Athryn glanced out the window of the classroom. It was foggy as usual, she wanted desperately to go outside, but she was stuck. "Do the Henge no jutsu first, THEN u can go out!" said her sensei. Athryn has been trying to do the jutsu for the past 3 hours. She can always make the smoke appear but after that it's back to the start. It was really stupid that that she always scores perfect on the paper tests but can't do the transformation technique. Her sensei sighed and opened a bowl of Ramen, the 3rd bowl so far. So once again she clasped her hands together and concentrated. "Transform!"

A small explosion filled the room, Mitsuko's instructor was thrown across and hit the wall. As the cloud settled, there was Athryn, swearing. "You Fool!!!" screamed her sensei. "You released so much chakra but you still didn't complete it?" Athryn bit her lip until she tasted blood. She hated herself for being so incompetent on this. Knowing she needed more chakra, she headed for a bowl of Ramen. "Oh no you don't," said her sensei. "my Ramen is off limits." Cursing her situation, Athryn resumed trying the Henge.

The sensei was at his wit's end. It was 8 at night end Athryn was still here. "alright! You can go now!" said Athryn's sensei, half crying. Athryn was almost out the door when she stopped. "No, I can't go until I master this technique! How else can I go on to be a great shinobi?" said Athryn. The sensei groaned and opened another bowl of Ramen. Athryn focused and made the correct seal. This time she concentrated her chakra very slowly, making sure she had absolute control. "Transform!"
As the smoke cleared, Athryn's sensei was looking at a mirror image of himself. The image then took a bowl of Ramen and-"Hey! That's my Ramen!" shouted the Sensei, quickly snatching the bowl out of Mitsuko's hands. "alright, you finally learned it. But that does not mean you can have my Ramen!" Athryn sighed and went home.

User ImageHaving been enjoying his nap at first until the teacher left, he was quite content to just stay where he was and enjoy the time to his thoughts. That is, until the explosion of noise and chatter flooded the class room and woke him up with a displeased grumble. Slowly opening one eye only to glance around the room he saw what you would pretty much expect to see. Some girls chatting and giggling over in a corner, a bookworm pouring over a book, some guys plotting a prank on the teacher, a lazy guy trying to take a nap...oh wait, that's him. There was also a few pencils embedded in the ceiling, a different sight from normal though still more or less standard as far as school was concerned. Putting a hand over his mouth as he yawned, he stopped leaning back and sat normal, hos chair coming with him with a gently thud as he opened both eyes up, rubbing them with his hand a little. As he stretched his neck, he heard a young woman speak up and ask if anyone wanted to do something other than just sit around this hell hole of boring. He also noticed a small pet wolf besides the young girl. Ironically they were his favorite animal and coupled with the very interesting offer, he simply shrugged his shoulders and stood up. "Why not....could be fun..." He muttered to himself and put his hands into his pockets before heading down to the front of the room to greet the girl. "Well, you've got my attention at least. What did you have in mind?" He asked her before realizing they'd not properly been introduced. "Oh sorry, I'm Starrk by the way." He said, pulling a hand free from his pants pocket and holding it out to offer a hand shake.

~Shikuma Kitsuna~

~Points thus far: 3302~

She hadn't honestly expected many people to join her, if any at all. But when one of the kids got up and came to join her, a small crooked grin appeared on her face and the fluffy white fox tail behind her gave a quick approving flick. Even if most of her Clan hid their strange animal tails and ears, she only did it half the time. Not really caring who saw or not.
"Sweet, looks like we've got at least one adventurous person here." She said taking his hand and shaking it before introducing herself. "My name's Shikuma, but you can call me Shiro if you'd like. Most do." The girl says with a light laugh before retrieving her hand and turning back to the classroom and calling out one last time.
"Eri you're not getting away with not coming! Hurry up and get down here, I'm not letting you turn out like the other mindless people here!" She says crossing her arms stubbornly, leaning against the doorway to the classroom with Ooka sitting loyally at her side.

~Eri Shugotenshi~

~Points thus far: 2137~
He'd been boredly sitting at his desk while doodling a picture, completely blocking out the usual noise of the classroom. He'd heard Shiro's invitation but he didn't bother getting up at first, and just continued his drawing. Catching a glimpse of one of the other students join her, he gave a light sigh. Maybe going out for a bit wasn't such a bad idea, but even so. Breaks were hardly unnecessary, he just wanted to get out of the Academy for good and get back to his village.
When Shiro aimed a comment directly at him, however, he had a feeling he wasn't going to easily argue his way out of not coming. Glancing up at the Kitsuna Clan member he just sighed, partially amused by her presistance. "Alright alright, you got me." He called down to her, rising from his seat. He took his time strolling towards Shiro and the other kid she was with, Starrk was his name, or that's what Eri had picked up from listening to the classroom. When he reached them, he decided to double check. "Starrk right? I'm Eri."

(Haha I don't mind at all C: )

User ImageHe would shake her hand and glance around, noticing the tail that flicked behind her. He blinked a few times curiously as he noticed the ears as well. He hadn't really seen them until he got close, but now seeing them clearly threw him for a loop. That wasn't exactly normal around here, right? She returned the introduction and gave him her own name as well as her preferred nickname. She then laughed a little before she called out and started yelling at another student that she wanted to come along, presumably a friend or someone she at least knew. The kid looked up with a sigh, seemingly annoyed as he joined them both at the door and offered his own name to Starrk. "Yea, nice to meet you." He would say before turning to Shiro and her rather cute little wolf pup. "Well then, you've got the two of us and the little one." He said, looking down at the wolf. "So what exactly did you have in mind for us?" He asked, curious as to what exactly she was thinking of doing other than just skipping out on class.

Shiru Burakkurozu

Rank: Academy student . Chakra: 300 . Skill points/ Words: 703

Shiru sat with his legs crossed, looking up the large tree in which he was leaning against, his mind relaxed and aware. As his mind slowly started to drift, he remembered the reason he had come outside. He had wanted some alone time, so that he could train in the silence of nature. It was very relaxing and a great place to practice. Shiru focused his mind on that task at hand; he placed his hands on his lab, with the palms facing towards the sky and began. He started all of his training sessions by first meditating; this was to allow him to visualize himself completing his training, a trick that he found that helped.

He slowly went deep inside his mind, and pictured the end result. Shiru focused on the jutsus in question and it started to become clear in his mind’s eye. This continued for a while, and might have lasted for an hour if not for a raven squawking in the tree. The sound instantly bought back his sense and rooted his mind back into reality. “Damn it is there no place for me to train in silence around here” Shiru stood up slowly, as not to fall from his sleeping limbs. He had enough with mediation today, and his patient was wearing thin for the academy.

Shiru knew without the basics under his belt he would never become a Kage, but still it ticked him off, knowing that he had a long ways to go. His determination was rising once again, and could feel his chakra pumping loudly within his body, ready to train. Shiru began by throwing punches at the tall tree which he had just been leaning on, no more than a minute ago. After throwing several straight up punches, he started adding kicks. This slowly started to wear down the tree, leaving several areas without bark.

