary rest. Life is a never-ending hell. Those who last through the fire are the ones who become great." Erika shook her head. "If only my brother was here..."

Falcon narrowed his eyes underneath his mask. And he was supposed to be the brooding character.

The warrior smiled and said, "You make a good point, but I only do this because I believe that it would inevitably make a difference, even if it is just making the dogs of the slums feel safe at night," he retorted and paused in mid-step to allow a foot of distance between them.
