"Oh my..." Jacob muttered at Alan's display. Jacob's head appeared as well and nodded, "Alright, let's do it." he said, hiding his head once more.

((Does that mean the non-warlocks died? The vamps and werebeasts?))
Joe stopped at the top level, looking at the woman. "Who...or what...are you?"

"Or what?" she repeated. There was an odd, familiar quality to her voice that Joe couldn't quite place. "Should I be offended?"
((The ones that weren't guarded by warlocks, unless they dodged or whatever. Or if they survived their burns, or if a vampire was strong enough to have fire-resistance (unlikely in this area), or if a vampire cannibalized his allies to survive.))

"Of course not," Joe answered laughingly. "I just want to know who you are!" Where had he heard that kind of tone before? It was so familiar...

"You can call me Jessica," the woman replied. The accompanying voice - a sinister masculine one - became much more pronounced. "Or, you could call me Thuriel."

The door before Jacob swung open.
"Who's there?" a voice on the other side shouted.

"What the...?" Joe landed on the balcony about 20 feet away from her, keeping his eyes on her. "What the hell is that? If I'm not mistaken, Thuriel sounds like the name of either a fallen angel, or a demon. Just what are you?" Joe's eyes were beginning to turn white.

Jacob glided quietly through the door, not replying to the voice until he knew for sure whether or not it was hostile or not.

"Well, the -el at the end would tip you off to that," Thuriel's voice replied. "Michael? Siluriel? Tretriel? Raphael?" Jessica laughed. "Thuriel is a demon-major."

Joe nodded. "Yeah, that's the thing that mainly tipped me off. I'm glad to know that my deductive reasoning isn't - " In the middle of the word, he was suddenly off to her side, the Saber flashing as it sliced silently at her throat.

((That makes it a bit better. At least now you don't have to have the control to stop and turn around after moving at that rate.))
As soon as Joe had moved, Jessica/Thuriel had dodged to the opposite side. Joe attempted to curve around but smashed into the wall.
"We are of The Unity. We are the first of a new generation!" both voices declared in unison.

"Oh God, have I ever told you how much I hate people that speak with 'we?'" Joe exploded out of the dust of his crash, a huge web of fire spraying out of his hand as he attempted to pin her.