His body was fully awake again and wanting more. Shiru made up in his mind that he was going to cut the old tree down. This however would be a lot harder without any tools. He began by making steady chops at a single point on the tree. He could feel his hands starting to hurt, but he grinded his teeth, pushing the pain down with sheer will. He was not going to stop until he had completed the task. Even with his ego pushing his limits, the end result had been one anybody could have guessed. His body had quitted on him, thus leaving him lying in the grass panting for oxygen. He tilted his head towards the tree to check on the progress, and was a bit pleased. He had chopped his way through almost half of it, and without using any chakra. He then turned back to the sky, and his mind started to wander, filling with memories of days gone by. Shiru was content with his training for right now, and happy. This blissful rest was short lived as he heard the raven squawking once again. “Well it was a nice rest while it lasted, but I’ve still got a job to do”, he lifted his body off the ground and stared back at the tree again. He was rested and ready for round two. But before he made the first attack against the tree, his mind snapped back to the original reason for his being here, to learn the basic jutsus he needed to advance his training.

“Ok, I think I will start with the tree climbing technique”, he walked around the tree to the undamaged side and started to move trace amounts of chakra to his feet. He then gently pressed his left foot against the battered tree and started to climb. He moved slowly at first and once he reached the top, he jumped down. He landed with perfect grace, and did it again, but this time a bit faster. After such a short time he was moving at normal speed up the tree. “Yes, I did it” he cheered to himself. That however was a mistake, as he lost focus on the technique and plummeted down to the hard ground below. He laid there happy with the results of his training.

~Shikuma Kitsuna~

~Points thus far: 3486~

Shikuma studies the two boys briefly before letting out a small chuckle and answering Starrk's question. "Well actually..." She says placing a hand on the door, pushing it open to reveal the hallways. "I don't have anything in particular in mind, but let's see what's going on outside shall we? I mean we may find something cool to do. But even if we don't we can still train outside and do what we want instead of taking our time transforming into our teachers and writing out equations." The Kitsuna girl explains briefly as she steps out of the doorway, the white wolf following behind her, his scroll bouncing silently around his neck.

"Oh yes, and the little one," She says quoting Starrk when he'd referred to her compaion. "Is named Ooka." Hearing his name, the wolf lets out a loud bark, before briefly rubbing up against Eri and Starrk in a friendly manor. Then with that, Shiro turns around to lead the way down the hall, her wooden sandals leaving a hallow thud against the planks beneath her feet, tail swaying with each stride.

The next day, it was sunny out side and Athryn went to class early to get a head start on the new assignment. She found her sensei standing by a large Oak tree with ALOT of scratches on it. "Shuji-sensei!" she called out. Her sensei recognized her voice and tried immediately to hide, but it was too late. Groaning inwardly, Shuji started lecturing:"one of the greatest skills of a ninja is to have good chakra control." Checking to see if Athryn was listening, he continued:"Chakra control can help you scale impossible terrains, regenerate cells, increase your strength, and even extract poison.". "Today's exercise will be walking up trees." Athryn shook her head stupidly, walking up trees? WALKING up trees? Sensing that he was being ridiculed, Shuji made a hand seal and his feet was encircled with a blue aura. He then proceeded to march calmly up the tree trunk. He kept walking until he reached the halfway point. Shuji-sensei then jumped down, looking extremely smug. "that's it?" said Athryn. "What do ya mean thats it?" shouted Shuji. "It was an extraordinary display of chakra control, you couldn't even do a Henge!". Stun by the insult Athryn shouldered her katana and made the seal. Her feet started glowing blue as she charged at the tree trunk. A large crack ensued and the birds that were nesting in the tree immediately flew off. Athryn then found her foot buried in the trunk of the tree. "You idiot!" screamed her sensei for the 5th time in 2 days. "look what you did to my tree!" Athryn was very confused now. What was wrong? She did concentrate her chakra and her feet did glow blue, why is it like this every time? A tear of frustration fell from her eyes and splashed on the grass. Athryn's sensei suddenly felt a pang of remorse. He was supposed to be a teacher, if his students do badly it was his fault. "That was impressive strength Athryn, but you need to focus on climbing the tree." Mitsuko was not convinced. Why couldn't she do it right? For the rest of the day, Athryn watched with despair as her classmates advanced higher and higher up the tree. Soon the new kunai scratches were almost higher than the old ones. Athryn pondered her dream about being a great shinobi, joining the ANBU. But it was all so far away. If she doesn't graduate from the academy, how would she even become a ninja? Her peers called her the ANBU wanna-be, and she had the katana to prove it, but now what will they call her? Shuji-sensei watched Athryn sadly. She was so confident before and never gave up, but now she looked suicidal. He was never confident in her abilities, but he knew she would always when with persistence. That was how she took away most of his Ramen. "Athryn!" he called out, "it's your turn again." Athryn just stared at the tree with mournful eyes. "Don't worry! you can do it!" said Shuji-sensei, giving her a smile and a thumbs up. Athryn was shocked, if Sensei believed in her, what other encouragement does she need? After class that day, Shuji-sensei was shaving off the pieces of gum under the desks when there was a knock on the door. Thinking it was Athryn again, he opened it to find a courier ninja with a note for him. His relief was shattered when he read the note:

Hey, Sensei. Meet me at the tree, I need help with the tree climbing.

Athryn

With a sigh, Shuji-Sensei grabbed his bag and packed up 4 bowls of Ramen and headed out the door.

"So basically, you need to connect your chakra to the surface of the tree, with each step, you are connecting, releasing, connecting, releasing and so on."

Athryn shouldered her katana and concentrated her chakra. This time, she carefully made contact with the tree and followed her sensei's exact instructions. Connect, release, connect, release. Step by step she went until she was 3/4 of the way to the top. Suddenly, the bark gave away under her weight and she was falling. Suppressing a scream, she concentrated her chakra and grabbed on again. Suddenly, she got an idea. Remembering the tremendous strength she gained when she concentrated her chakra in a different way, she used the same method and pushed off. Combined with her boosted strength and grip, she shot up the tree and scratched a branch on the top of the trunk with her katana.

Doran could hardly believe where he was as he woke up. He sat up from his bed and turned off his alarm. He looked out his window at the sun shining on the academy training yard. The smith from Hidden Katana had waited his entire life to be here to learn to become a shinobi. As excited as he was, Doran was also very nervous. As he threw off the covers and put his feet onto the cold ground, he imagined what the classroom would be like and how almost everyone there would be much younger than himself. Doran wished his parents had not resisted his wishes to become a ninja for so long, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it now except head off to class and do his best.

Doran stood up from his bed and began to put his clothes and his armor on. He looked in his mini fridge before deciding that he was too nervous to eat anything before class and shut the door. The smith splashed some cold water on his face to fully wake himself up before slipping his mask over his head. He then secured his sheathe for his giant sword. As Doran grabbed the massive blade from against the wall, he could almost see the day where he would go back to Hidden Katana and put an emitter in his heavy sword and make it a true weapon worthy of a great shinobi. When the daydream had run its course Doran sheathed the massive sword and left the dorm room.

The Armorer, as the other students had started calling him for his self made Stormsteel armor, made his way out of the dorm hall and towards the classroom building, every step closer making him feel a step closer to becoming a shinobi. Within a few minutes Doran was sitting in the shinobi classroom, surrounded by what seemed like children to him. Between his six-foot-one figure, massive sword, and full armor, Doran felt like a giant that fell off the bean stalk. He began suddenly fearing that his teacher would treat him as such.

