Brooke watched with wide eyes as Annie displayed one of his new moves, black orbs taking in the color change to his claw. "That's amazing," she breathed and couldn't help but experimentally flap one of her flippers, as if by some magic she too could display that move, just from watching Annie. When that failed she contended herself with clapping politely when he showed off yet another move, this one a little more familiar to her. "It's still pretty cool," she assured the fossil, eyes now on the puddle he'd created. "Right now all I can do is blow a few bubbles." To demonstrate she puffed out her cheeks before she blew out a stream of bubbles that floated a few inches before popping harmlessly. One day.. one she'd learn Bubblebeam. Brooke turned her attention back to Annie. "Maybe if you get another one of those things you'll get even stronger! Strong enough to defeat a Torterra. or even Dialga!" She doubted he knew what those pokemon were---well maybe Dialga, because... who didn't know who or what Dialga was---but to her those were certainly powerfully strong pokemon and great feats to accomplish.
"Did I see anything interesting?" Brooke repeated the question and tapped her chin. "I saw this really great lake, I even swam in it," she reported, but then puffed out her chest. "Of course, it's nothing compared to Lake Verity. It's huuuuuge, and I swam in it. I did three laps in five minutes."

Ace kept up a steady jog as they went through the forest, hoping his even speed would either allow him to find clues faster or at least convince PJ that he knew where he was going; only an idiot would run aimlessly ahead, right? It was relatively quiet throughout the forest, with only his own breathing and the sound of PJ's paws on the ground to break the silence. It was only when his chest began to ache and his breathing became labored did he come to a wobbly stop, his eyes scanning quickly over the forest floor to check for any pine needles or leaves before he sat down. "L-let's... let's take a break for now," he suggested in between breaths.

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet continued to ignore the monkey and walk away, though not at a fast pace. She wasn't going to completely dismiss him-- but as it were, she couldn't hope to get him. There was no point in trying. It was a waste of time and energy, energy that could otherwise go towards training. At least until he became more vulnerable. Maybe if she could lure him a little lower, she turn and try again... but she would have to be careful. The same trick likely wouldn't work twice, so she would only get one shot. And if she missed it... she'd have to probably wait even longer, or come up with another plan. For now, though, she kept one ear turned, just slightly, so it wasn't noticeable, trying to listen for his movements.

Annie the Anorith
Annie seemed to smile (probably) in pride as Brooke praised his metal claw attack. He blinked when she said his other attack was still pretty good, looking at the bubbles she then produced. "I dunno," he commented, watching one and lifting a claw to gently pop it, "I think yours is more fun." He looked back at her as she mentioned some pokemon, perking up. He recognized Dialga... he wasn't sure about the other. "I will defeat... ALL POKEMON!" he proclaimed, lifting his claws up victoriously. The very monotonous expression that limited his expressive range made it seem... very likely he was not being seriously. He scuttled back down and folded his arms under him as he looked to Brooke, awaiting her grand tails of adventure.
He nestled his head down on his claws, looking at her with big eyes, but lifted himself up as she finished. "That sounds fast," he commented. That didn't seem to be what struck him the most. He lifted a claw up. "That means you can swim, though, right? I wonder if I can swim... Can you teach me to swim?" he inquired. it always seemed so fun to him...

The growlithe followed his charmander companion as they headed into the trees. He didn't seem to be having quite as much trouble keeping his pace as his companion, though-- but then again, he was running on four legs, not two. He set the bag down, smiling and giving a nod. "Okay!" he agreed, tail wagging a bit. He trotted and sat down closer to Ace, looking at him curiously. "You haven't done a lot of training, have you? But you still look like you're pretty tough. Least... stronger than me," he commented, smiling lightly as he tilted his head to the side. "Are you planning to evolve sometime?"

However, the young Pansear followed along, sure that was where his potential friend was going. Striker wasn't giving up on her because he really had fun messing with her. For now though, he was playing it safe and sticking to the beams and posts where she couldn't reach.

