"Actually that would be excellent," Cindy nodded.
River dirt had some of the most fertile dirt around, though... she wasn't sure if it made any difference to a plant that was going to turn into a cat.
Lin thought about it and shook her head, "There isn't anything else I can think of. She's pretty sure that the cat has no secondary gift, and really it was just the language bit. Since the main thing is, both cats are, or in the case of Rhea's will be raised just in a world different from Gaia."
She shrugged, she had listened to her mother at length about the cats, because it seemed more important since now there were two of them.
"They originally come from a forest, where exactly I don't know, there are about eight or nine types that live in that forest."

Rhea nodded. "Should we take her with us to the river?" she asked. "We can water her right away then, and she can start growing right away!"
Her entire face was beaming as she looked at Cindy.
"Then hopefully she'll be fine growing up in a forest and living here," Adonai smiled. "Though I suppose she wouldn't really be used to one thing or another, not being born yet. Still, animals are bred for certain terrains, and it's best if they live in the terrain they were bred for."

"I'm sure it'll be alright," Cindy replied chuckling a bit, "Though it's still going to take a few days before she blooms."
It was so strange referring to a cat as a plant, but that was true, she was going to bloom and obviously be in very good care.
Lin nodded, though Saki she noted had no problems, but she was a small kitty, a bit big for a butterfly because of her normal bloodline, but still she was small. "Yea.... Wish can still hunt, though she mainly hunts fish, I've never seen her hunt a bird, but the birds where we live would be too small, they're just song birds...."
There was a thought, in a forest where there was oboviously game compared to back home, would this one hunt.
"I guess that is the other point you could check for, what would she hunt if she chose to, there's bigger game here more suited to a cat that size."

"Okay!" Rhea said happily, running out of the room again, pot in hand. She scooped up the branch and fluffball once she was in the hall again, then headed towards the stairs once more. "Come on!" she urged Cindy. "I want her to grow as fast as she can!"
And she started down the stairs as fast as her feet would take her.
"Now there's a thought," Adonai mused. "Come to think of it, I've never seen Saki try to hunt anything, in all the times I've been there. On the other hand, the ranch has no troubles with mice ... maybe they're afraid of her anyways. I'll keep an eye open for that - though I would imagine it might be a little while before we can even find that out, won't it?"

Cindy laughed and followed Rhea has fast as her feet could take her. She wondered if Rhea even heard her saying it would take a few days. Ah well, she thought it was something that would keep Rhea busy, and the cat was probably going to be very spoiled.
Actually Lin couldn't imagine Saki hunting for mice, probably because Saki was always acting like the needy cat she played for the kids. Which begged the question what was Saki like when she wasn't begging for pets, or was she naturally like that?
"Hmm..." Lin tried to remember the growth time line, "An elvish month? No... a bit less than that... a week to bloom, a week before the bloom drops and then a month of maturation, I think..."

Rhea left the front door open behind her so that Cindy wouldn't have to open it again (since she was pretty much right behind her anyways) and headed around the house once more, still clutching the branch and the pot as tightly as her little hands could.
"So about a month, our time," Adonai nodded. "Since your weeks are longer than ours, but your months are shorter."
"In time for our trip?" Shael asked her husband quietly.
Adonai shrugged. "Perhaps. Perhaps not. Though with Rhea learning the staff now, perhaps it would be best that we wait until next summer after all. Your brother and sister will understand. After all, it's best that Rhea have a better control of her magic before we go anywhere with her anyways - especially to a big city where there will be thousands of magic users in one place."
It would be like a magical smorgasbord for Rhea's abilities.

Oh yes... she had forgotten that their weeks were shorter, so it would be roughly a Elvish month then. One would think she would remember that since she raised Saki, but appearently not. Listening to them, Lin couldn't help but agree, it made her wonder what would happen if they took Toshiro to a big city.
Actually if she recalled he had actually trained every day longer than usual while they were at the Southland.
"Well, I'm sure she wouldn't mind if it got held off as well, I think Rhea is too thrilled at the idea of helping grow a pet," Lin murmured rummaging through her bag again, she pulled out four snowflake cookies covered in icing and handing them to Adonai, "Don't forget to name her. Anyhow these are for the four of you. I'll drop by the other two hopes after I get back from the Ranch."

Adonai chuckled softly and held his hands out for the cookies. "Thank you very much," he said warmly. "Be sure to tell your parents hello for us, won't you?"
He was startled suddenly as Rhea rushed past them, heading towards the river, and as quickly as she had appeared, she was gone.
Shael smiled after Rhea and moved closer to Adonai and Lin. "And be sure to thank your mother for the cat," she added. "I think it's safe to say that Rhea is thrilled for the opportunity to take care of someone."

"Beyond thrilled," Cindy added as she passed them waving, "That cat is going to be spoiled."
She had no doubt about it, as she followed Rhea to the river so they could get dirt for it. There was just something very amusing about all of this.
Lin laughed a bit watching the two before nodding at Shael and Adonai, "I will, don't worry. I better get going, I see you both another time."
She waved as she left to make the rest of her deliveries.

"Goodbye for now," Adonai smiled at Lin, waving as she headed off.
Shael laughed softly. "It looks like Rhea's going to be having quite a day ... between a new pet to care for, and the cookies, it will be a miracle if she goes to sleep tonight."
Adonai chuckled. "Well, let's just head inside for now and put the cookies away. Maybe we can bribe her or something."
Rhea fell to her knees at the river's edge and carefully held the branch upright in the pot. With her free hand she dug her fingers into the rich soil of the riverbank and pulled it up, dumping it into the pot.
"Help me, Cindy!" she exclaimed gleefully as her teacher drew nearer.

Chuckling a bit more, because it was far too amusing not to, Cindy squated to mininize the amount of dirt seh would get on her dress (though she would probably need to change later anyways).
She scooped up a handful of dirt between both of her hands and put it carefully into the pot.
"Here we go...."

Once there was enough dirt to hold up the branch, Rhea let go of it and used both hands to scoop it up. Once the pot was nearly full, she patted it all down and grinned up at Cindy. "Now we water it, right?" she asked brightly. "How much?"
She scooted down to the river and cupped her hands in the water, then hurried back up to where Cindy and the pot were waiting. "This much? Or more?"

"I think that should be enough, the dirt by the river is already moist so for now she doesn't need a lot of water," Cindy replied, "Only later you'll have to check how dry the dirt is every day."
Especially since the plant was going to be where sun was, and sun tended to dry up something like this pretty quickly.

"Okay," Rhea grinned, pouring the water into the pot. She watched as it disappeared into the soil, then wiped her hands on her skirt and picked up the pot again.
"Where should I keep her?" she asked. "In my room, I mean."

"Probably near your window so she can get some sun," Cindy murmured, "Since, until she drops her bloom will eat the way plants do, with water and sun."
After that then, they could feed her normal foods.