Just as the thought concluded in his head, Doran snapped to sitting up straight as the teacher walked in and took his place standing behind his desk. After a quick glance across the room, and a brief pause when his eyes landed on Doran, the instructor began to speak. “Good morning class. Welcome to your first day at the Shinobi academy. My name is Haito Uruza, but you will all refer to me as Sensei Uruza. Today’s lesson will be one of the most difficult you will face at the academy in your time here. To be a great ninja, one must have patience. You must learn to be patient as you wait and study your objective, collecting every possible detail of information you can before acting.” At this point Sensei Uruza stepped out from behind his desk and began to pace across the front of the classroom. “Under each of your desks is a textbook that I wrote, detailing the theory and execution of every training method you will be using, and every technique you will be learning. Before you begin your practical training, you must read the entire book and then be able to answer any questions I may have for you about the material. Then you will have my permission to go practice.”

The entire class sighed at once, including Doran. Everyone begrudgingly began to pull the heavy paper volume out from under their desk, so Doran followed suit. He certainly did not expect to be sitting around and reading on his first day, but if that’s what it took to become a great shinobi then he would do it whole heartedly until he was finished. He opened the book and began to read. The textbook first described what it took to graduate. Apparently it only took learning one technique of the five listed in it in order to get your headband and leave. Something about that idea just did not sit well with Doran though. As he read through all five of the academy level techniques, he found them all to be interesting. He could immediately imagine a dozen scenarios where each one could save his life, or more importantly someone else’s life.

Doran burned his way through page after page. He had never worked so hard at reading in his life. Of course he never needed to, being the son of a blacksmith. But now that he had something on the line, the armorer found himself more motivated than ever to do the best he could at something as simple and arduous as reading a textbook. Doran was not sure how much time had passed at any given point. He never looked at the clock because it would waste precious seconds of training time and would probably just make it seem like time was wasting way.

As he finished the last page of the book, Doran found himself elated to have read the entire manual. He was so excited he nearly slammed the volume shut and caused a rather large booming sound which attracted the attention of everyone in the class. It appeared that he was the first one to have finished the whole book. He slowly rose from his seat and picked the book up off the desk. As he descended the risers of the classroom and approached the teacher’s desk, where Sensei Uzura sat waiting, the students all turned back to reading their books. But the sensei’s eyes were trained determinedly on Doran.

The Armorer walked up to the sensei and placed the textbook on his desk. He then placed his hands behind his back and waited for Uruza to question him on the material as he said he would. Doran was confident that he could answer any question the sensei could throw at him as long as it was answered in the book. As the fear of a possible trick question struck his mind, the sensei spoke. “You look like you go the jist of it. There’s still plenty of daylight left, so I better see you training your armored hind quarters off until the sun goes down. You are dismissed from class Stormsteel.”

Doran was stunned for a moment. The sensei could not have possibly said what he just did. The Armorer was afraid this was some kind of trick. He knew he couldn’t just stand here like a fool out of surprise, but he did not want to ask the sensei for clarification out of fear of a change of heart from his teacher. So after a brief pause to collect himself Doran walked out the door, closing it quietly behind him. His head was so full of information and instruction that he did not know where to start. As he walked down the hallway of the school building towards the door he came to the conclusion that he might as well just go in the order that the textbook instructed him in. The first up for that would be the Transformation Jutsu. Doran figured he should have people to work off of if he wished to be able to imitate another person, but he also needed a place away from the classrooms so he did not disturb any of the instructors and get asked why he was not in class.

Doran made his way outside and from the door of the classroom building he could hear the dull thud of metal hitting wood coming from the training yard. He realized that if there were people in the training yard, then that would be the ideal place to practice his transformation jutsu. The Armorer approached the open training yard where he found a handful of advanced students throwing kunai and shuriken at wooden targets, and slashing at hay training dummies with various blades. Doran unslung his heavy sword from his back and placed it against a wooden bench before cracking his knuckles and swinging his arms to get his blood flowing. He focused his mind and mentally reviewed the information he had memorized in the textbook just minutes

First he needed his target, so Doran looked over the assortment of shinobi students in the training yard and picked the simplest looking one to start. He was a young boy with flat black hair, big brown eyes, and wore a simple brown t shirt and brown shorts. The only things to really note were the placement of his kunai holster and his shuriken bag. With all of these factors in mind Doran placed his hands together and wove the hand seals necessary for the transformation jutsu. As he channeled his chakra he focused on the person he needed to become. Finally as the jutsu was ready to take action Doran yelled “Henge no jutsu!” In a burst of smoke, The Armorer looked down to see that his appearance had changed quite distinctly. Seeing as how he didn’t have a mirror on him, Doran went back to his large sword and drew it from its sheath. It was moments like this that he felt that his habit of meticulously sharpening and polishing his sword every day was completely worth it. The very wide blade showed Doran a very clear reflection of the person he had just transformed into. To his amazement, he found that he had managed to mimic the boy’s appearance down to the last freckle. The Armorer was so pleased with himself that he even shifted back to his original form and proceeded to imitate the other students in the training yard with the transformation jutsu before deciding it was time to move on to the training of his next technique.

The next technique listed in the manual that Doran was forced to read earlier was the Clone Jutsu. There was really no point in reading in moving to a new location since the training yard was perfectly suitable for creating clones. The Armorer sheathed his sword and placed it back against the wood bench he had it on before. Once again he cleared his mind and mentally reviewed the instructions given to him from Sensei Uruza’s textbook. Doran was rather concerned about how this jutsu would turn out for him. He had never had even a slight interest in genjutsu. It just never seemed like his style. Yet he found himself wanting to work past this mental block so that he might over achieve during his time at the shinobi academy he had waited so long to attend. With his mind clear and his inspiration found, the Armorer readied himself to perform the technique.

Doran knew he would need to start out taking it slow, so he focused on creating one clone directly in front of himself. He formed the hand signs and channeled his chakra to the best of his ability in the way he was instructed. When the Armorer finished casting the jutsu, a burst of smoke released in front of him that slowly dispersed to reveal a very dissatisfying result. The clone that stand before him was shaky and sickly. It did not look fit to even pretend to fight, let alone fool an opponent. Doran sighed as he released the clone. He would not let himself fall to such mediocrity. The Armorer needed to prove to himself and all those snot nosed kids still sitting in the classroom that he deserved to be a shinobi, and that he would be a damn good one. With renewed vigor Doran channeled his chakra and formed the hand seals once again. As the smoke burst appeared and cleared the second time, a perfect replica of Doran appeared standing proud and stalwart. It was only one clone, but it was good enough for Doran.

The Armorer released the jutsu and the clone he had created vanished in another blast of smoke. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he relaxed for a moment. Doran was relieved that he had managed to successfully perform the one genjutsu that the academy bothered to teach. It gave him hope for his future. It was a reminder that he could achieve anything he wanted to through perseverance, even the things he struggled with such as genjutsu. With that hopeful thought in mind, Doran decided he might as well keep up the hard work on his training and get going on the next technique. Just as the thought crossed his mind though, three of the students he had practiced transforming into earlier began to approach him. The Armorer was unsure what they might want, so he slung his sword sheathe over his shoulder just in case he should need to avoid a situation by leaving. When the other students approached, the one standing in the middle of their little line spoke.

