Destiny sat down on the steps next to Syn.
" Well my friend, it was by chance, and yet it was not, that I came to be aboard the Lady. It all started about year before I landed on the Isla de Provoka......"
As Destiny began relating her tale, it almost seemed as if pictures formed in the air, clear enough so that Syn could almost see what Destiny was describing.
" Destiny is my given name, but many, many, years ago,-somtimes it feels like it was another century- I went by Westra, and I sailed with my half-brother, Wesley. He taught me the high art of piracy, swordplay with daggers and short blades, navigation, sailmaking, ship repair, and how to run a ship. I started out as a common sailor, then worked my way up through the ranks, and eventually, through a clever plan and a lot of luck, I managed to capture a fine little ship of my own. I decided to call it the ' Intangible Treasure", because nobody could ever catch up to that little ship. I became a Captain, and created my own flag, but sailed under my brother as part of his fleet. Everything was going well, until one day, about a month after taking on some new crewman. The new crew munitnied, and set me adrift in a tiny lifeboat. One of my loyal crewman, unbeknownst to the others, managed to hide my weapons, map, compass, and food and drink aboard the lifeboat. Thanks to that, I managed to sail and row the boat to an Island called Provoka. There, I could start over again, with nobody knowing who I was, or caring. There, I found the Lady, and joined up as cook. Ever since then, I have been happily cooking aboard the Lady, and I'm content where I am. The occasional fight is welcomed, gives me a chance to practice my swordplay.
And that is my story, if somewhat shortened version of it. Do you have any other question?"
Destiny sat back, and the pictures in air faded quickly, as if they had never been. She sighed.. it had been so long since she had told anyone of her brother...

*Aeoess kept going onward and attempted to find the main road that the Captain spoke of earlier..But had found ways to get a little lost. She went to see if they was anyone to ask. Most just went on with their buiness ignoring her. Aeoess ended up picking all of their pockets while they were busy, then one of the town folk noticed the kleptomaniac and called for the authorities.*
"Dammit!"
*Aeoess then realised that it wouldbe unwise to fight these guards, after all, her crewmates clearly came in piece..So she ran quickly away from the guards*
*She then saw a corner leading to the back of someone else's property, she took it quickly as she noticed more people doing their business, after all, they provided the oppertunity to escape. She then look around and saw some signs, one of which was the main road..and it was only a couple of blocks away*
"I hope I'm not late..."
*She was careless while walking when a guard came from no where and apprihended her.*
*As the guards carried her off they read the list of charges and brought her to her holding cell*
"Heh..Now I WILL be late.."
*She then looked to see what she had with her, if she was lucky she wouldn't have to rely on the crew to get her out (IF they decided to even bother..), she saw some powders, her dagger (The guards didn't bother to check to see what she had on her (Even though they took the money she stole))..*
"Hmm.." *She then started to think of what she could do to escape..She even tried to think of a way to escape with a low profile*

(|Continued from Captain's Quarters|) *As the companionway hatchway swung open, the Captain assisted Miss Kale upon getting the beautiful long gown up the stairs without incident. Clearing the material from the stairs, Kurisutofa followed her ondeck and then took her by the arm and led her on their stroll down the quarterdeck, descended the quartersteps and then along the midship and to the siderail. Climbing over the rail, he turned back to Jaden and extended his arms out to her. Gently taking her by the waist, he lifted her up and over the side. His fingers tickling at her side in play, he placed her delicatley on the gangplank and offered his arm to her once more. Not a word was said as they left the ' Lady', yet no sound was needed. It was a beautiful night with a sky full of brightly shining stars and a thin silver whisp of a cresent moon. The scene was that of fairytales and picture books. Leading her onto dry land, Captain Kurisutofa stopped and looked back to the ship. There were still a few men aboard, but hopefully they would be enough incase of emergency. Most of the Crew would be attending the ball... but he would not allow that to play a part in tonights happenings. Tonight was special. Turning back to his guest, he bowed in the most gentlemanly fashion he knew and then took her hand and kissed it in courtesy.* "Might I be allowed the honour of acting as your escort to the Ball, Miss Jaden Kale? It would be my utmost pleasure, my dear."

