stare *cricket* *cricket* stare

Should I even respond to that.

Dew does dance, but now she's having second thoughts about it. And about ever visiting the mountains...

Joking. I never realized there were that many jokes from Dew. I love the mountain dew one!

Ooo! Question. Does anyone have any character sketches of their elvs, besides their avvie? I have nothing to do, so I'm working on my drawing. I already id some of Dew, and her bro. But I want a diff elf to work with. Anyone?

My avie looks so little like my wavedancer I'm embarrassed. I'd love somebody to draw him.

@ Savith: You drew that? O.o
PostPosted: Sun Aug 10, 2008 1:48 pm

Oh, Savvy! If you drew that, kudos. Now I feel sort of lowly in the art scale. My goal is draw that good!

Aww, Fishie, don't feel bad. Maybe Savvy or someone can draw you a good pic. Just give them a detailed description. i'd love to take a try at drawing a wavedancer, but again, my skills apparently aren't as good as Savvy.

OMG, Savi is an awesome artist! He's the one who taught me to draw when I started!
PostPosted: Sun Aug 10, 2008 8:46 pm

I should start to draw again... ::Sighs:: I miss it in truth. Sitting here I find many times I am bored waiting for anyone to show up... I could do it then I guess... ::Blinks:: I need to buy me a sketch book... lol Although I was never good at depth... Shadowing always messed me up and thus many of my pics looks flat... lol Still I enjoyed it... blaugh 3nodding 4laugh rofl heart wink

Oh but I could copy almost anything... lol I will have to scan some of the elves I did from the books... Time to root around in the atic with the spiders and a time in my life that has long past... lol

It was very hard work and I still don't think I'm really any good. Then again, this is what I compare myself to:

My other sister is a Bachelor's of Fine Arts and this was some of the pencil and color pencil work she did for her BFA Show she needed to do to graduate. I can remember drawing a scene from the Graphic novels, then taking to her and asking her what was wrong with it, listening to every little critique, then going back and doing it again. Over and over until she got annoyed or I get tired. She usually got annoyed first. I guess I won?

Anyway, my time's stretched thin, but I do want to eventually do artwork for every character playing. Someday...

Hey gang. I started a 'Play My Alt' type thread in the OOC Character Applications subforum. Figured it'd be a good place if anyone had any family or enemies they wanted to see get a player. smile

Go check it!

Plot Update!

All the pieces are in place for Hurricane Pini, Chapter One: Two if by Sea! Our very own Adin Crosscurrent aka Halfkin will be kicking off this plot on Friday, August 15th with the plot's opening pose. Please remember that this plot is slotted to take place one week after Dewpaw's return to the Cove. Please close out all RP ICly taking place before she left. Feel free to continue scenes already in progress happening in the week prior to the storm.

The die roll on this post indicates the strength of the upcoming storm:

1 - Tropical Storm : Winds below 74 mph, storm surge below 4 feet.

2 - Category One Hurricane : Winds 74-95 mph (64-82 kt or 119-153 km/hr). Storm surge generally 4-5 ft above normal. No real damage to building structures. Damage primarily to unanchored mobile homes, shrubbery, and trees. Some damage to poorly constructed signs.

3 - Category Two Hurricane : Winds 96-110 mph (83-95 kt or 154-177 km/hr). Storm surge generally 6-8 feet above normal. Some roofing material, door, and window damage of buildings. Considerable damage to shrubbery and trees with some trees blown down. Considerable damage to mobile homes, poorly constructed signs, and piers. Coastal and low-lying escape routes flood 2-4 hours before arrival of the hurricane center. Small craft in unprotected anchorages break moorings.

4 - Category Three Hurricane : Winds 111-130 mph (96-113 kt or 178-209 km/hr). Storm surge generally 9-12 ft above normal. Some structural damage to small residences and utility buildings with a minor amount of curtainwall failures. Damage to shrubbery and trees with foliage blown off trees and large trees blown down. Mobile homes and poorly constructed signs are destroyed. Low-lying escape routes are cut by rising water 3-5 hours before arrival of the center of the hurricane. Flooding near the coast destroys smaller structures with larger structures damaged by battering from floating debris. Terrain continuously lower than 5 ft above mean sea level may be flooded inland 8 miles (13 km) or more.

5 - Category Four Hurricane : Winds 131-155 mph (114-135 kt or 210-249 km/hr). Storm surge generally 13-18 ft above normal. More extensive curtainwall failures with some complete roof structure failures on small residences. Shrubs, trees, and all signs are blown down. Complete destruction of mobile homes. Extensive damage to doors and windows. Low-lying escape routes may be cut by rising water 3-5 hours before arrival of the center of the hurricane. Major damage to lower floors of structures near the shore. Terrain lower than 10 ft above sea level may be flooded requiring massive evacuation of residential areas as far inland as 6 miles (10 km).

6 - Category Five Hurricane : Winds greater than 155 mph (135 kt or 249 km/hr). Storm surge generally greater than 18 ft above normal. Complete roof failure on many residences and industrial buildings. Some complete building failures with small utility buildings blown over or away. All shrubs, trees, and signs blown down. Complete destruction of mobile homes. Severe and extensive window and door damage. Low-lying escape routes are cut by rising water 3-5 hours before arrival of the center of the hurricane. Major damage to lower floors of all structures located less than 15 ft above sea level and within 500 yards of the shoreline. Massive evacuation of residential areas on low ground within 5-10 miles (8-16 km) of the shoreline may be required.