“It looks like you’re picking these jutsus up pretty quickly. What’s your name?” The Armorer was a little taken aback, but gave a short response. “I’m Doran.” The other students all gave a little scoff and glanced around at each other before the middle kid spoke again. “Well Doran, it seems to me like you think you’re better than the rest of us. You’re obviously older and you think you’re entitled to become a ninja. Isn’t that right? You think wearing that fancy armor makes you stronger than us?” Of course Doran did not think that way at all and he was quite shocked at this sudden change in attitude towards him. He was unable to respond to the boys’ questions and accusations, so he kept speaking. “Well it looks like I’m right after all. We don’t like you, old fart. We’re gonna show you how real ninjas get things done.”

Without any further warning, the other students all pull out handfuls of kunai knives and shuriken. In that moment, Doran knew he needed to use a jutsu that he had only read about in his textbook. Even with his armor, he knew that the amount of projectiles about to come at him would surely slip between plates in a few spots. As the boys all released their various sharp objects towards him, Doran formed the hand seals and released the chakra he needed to perform the substitution technique. As the kunai and shuriken collided with their target, the boys all looked quite pleased until the armored ninja was covered by a blast of smoke which cleared to reveal the wooden bench that had been right next him just seconds before.

The other students immediately realized that Doran had used the substitution jutsu and began scanning the area for him. The Armorer knew that this technique was normally used to hide and then possibly strike unexpectedly, but he did not want to cause trouble where it was not necessary. So instead Doran was running away from the scene in an attempt to diffuse the situation. When he glanced back though, he saw the other students chasing after him and gaining. The armored shinobi tried to pick up his pace to see if he could still outrun the boys without any tricks. But as he increased speed, the other students sped up to match and continued gaining distance on him. As Doran turned his attention forward again to begin thinking of a solution he was forced to skid to a screeching halt.

In front of Doran stood a massive cliff face that spread as far as he could see in either direction, through the cluster of trees that had come to surround him. For the second time in a few minutes, the Armorer knew exactly what he needed to do. But also for the second time, he had never done it before. Doran barely had time to think before he started running again. His mind flashed back to the textbook from Sensei Uruza’s classroom. The Armorer began focusing chakra into his feet as he finally arrived at the cliff face. He knew it was all or nothing as he placed his feet against the cliff face and began trying to run upwards. To his pleasant surprise, Doran managed to stick to the cliff as he sprinted all the way to the top.

Doran cleared the top cliff ledge and stood vertical again after several seconds of sprinting straight up. He knelt down on one knee as his breathing got heavy. The Armorer had never had to channel so much chakra at once, let alone on a consistent basis for a sustained amount of time. He then peaked over the edge of the cliff to see the other students standing on the lower ground and looking up at him. Doran smiled under his mask to see the dismay on the faces of the younger boys. They apparently had not yet mastered the Tree Climbing Technique. Once he had caught his breath, the Armorer stood up and began to walk away from the edge of the cliff. The area was lightly wooded and he found himself enjoying the walk through nature and listening to animals chirp and skitter. Doran figured that he could take a few moments to enjoy himself after all the difficult training he had accomplished that day.

After just a few minutes of walking, Doran came across a small pond with rather clear water. It was only at this point that he realized it was rather hot and sunny outside. While he was on the track of relaxing, the Armorer did not see the harm in going for gold on the idea. So he unstrapped his sword and stripped off his stormsteel armor piece by piece. When he was out of his armor and clothing, Doran slowly entered the cool water of the pond. He found a convenient flat rock that jutted from the side of the pond to sit on and for the first time all day he relaxed. As he sat in the water, the Armorer closed his eyes and could not help but review in his mind the things he had managed to teach himself earlier throughout the day. As he reviewed each technique in his mind, one by one, he eventually reviewed them all, and realized that he was still missing one.

Try as he might, Doran found he was having difficulty remembering what technique he had yet to train that was in his textbook. He glanced around his surroundings as he thought, enjoying the view while he could, before he inevitably made himself get back to work. As his eyes grazed over the surface of the pond, a single leaf caught the Armorer’s attention. It was floating perfectly still in the center of the small body of water. It was then that his memory was jump started and Doran realized that he had not yet learned the water walking technique. Now that the idea was in his head, he had almost no choice but to work on it immediately. The Armorer would not sit idly by while one technique stood between him and being a fully credited ninja.

Doran stood from the pond and put his feet on dry land. He knew what he needed to do in theory from his reading in the morning. The Armorer placed his hands in the ram hand sign to help better focus his chakra, knowing that this would be much more tricky than the tree climbing technique. He cleared his mind and focused his chakra, channeling as much as he could into his feet like he would for the tree climbing technique. Then, like his reading told him to, Doran focused the stream of chakra to be more steady. When he thought he was ready, he took his first step onto the surface of the water, and then several more after that.

With that, Doran knew his work was done at the academy. It was time to go demonstrate his skill to Sensei Uruza, and then take the boat back home to Hidden Katana.

The soft sound of clicking wood could just barely be heard, a series of light sounds that were nonetheless audible in the still of night. It was late, long past the time when anyone should be awake. The only one moving around wasn't asleep, because they couldn't. They were a puppet, yet so much more. Elfriede kept up her rounds, silent save for the sound of her puppet joints rattling and clacking together. She kept a lonely vigil, should any further problems arrive on their doorstep. 'They' meaning her, Lieselotte, and the third member of their group. For quite some time, that third slot had been filled by the mischievous witch Sakazuki. Now, however, a new face, yet so familiar it hurt!, had taken that spot. This newcomer's role had yet to be fully determined. Even if they were friend or foe wasn't clear. They seemed to be a friend, but they still acted guarded, secretive. There was something more to their presence. But what could it be? Until they found out, she would remain on guard as well. Ready to defend Lieselotte from danger, within or without.

Zenia opened her eyes, crimson orbs focusing on the small form scuttling past her. Elfriede, the puppet. She felt that same flicker of half-remembered familiarity; just like she did every other time she looked at the unfinished puppet. That in itself was simply unusual. She'd never seen it before, but the feeling refused to go away or even be explained. So she dealt with it just like she did all those other times. She quashed the feeling, swiftly and without mercy. She sent it down to that part of her where she buried any weaknesses or misgivings, where she would be forced to confront them at times when she was otherwise at peace. It was only a delaying tactic, but for now, that was good enough. For now, she had more important things to worry about. More important people to worry about. Namely, the small figure huddled up under the blanket a few feet away from her. Lieselotte Achenbach, the Crimson-eyed Criminal. Originally she had been her target, to be eliminated like all the others. But things had grown complicated, and that was no longer an option. What other recourse did she have, though? She'd have to make a decision.

Mei sat on the sandy bank of the river, enjoying the warmth. After the impromptu play session that had masqueraded as a bath, the cold water had left her feeling half-frozen and numb. Once she'd finally stepped out of the water, she had felt the warm sand underfoot and instantly decided she wanted to go no further. Not until she warmed up. Thankfully it was a warm day; otherwise she would be even more likely to catch a chill now than she had been while in the water. Still, simply sitting on the side of the river, naked and dripping wet, was hardly a good idea, so she was obviously just as attention-focused as ever. Which is to say, not very.