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet continued on her way, growing angrier that the pokemon wasn't making himself more vulnerable. Tsk, fine. Whatever. She neared the treadmill and finally turned, glowering back at him. "Why are you following me?" she asked irritably, jumping back onto the treadmill. She shifted her weight, then turned it on, starting on a walk, then a long-legged trot. The whole time, her eyes remained on him. Why was he wasting her time? Why was he wasting his? She wasn't going to bother trying if he made it impossible, and she wasn't going to bother going back if there was no chance of success. This was all so... ridiculous. At least for her. To an onlooker, it might actually be rather amusing.

Unfortunately, it seemed she was watching him just as carefully, so the Pansear didn't get another chance to torment her...until now...maybe...if he did this right. At her question, the young Pansear chuckled and shook his butt at her playfully. "Because you're fun to mess with," he replied, answering honestly, "I like that...We're gunna be friends."

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet frowned. "I don't become friends with pokemon that waste my time and theirs," she growled. She continued her jog, lowering her gaze to the ground, but keeping him well within her sights. "Especially mine. Go away. Find a friend somewhere else. I don't have any interest in it." She was pretty sure that if she needed to, she could lose the pokemon, She could always go somewhere where there weren't any beams, or anything high at all, like the lake. That was a fairly flat area, and even with the waterfall at one end, and the rocky climb to the top, she could always stay towards the other end. Then he'd either have to come down into danger... or finally leave her alone. And she was sure that she could find a way to train even without the equipment.

-]Striker didn't answer, just continued to grin. There was something off about his expression, as though he were trying to unsettle the Houndour with his lack of response. The young Pansear continued to creep closer, close enough to the point where he could jump onto the treadmill from his high vantage point. And jump he did, however he wasn't aiming to land on Violet's back again, like she may or may not have been expecting. No, he jumped right onto the treadmill's speed increase control, still flashing that wicked grin.

Violet watched, but didn't seem to respond to his unnerving smile. She just stared at him. Stared as she ran, continuing her jog. If Striker was watching, though, he would notice that halfway on his fall, her whole posture changed, her stride shortened up, and just as he landed-- she lunged at him full force and full speed. Had she been expecting him to jump on the treadmill? No. She didn't care, though. She'd been watching him carefully. Once it looked like he was about to jump, she began preparing herself. Once his feet left his perch, she engaged the motor program, readied, and unleashed her fury the moment he was within range. There was a reason she wasn't unnerved by that grin-- she was too angry and annoyed to be bothered. And she was, after all, a pokemon that trained. A lot.

-]The young Pansear didn't pay that much attention to the Houndour that he was tormenting, because he wasn't all that disciplined. He wasn't ready for her when she lunged. He was snagged out of the air and tubled across the grass with her. Somehow, he wasn't quite sure how, Striker ended up back on Violet's back and grabbed onto her scruff for dear life.

Violet lunged and pinned the Pansear down, her paws firmly digging into his shoulders as best she could. Her eyes flashed and she snapped her teeth, but she kept just shy of biting his face. She pulled back, sneering down at him with her claws out but not quite digging into his fur. Then... she smirked. She gave him a long stare, then carefully stepped off, eying him from the side, and ready to dodge if he tried to retaliated. "There, now leave me alone," she ordered, the smirk disappearing as she turned, leaping onto the treadmill and slowing it to a more manageable pace. "Or at least stop wasting my time. Otherwise I'll start using you as a chew toy to work on my bites."

-]Striker was quite unaccustomed to being taken down and manhandled in such a way. However, finding out the hard way that this Houndour was clearly able to easily outmaneuver him earned Violet the Pansear's respect. He gazed up at her, unblinking, and only got up after she let him up. Striker didn't seem daunted by her comments in the least. "I don't think I will, leave," he said, "You're more fun than any of the other pokemon I've known..." It was clear from the monkey's tone that he was no longer mocking her.

