Layna let the tears spill down her cheeks. She swiped at them stubbornly, her chest choking as she sobbed. Her hands fluttered on Ceon's chest as she kissed him gently, fearfulness, worry, anger.... every emotion that had snapped at her heels since she had come into the living room. "Ceon...Thank God..." She sobbed.

Ceonput a hand to Layna's cheek, "Enough is enough with these hunters. Something has...to be done." Ceon kissed her back deeply. He couldn't tell her what would become of him..not yet.

Layna whimpered softly against his lips. She knew something was wrong. But she kissed him back, craving his kiss, hoping. "Don't you get involved. You hear me? I do not want anymore of your blood on my hands." She growled lowly at him.

Ceon looked at Layna with sorrowful eyes, "Layna...I'm going to die one of these days. I...I'm not sure wether it willl be tomorrow or a year from now, but in my dream, I realized that Daiguren was going to kill me, and there's nothing I can do to stop it. So I'm going to do all in my power to help our kind rid these hunters from New York. Please understand, Layna."

Tears welled up in her stormy eyes. "Ceon..." She whimpered. Her whole body shook with sobs that she could not hold back. She wiped at her cheeks, finding no words she could say to him. He would go get himself killed, and where would that leave her? To raise a child...alone. The thought made her face pale of color.

Ceon took her in his arms and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "Layna, everybody dies at some point in their life. I just happen to know how it's going to happen. You forget though, even in death, I'll be next to you."

"Please....Please don't get involved..." Layna whimpered as he held her. She burrowed her face against his chest, coughing as sobs rocked her. Her mind wanted to plead to him for him to stay with her, and Gabriel. He whimpered, sniffing at his father, worry in his big grey eyes.

"Shhh, don't cry, Layna. Even if I die, I'll be back before you know it. I just....can't make any promises right now. It's just not an option right now, not with all the hunters and tainted running around." Ceon kissed her forehead and pushed some hair away from her face.

Layna continued to cry silently. She couldn't hold back the tears of anger and hurt that she felt. Ceon would leave, and get himself killed. For what? So a few hunters and Tainted would die? She couldn't make any sense of it. She almost wished to the 'Angel' for help. He had been so kind to her. Perhaps he would be willing... She shook away the thoughts, and pulled away from Ceon to stand on shaky legs. "If that....is what you want...." She murmured almost soundlessly.

"It isn't what I want, though. It's what the pack needs to stay alive. I want to stay alive just as much as you want me to. But I can't stop my death. It could take a week, it could take ten years, so I plan to enjoy every oter second with you." Ceon pressed Layna's head against his beating heart, letting her know that he was alive.

Layna closed her eyes, willing the tears to stop. Her breath was ragged as pain coursed through her. It was a stabbing pain in her chest....in her heart. "Yes...." She whispered, her voice barren of all emotion. It was as if she would think of Ceon dead, and her whole heart would break.

Ceon kissed her deeply as he put a hand to her heart. She had to know eventually. He couldn't have kept it from her forever. "I love you Layna, and I'll always be with you."

Layna felt tears trickled down the sides of her eyes. It was still a painful thought, but she needed to relax. Gabriel whined, pawing at their legs. He too, was worried.

Ceon took Gabriel and set him on his lap. "Layna, if I die, I will be back. I just won't be a lycan. I'll be there for you no matter what."

Layna felt herself grow weak at his words. The thought...the memory that she did not want to remember. She sat heavily upon the floor, her breath coming in short gasps. She didn't want to remember. Cold touch, sharp teeth upon her neck. Death. Fire alive. No! She put a hand to her eyes. "I don't want you....to be like him..."