A moment later she started and looked up as the sun went out. Was it night already? That couldn't be right! She hadn't had supper yet! And the sun had been shining brightly just a minute ago. But then, how had it gotten dark all of a sudden? The truth which remained hidden from her was utterly obvious to everyone else. Katsu, the wooly Lambchop, had grabbed a towel and tossed it at her, succeeding in it covering her head. And just like a captive songbird, the moment the blanket had been thrown over her, Mei became convinced it was nighttime. She knelt down next to the busty cowgirl, before beginning to dry her off. Of course, this wasn't all she did; it was a prime opportunity to have some fun, after all. So her hands strayed more often than not, and only bothered with the towel from time to time. Mei still would up dry, but not completely. Or rather, not everywhere.

The room was a shambles. Filing cabinets were knocked over, their contents scattered across the floor in wide arcs of paper. The desk had been forcefully pushed against the far wall, to gain access to the hidden door in the floor, inside of which had been a single safe. Too heavy to move, and it had proven resistant to acid and physical force. Whatever was in it was obviously important. And Melona was determined to find out what. She risked blowing her cover every moment she stayed in the room, but she couldn't bring herself to leave yet.

Originally, she had thought to merely flip through the files, put everything back, and be on her way. Then she had discovered the panel on the floor. It had been simple luck that her foot had tapped against it while reading the files. Curiosity drove her to work it open, to shove the desk away to give her better access to it. When she found the safe, she had tried everything she could think of. Frustration caused her to lash out at her surroundings, in the hopes that she would find a key, or the combination, or something. But there had been nothing. Still, she wasn't ready to give up just yet. She had spent months infiltrating everywhere else in the Academy, she couldn’t just leave this last bastion of secrets undiscovered! She'd find a way inside, even if she had to hold the room itself hostage!

Still, that was easier said than done... She wasn't suited to being patient like this. She would have much preferred simply going out and enjoying life, causing some chaos and selling some secrets in the process. She could go anywhere, do anything. Being confined to one location for too long would drive her mad if she couldn't find a way to stay interested. If she couldn’t crack this mystery, she'd have to resort to extreme measures to maintain her focus.

The program was a simple one. Only a few strings of commands. Really, just a single order, relayed through circuits and wires. That order being to activate, to wake up. It maneuvered through the nascent firewalls, past the various sequesters and data dumps. Finally it reached the central processor, where it was enabled and activated. As it did, it was extinguished, the remaining ergs of energy diffused into the continued processes of it's owner's systems. That being nu-13, one of the partially mechanical soldiers created out of the various workshops of Hidden Gears. She was currently in storage, while being shipped en route to her next destination, where she would be deployed in full active statues. Her role was still unclear, she had not received her mission dispatch yet. There were only several skills she had already been prepared with, however, so that narrowed down the field of variables.

She only received her activation signal now that the transport had closed in on its destination. She wasn’t stored in a box like so much cargo, she was standing, ramrod straight, amongst the less mobile cargo. It was considered more efficient for any mobile units to move themselves off of the ship, rather than task the handlers with yet more luggage issues. So she was activated, so that she could then simply walk off the ship when they touched down. She had access to detailed maps, and she knew where the closest friendly base was. She would head there, and then she would receive her orders, and know just where she was going, and what she was tasked to do. Assassinate a key political leader? Possibly. Her skills were built toward military force rather than subterfuge or reconnaissance. So whatever her mission was, she felt confident that there would be combat.

The pear was sweet and delicious, just a little firm yet. Smiling as she bit into the fruit, the odd girl looked to her surroundings. She was in a forested glen, in the midst of a fruit orchard. She had yet to see anyone care for the plants here, but they grew so well that they almost had to have some kind of assistance. Perhaps whoever it was wouldn't mind if she stayed for a time? She preferred to live in the forest, far from humans, far from the crowded cities. Better companions by far were the various animals, who even now watched her without fear. They could tell, she was no human, she was no threat. She was something else. She was also a sight, with her wings. One a brilliant, pristine white, the other an unkempt, unruly black. The wings shuffled from time to time, even without her conscious thought. She could control them most of the time, but occasionally her wings seemed to have minds of their own. For they did.

The blue-haired young woman moved to a fallen log, sitting down easily as she leaned back to look up at the leaf-dappled sky. The tree branches obscured much of the actual sky from her, leaving only scattered splotches of brilliant blue. But she could still feel the warmth of the day, and smell nature all around her. That was all she really needed, she felt at peace. Still, it would be nice to have some company. Not a lot, maybe just one or two people. Somebody to talk to, to find out if the rest of the world was still a scary place. To ask if war was still as much an impending danger as it had been before, when she had first taken her leave of the world at large. To avoid the fighting, she had escaped into nature. She had no desire to return, either, not if war was still waiting for her.

The Void is all. It encompasses everything, yet has no area of its own. It is the absence of space, it is the room between two atoms. It is where ideas go to die, and where dreams are born. It is where energy is created, and where magic dwells. And it is where Etheldreda found herself. She had formed a contract, things had finally begun to turn around. But her latest contractee had vanished, and she didn't know where they had gone. She had tried searching for them, casting out her net to try to find them again. But nothing. That called for more drastic measures. Thus she found herself here. the Void. Where magic was at its strongest, where the very energy that made up the universe could be altered and manipulated. If she cast a scrying spell here, with that much power at her disposal, she was bound to find them, wasn't she?

Alice glared at the group in front of her. They seemed like ordinary thugs, but the aggression she was feeling made them seem anything but. She hadn't been in this town for very long, yet already people seemed to know of her presence. Why that instantly turned to disdain, anger and spite, she had no clue. But neither was she going to put up with it. She was strong, and getting stronger every day. Each time that people like these tried to punish her for being different, she managed to fight them off. And each time she did, she gained that much more experience, that much more strength. eventually, would she be strong enough that nobody would dare try to chase her out of town in the first place? That she would actually be welcomed? She could only hope.

For now, she had a more pressing issue. These three thugs were obviously itching for a fight, they looked like they had been even before noticing her presence. And she was pariah, so she automatically gained the status of target for people like that. They barely even seemed to hesitate before turning to advance on her. Three grown men, set to attack a young girl? Utterly unfair. But she was stronger than they could expect, and she wasn't necessarily alone, either. Her friends weren't alive, though. They were the weapons at her sides, and they had balanced the scales a great many times. She drew them now, a pair of dangerous looking weapons that seemed far too lethal for a child to own, let alone use with any degree of skill. Would the sight of her, with those fearsome weapons, be enough to knock some sense into those thugs? Or would she have to fight, and hurt them, to get the fact to sink in? She knew the answer. She just didn't have to like it. Maybe if she gave them a chance to back off, they would? Even before trying, she knew they wouldn't, though. They were seemingly affronted by her very presence. How they could be so offended by somebody they didn't even know, she couldn’t say. She could certainly say that she was damned tired of it!