Violet growled a bit, picking up her lope on the treadmill. She slid her gaze over to him, narrowing her eyes and frowning at his remark. "Teh..." She threw her gaze up, but lifted her head, continuing her trek. "Fine, but you should at least train, if you're going to stick around," she muttered, frowning at him, "Tune up and put those skills of yours sto use or something..." He did, after all, have some skills. Not that she really wanted to flatter the monkey, but his maneuverability was... well, she wouldn't say it, but it was good. He probably had potential. He had managed to evade her for a while, after all.

Brooke gave her version of a smile--which was quite the sight considering that she actually didn't have any lips--at the compliment to her move. She even went out of her way to stand up and give a curtsey, "why thank you, dear sir." She sat back down after that, a contemplatively amused look crossing over her face at Annie's bold claim. "Well, I wish you good luck!" It only occurred to her afterwards that 'all pokemon' included her as well, and if so... "Wait, do you mean every single pokemon in the world or every species of pokemon?" she inquired with a tip of the head, now quite curious.
It didn't take much, however, for the subject to change and Brooke to grow excited. "It was fast," she confirmed stoically. To his request she rubbed her chin sagely, her eyes narrowing as she appraised him. "Yes, I can." Suddenly, and without warning, she shot her fin out into the air and arched it. "You shall be... my pupil!"

Grateful for the slight respite, Ace just barely held back the urge to begin panting.... and when that failed his new objective became to try and not pant too loudly. With a wary look over to PJ he took note of their proximity, but since they weren't actually touching he didn't comment. "Hm?" He blinked and before he could stop himself he looked over his body curiously, "Uhm, well thank you! And, no.. not really, just a lot of walking." Ace smiled uncertainly over at his friend. "Yeah! I.. I think so at least! I..I want to.. it'd definitely be nice." He stopped only when he realized he'd begun to realize, and after clearing his throat he turned a curious gaze to PJ. "What about you... Can... can you even evolve?" He didn't know too much about PJ's species, heck he didn't even know what his species was called.

-]Well, the Houndour didn't leap off the treadmill and attack him again, so that was a good sign. Striker grinned, glad that he had gotten through to Violet, and already considering her a friend despite whether it was mutual or not. At her suggestion, he glanced back over at her and asked, "Ohhh, skills huh? So how do you suggest I do that?"
Viola tossed an annoyed glance at the sky and scoffed. She kept up her trot, turning to look at him. "Gee, I don't know. Maybe try doing something?" she replied sarcastically. She dropped her head a bit, looking ahead. "You could do the treadmill. You could do pushups or pull ups or practice your agility with that obstacle course. You are in a training area, you know," she added more seriously, still sounding a bit annoyed, but at least.... slightly less so.

Annie gave a nod to her thanks and curtsy, folding his claws. He looked at her curiously then tipped his... head/body thoughtfully at her question. He lifted his claw to tap his... chin. "Hmm... Whichever has the least amount of pokemon!" he decided, giving a nod, "So.... prolly every species! Maybe I should start with just one type, though..." He seemed to consider this a moment, then gave what appeared to be a shrugging motion.
Indeed, his attention seemed to redirect as they discussed swimming, as well. He perked up a bit as she gave her answer, then pumped a fin in the air. "Okay!" he agreed quite compliantly, similarly raising a claw in the air, apparently mimicking the gesture. She was his teacher now, after all! He should probably do what she did.

"I bet!" he remarked energetically, "I think I've seen some of your evolutions, they look cool!" He quirked his head when he asked if he could evolve, but straightened, puffing his chest out a bit, not so much in a proud way, but in a manner to bring his shoulders back and straighten up. His tail wagged behind him. "Yeah! I can evolve! My evolution is a lot bigger than I am, too! I need a stone for it, though... and I want to train before I evolve!" he answered. He stood up, shaking a bit. "You ready to continue walking?" he asked happily.
