She thought about that protecting part, and then remembered those bigger Fae that had captured Absalom. They didn't seem so tough to Kizzy, 'But, it wouldn't hurt ta be able ta get rid of 'em, if they ever dared come after him dat is.' "Dat'd be good incase da ugly guys get Absalom again!" She smoothed out her portrait of him lovingly on the table and smiled at it. "What can I do ta stop em?"

Cordain looked up from his cleaning at Ayira, "I may consider enrolling Nekura in your school, but for now I wish for any martial arts training to come from me..." he shrugged a shoulder and looked back down at his cleaning, "It's the only connection I've made with Nekura other than the whole abandonment thing."

Nekura finally put the pieces of the picture back in place but they wouldn't stay together. An idea suddenly came to him though. He ran from his room to his father's and grabbed a needle and thread before he returned to his room.

He knelt down and began slowly trying to thread the needle as he had seen Cordain do before. After many tries he finally succeeded in threading the needle which he then used to sew the picture back into one piece.

The sewing took time as well, and he frequently stabbed himself in the hand which frustrated and angered him. However this did not stop Nekura from fixing the picture.

Once he had finished sewing the picture back together he stood up and bit the thread apart, again as he had seen Cordain do.

He then rushed down the stairs and right over to Kizzy. He set the repaired picture down and moved back towards the stairs, giving Cordain a dark, unhappy glare.

Cordain just smiled back at Nekura, he knew Nekura suddenly felt bad for what he did to the picture Kizzy had made, and was blaming him for it. His gaze then turned to Ayira, "Ayira, this is my son Nekura."

Kizzy quickly snatched her picture of Absalom close to her body with the sudden arrival of Nekura and glared at him, however, at the sight of the repaired picture she froze. Cautiously she picked it up and looked it over, it wasn't quite as broken now. It flopped in a sad sort of manner but, was all there. However, Kizzy felt that it was hardly an apology. She shoved the picture away and 'hmph'ed loudly. "It's still ruined!" Picking up her drawing supplies she moved over to the bar and climbed up on one of the stools further away from Nekura.

((Sorry for late response. -.-;;;; wink )

Linnea considered this. She wanted to look pretty, but her mama said that pretty people got looked at a lot. But if they were going to look at her anyway, she'd rather look pretty, wouldn't she?

"You too?" she asked after a few moments. "We will both look pretty?"

"Yes!" Momo replied cheerfully, relieved that Linnea appeared to be in better spirits. "And Lady Chiaku gave me some nice, pretty clothes she used to wear. We can dress up and be like princesses or, you know, those kind of people no one laughs at."

Already she began thinking of the different costumes that were in her play trunk at home. "So make sure to ask your mom if we can play together soon, and I bet we can make ourselves the prettiest girls in Astora!"

Cordain

Cordain reached over and pat Kizzy on the shoulder, "He's trying Kizzy." he stated to her as he watched Nekura who was just stood there and glared at the two of them.

Nekura watched Cordain put his hand on Kizzy's shoulder and suddenly shouted, "If you like her so much adopt her and leave me alone!" he then bolted up the stairs.

Cordain blinked a few times before he leapt over the bar and bounded up the stairs after Nekura, "Nekura wait!" he called out.

Nekura slammed the door to his room shut and jammed a chair against the doorknob to brace it shut, "Go back and be all fatherly with Kizzy! You're not my father! You're not even Fae! You're HUMAN!"

Turning around Kizzy stretched her face out and stuck her tounge out towards the stairs. She didn't want anything of Nekura's. It'd all be broken or mean just like him. She took her pink crayon and began to smash it down on the bar leaving pink spots all over. "Stupid Nekura!" Throwing the now stubby crayon towards the fireplace she hopped off the bar stool with her drawing and went over towards Carol and screamed up at her. "I'm hungry~! NOW~!"

Cordain

PostPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2005 3:17 pm

Cordain had tried to open the door to Nekura's room but discovered it was jammed shut. So he instead, seated himself with his back against the door, "You are right Nekura, I am human, but I've also been through what you've been through Nekura."