The bottle weaved dangerously for several moments, held by only the very slackest grip possible. It was a few inches off of the floor, hanging by it's neck in the hand of the person sitting in the wooden chair. That person was currently asleep, face down on the table. Soft breathing could be heard, and their back rose and fell as they breathed. That was what caused the slight movements that caused the bottle to weave in their grasp. Finally, it slipped free, only to tip over and roll slowly across the floor. Thankfully, it was already empty, so it didn't spill as it rolled. Instead, it just came to a stop with a soft clink against another bottle, revealing that the room was in need of a solid cleaning. Haku had had a rough patch lately, and she couldn’t bring herself to do something so relatively cheerful as cleaning up. At times, she felt like she deserved to live in a dump, like the mess was only natural for her.

At some level, she knew she was depressed and negative, and that spending most of every day drinking didn't help. But she couldn't face the world with a smile anymore, she just couldn't. She knew her voice was horrible, and that knowledge alone had damned her as surely as any deal with the devil. All she had ever wanted to do was sing. But her voice made that a fight beyond reason. She'd tried to find other goals, another dream, but it was no use. She still wanted to sing, hungered for it. That drive was all that kept her going sometimes, but at other times, it plunged her even deeper into the pits of despair. Thus, she drank. Sometimes, when she drank enough, she could almost imagine she sounded normal, that she could sing and people wouldn't flinch. But it never lasted. One day, would her ship come? Would she find a way to make her dream a reality? Or would she remain here, trapped in a dingy apartment that smelled of stale beer and tears?

A single dot of light. It flickered, it grew bright and then dimmed. It flickered, wavered and guttered, but it did not go out. It persevered, it grew brighter. All of this was merely a subconscious train of thought in Honehime's mind. She was mediating, legs folded up underneath her, her hands folded together in her lap. Her eyes were closed, but she still held a decent view of her surroundings. Not physical sight, though, but sensing the life energy of those around her. There weren't many, which suited her just fine. She'd led a simple life of solitude for many years. The times when that hermetic life was interrupted were some of the more stressful that she had been through. She'd survived, even grown strong because of them, but she still preferred solitude. She was an oracle, a seer of the vagaries of the future. Her place was in solitude, to focus on life's greater mysteries. Only by constant focus could she pierce the veil, and see even a glimmer of the future, a glimpse of the unknown. Now, if only she could properly focus! Her mind kept wandering, returning to those exciting and terror-fueled days. How she'd been trained in physical combat, and how that training had likely saved her life.

A pair of red eyes slowly opened, before the slight figure stood up. It was a crisp morning, there on the peak of the mountain. An early fog was boiling away, leaving the air thick with moisture and damp. Yet it wasn't entirely unpleasant, the sun's rays were already warm on their face, and the faint scent of fallen leaves tinged the area. Honehime had found this small shack and quickly claimed it as her own temporary lodging, a place to stay while she recovered from her ordeal. Her ordeal being that of attending the Academy. The lessons, while challenging, had not been the most challenging part of the experience. No, it had been all of the other students. They hadn't been malicious or rude, they had just been there, and in great number. Honehime was a quiet and withdrawn girl, having grown up far away from society and crowds and the hustle and bustle. She simply wasn't prepared to deal with such things for great stretches of time.

The time after the Academy, when she had joined in with that group who had taken up the search for herbs, that had been a more bearable experience. Only a few people, and most of them were more than willing to leave her to her own devices. There was really only one who had apparently taken an interest in her. While still somewhat alarming, she had felt she could handle one person's attentions. How wrong she had been! Those times, those days spent in training, they still left her feeling shaken, vulnerable. Emotional. She still didn't understand the feelings, nor did she know how she felt about her teacher. But they had vanished, and she didn't know if she would ever see them again. Once they were gone, her interest in the search for herbs had quickly decayed, and she had withdrawn. Now she found herself in solitude once more. Yet it wasn't as calming, as peaceful as it used to be. What had happened to her, what had changed?

άγια stands before what looks to be a large building with people of different ages running to and from it. She raises a hand and sweeps her bangs out of her face with her index finger. Instead of removing it afterwards she lets it rest there as she continues to look at the people around her. None of them gave off any indication of relevance to her so she would not interact with any of them. Instead she lowers her arm and walks towards the building and up the steps leading to the front door. Once she eases open the door after turning the handle she steps quickly to the side. Her bright, teal colored eyes trail the frame of a young girl as she forces her way pass άγια and out of the building. The Shugotenshi gave no thoughts regarding that occurrence and just proceeds walking farther into the building. The farther she goes the more empty rooms she finds. After turning a few corners she finds one classroom that seems to have a few people inside. She walks over to the doorway and stands there looking around. There seemed to be a few young girls and older boys in the room but no one wearing anything that showed them as being different from the rest.

She then leans forward more in the doorway and spots a woman standing at the back of the classroom. This woman appeared to be no older than άγια, having thick brown hair pinned in a loose bun at the back of her head. She's wearing a uniform similar to what most instructors wear but it is customized to show her legs and arms. When the female turns to look at άγια she merely continues to stare. "There something you need or are you just going to stand there watching me like some freak?" The Shugotenshi steps farther inside as the woman turns towards her with a bothered expression. She can tell by the way her eyelids are drooping that she might be tired, but she would not risk looking into the woman's eyes as eye contact might provoke her. Despite this thought the woman begins stomping down the stares towards άγια. She needed to defuse the situation as she had no reason or drive to get into an altercation. By the time the woman reaches the final step άγια, has her hands raised to her chest and her fingertips are touching firmly. Her posture has changed as she is now hunched over in less of a leaning fashion. άγια shuts her eyes for a brief moment before opening them.

"Hello. My name is Ágia Docheío. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." The woman pauses but seems to glare at her menacingly. "I apologize for the intrusion and for staring, but I was hoping to find someone to teach me techniques here." άγια watches the female's shoulders relax and she raises herself straight up. Her arms fall at her sides spaced a few centimeters from her body and fairly straight. άγια has her legs spaced apart slightly but they are perfectly aligned.

"I don't have time to force information out of you so next time don't just stand there, say something." The woman rubs the back of her neck with one hand as those around the room stare at άγια. "School day's over so try again tomorrow morning. I might be here or I might be in bed. If you got a problem then go to another class." άγια watches her as she speaks and even well after she has finished. The woman takes this as a sign that the conversation is over and she walks away.

άγια takes the same posture as before when greeting the woman and then replies, "Thank you. I will be in attendance tomorrow morning." She then straightens up and turns around to leave. As she does she can hear a few people mention her name but decides to just leave and not engage them. She had no desire to speak with them.

The following day άγια awakens from her slumber laying delicately in a tree near the building from the other day. She had come to understand that this building was called The Shinobi Academy and ninja of all ages came to gain basic knowledge to become ninja or to become better ninja. She sits on the sturdy branch she had slept on before easing forward. She slips off of the branch and falls to the ground with a small thud. She was about a story up but wasn't foreign to hopping down from great heights. A few people notice her action but she pays them little mind. She simply heads into the building and to the classroom from yesterday. Once inside she notices the woman from before, with her hair straight down today, with her head against the desk at the front of the classroom. She steps gingerly over to the desk and examines the woman with her eyes before noticing people gesturing 'no' to άγια. Instead of defying them, she steps back from the woman and then turns to head toward a vacant seat near the back of the room. Once she finds a seat and sits down the woman raises her head. "Guess it was too much to start class late today? Eager beavers. For that today's lesson is going to be Water Walking."

