Angel just looked at the man and laughed. "No, but Merlyn needed someone to cover for her so that she could join the military. I just happened to be the one to do it." She smiled lightly, "I can't remember how many injuries; major and minor, that I had to take care of on that girl!"

Matt rubbed the back of his neck. "That's Merlyn for yah," he said. "I swear, she's like a twin brother than a twin sister!" He looked at Angel. "She's a very literate girl. I think that's why she joined. She realized something that I couldn't see in a thousand years." He smiled. "Well, I guess since Birdie trusted you with her wounds, I guess she expects me to do the same thing.."

Angel smiled and chuckled lightly. "Birdie?" She raised an eyebrow and just shook her head, "I can take care of you, no problem; just don't tell anyone about it or else the highers might get suspicious of it."

Angel nodded and smiled. "Interesting, something I didn't know." She looked at Matthew with a wide smile. "Then how about we get you checked over and make sure that you're alright?"

Matt nodded. "Sure, whatever you need to do, Doc." He walked over and sat on a bed because they were now in the hosptial wing.

The fight ended in a draw, both major swayed on their feet coughing up blood. Isha cradled his left arm which was broken and Joseph was clutching his side as if he had broken some ribs and his right eye was swollen. "Another draw," Isha said as he spat out more blood," that keeps the score at zero:zero after 23 fights." Isha watched Joseph try to answer before collapsing, he stared at him before collapsing himself. The soldiers picked them up and headed to the medical tents as they talked about the fight and debated who was the better fighter over the two unconcious majors.

Angel had neared the medical tents and over heard the fighting.
"No!" One soldier stated, "Major Isha's the best!"
"Not a chance!" Another responded, "Joseph had him beat!"
The arguing just continued until Angel stepped in. "That is enough, all of you! Now stop arguing and take Major Isha to my quarters. Major Joseph will go to one of the top doctors here!" She gave the orders harshly and with out thought. She had learned how to from working in the hospital for so long and was now finding it put to good use.

Mathius looked around and noticed he was not supposed to be in here...he stood up walked quickly to kiss Merlyn and walked out...as he took his steps out he spoke..."Thank you..."He shut the door lightly and slept outside the door just to make sure nobody came to get in...

Melryn blushed as Mathius kissed her again. When he was out the door, she fell asleep in her cot...bed...whatever it was. She had a nightmare of a battle she had fought. It was the bloodiest thing she had ever seen. One of her most loyal subordinates had died as she tried to save him. She tossed and turned, hoping to make the bloody and hellish images get out of her head. She could hear the cannon fire and smell the smoke and iron stench of blood.