Nekura blinked as he heard Cordain through the door, "LIAR! You're just trying to get me to trust you like my mother did! Then you'll leave me just like her!!!" he shouted out angrily.

Cordain gave a hollow laugh, "Nekura...I am not lying...I've been through my own personal hell. I understand what you're going through!" he retorted before he heaved a deep, sad sigh and tilted his head over.

"My parents abandoned me to a group that taught me to kill other people, and then sent us on suicide missions against beings that are as scary if not scarier than those fae in the forest...Possibly as strong too..." Cordain called, his voice strained with sadness from forcing himself to remember it all.

Nekura seated himself upon the floor near to the door as he quietly listened to Cordain, still not trusting or believing him.

"If you don't believe me...When you're grown up, you can go to find a man called Fade Korsa who lives in the Solaris Combine. He will tell you that is what was done to me by my family." Cordain spoke softly as he rested his head back against the door.

On the horizon, the sun had already begun to set, clouds darkening throughout the sky. Chiaku regarded it with a concerned expression and then returned her attention to her companions.

"Sir Toshihiko, Ms. Sai," she said, "I think that Ms. Morato should not be left along in her house tonight...I fear for the condition of her health, as well as the possibility that she might be attacked once again. I advise that we relocate her to the inn, at least for the moment. There are many people around in case she requires help, and I am certain that Sir Cordain, with his bit of fighting background, would be able to keep her safe for the night."

Carol looked at kizzy, wondering why she was in such a hissy mood. "Kizzy...lower your voice, please?" she asked motioning to the sleeping toddler. "We will get to work on your pancakes in a secound....but you must be patient. If you want you can help us; the more help the faster it will be..." Carl stated simply and turned her attention back to paine. She didnt know how sai would handle the situation and didnt want to say anything that may upset the other mother, but she also didnt care for the idea of being bossed around.

She went over to the counter top and placed kapono and the supplies she had carried on the counter before sighing. She propped the boy up so she could watch him while she cooked before turning to kizzy once more. "Kizzy, if you want to help, go wash your hands ok? Food always tastes better when you help in making it" she stated and looked at paine without even waiting for a reply. "Ok; we should go wash up to!" she said with a giggle. "We will clean ourselves up later, someones really hungry"

Paine nodded, she didn't mind Kizzy accompaning them in making pancakes. "The more the merrier!" she said. She leaned against a counter and waited for the fire fae to return. She was quite silent, but since Kizzy was gone for a while, Paine decided to bring the subject up. "Hey Miss Carol? What do you want me to design for your new clothes?" she asked.

"I'm sure you can do quite a lot if trained properly Ms. Kizzy!" Ayira said as she reached across the table and patted her on the head, "I am betting you can be quite a good fighter." she added with a smile. Ayira more or less zoned for a second as she cleaned her throwing stars, though she snaped out of it as a red and pink colored Fae with a mask walked over to Kizzy and placed a ripped drawing on the table infront of her. It seemed like he was trying to apologize for something, because he moved away after placing it in front of her. She heard the man whom talked to her earlier about maybe wanting his son to join the Dojo say her name and introduce his son, the red and pink masked Fae. Ayira looked at the boy and nodded before looking back at Kizzy and her reaction. She also watched as the boy ran upstairs yelling at the man about something and the man following him. Ayira placed her stars on the table and walked over to Kizzy, "Ms. Kizzy are you really still mad at him? I dotn blame you how dare he try and fix his mistake and show you kindness by sewing it back together, even if you could see he stabed himself with the needle in the process. How dare he try and be friends with you after all that, even though it seems its hard for him to apologize for anything, but still how dare he." she said sounding very serious but trying the trick her mother used on her as a child but seeming to take her side but still pointing out the obvious so that the child could figure it out on their own. Ayira sat on the stool next to her and laughed as Kizzy yelled for pancakes, shaking her head at the little girl playfully.

Sai nodded in agreement with Chiaku. "That sounds good, Seriva and Absalom could carry any necessities, while we help move her to the Inn, if they feel up to it. Also I'm worried about my little girl, who knows what could be going on with her on her own."

