She smiled as he called her on wishing to hear fairy tales. Ignoring the comment on her age, she looked up at him expenctantly. She loved the way he told stories. His voice dripped with the tale as it took to the wind and wrapped her imagination around images and places she only saw in her dreams. The tale would embrace her and it would be like she was there, like she had never left the Captains side. Sighing, she looked up to the stars. They were the only things that were unchanging to her, at least they had stayed the same, they were still in a place where she could find them.

Leaning closer to the Captain as to not miss any part of the story since his voice seemed to rise and fall in intensity and volume. Sipping from her wine cup again, she made herself comfortable for a long awaited story.

*As Aeoess was holding many items of worth, she was starting to realise that her problem with being a kleptomniac would not get any better at this rate. She then began to return everything to it's place (To the best of her knowledge..), as she returned, she saw that very little has changed from when she was gone, aside from the captain, and the host of this party..

Aeoess wanted to leave quietly, for almost committing her crime, however she was compelled to stay thanks to her overhearing the captain speaking of stories of how he started out, where he went, how he obtained the crew, and what not..

She decided to sit near them and listen well to his story, and as she did she stayed silent, looking to the stars and thinking of what her story might one day be..*

Outside the manor:
"Damn it…. Now I don't even know where I am." Artmis mumbles to herself.
Artemis sees the lights on and wanders up to the manor’s door.
Her knocks are answered by a maid.
"er.. Hello. Excuse me.." Artemis starts.
"Oh, you must be here for the party." The maid interrupts
"No, I'm not here for a party. I seem to have lost my way trying to find the captain of the Lady Washington, ::sigh:: but now I'm just trying to get back to the port. Could you give me directions, please?" Artemis asks.
"Miss, the party is FOR the captain of the Lady Washington."
::Artemis stares at her in disbelief::
"If you'll just follow me; they are in the dining room." the maid says leading Artemis into the manor. “…In here….” The maid gestures to a room full of people.

As Artemis enters the room, she realizes she forgot to ask which one was the captain! Taking a deep breath, and she addresses the crowd boldly “Which of you are the captain of the Lady Washington? I wish to join your crew and make a name for myself on the high seas!” She looks around at the assembled group.

((I’m still new to RPing- so please be patient with me.)

*A silence falls over the long, crowded dinner table. All heads seem to have turned to the newly arrived stranger. She had demanded their attention, and she seemed to have gotten what she asked for.

Kurisutofa's gaze was that of bewilderment. Closing his eyes, he sank into his chair. He didn't want to be 'Captain' Kurisutofa tonight, he wanted to be 'Lucky Jack': singer of songs, story-teller extraordinaire & victim of the gaze of beautiful women. Surrounded by this wonderful company, it was impossible to ask him to be relied upon to accept his responsibilities as a captain. But alas, it had to be done.

Straighting himself in his chair, he returned his eyes to the table. Mrs. Melaria, Miss Kale, Reginald, Miss Beaumont, Mr. Ilor & the rest of the Crew that had decided to join them at banquet, sat there waiting for him to begin his story.*

"Pardon me for a moment, if you would excuse me."

*Pushing his chair back, he slammed his napkin into his seat and swiftly paced over to where the slimey, mangey, cad (that had quite interupted their dinner) stood. Looking to teh table, he smiled and signaled for a moment of privacy. Turning to the girl...*

"Your seachest shall be stored in the hold, you're to sling a cot in the gunroom, your position shall be that of a common powder-monkey until we get to see what your capable of: when we return, you are to report to Miss Ares, she is our Gunnery Officer.
(:sigh smile
I am Captain, and as such, my word is law... blah blah blah... all the common formalities... Welcome Aboard.
I hope you enjoy your stay. Now if you'd be so kind..."

*Bowing a trifle, he backs away, points out an empty seat for the new guest and retakes his place at the head of the table. Tucking his napkin into his collar, he takes a swig of wine and places the glass on the table and stops to contemplate. Looking about...*

"Right then... where was I?"

"Thank you, captain." Artemis says and quickly takes an empty seat at the table. She glances at the seated guests and smiles real big and friendly at anyone who looks her way. She takes a piece a bread from the table and waits quietly for the conversation to resume.

Baxter had watched the spectacle created by the new person stumbling into the banquet hall; he observed that the Captain didn't seem to be too pleased with this at all. Rather than ask about it, he decided to move on like nothing happened at all

With a slight hint of sarcasm in his voice, Baxter replied, "I believe you were about to regail us with a tale from your youth, or something of that nature." The good Doctor raised his drink and nodded with a grin toward the Captain.

