Waves of mana blasted both attacks away. Attempts to counter were ineffective; the Arts-Demonic were largely unfamiliar to Jessica's adversaries.

Darius shrugged and let loose a burst of Elemental Whirlwind followed by a detonation on his skin.
((EDIT: I need to go to bed soon. Like, almost immediately.
So again, DON'T OVER POST.
Like you did while I was ogne.))

Jessica rushed in fast enough to clear the whirlwind before it could fully form, kicking Darius' face seconds before the explosion.

Darius was still trying to figure out why that was supposed to stop him even with all that force when the front layer of shadow detonated.

As the foot made contact, Darius felt his senses seeming to become inconsistent, self-contradictory. He was simultaneously receiving and not receiving sensations of touch, sound, sight, all from the same points and different points. It was madness.
((Y'know, she's not a normal United. She's bound to a demon-major instead of a demon-minor or whatever else.))

((SCREW THAT DARIUS IS GOING TO BLOW THINGS UP))
Darius still could see no darned decent reason he shouldn't blow up the front side of his shadow skin.

Darius did so.
Thuriel created a wall of hexagonal mana walls in front of his host - the infamous Angel technique nicknamed the "beehive barrier."

Jacob's eyebrows elevated in mild surprise. "A little messy and just a little brutal..." he said as he hopped the barrier, landing on his good foot, "but it works for me."

"Well, quit stumbling around, then," Rose replied as Jacob nearly slipped on a puddle of blood. "If you didn't keep stripping your Chameleonic or, ah, greeting the barricaded vampires, we wouldn't have had to even touch these guys."

Joe flitted in from behind and did a quick series of stabs, ending with a downward chop, the whole thing bearing an incredible amount of mana for extra force.

((Jacob didn't strip his Chameleonic...))
Jacob sighed as he regained his balance, "All right, all right, let's just go." he urged.

Darius shrugged, regrew his skin, then more or less liquified and slid away, out from directly under her, tossing bolts of fire and air at her to keep her distant.
Paul continued to do nothing - ammo was precious.
Fyrin kept watching the fight, waiting for an opening.

The beehive barrier shifted in an arc to block Joe's attacks as Diarus' were dodged.

Alan nodded and led them to a staircase.

Hmm... Fyrin did a quick soul check. Grabbing souls was a little like phasing, and since phasing defeated shields... well. If he could even just pull at the Unity's soul, that would deeply affect her/his combat ability.
"Seriously, though, do I know you?" Darius asked Jessica, firing another brief, small burst of Elemental Whirlwind from his gaping mouth. He was, as was characteristic of him, growing.

Jessica halted the elemental whirlwind with an arts-demonic technique. Well, that was new. "Legion's regards as well!" she shouted, thrusting a hand at Darius. A chunk of Darius' middle was blown out.
Fyrin discovered that the two souls had no actual division - they were one soul, and he could not do anything to move it from the body.