--

Kizzy grumbled but her stomach grumbled louder and she decided to help. She headed for the sink in the kitchen, but was conflicted about what to do with her picture of Absalom. She definately didn't want it to get washed, messy, or even worse, attacked by Nekura.

Nekura.... She thought about what Ayira had said. 'How dare he! He's just causin' more problems all da time!' But now was not the time to worry over rediculous, evil Nekura.

Back in pancake land, she decided that her drawing would be safe if it was tucked away from everything and everyone. Looking around she found an empty cuppboard and placed it inside for the moment. Now free to wash her hands she was left with a new dilema, which was....washing her hands. She turned on the cold faucet and immediately regretted it as it splashed dropplets on her arm. Yelping loudly in annoyance she hopped to the side away from the water and smashed at the handle until it turned off. Next came the hot faucet, and Kizzy became quite enamored by the foggy stuff that came out with the water. The water was very warm, but heat or no heat this was still water. Turning off the faucet one last time, the orange Fae put her hands in the tiny puddle of water in the sink and quickly pulled them out to dry them off on her skirt. Calling back to Carol and Paine, "I'm clean now! Pancakes, yes?!"

Cirisse

Cirisse giggled, 'Well, there's a little shop that sells apples and cakes and juice and stuff. We should go there!' She grinned, and at the mention of food and drink, her own body became aware of her fanish. She had not eaten for two days ... wow.

She gave Rein a weak smirk, 'Come on, I know where it is.' She began to walk down the street from the Inn, towards the shop.

She smiled and nodded at Cirisse as she followed her towards the shop. As she followed, she looked around ignoring her stomach for a moment to get a nice view of her surrondings. "This place really looks peaceful. It seems like a very lovely place to live in.." SHe replied softly.

Carol smiled. "I want a dress, oh yes, I havent had a dress in a long time! Maybe a white one? hmm...Yes, Or pink! OR both!!" She giggled getting exicted about her dress. "Yes yes!" She smiled and started hopping up and down.

The hopping caused Kapono to open an eye slightly a yawn passed through his small lips as he stared at Carol hopping up and down. He gave a confussed look before grunting in dissapproval still cletching the paper tight in his hand.

"Ooooh, Did I wake someone?" Carol asked the little boy; just before Kizzy walked up saying she was clean. Carol dragged her eyes over to kizzy putting up a finger to Kapono signaling she would get back to him in a secound. "All clean huh?" She asked the girl with a bright smile "Well, lemme see, ok?"

She took the childs hands; careful of the spikes and looked at her palms. Inspecting for dirt. Seemingly pleased with the palms she flipped the childs hands over in her own staring at the backs. She let a small smile out before nodding her head. "Yes; All clean, now lets get some pancakes made huh?" She asked giggling and turning over to the flour that was settled next to Kapono.

"If my memory serves me right..." she stated and looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "We need...hmm...2 or 3 cups of flour....Lets..uh...go with two, and if its still sticky use three?" She asked looking back at the two girls. "Kapono dear, hand mommy the cup next to you" She told the young boy and waited for his reaction.

Kapono stared at carol for quite some time before finnally reacting. He yawned slightly and reached over for teh cup and held it out, waiting paitently for Carol to take it. She smiled warmly and grabbed the cup. "Thank you!" She giggled, and turned to kizzy. "Kizzy, wanna pour the flour?" she asked happily, as Kapono yawned and rolled over falling back into a peaceful slumber.

Kizzy grabbed at the big of flour, which was kind enough to weigh less than Kapono, and peered into it. "Where are da pancakes?" She stuffed her head close to the bag and sniffed at it. "It don't smell like pancakes....." Not quite trusting this 'flower' stuff that Carol was needing she slowly hefted it into a position to which she could pour it. Tipping the bag slightly the white powder started to flow out of the bag and for the most part made it into the cup. Shuffling her feet around in the pile of flour on the floor Kizzy glared at it as it stuck to her shoes. "Is it ready yet?"
