Oh, but the demons were not free. They found things kept... detonating. Largely themselves, in fact. Fyrin was pretty good at that.
Paul, meanwhile, threw up a little earth barrier to take the bolt for the grappling hook until he was on the balcony. He stayed behind cover and popped up to fire down below to clear out the targets there.
Steven meanwhile started cooking a grenade for the Sage and the Acolyte. It hadn't worked so far, but hey. He could do worse. Except... they'd catch it. Before it could cook all the way he dumped it over the edge so it would airburst over the elemental warlocks below.
((Now I am logging. Venom... keep Paul in the action and go to bed soon. biggrin ))

Jacob, without a word, put his back against the wall next to the opening. He leaned to the side and gave a quick survey of the area, his eyes darting here and there, probing every nook and cranny for any signs of a hostile presence.
He wore all black, form-fitting, long-sleeved shirt and form-fitting pants with several pockets. He had soft-soled shoes made for quiet running on and he wore black, fingerless gloves on his hands. There was a FiveseveN strapped to his right thigh, a six inch combat knife to his chest, and a small, saw-off shotgun on his back, and a utility belt around his waist. He held the stunner in his hand as he signaled the others.

Marco found little success. He seemed to be stuck for the moment, but had so much energy he could shield for quite some time.
Steven's grenade exploded over the elementalists, taking another one down. The other was shielded by an especially large vampire beside him. Seeing this effect, the remaining two made a hood of the marble from the wall.
Paul finally managed to mount the wall and began to clamber over.
"Catch me if you can, jackass!" the Acolyte yelled. She flicked three switches and disappeared. Joe suddenly had a lot more broken bones than he had a moment ago.
The demons were frustrated by Fyrin's explosive blasts, but many of the faster ones were getting better at dodging.
((Fyrin can't explode demons at will YET, Bayer. Calm down.))
Alan chuckled at Jacob's approach. He held his hands together and disappeared. "C'mon." Rose and Cyrus disappeared in turn.

With a sigh, Marco set up his shield and began to fire much more precisely. He aimed to take off their heads instead of just hitting them.
Joe healed again and again. It was easy enough, but he needed to do something or this would go nowhere. "Paul, back me up somehow!" Joe said as he hauled the stonework up and around. Holes opened to the floor below and haphazard ridges and spikes shot up around the Acolyte.

Most of Marco's blasts met with the shields of the warlocks.
Predictably, Joe's target failed to be present for his strike.
Paul finished getting onto the platform and now was wrestling with the Acolyte for possession of the Athena, while trying to keep her between him and the Sage.

"Boom," Joe said as he appeared behind the Acolyte and slashed at the back of her neck.

((Blah! Jacob wants to do something...))
Jacob moved from the cover of the wall past the opening and behind a nearby pillar. Another quick scan before he waved everybody forward.
"Where to?" Jacob asked Alan quietly.

"Just go Chameleonic, we'll scale the walls, and start-" Rose was hissing.
"'Ey, guys, I think I saw something," someone behind the barricade whispered very loudly.
--
Joe's attempt was met with Paul stumbling towards him with the Acolyte suddenly behind him, as the sage fired a bolt at Joe.

Marco's shot totally killed whoever said that.
Joe pulled back at the last second, rolling to the side to dodge the bolt as he slashed at it. When he hit the ground, he rolled, then shot up and flitted to the side of the Sage, slashing at his face as he threw a small, almost undetectable fireball at the book.

Marco was ON A DIFFERENT SIDE OF THE BUILDING FROM WHOEVER SAID THAT.
The energy of the bolt was disrupted by the Saint's Saber.
Roland commented as the Sage bolt dispersed.
The Sage disintegrated the oxygen around the fireball, extinguishing it. He then swung a fist at Joe.

"What?" Jacob said as his head snapped in the direction the man was looking towards. He put the stunner away and dropped his right hand to his gun , gripping it when he saw...

Joe skipped back and threw a handful of pebble-sized fireballs, then another, then spun the Saber on a finger and drew it back as a Fire Arrow, only much stronger than it had been when he fought Helmsborough due to the Saber's influence. He fired the arrow, then fired another, then flitted to the side of the Sage that actually held the book, slashing at the arm that held it. A wall of earth slid up behind and on the other side of the Sage.

((Jacob: Huh?))
--
The Sage was, predictably, bailed out again by his Acolyte companion, who flew him to the other side of the balcony a floor up.
He began chanting something, inaudible over the gunfire and such below.

"********. ******** ******** ******** let out his frustration by rapid-firing Fire Arrows down below them into the crowd, then again up at the balcony with the Sage on it.
((How do Acolyte powers work?))
