((Seeing as you haven't yet made it to the captain's quarters...))
Dr. Morgan walked through the town to the Lady Washington. He made his way aboard, and spotted the captain. He wandered over to Kurisutofa and spoke, hoping he wasn't interrupting anything- he didn't have time for politeness now.
"Evenin' sir. I'd like tae thank ye fer yer 'ospital'ty while I were 'board. T'means a grea' deal tae me, 't really daes... bu' I mus' be leavin' nae. Wit' luck on our side, I'll be seein' ye again once we both be dock'd once more in Provoka. Till 'en, may yer sails stay full 'n yer powder dry."
Without waiting for a response, he bows to the captain and departs the ship. He moves down the dock to where the Rescue's boat has tied up, and rows out to his ship. As soon as he steps aboard, the crew hauls in the anchor, unfurls the sails, and heads out to sea.
The wounded men they have aided and delivered back to their ship wave from the dock. It will be the last time they see the red sails and black flag of the Rescue for quite some time. Dr. Morgan, standing on the quarterdeck, orders the gun crew to load the port cannons with blanks, and he and the bosun each man a swivel gun. At the oder to fire, the Rescue delivers it's meager full broadside of four guns as a final tribute.
"Fare thee well, Kurisutofa. May she be a kind Lady tae ye, an' may ye nae be in needs o' Rescue fer some time"
With a final glance to the swiftly dwindling form of the Lady Washington and the ruined city of Toulon, Dr. Morgan heads below to his cabin.

*She nodded earnestly towards the Captain. The hat would help with what items she had procured offship. Jaden took the Captain's hand and finished climbing to the Quarterstep.*
"I believe... I may have some items that would be appropriate dress, Captain... I found them whilest I was in the city with the good Doctor... The hat, however, may work with what I have in a bag I tossed below in the bunks..." She looked up at him, still smiling as she pushed her auburn curls away from her face.
"If you'd allow me to grab that bag, I shouldn't be long.... I am not one of the prissy missies that are common of upper class society..." She closed her eyes a moment to feel the breeze coming off the bay before speaking once more to the Captain. The crisp air encircled her and she smiled more to herself than towards anyone else in that brief moment. "My father was a pirate, Captain. I know deep down that I am more like him than my snobbish mother by which I was raised. So I know I shall not have a Captain wait for a new crewmember such as I... I'll be quick about it." She nodded once again to the Captain.
"... And the bunk cabin, Captain... shall be much more than adequate." she dropped her head a little and then looked back up at him as he spoke once more. Nodding again in agreement, she spoke again.
"Aye Captain... The Doctor.... Doctor... Baxter.... he should not be left behind in the least..." Her face flushed a tiny bit but she recovered somewhat gracefully from her slight embarassment. Not sure that she had gotten the Doctor's name correct, she didn't wish to call him by the wrong name.
<< continued in Jaden's Bunk, then Kurisu's Bunk & Living Quarters, after Captain's reply
yes, that's right, I have my bunk ready wink >>

Emerging from below in a red silk shirt, Dark Gray Vest, black slacks, and boots, the doctor walked across the deck, down the gangplank and into the yard. He would wait at the designated area until the group was assembled.
He kept fidgeting around in his clothes, grabbing at them uncomfortably. It had been a long time since he had to dress like this, and he was not used to it. He felt rather overdressed, but he would survive.

*Standing in awe as Doctor Morgan came and went...*
"Right, well then... shall we go below? Go ahead and grab your things from your bunk. It'll give me time to clean up my cabin."
*Taking her hand, he lead her down through the hatch and 'tween decks.*

As Destiny walked along the road and patiently waited for the rest to arrive, she heard a voice call out her name. Quote: Oi, Destiny! 'twas Fate that brought ye here Turning around, she saw Syn sitting on the steps, her parrot perched on Syn's shoulder, waiting for everyone else it seemed. Destiny chuckled under her breath at the play on her name. It had been some time since someone had done that. " Oh, good evening to you Syn. It seems i'twas Fate that brought me where I am, or so my poor mother often remarked. Twas fate that moves us all, even though we don't always know our Destiny." smile Destiny sat down on the steps next to Syn, and tried to start up a conversation. "Sorry about back in the kitchen. I tend to get distracted trying to cook for a shipful. I'm not that rude, really." Destiny paused for a moment, and tried to look repentant. " So, what brings you out this way? I mean, where do you hail from? What happened that you chose the life of a pirate? What were you before?"

