DariusStormborn She tossed little thrusts and feints, holding a perfect center of balance. It was the first time he had ever seen the female form going through the forms and as focused as he was trying to be, he couldn't help but be distracted by the grace in her motions. Watching her, he felt like he was watching a mirror to his own form, she didn't so much flow through the forms as dance them. Maybe this was how the forms were supposed to look? As they continued their bout, he got more and more comfortable with countering her attacks, he sped up the tempo of the match, imperceptibly, at first, then faster and faster, until the staccato of ringing metal became a din of almost constant attacks and parries. He could see that it was taking it's toll on her, his reserves of stamina were much higher than hers, he was used to swinging a heavy hammer over and over for days on end, this light staff was a feather to him, He could have brute forced her into losing simply by constant jarring impacts wearing her out physically, but this was for her to show the intricacies of swordplay, not a win at any cost. These thoughts skittered over the Void before being consumed never really touching him. Though he wouldn't mind touching her form-fitting clothing. He fumbled the footing on Doves Break Cover, narrowly recovering in time to block Hummingbird Kisses the Honeyrose. A quick thrust to the face, it was meant to keep the opponent respecting their range, but with him stumbling forward, it was almost an impaled charge. He decided it was time to demonstrate why he had been allowed the Sword of the Dedicated without being able to use one, his grin deepened as a bead of sweat drifted down his temple, despite the Void, he was really enjoying the thrill of pitting his skills against another's. Spinning to her left, Thousand Tailed Fox quickly slid into Kingfisher's Dive reversed into Waves Crashing, her most logical counter was Bundling Straw which he preemptively countered with Swinging the Hammer. He flowed faster and faster from form to form, the humming constantly moving staff wove a net of almost impenetrable protection, as well as a punishing continuous succession of attacks. He wasn't sure how she would respond to the sudden flurry, but he was carefully on watch for any mistake or misstep she made, he wasn't going to let their simple exhibition match result in her getting injured. Faye could feel the power in his arms and his body with every blow of the staff. He wasn't trying to knock her down, but the difference in muscle between them almost sent her to the ground more than once. It was getting worse though. He was moving faster! She was not going to be able to last much longer like this. I have to think of something...Maybe? Its my only shot...She waited just a bit, just to make sure that she'd caught on to his rhythm. She waited and lured him into a feint, making sure that he would see it. When his staff came up to meet her where she was supposed to be, she ducked under it, rolling behind him. Darius being so much taller was to her advantage in this case. She came quickly out of her roll behind him with her blade between his shoulders. "Yield."

Darius being so much taller was to her advantage in this case. She came quickly out of her roll behind him with her blade between his shoulders. "Yield." He rained blows against her remarkably strong defense, but he could feel it. Her stamina was flagging, she wasn't used to this kind of exertion. He slowed his pace, falling into an easier sparring pace of give and take, when he went for his turn to give, she wasn't there. She was definitely quick, had she been luring him into a false sense of security? What a little minx! Would you look at... His immediate instinct of reversing stance and a downward thrust balked as her shirt pulled up as she rolled. Round...The Void popped like a bubble as he watched her complete her roll. What a beautiful maneuver, why I- She's behind you! He quickly switched his grip, rolling his left shoulder and bring the end sharply under his arm and immediately thrusting just far enough not to make strike, perfectly executing Sun Off the Water"Yield", her slightly out of breath command. Without moving more than his fingertips, he lightly tapped her in between her breasts with the waiting strike, with his back turned, he had no idea which of them would have made the killing blow. " How about we declare it a draw, instead?", he turned, a broad grin on his face. It was the first time in a long time he had had a challenge like this. " I must say, seeing the forms performed with such elegance, i can definitely understand why so many call it a dance." He made no mention of the flows of his own form, described by his Masters as liquid death. He unbuttoned his coat, taking a handkerchief out and presenting it to the Gray Sister, before removing his coat, revealing a sleeveless undershirt, and pulled a second handkerchief to wipe his own perspiration. " I hope I am not presuming on your time or hospitality, but would you care to eat lunch with me? I am famished and this exercise only made it worse." He leaned against his staff as they spoke, if one weren't accustomed to his mannerisms, it would look almost impudent, but it was just a relaxed pose to him.