The woman states that but soon her head slumps back down and to the desk. άγια watches her a moment until noticing the direction her face is this time. It is facing outside to what seems like the forest. At that moment a chill snakes up άγια's spine and she bolts to her feet. A few people turn to look at her before seeming to portray a frightened expression. They soon stand as well and begin filtering out of the room. άγια joins the group and follows them to a pond in the Hidden Leaf forest a good few miles from the school building. She watches people stepping onto or into the water and see's a few balance atop it a while before coming crashing down into the water. She was supposed to walk across the water then? That seemed simple enough. Instead of just going out and onto the water with her clothes on like the rest of the folks in her class, άγια grabs the hem of the collar of her kimono and tugs it gently. The neck widens enough until it begins slipping down her shoulders. A few students stop to watch her before they realize just what she's doing. The cloth is slipped down around her shoulders, revealing a small portion of the top of her breasts, before people begin to yell for her not to.

Instead of heeding their advice this time she continues on and soon her frocks fall down over her knees, her hands open near her shoulders. Some look away while others figure if she's going to show it then they'd watch and look her over. She wasn't much to look at, not to someone that she is not the guardian of anyway. She had small breasts and only a slight curviness to her body along with having minimal backside. But her skin gave off a purity to it, like that of an angel. Those that had been gazing upon her form feel a sensation that causes them to look away and they do. The Shugotenshi motions towards the edge of the water and first wades through the shallows a time before being ready to give a try at walking across the water's surface. She raises one foot and then extends it forward. A ripple forms beneath her foot and soon her next is brought up to stand beside it. She toes across the water's surface, creating ripples in the water that ring out until fading upon reaching the ground around or a far enough distance from the beginning point. Water droplets from where some students splashed beneath the surface seem to levitate around άγια, as if she was using a chakra aura to keep them in suspended animation.

Once she has her fill, she turns back to her starting point and steps out of the water. People begin to look at her again, seeming to have looked away and not looked back until this point, as the Shugotenshi brings her kimono up and over her shoulders. She adjusts the band beneath her breast and around her ribs as people return to either trying to accomplish Water Walking or watching her. Even though a few people spoke in awe of her and even requested help performing Water Walking she gives them no response. She just looks beyond them at a space void of anything and then turns around to head back to the classroom. Once there she takes her seat and waits patiently for the teacher's, with her head facing down and to her desk, next instruction.

"Just gonna sit there all studious, are you?" άγια listens to her instructor speak and waits for her to raise her head but she doesn't. The Shugotenshi doesn't give a response and soon after the instructor raises her head. "You really piss me off, you know that? Don't let me sleep and never respond when you should. Why don't you go to another classroom already?" She is given no response, only the void stare of άγια. She watches her a moment before saying, "Why don't you give Tree Climbing a shot since you managed Water Walking fine enough?" This statement interested άγια. This woman knew that she actually performed the task given though she wasn't in the forest. At least άγια did not see her in the forest. She sensed a presence, reason why she stared at an empty space before near the pond. At this statement she goes to speak but her mouth winds up hanging wide open. She remains that way a moment before shutting her mouth and glancing down. She feels an odd squirming sensation inside of her stomach and touches it with her open hand. That was odd. She stands from her chair and cascades down the steps and out into the hall.

She walks a while longer before coming to an area that gave off no feeling that she wasn't alone and removes her hand from her abdomen. "Johnston..." She waits a few minutes before feeling her stomach settle and cocks her head off to the side slightly. That was definitely strange. Johnston was often still within her, especially when she was interacting with someone. For him to disturb her then and continue to squirm was peculiar. She turns her head and tilts it more, angling her body to one side, and gazes down the hall behind her. The squirming sensation inside of her returns and she seems to narrow her eyes just a touch. So that's why he was reacting that way. They weren't alone. And unlike when she stared at an empty space before, now she felt like she was staring at something new. This time she was staring at something more or less like what she had been before. But why was she feeling this way? What was the connection? Once Johnston falls still again she turns her body around and straightens up. She bends her knees a little and then she's racing down the hall. She angles her body and then swerves around the corner, her blue hair wipping against her face and then flapping towards the back of her head.

The sleeves of her kimono shift behind her but do not flap and remain fix on her shoulders snuggly. Her golden sandals scrape against the ground but do not clatter as she runs. Her arms are slung behind her and her body is bent forward by a few inches. Her eyes remain focused ahead of her before veering off to one side. She runs closer to that side and then turns the nearest corner and then her eyes are fixed ahead again. Before long άγια finds herself back in the classroom and the instructor instantly on her feet. Instead of stopping or trying to, the Shugotenshi rushes forward into the room as the instructor readies to give her a few choice words. When άγια dives down, gliding her fingertips along the ground as her body leans backward, the teacher shuts her mouth. Just when άγια pushes her body off of the floor and to her left, the instructor appears in her path. She follows through, however, and clasps her legs around her teacher. She twists her body until she eventually flips the woman onto her back on the ground with άγια perched atop her. She squeezes her legs tighter together and bends them in to keep from being wide legged in her position and allows her ankles to nearly touch the ground.

Her arms are bent back still--one off to one side with the fingertips still pressed against the laminate covering the wood floors and the other with the knuckles touching said floor--and her upper body is straight. She does not speak and neither does the woman. Did this mean she was in trouble? "Just what are you doing?"

"I'm chasing it. It is yours?" άγια's question comes off more as a statement than a question so the woman snorts. The blue haired girl had no reason to say this to the brunette but she was very interested in what she was being exposed to. She'd effectively chased something back to the classroom only for her to be stopped from interacting with it by the teacher. What connection could she have with whatever it is? Just a few moments after saying this the squirming returns, this time significantly more noticeable, and άγια quickly shifts from atop of the instructor. She feels the woman's eyes watching her as she exhales roughly and touches a hand to her stomach. She can hear footsteps and looks up from the floor she'd wound up staring down at to see the woman standing in front of her. Before she can protest, the woman is already grabbing her wrist and towing her out of the classroom. When άγια glances behind her and seems to stare at something the teacher stops and turns her to face her in the hall.

"Either you see them or we've got a coincidence-imic on our hands," the woman says as she looks down at her student. άγια looks up at her and removes her hand from across her stomach but does not respond. "Oh?" The squirming had eased but now it began to pick up again. This time άγια fights the urge to react and just continues to stare at this figure, the woman that seemed to be causing this sensation to her. "I have friends that people don't normally see. They aren't chakra based or anything so it's not like someone can just see them. But you keep looking at them. You chased one. You react to one. Can you see them?" Instead of not responding to this woman, άγια gives a small nod. Soon afterward the squirming stops and she exhales much the same as just breathing out. But for her she was releasing held breath. "Nimen Karite," the brunette says finally, "Welcome to the class of ghosts and give no ********> A stare void of anything meets her face when she says this. Ghost? What she had been sensing and felt like she could see were ghosts? What she'd chased was a ghost? Could what was making Johnston within her stomach squirm be the result of it also being alerted to the presence of a ghost?

