That'd actually be slightly more anatomically accurate... well, it would if male birds, as a general rule had penises. <.<

More ugliness from anti-choicers:

NARAL |Anti-Choice Blogger Cruelly Mocks Women's Experiences

Yeah, so basically there's only one linked here, and I'm afraid to click the link and see the rest. The example one is bad enough. They're mocking a woman who had to terminate a very wanted pregnancy because the fetus had anencephaly. Wikipedia cites a description from The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke:
Quote:
A baby born with anencephaly is usually blind, deaf, unconscious, and unable to feel pain. Although some individuals with anencephaly may be born with a main brain stem, the lack of a functioning cerebrum permanently rules out the possibility of ever gaining consciousness. Reflex actions such as breathing and responses to sound or touch occur.

[Not linking the wiki page because the pics are very disturbing]

So... the fetus isn't even really "alive", the parents are in mourning, and this blogger is ******** mocking them. gonk

It's things like this that really remind me of why I switched sides. This is absolutely pathetic and callous, and this coming from a guy who calls himself an emotionally coarse jackass. ******** you, poster, you and your ilk. Trying to emotionally blackmail random passers-bye is bad enough but mocking a grieving mother for aborting a fetus that would have died within days is monstrous.

Yeah. Especially considering the fact that it's often risky for the woman to give birth in that situation. These are circumstances that most pro-life people or people on the fence would consider reasonable exceptions. The fetus is physically incapable of feeling pain, it's going to die soon, and the woman's life and health are threatened. It's ******** insane.

But wait, there's moar!
Women's Rights at Change.org | Anti-Choice Candidate Sharron Angle Attacks Maternity Leave
Quote:
"How about maternity leave? I'm not going to have any more babies, but I sure get to pay for it on my insurance. Those are the kinds of things we want to get rid of."

Yep. Force women to have babies they don't want and then don't give them any help in caring for them. You're post-menopausal, so it doesn't affect you anymore!

Oh, and that includes rape and incest victims:
Quote:
: "You know, I'm a Christian and I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of our lives and that he can intercede in all kinds of situations and we need to have a little faith in many things."

Quote:
Stock: What do you say then to a young girl, I am going to place it as he said it, when a young girl is raped by her father, let's say, and she is pregnant. How do you explain this to her in terms of wanting her to go through the process of having the baby?

Angle: I think that two wrongs don't make a right. And I have been in the situation of counseling young girls, not 13 but 15, who have had very at risk, difficult pregnancies. And my counsel was to look for some alternatives, which they did. And they found that they had made what was really a lemon situation into lemonade.

Sharon Angle scares the s**t out of me. Thankfully the more we learn about her, the worse her poll results get.

http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2010/10/11/prolife-action-league-asks-wont-women-sacrifice

Study shows that women with breast cancer may not be at risk of harm to themselves or their fetuses when they get treatment. Anti-abortion groups are taking it as a sign that abortion is never neccessary to save women's lives.

A quote from a quote in the article:
Quote:
According to Scheidler, that prospective starts with a doctor who values a human life and considers the fetus as a client. It also requires that mothers consider self-sacrifice.

“At least consider the possibility of sacrifice,” he advised. “That used to be considered a noble thing. Now people consider you insane when you talk about sacrificing yourself. At least consider the option of sacrifice even if that sacrifice is [no] treatment for the duration of the pregnancy for yourself.”

Yeah. They really do want women to risk death so that fetuses can live.

How in the flying ******** can you be in the pro-family camp and OPPOSE maternity/paternity leave which exists, in large part, to promote parental bonding with the new infant and integrating this new little one into the family unit?

Because "pro-family" is a meaningless term.

Also: Here's an example of that last quote's logic being applied:
Quote:
Edyta* was two months pregnant when she was diagnosed with the painful colon disease which was aggravated by her pregnancy. When she sought medical care in her Polish hometown and other cities, however, doctor after doctor refused to treat her illness because she was pregnant. They repeatedly expressed concern about the fetus, but none of them formally raised a moral or religious objection so they did not have to refer Edyta to a doctor that would treat her. Edyta's symptoms grew worse until she miscarried and eventually, died.

I just remembered the most cruel pro-life quote of all time.

Quote:
“If I’ve got fifteen seconds my first 5 or 8 seconds might be really tender and pleading with them and then, then my voice gets more shrill ‘Don’t do this, don’t let them murder your baby! Mommy, please don’t kill me, mommy don’t kill me!”, while they’re going in the door just to hope that some phrase that I say will haunt them while they sit in the waiting room.”

-Randall Terry, former head of anti-abortion protest group Operation Rescue

What's wrong with this?

He's talking about George Tiller's clinic. Which was known for providing late-term abortions for women whose pregnancies had become life-threatening. Some of whom only believed abortion was acceptable for the woman's health. Some of whom felt like they really were losing a child.

Terry is an a*****e of the highest degree.