Still sitting, she took the handkerchief from him and wiped the sweat off her brow. She pulled her dark gold hair aside and wiped her neck as well. She chuckled, "Does this mean you've reconsidered your thoughts on the sword?" "Lunch sounds wonderful, but I refuse to show myself in the Dining Hall in such a state of disarray." Faye stood up slowly, sheathing her sword. "If you would not mind bringing it upstairs, we can eat in peace in my apartments." At his agreement, she turned and walked nonchalantly back towards her quarters. Or at least it looked nonchalant, she really walked slowly because she was worn out, but no one else was allowed to see that. She cursed to herself on the way up the stairs, Light, I'm out of shape...Felt good though. After what seemed like an eternity, she arrived at her door. Making sure to reset her protections behind her, she went into the back and proceeded to make herself presentable once more.

((Hi, Ali!!!)) Lady_Illusion She allowed the tap from his staff to push her into a sitting position. Panting slightly, she smiled,"Agreed. Draw it is." Still sitting, she took the handkerchief from him and wiped the sweat off her brow. She pulled her dark gold hair aside and wiped her neck as well. She cursed to herself on the way up the stairs, Light, I'm out of shape...Felt good though. After what seemed like an eternity, she arrived at her door. Making sure to reset her protections behind her, she went into the back and proceeded to make herself presentable once more. Darius considered her question carefully, and was even more careful about how he chose his response, " You have given me a definite new respect for the weapon. However, seeing your grace, a flow I know that I will never achieve with a blade, I feel that I should pursue my training with the staff. While I may never receive the respect of a Blademaster, I can at least have pride in what I made myself. I would like to train alongside you, I would like to adapt some of your forms, if that would be ok?" His resultant smile, a little disheartened from his final acceptance, held the hope that he would truly become a master someday. Sliding his staff over his shoulders and hooking his arms over them, the young Dedicated intently studied his companion while she went from disheveled and sweaty to looking as if she had just stepped from behind the curtain again, not a hair out of place, in what seemed like a few heartbeats. Wait, did she say disarray? I will never understand women.Suddenly, Darius' entire demeanor changed, he drew himself to his full height, pulled his staff to a proper rest position, gave a Gaidin's salute, taking all the stony seriousness he could muster, appearing to take the burden of responsibility from her request, showing his full understanding of how important this mission was. " It shall be as you command, Aes Sedai.", he gave the properly executed bow, and peered up through his long lashes at her now retreating form, trying valiantly not to watch her leave. If his eyes strayed, or he gazed a little long as Faye walked away, Fayela Aes Sedai, do not forget that, he was simply studying her form as she leisurely swayed toward her apartments. Blinking, Darius placed his staff in the leather harness on his back he had made specifically for the purpose and began chanting "food" in his head as he trotted to the Dining Hall, so he would not be distracted again. He had taken to it so strongly, he was fairly certain he had said "food" to whatever nicety the scurrying novices and Tower staff met along the way had said to him, leaving them utterly confused and perhaps thinking the large man were a little simple in the head. Arriving quickly at his destination, he quickly piled two trays with food, foolishly not having asked what she might wish, he simply put some of everything. Well, if nothing else, she had a wide array of choices. Holding the two trays in front of him, he felt the steel trays warp slightly from the weight. Perhaps a little overzealous? His hemmer-swinging arms bore the weight with little strain, and apparently moving with a purpose through the Women's Quarters carrying food meant no one stopped you. Darius knocked politely at Fayela's door and awaited her response before entering and laying the trays on her table, nearly covering it in food. A slight flush creeping up from his collar, he said, " Well, I wasn't sure what you'd want so..." He gestured sheepishly to the feast he had brought, " I hope you're hungry?"