"Seems yer dressed up and comin', aren't ye now? I'll wager I'm goin' to be the only one looking like a bilge rat." Dodging the last questions for the moment, she waved her hand in dismissal of the apology. "Fear thee not, fine lady, I've done worse in my days." She spoke in an odd manner, as if borrowing lines from a book but getting them wrong somehow. The parrot, on the other hand, was staring at Destiny with a fixed expression, its beady black eyes boring into the woman.
The girl swung one leg up and held out a hand in a flourishing gesture toward the town. "Out this way? I've lived here all my life, Miss Lady of Fortune-" still using odd wordplays for Destiny's name, similiar to her favorite 'Malaria' one. "The bank employed this scruffy gel a while ago, and your blasted ship blew a hole in its side. Wood chips everywhere, like the Fourth of July. Took out my eye and joggled my brain a little." Here she paused, and the same strange occurance that Jaden had witnessed - a change that lasted briefly without even knowing what had been different about her - flashed over her. Then she continued, but the story sounded like she had omitted a section, "And then I'm wanderin' the shores looking for a lovely lady ship to take me in."

*On deck, an odd floating orb appears above the ships bell and floats in the direction of the foremast. Suddenly a hand pops out of the portal, its arm stretching back into oblivion. As if to say 'Eeny-Meany-Mieny-Mo', the hand's fingers play over the belaying pins, pick one out of its place. The hand then pulls the belaying pin back threw the hole. With a pop and a fizzle, the portal disappears.
eek
Myere, the germanic hemlsman looks about the ship.
"NU VOTTY ZAW DAHT! OH! CUEM AHN! YEU'VE GAHT TOO BEH JSHOK-ING MEH!"
*Looking desperatley about the deck, Myere spots the Doctor. Running over to him, the huge german battle tank grabs Doctor Baxter by the shoulders, shakes him and looks deep into him.*
"YOO WVERE OON DEACK! YOO ZAW EET TOO, YEAH? VHAT VAS EET? DAHT VINK & VURPLE CLOUDE TING?"

Once she looked back behind her, there was no trace of it. Even though she was compelled to go check it out, and see what exactly happend, she had almost no time to waste..She had to continue onward to the main road so she could be at the dinner party on time WITH the crew.*

Destiny didn't know what to say, whether to mention that brief odd occurence to Syn or not... and that bird.. it was almost as if it were staring into her very soul...Destiny menally shook herself, and began to think. After a few moments of pondering, she said..
" Syn, I don't mean to pry, but what was that brief ripple? It seemed like you completly underwent something strange, and then continued with the conversation like nothing had happened. And, another question.. What is up with the bird? He seems very perceptive-almost as if he could read my thoughts..."
Destiny paused, not wanting to offend Syn with anything that she might say.

Syn's gray eye twinkled with merriment... and something else. She flipped her shaggy hair out of her eyes and patted Destiny on the shoulder in a far too casual manner for the questions put forth. She gave Tuslo one look, but a hidden command in her eye. The bird finally turned its head away from the woman, nestling its head in Syn's hair.
"Well, dear lady...." She seemed almost to stiffen, as if wondering what she should reveal just then. She relaxed and gave a reassuring laugh. "... All in good time. Ye'll know in good time."
She quickly, deftly, changed the subject from her to Destiny, saying in a smooth tone, "And what about ye? How did ye find yer way onto that ship as a cook o' sorts? Might it have been meant to be?"