*Jaden smiled as she ascended the stairs and came out onto the deck. A cool breeze drifted past her and stroked invisible tendrils across her cheeks as it entangled itself within her hair flowing from beneath the tarpaulin hat. It was if the air was electric and charged with energy, for her whole face lit up once more with excitement.
Coming to the siderail, she was a tad suprised at the Captain's play at her waist. She muffled a giggle, yet her eyes danced with with joy at the way the evening was begining to turn out already. She smiled once more at the Captain as she was placed on the gangplank and took up the Captain's arm once again.
Stopping upon dry land, she watched as the Captain looked back to the ship, inspecting the number of men still staying aboard to keep anything wrong at bay. She looked up at the moon's sharp crescent tip and then slowly focused on the stars twinkling around it. Fireflies could be seen setting the sky and ground below them slightly aglow, making everything seem just a tad more surreal. Nothing could possibly ruin the excitement coursing through her this night, for she was in far to high spirited a mood to have anything spoil it.
She noticed the Captain bow to her and her face flushed once more as he took hold of her hand and kissed it politely. Upon hearing his request, she smiled and nodded.*
"My dearest Captain... the honor would be all mine, thank you." She closed her eyes and dropped her head slightly as she curtseyed as best she could, for she hadn't had to be so formal in quite a long time.
*Standing back up, she smiled again as she looked around the docks. Off a ways from where they stood, she could see the Doctor fidgeting with his shirt and vest as he waited for the Captain at the designated area. She stifled a small laugh as she saw him tugging at his clothing.*
"He must be rather uncomfortable in proper attire..." she pondered. "how funny... for I feel much the same way." She pushed a few stray curls from her shoulder and shook her head slightly whilest smiling before taking the Captain's arm and walking towards the rendevous area.

*With a gorgeous girl on one arm and his other swinging in pure delight, the Kurisutofa whistled the tune he'd been playing earlier. Drawing near to the meeting place, he sighted Doctor Baxter, Miss Destiny and a few of the others.*
"Reginald! I say, Reginald, old boy!"
*Watching as the doctors eyes went wide with the mention of the name given him at birth, Kurisutofa waved his hand*
"Be damned the formalities for this beautiful night, my dear. First-names, footloose and fancy-free for us rough-going rouges this evening."
*Checking his watch that was kept in his vest pocket...*
"I believe that we might not make the mansion by 6 bells at this rate. We must make haste in hopes of meeting Miss Melaria along the way. She should be along soon enough. So, let us be gone..."

Letting the Captain and Miss Kale walk by the Doctor followed beind them.
"And hey, better late than never."

With the flowers in her hand she arrived at the spt agreed upon by the captain to meet. She looked around and was suprised that she was early. Smoothing out some of the wrinkles in her Sari, she found the flattest rock she could and sat upon it, waiting for the crew.

((I'll be gone until Saturday the 8th, so feel free to NPC me as being generally good spirited, but quiet overall. Enjoy the festivities! Oh, and Happy Independence Day!))
*As they walked down the street at a rather fast pace, they cmae upon Miss Melaria standing there in the street with some flowers in one hand. Taking these to be a part of the attire she wore, he bowed to her.*
"Good Evening, Melaria. Shall we continue to your residence or should you like to lingure about? If not... lets get going shall we? I'd hate to wait too long. I'll die of anticipation."
*Taking her arm in his free one, he gesutres to continue their journey to Melaria's Ball.*

Destiny stood up from her rock as she saw Melaria approach the rock on which she sat. With a sweep of her cape, and a flourish of the hand, Destiny bowed to her, and said... " I'm Destiny Ravenhart, of the Lady Washington, and I hope I'm here on time Milady. The Captain was somewhat vauge on what to wear, except that it was our best. I hope I'm not intruding, as he did throw the offer open to the entire crew. I'm currently ship's galley master. cheese_whine I'm looking forward to a fine meal, one that I've not had to prepare. "
Destiny carefully sat back down on the rock next to Melaria, sitting so as not to wrinkle her cape or ding her highly polished swords onto the rock beneath her. She slapped at a mosquito on her arm, but missed. As the insect flew away, the silence dragged on. Turning to her once again, Destiny tried to engage her in conversation. " So, how did you meet the Captain? From what I overheard, it seems like you two know each other fairly well. How did you come to be here?

