The storm is brewing again?
He had this funny feeling that hadn't travelled that much, but that was just him.

Bigger than last night, Gion affirmed, pressing into the drift. He wished he had his father's gift ... but only Elnara and Elrohir had inherited that one. He sighed.
Any ideas for a good way to make a big burrow quickly? he asked Daemon. It's a lot harder than it was last night ...
He tried using his weight to push the snow down, but he was too light ... at the rate the wind was picking up, he wondered if he soon might learn what it felt like to fly ...

Use something stiffer to shove the snow out... it's that or you're going to try to build snow around you instead... but that might take just as long.
Daemon replied getting a bit worried.

Something stiffer ... well, he had the sword, and that was about it ... He unsheathed Daemon, wincing at the pain of the cold metal peeling away from his skin, and started poking at the snow to loosen it.
He felt a shadow behind him and looked over his shoulder to see a giant white cat. He had to blink and look again before he believed what he saw ... it was so white it blended in with the snow ...
And as soon as he recognized what it was, he went stiff with terror.

What's....
Daemon saw something large... it reminded him of a house cat in a way.... far too large for a normal cat though.
Don't move.... don't slash out until I say otherwise. Daemon warned.

Gion nodded and tightened his grip on the sword.
There wasn't much space for manouvering between the two drifts ... two feet of space, tops - and they were now close to eleven feet high ...

The cat lifted its head majestically and stared down at the puny elf, studying him through black expressionless eyes. One lip curled slightly, and its long whiskers brushed against its cheek ...
It jumped lightly from the top of the drift, landing in the valley between drifts and sending snow flying. Then it looked at the elf again ...

Daemon began seeing something, he had a feeling he couldn't put his finger on it.... but he had feeling that under normal circumstances Gion would be fighting for his life, but not like this.
It's just staring isn't it?

So far, Gion affirmed, swallowing nervously and not taking his eyes off the enormous creature.
More specifically, he was staring at the giant teeth and claws ...

The moor cat sniffed the air tentatively, then put one giant paw forward ... then another ... and another ...
... but it was moving slowly, as if it was trying not to appear dangerous ...

Daemon tried to see... but he didn't see danger, but there was something else... something nice and fuzzy..... nevermind the fact sometimes he saw a lady and sometimes he saw a cat.
Gion is there anyone else with you?

Gion shook his head and swallowed nervously once more.
No one, he told Daemon anxiously. But it's coming closer ...

The cat came closer, so close that it actually nuzzled the flat of the blade with its nose, keeping one eye on the elf.

It hit him between the eyes like lightening, in which he really didn't like visions like that, but when it came it came. At least he didn't have a head to have a headache with.
Hmm... Hello Lady....
Daemon paused for a moment.
Err... I think...

The moor cat paused, then sat, then lay on its stomach and nosed the sword again.
What are you? a woman's voice thought back. You're not from this world at all, are you?