*The ship seemed a lot bigger with no one on it. Maybe she should have gone with them after all... But no. It was ok. And it was probably a good idea to have someone stay with the ship, anyway. Omi sat down and whistled a song to herself.*

((Sorry that I haven't been doing anything. I couldn't really think of anything to do, considering I didn't follow you guys. ^^;; Forgive me.))

The commotion at the end of the sun deck drew her attention away from the Captains face, though reluctantly. Her eyes lazily glanced towards the door opening onto the deck and saw an unfamiliar face. Frowning, her gaze shifted to the Captain as he excused himself to talk with the misterious guest. A quiet settled about the table and she strained to hear what was being said, ignoring her plate and the maids as they brought out the dessert. The smell of fresh fruit filled the air and the soft spongy cake looked too good to ignore.

The Captain returned and took his place at the table. The Doctor reminded him where he had left off as she gnetly spooned him some cake and strawberries.

*Aeoess was happy to see that all of the crew attending were in good spirits but she couldn't help but feel out of place..She got up and proceeded to the captain and to Lady Melaria*

"I don't wish to interupt "Lucky Jack", but I just wanted you to know that I shall be returning to the ship; I have grown very tired this day..And this night.."

*She turns to Lady Malaria*

"Thank you so much for allowing me to be here, your home is beautiful, the food was excellent, and all of your belongings are...In their correct places."

*She turns to the captain again*

"Oh, and before I forget..."

*Hands the captain the poster of Orlando Bloom*

"I feel that you deserve the great honor of burning this.."

*She then walks calmly to the door; she was happy...She got to experience something new, a joyious time where everything was fancy, and..She didn't steal anything this time*

*Raised eyebrowl*

"Gladly, Miss Aeoess. I shall burn it immediatley."

*Taking his eyes off of his crewman, he stares in thought and then returns his mind to the present. Looking about and to the Doctor.*

"Well, my dear Reginald, I'm sorry to say, but I seem to have forgotten how the story begins. It's been so very long, and all the years seem to sink into one another. Would you mind so terribley much if I asked if you'd tell us of your expierences in battle? You handled yourself wonderfully in the field during our little encounter here in Toulon. Mind you, that was one of the most bloody battles I've been a part of for years. We lost about a third of our crew alone, not to mention the British wounded. My how you danced across the grounds, Reginald. I was very impressed."

((Hello again. A thousand apologies to the Cap'n. School stuff))

A bit dazed, he finally came back up to the main deck. He saw that it was empty and decided to fish. He hadn't done that in quite awhile. He sat by the edge of the ship and cast his reel, hoping the fish were biting.

"My experiences on the battlefield? I do believe you are mistaken. I was a child of fortune and breeding. I grew up as the first-born son of a wealthy family in London. I'm sure that my bumbling on the battlefield was little more organized than that of somebody trying to escape the carnage." Baxter smiled dryly.

He did not understand why he still did not talk about that part of his life. While it was true that he had never killed anybody until Toulon, he had seen battle before. It was not his proudest moment to be sure. He was forced into service to serve sentence for crimes committed. He had stolen food to satiate his hunger. That much was shameful enough, although given his current company, he probably would not be faulted for it. However, the fact that his last experience on the battlefield ended with him screaming in a dark corner of an abandoned warehouse was still all too painful to remember, let alone share with others.

(I'm baaaack!)
A hint of a smile played about Syn's lips, the accountant glancing up and running a finger through the grey bangs that were falling over her eyes. The normally jovial girl had been turned quite solemn by the dinner table, for reasons known only to herself and Tuslo. She ran a finger around the edge of her dinner plate, stopping immediately when she saw where she touched tarnished to a sooty black. She quickly grabbed her napkin and wiped at the marks on the formerly pure white plate, albeit discreetly so no one would look over at her and ask her what was going wrong. By now she wished she had told the Captain that she had things to do on the boat. This whole affair would be so much easier if she... wasn't there at all. The black gunk finally wiped off, only to get all over the napkin.
Cursing mentally, she stowed the marred section under her leg and arranged the rest of it neatly on her lap. Innocent smile on her face, trying to concentrate on the others in the room.

*seeing to that her and her crew had outfitted the ship according to the Captain's orders, they took a rest. They gathered around a candle below deck with some rum and reminisced at times past. They took turns telling stories about the old days, making everyone laugh and enjoy the night without work. After a bit of rum was gone, the crew wanted to try out the new guns, as a tribute to Toulon. So, Ares obliged, kinda wanting to do the same. Since the land was on the starboard side, they shot the port guns, straight into the water. The shots could be heard all over the city, they presumed, and they hooted in celebration!*