((Back at the ship with all the loyal scallywags... lol heart ))
*Ares and her crew sweat out the work of taking the existing guns off the ship, in preparation for the new and improved ones! Once all the gun were off the ship, Ares turned to her crew* Alright, men....let's fill 'er up! *they joyfully scuttle to the naval port, where they had gathered all sorts of little knicknacks along with their new guns. Ares was appreciative that her crew had as much interest in random weapons as she did.*

*Being stuck in a cell (In the town..This is continued from the last post) for her own kleptomania, Aeoess began to think of ways to escape, so she could go to the ball with or without the crew. (She knew she would find it either way) She noticed some powders she had contained in her pockets (..Yeah..She decided to bring more than her dagger..This is the paranoid Aeoess, go figure..).*
"Hmm...If I mix this with some liquid I will be an acid strong enough to melt away some types of metal.."
*Aeoess attempts to escape in the quietest way possible, without attracting unwanted attention to herself. She spits in the key hole of the lock and starts pouring some of the powder inside of it. The gears of the lock begin to melt and the lock springs free. Aeoess escapes the jail that she was being held in and ran for the main road.*
*Aeoess spots a lady sitting on a rock (Lady Melaria) and attempts to speak with her..While avoiding her..Own social akwardness (That usually involves paranoia and kleptmania..)*
"Hello, are you the person that is having the get together..thing..For the crew?"
*Aeoess was a little nervous, she had never been invited to anything before and was hoping to make a decent impression*

*She turned her head as she walked past The Doctor. Still on the Captain's arm she tried to walk forward as she looked behind her towards Doctor Baxter. Blushing slightly and dropping her eyes to the ground, she nodded to him*
"Reginald..." she said, nearly whispering her acknowledgement before raising her eyes again.
*She looked at his face for only a brief moment before turning back to look at where she was walking. As she went back to traveling down the path with the Captain, she touched her face with the back of her gloved hand to try and rub away a little of her flushed cheeks.*

((Ignore my new avie and any changes it goes through, it does not represent how I look in the roleplay.))
Syn remained at the back of the crowd around Melaria, sitting at a rock right next to them, her eyes twinkling good naturedly as she watched them try to get the attention of the lovely lady. Being the observant scruffy gel she was, Jaden's blush and whisper to the Doctor made her stifle a crow of amusement, the young pirate-to-be not at all unused to the flirtations and infatuations of others and actually finding them rather funny. At one time she had attempted to join in, perhaps pick up a suitor or two, but her twisted mind and ragamuffin appearance turned off any and all men she had encountered as of yet. The small woman pulled her legs up to her chest, adjusting the eyepatch absentmindedly as she peered through the people, taking in their individual expressions and mannerisms.
Tuslo rubbed her cheek with his beak, making a soft coo sound completely foreign for a parrot, as if to assure Syn that he would be all the company that she would ever need.

She smiled at Destiny and asked to sit. As Destiny moved over to allot some room, she sat down next to the ships cook.
"I hope tonights meal is to your liking Miss Destiny, since you cook everyday I'm glad I can give you a break." Smiling she saw the captain approach out of the corner of her eye. Destiny asked her a question, but the captain had come over to the rock and took her arm in his. Smiling appoligetically at Destiny she promised the story once they were back at the Mans and dinner was surved.
Leading the captain and crew through the jungle, she was glad it was no later since it would make this journy impossible. The jugle was so thick on both sides it blocked out the setting sun, making the path gloomy and dark. Bugs darted across the path and around her head, but she ignored them, making pleasant talk with the captain and a few of the crew members who were close behind. As the jungle opened up and the lawn came up to meet their feet, the breath caught in her throat. She could see the portch were the dinner party would be held. Little twinkle lights had been placed around the table with the arranged flowers decorating the rest.
After a ways up the lawn the smell of rich food hit her. She looked over at the captain and could see the smell had reached him too. Turning back to the crew she nodded and told them it would not be much further. Ushering them into the courtyard and up a side stair out onto the balcony.
"Please, as my guests make your selves at home. Whatever you desire it is my pleasure to surve you."
With that she seated the captain at the head of the table and herself to his right. As the rest of the crew sat themselves a few of her maids brought out bottles of spiced cider and summer wines. Looking around the table at a few familiar faces and some new ones she smiled.

*Taking a seat in an elegant, high backed wooden oak chair, he gazed about Melaria's courtyard. A laberynth of hedges, a large urn decorating the corners of the maze, flowers sprouting from all places. It was absolutley beautiful. Scouting the mass of crewman and Melaria's servants, he searched for her and found her leaning against a marble pillar.*
"Quite the grand estate my dear. May I enquire to as how you came about it? You've been away from sea for three years now, but I doubt that that is long enough to establish yourself in the world of commerce. Pray, tell me how you took all this upon yourself. Or shall that be saved for the dinner table, my dearest Midnight?"
*Removing his sowrd from his side, he placed it on his lap and folded his arms, snuggly tucking it under them.*