When she opened the door, there was no trace of her excursion remaining. Gone were the sparring clothes, replaced by a dress of sky-gray, still as flattering as her prior attire, but much more appropriate for a woman. Gone also, so it seemed, was the sword at her side. No one knew that it was always there. Hidden by a weave of illusion. Her friend, always at her side. She also had her daggers, though no one was supposed to see those either. Faye smiled at him as he brought in the mountain of food. She chuckled, her golden hair quivering slightly, "I ask you for lunch and you bring a feast? Ah, well, we shall enjoy it! Our own private feast." She could not stop smiling as she set the table for them and poured them both tea. She could not help herself. She sat down across from him and sighed, "So you have new respect for the sword though it's not for you? That's understandable. One cannot go against their own nature. Though I hope I did not do the blade any injustice...I'm not actually a Blademaster..." As she spoke those words, it was like an old wound was being reopened. "I would love to train with you, though I do not know what you could learn from me. You should probably find a true master for that." She tried to smile, but the pain of that fact was apparent in her eyes.

Listening earnestly, Darius slowly compiled a collection on his plate of those foods he didn't know, he loved to try new things. Savoring each delicacy, he considered her words. " Yes, I feel that my fate was not for a blade, but I have high hopes for a staff. I am rather proficient with that weapon, at least." He quirked his mouth at her modesty. " While you may not be a 'Blademaster', you did just draw someone who has regularly bested them in mock duels. You shouldn't sell yourself short, you are talented, in my opinion if you aren't one, you could readily become a Blademaster through proper tutelage.", he said, distractedly, choosing out a perfect pear, and presenting it to the Gray Sister, as he searched out one for himself. Finding one, he sank his straight teeth into it, trying not to let the juices drip down his chin, unsuccessfully. He gave a childlike grin as he used a napkin to clean himself before continuing to savor the fruit that was so rare in Two Rivers. Leaning back with a satisfied sigh, the Blacksmith's apprentice finished his meal with a sweetbread from Tear, his rather large frame had consumed almost half of what he had brought in the few minutes since he had sat down. One learned to eat fast when you ate as a group and food was limited. " As to what I can learn from you, I have never seen a man move as you do, so you have the unique ability to teach me something no Blademaster ever could hope to, how to dance the dance with the grace of a woman.", he tossed his mischievous grin her way once more as he stretched contentedly, the large meal having the desired effect and giving him a slightly drowsy feeling.

"That is because there has never been a female Blademaster..." She took a bite of the pear he handed her, thinking to herself. She ate slowly, seemingly lost in thought, and only about half as much as he did. Her etiquette reflected her noble breeding. "It isn't really surprising that you are able to beat so many Blademasters though. They say that Jearom, the greatest swordmaster to ever live, was bested only once, by a farmer with a staff,"she grinned back at him. "No one should underestimate a farmer.Truthfully you should never underestimate anyone, but too many are judged by who and what they are and have things expected of them that does not harmonize with who they are..."

"No one should underestimate a farmer.Truthfully you should never underestimate anyone, but too many are judged by who and what they are and have things expected of them that does not harmonize with who they are..." Darius nodded, thoughtfully, as she spoke. He had never seen a female Blademaster. As a matter of fact, he had, only on very rare occasions, even seen a woman who could use a sword with any proficiency. It was not usually considered a fairer pursuit. His train of thoughts was slowly eclipsed as he suddenly became very interested in his hands and the sweetbread he was nursing, as opposed to the languid way that a thoughtful Fayela Sedai ate a pear. Darius swallowed hard as he tried to refocus on what she was saying. He grinned his almost childlike grin, at her mention of Jearom, the fantasy of every little boy who dreamed of glory in battle, well, almost all. Darius had always been of the mind to focus on why he lost than in how many he had won. For someone who dedicated themselves to the perfection in their skill with a weapon to be bested by a simple farmer with a penchant for the staff? It would seem the staff is the superior weapon. Or at least, that was the logical conclusion he came to when he realized he would never be of any use with a blade in his hands. A low, thrumming interrupted his thoughts and proved irritating at first, followed by concern when his companion showed no sign that she, too, heard the strange droning. Looking around the room, intently, he could find no source for the unusual hum. In an attempt to hear it clearer, Darius seized saidin and was immediately overwhelmed by the sound of screaming, he had just enough presence of mind to realize it was his voice before the world tilted wildly around him and blackness took him in her arms.

