Nina smiled. "Yes, they are. I've had Misdreavus for as long as I can remember, and I just caught my Marill the other day." She picked it up and started to pet its head, and it cooed a little. Nina smiled a little, and noticed Kasiya's Pikachu. "I take it that that Pikachu is yours as well?" she asked.

Pikachu looked up at Nina and grinned, as if to answer the question for her. Kasiya bent down and stroked Vaporeon's head. "I caught it the other day," she said. "Didn't put up much of a fight though. She really was insistent on sharing Eevee's lunch." She stood up, studying Misdreavus. "I've never seen a Ghost Pokemon up close before," she said. "I've only read about them."

"From what my... erm. Father has told me, the Misdreavus that I have is the result of him breeding his own. However, that was around sixteen years ago, and he has since stopped breeding." Misdreavus floated down near Pikachu and Vaporeon and tilted its head.
"Misdreavus is a very loyal Pokemon, but I personally consider her more of a friend than anything else."

"Pokemon make the best friends, in my opinion. They don't tend to judge you or anything harsh like that. They like you for who you are," she said, reaching over to pet Marill's soft, plushie fur. "I've only met a Marill once before," she cooed. "They are just so cute!"

Nina smiled. "That's true. And so long as you treat them well, they have no reason not to be kind in return." She pet Marill a little more as Kasiya did also.
"The gym leader of Cerulean City was rather infatuated with Marill. When she noticed that I had it, her tone and attitude toward me completely changed." Marill cooed a little.

"Cerulean City Gym..." Kasiya paused, putting a finger to her chin and thinking. "Misty is the leader there. Specializes in water types, I believe. It's only natural she'd warm up to Marill," Kasiya reasoned.
"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, leaping up off the ground and jumping onto Kasiya's shoulder, plainly envious of all the attention Marill was getting. Vaporeon sat down at Kasiya's heels, still looking amused.

"Being honest," Nina began, "I only went there because I was looking for my sister, and needed directions to Saffron City. Since I'm not from this region, I had no idea where I was headed, and basically wandered around until I found another town. Since the guards turned me down at the souther Saffron City gate, I had to go around and under, taking a path underground before finally arriving in Cerulean. I got to Misty's gym and asked her for directions, and she said that since Saffron's train isn't running, I'd have to go to Lavender Town and take another underground path to get there."
Nina took a breath. "I arrived in Saffron alright, but my sister wasn't there, so I came back to Lavender Town to get some rest."

"Underground paths? I thought they closed those things down years ago because they were unsafe," Kasiya said, looking rather suprised. "Sounds like you've had quite the adventure the last few days, especially being new to Kanto. My name is Kasiya," she said, reaching out her hand. "And welcome to Kanto, if no one's done that yet." Her smile was bright as she spoke.

She smiled. "My name is Nina. It's nice to meet you." She took Kasiya's hand and shook it.
"And, about those underground paths? Well... they really aren't all that safe. I ended up making a twenty-foot drop to reach the first one." A little bit of a grin flashed across her face.

"Glad to see you're alright after that fall," Kasiya smiled, catching Nina's quick grin. "You said you were looking for your sister, right? Well, I know quite a bit about the Kanto region, perhaps I can help you. I've been thinking about starting to take a few gym challenges, you see, and I'm going to be traveling a lot anyways." She looked around, noticing that Bryn wasn't in sight. "I haven't had much luck keeping a travel buddy," she admitted.

"Gym challenges?" Nina repeated. "That sounds like fun. And I can relate about not being able to keep travel partners-- I've had to run out on them twice, and I haven't seen them since yesterday, I believe." Marill shifted a little in her arms. "And I'd appreciate any help you can give me in finding my sister. There are some things I must ask her."

"I will assist in any way I can," she said. "Although I don't think we'll be going anywhere this evening, thanks to the weather. And I should get these two some food," she said. Pikachu was eyeing Marill and Misdreavus's food bowls hungrily. Vaporeon nuzzled her leg affectionately.

Nina smiled. "These two don't really eat much, and they're angels to take care of." She set Marill down and it waddled over to Pikachu and looked at it. "Mare?" it asked, tilting its head. Misdreavus floated over to the window and watched the storm.

"Pika pi!" Pikachu jumped down and greeted Marill. "Pikachu pika pi. Chu!" it said, extending its paw in a friendly matter. Kasiya had asked Nurse Joy for two servings of Pokemon Food, and she sat them down on the floor in front of her Pokemon. Vaporeon gave a cry of thanks, and started eating right away.

"Rill! Mare rilril!!!" Marill took Pikachu's paw with its own and shook it, a happy look on its face. "Mare," it said, simply.
Nina smiled a little. "It's nice to see how well they're getting along," she commented. After a moment of studying them, she said, "Odd. They look somewhat similar-- perhaps they are cousins of a type?"
Misdreavus continued watching the storm.