Nimen gestures towards her middle and then at άγια. She must be inquiring as to why she seemed to be touching her stomach on and off. She begins not to respond but has a sobering thought. Could the ghosts tell whether or not she was housing something within her form? If they were able to do that then her not saying something might provoke this Nimen to use the ghosts to see for herself. In that way she might also put the guardian she is to guard with her life in danger. She couldn't allow that. Out of character for her, she decides to say, "A certain ghost is causing my stomach to grow uneasy." She would not normally reveal this information and would just remain silent, but defending her treasure was more important to her than sticking to the script she followed. Nimen seems to give her a look that seemed bored but had a sort of amused look to it.

"Fine then. Why don't you go home for today or go train somewhere? I'd like to go back to my classroom and sleep but with you around I can't catch a wink." άγια nods and bows in her usual manner. Nimen waits a few moments before sighing and walking away from the female. She watches her go as she turns to the empty space beside her and says, "She's going to make me have to work. Working is too hard even if I'm supposed to." Once her student is gone she heads into her classroom.

άγια watches the last of the students disappear over the horizon as she sits in the tree that she had slept in the night before. She shifts about until lying on her back upon the branch. It is narrow but she manages to extend her entire body straight along the structure. For a while she stays like this, waiting for a sensation to pass that won't. She wanted to report in but those ghosts were still around. She could sense them faintly even though Nimen was long gone. Even though they weren't close, she could not feel secure enough to do so unless the feeling was completely gone. So, though she'd rather not, άγια raises herself into a sitting position again and then slips off the side of the tree's appendage. She would land upon the ground with a light thud and then proceed walking away. She would walk, the scene around her changing, for a long time. Going from a barren area with masonry on the ground and varying sized trees to crowded streets lined with buildings and the occasional cluster of plants, to an area paved in concrete that stretched on for yards, and then to a region in the forest that is very dense and has seen very minimal traffic in its existence.

She stands in the forest a time before bending forward and touching her fingertips to the front of her calves. When she does her kimono drapes down over her knees and then tries to overtake her fingertips. She stands straight up again and looks up at the sky as a calm envelops her. "A woman who companies herself with ghosts is teaching me the basic ninja arts. I'm well on my way to becoming stronger so I can protect the guardian I harbor." Silence befalls the area after άγια's small whisper and she seems to look away from the sky. "I wonder if my only purpose is to ascend this one or if I have another purpose set for me. Should I serve my purpose... what of my life then?" She looks to the sky again as the moon shines through a part in the clouds. The light it emits engulfs the area in light and άγια seems to almost smile but not quite. "I will press forward. I will protect the guardian within me. And I will..." she trails off as the light fades away. It seemed she did not have time for the rest. She gave a very brief report this time, but it held the same information as a lengthier one might. She turns to a tree nearby with a cradle shape to the branches and decides to perch herself in it and return to her other tree later.

She motions over to the the trunk of the tree but not too close. Given enough space she crouches down until her knees are barely touching the ground and then leaps upward. Mid-air she commences turning her body until angled enough to be diagonal to the the tree trunk. Her feet would almost be drawn into the structure as she begins falling back down and soon she is vertical to the earth. Her hair shifts off to one side, hiding her hairpin for a moment, before she uses her index finger to shift her hair out of her face and away from her hairpin. Her frocks point towards the ground as she scales the tree and then affixes herself on the branch. She lays on her side, one leg overlapping the other and bent as one arm lays against her side and the other rests under her head on the branch. She wanted to report in more, even though she had just reasoned with herself that it would not make much of a difference, but she would not speak again. She would just lay there molding her chakra as doing much else was not feasible for the time being.

The following day she wakes up in the tree near the Academy and then hops down. She reports to her classroom only to find Nimen not to be present. She was already uneasy about being back in class and it only made matters worse since her teacher wasn't there. She worried over if the ghost that upset Johnston might come around again. Still she would hold face and look as if nothing was wrong. She would need to channel her endurance in order to keep the ghosts from delving into her to find any answers they should seek. She waits with her classmates for an hour but still no sign of Nimen. άγια did not care much for just sitting around so she stands from her seat. She proceeds down the steps and then leaves out of the doorway to the classroom. She wasn't going to leave, as she really didn't have anyplace to go. She was simply going to venture out to the training grounds and get some practice in. But as she reaches said grounds she can sense someone approaching. She turns around and then steps off to the side which makes her hair sweep in her face a moment before falling away. She notices a person that was a part of her class stop on the path before her and she merely gazes at him.

He seems to take in her gaze and then turn away and head elsewhere. She doesn't take this action to heart and just turns around again. She begins her training by striking a dummy repeatedly with one fist and throwing in a random jab from her other hand now and then. Soon she begins using both hands for fighting and tosses a random side kick in every so often. Before long she is shifting between using her hands and feet to strike the dummy and even gives a round house kick as she imagines targets around her. As she goes forward with her training she feels the same sensation as before and halts her upraised leg just when she is about to pull it back after a strike. She hears a gasp and then turns around again to find no one there. She lowers her leg and stands there staring... staring and waiting. And soon the boy from peeps around the corner and looks at her before retreating back. From just looking at him he held no significance to her. None that she could discern then and there. So she had no interest in trying to coax them out. In fact she would begin walking away and heading back towards the school building. "Hey, um..." She hears the boy say as he follows after her.

She doesn't stop nor does she turn about to respond to him. He falls quiet just until they are heading into the building and he comes up beside her. "You're that one girl that walked on water first, right? That was really cool what you did. Well..." She listens to him, turning her head and looking at him. "I didn't get to watch you really but I could tell that you were out there and walking across the water. For some reason I looked away while you did it." She turns to face forward again, noting his statement. No one aside from perhaps the ghosts really watched her bare body move across the water's surface. "I'm having a hard time of it and was wondering if you might--." άγια stops and turns to face this male, this boy. She had no interest in him, so she gave him no response. All she would do is narrow her eyes and then blink slowly. She would give a light exhale and then turn around and continue on towards the classroom. He doesn't seem to follow her for some time but soon she hears his footsteps as he rushes to walk along beside her. "You're not a very nice girl," he complains. She gives him no response and doesn't note his statement.

"You won't help anyone even though someone asks you. You don't talk to anyone and you always look like you're going to hit someone. Why don't you lighten up and try and help someone else out instead of just ignoring them?" She listens to him more than a moment ago but gives him the same cold response. She does not look at him nor does she say anything. She watches the path before her as he power walks ahead of her and enters the classroom. Perhaps, in order for her not to have some conflict with him at a later point, she should have responded to him? But she just couldn't manage it. No words came to mind and her mouth refused to move. That was her and she would just have to try to clear the air with him later. άγια watches Nimen as she sits at her desk in a slouch and is looking over at her. The two give each other no sign of acknowledgement and then the Shugotenshi is heading to her seat.

Just before she gets there she hears Nimen state, "Today you'll all be working in teams for the Bushin and Henge technique. Groups of... Whatever. Just get in even groups of the class divided and get those techniques accomplished." Once she finishes her statement άγια finds herself gazing at the boy from earlier and a group sitting where she normally sat. This made her a little concerned but other than that she had no real feelings about her seat being taken. She was also more enthralled in the mention of groups. She wasn't too comfortable in groups and hadn't exactly had the best encounter with a classmate just moments before. But if that was a part of what she needed to complete her task them she supposed she would make the best of it.