((dont you just hate it when there is no time to reply here? lol onto the mission in Illian))
Raznon looked upon the Aes Sedai and then moved toward the dead imposter. He dragged the body towards her and then unceremoniously dropped the man in front of her making sure she could see his face clearly.
"This Wetlander has appearently killed a Gaidan and taken his place with the help of someone who can touch the source. I wish your help with three matters concerning this. Firstly can the Power be used to make someone look like someone else? Secondly, is there any law in the Tower that dictates how I must treat this traitor I have among my midst? And lastly I am in need of information because you are the one who lives and stays in this region I assume. I need to know if you have seen or heard of male or female channelers here operating outside of the the Tower guidlines or causing troubles the Tower might be concerned with.
Raz felt other wolves joining in on his conversation and at this point pushed it all away. He refused to mess with this strange new ability without proper training. Perhaps I am not showing the respect I should an Aes Sedai as is proper...Sightblinder is using his minions to twist me...I must control myself.
"I apologize Aes Sedai...I do need all of that information but I should not speak to you so."
Raznon gave off the Tower Guard salute he had come up with so long ago without even thinking about it. His eyes peeled left and right watching the treeline...he trusted the Gaidin...almost as far as he could throw them...but he had to remember to honor thier way and give them the respecth they deserve.

Dragon Hawk (( Hello all, its nice to see every1 doing well. I myself got busy this summer. but now i'm back i think. I got a message from Merc with a simple "boo" so i guess its time to find my last post and start posting xd )) Hawk look at Merc for a moment and the people sorrounding them. Are you going to be ok here while I'm gone he ask his aes sedai. She nods at him and and gives him a faint smile reassuring him that everything is going to be alright. Hawk bow and fist on his heart to salute aes sedai before walking back to the tower. He can sense everything clearly empowered with the void and saidin at his grasp.
As he open the door leading to the tower, he meet with a young woman, must be one of the novices. Hawk walks towards her and she paused on her steps anxious and amazed at the same time watching the Keepers gaidin walking towards her. Hawk stops and gaze at her with his gray eyes from top to toe. He sense her blushing and he grins at her, a wolfly like smirks coming from him. Hawk ask her if she might have seen Alina Sedai. The novice nods and told him where to find Alina. Hawk nods and continue to search for Alina at corridor of the tower. ((!! HAWK!!! *spazzes out in surprise* YAYYYY....wooww...we're kinda getting back to the old days... nice to have you all back buddies!! Where's Mini and Alina?? They're gonna be so psyched!))

His eyes peeled left and right watching the treeline...he trusted the Gaidin...almost as far as he could throw them...but he had to remember to honor thier way and give them the respecth they deserve. Vin thought to herself. He's a tad unpolished, but he means well. She glanced down at the body that was a foot away from her. The face was already becoming stiff. "Well...to answer your questions, firstly. Yes, they can be made to look like someone else...most sisters are able to perform it to some extent or another. But of course appearance is not everything; the object changed must stand up to other tests, or in this case, act as the actual person would have. In regards to your prisoner, I do not believe so. But you may want to ask the Gaidin or whomever your superior is for this task that you are on. As for vigilantes, of either channelers, to my knowledge no one has caused trouble in this area since I have been here. Of course, since the Dragon Reborn, it would only be fair to say my knowledge of the male channelers may be incomplete or inaccurate. So far as the female channelers go, there have been no official troublemakers. However, under these circumstances, there are a few conclusions which I have come to. Firstly, the deliberate changing of this stranger's appearance into one of the Gaidin suggests that there is a plan afoot. No Gaidin is easy to defeat however; yet as he is dead I cannot acertain his skill. And yet, there are no marks on him. It would suggest that either he did not face the Gaidin he replaced, or else bested or delayed him by deceitful means. And secondly, weaving illusions is not comparatively difficult, when placed against some of the other weaves Aes Sedai can perform. I would venture that perhaps even those without formal training could attempt it to some extent. So perhaps whoever did this was a channeler, but simply not strong or foolish enough to attract the notice of the Tower. The lingering saidar is visible, so it was clearly a female channeler. Mayhaps a wilder. I will inquire as to whether any members of the Tower ever formally searched this area for channelers, but it will take me a couple of days." Vin paused, and glanced around. Nothing else was out of place. The body. That was odd however. She frowned, and slowly circled it, taking in the image from every angle. Nothing. She frowned. "If I may...on whose request are you here. And do you know who ambushed you?" she asked the Aiel, as for some reason he was obviously the person in charge.

Sometimes Mercury had to wonder, why had she ever thought being a novice or Accepted was difficult. Why hadn't she just gone back to the inn after gaining the shawl? Sooner or later her mind would give her one reason or another, so she supposed it didn't matter now.
Light above. Clarissa was kidnapped yesterday, from the Tower itself. And while I await that blasted Romvian to contact me, all this. Perhaps it is for the best that the farm trainees are back. The times are not well.
But an ambush on Raznon and his company? They only could have arrived this morning, and already a commotion...what does Wolf mean one of the Warders is missing? And which of the sisters did they contact?
Her head was positively buzzing. The farm trainees were now in neatly arranged lines, awaiting Alina. The Keeper lingered there, to make sure nothing went wrong until Alina arrived.
"Wolf...Hawk went to find Alina?" Wolf nodded silently, but she could feel questioning through the bond. She knew what he was wondering: why ask him about Hawk when she had the bond, and for once, open instead of shielding herself from both of them?
It had been a perfunctory action, to let her mind calm down in the mean time. There was something going on...something had to link Illian...the Tower...Romvian...Come on Mercury, you've done this for years and never once had difficulty...what's wrong with you? Why can't you figure it out?
Clarissa was gone...no...she would be back soon. She needed a few trusted people to discuss this with. Alina. Mairyela. Wolf and Hawk. But first...she needed more information. How?
The poisoned fog in Tel'Dashar prevented her and the Wolfkin from going. And she could not risk other people's lives. So how could she gather information...without unnecessarily risking other people's lives. And without letting the rest of the Tower know something was going on.

Markis kept an eye on the courtyard, but he was truly confused. The feelings from his Warder bond with Mercury indicated strange things. She was confused. Worried. Puzzled. And he wasn't sure, but he thought somewhere there might be just a grain of...fear?
It had been some time since he had known his Aes Sedai to fear anything.

Raznon listened to the Aes Sedai speak of the things he had asked about and took each answer into consideration. His original mission was go to where the Great Water touches the land in Illian and search for male channelers causing problems to innocents. If there had been male channelers they would have been spotted long ago and this Aes Sedai would have knowledge of it. Deciding he had better act upon what was given and keep a wary eye on the Aes Sedai.
"I am under the command of Mercury Aes Sedai for the time being. Hm...I shall take the prisoner back to the Tower...as to the condition the wetlander traitor will be in...he will be fit for questioning upon our return. As to the wetlanders that came with the traitor...they had no distiguishing remarks though they made quite a face when they saw me...almost turning up thier noses during a fight...it was quite funny as they fell upon my spears."
He grinned at his little joke and then remembered something on the bottom of thier boots that caught his eye.
"Actually they had that on the bottom of thier boots...I would say all of them did but I am not sure because I did not kill them all personally."
When he said 'that' he pointed to the sun that was shining overhead cause that was the closest thing to what he had seen.
"Unfortunately you have made my mission appearently unnecesary because I come to exterminate male channelers that are terrorizing those that lift no weapons against them. If there are no such men in the land that connects to the Great Water...then I must return to the Tower with haste."
Motioning with his hand two of the Gaidin took the dead man away and Raz gave them the look telling them to get rid of the body for good. He waited patiently for the Aes Sedai to respond caressing his white spear without noticing.
