Martino let out an impressed whistle, eyebrows rising as well at the quick swipes and jabs the woman made. His mouth fixed to an eager grin as she explained he and the others were going to team up and take to pummeling each other black and blue. Well, not that badly, but Martino, hardly being a fighter, guessed that was what he'd be after this little session. As he sought out his sparring partner, his chartreuse eyes landed on the female that saluted to him, and he clumsily returned it. "Ah, hola," he muttered, moving his fist from his chest and extending it to give her a shake. "Martino Velazquez. And I guess I'm yours... So, should we begin, si?"

Rin took Martino's hand in her own and nodded. Separating from the other trainee, she dropped into the stance Ervette had used, with slight differences in form - she had never actually fought anyone before, and nervousness dominated her thoughts. What if she wasn't good enough, and they kicked her out? She closed her eyes and took a few calming breaths. There was no point in overthinking it at this point. She just had to go and copy what Ervette had shown them to the best of her ability. Opening her eyes, she lunged at Martino, attacking with a quick punch.

Saoirse tried to take a step back but was to slow and winced, taking a step back to keep from being knocked over as the attack connected with her stomach. Coughing a bit she fixed her stance and watched the other girl for a few moments before she aimed a punch at the other girl’s side. Attacking the stomach would be too obvious since it was where had had just been hit, or so she assumed anyways so attacking from the side seemed like the best choice. The excitement she had felt earlier at the idea of training faded as she became more focused on the fight.

Martino grunted a bit at the impact of bare knuckles against the sleeve of his shoulder. He was expecting it, considering this was a sparring session, but he couldn't help reflexively cupping the area and wincing. Glancing to Rin with an awkward smile, he said, "Nice shot, amiga," with a small huff. He wasn't, in the long run, interested in returning a strike at all, but that's how the lessons went, unfortunately. Extending a balled fist, he delivered the same action acted on him. There was some hesitance behind the punch, however; Martino really had no desire to hurt anyone.

At Yesenia's words, Jaime felt a hot wave of anger and his pulse quickened. So, she was not interested in sparring with him. To be fair, Jaime had not been all that interested in sparring with her either but that was more on general principle. He disliked conflict. He hated fighting. She, on the other hand, seemed to have a problem with him specifically. He was not 'Malia' therefore he was not worth her time. Well... that was kind of really ******** irritating.
Jaime's jaw clenched. Against his will, his fingers curled into fists. “Our victory against the titans rides on the training we receive here and you just wanna 'screw around'?” He glared at Yesenia through basilisk eyes. True, he had been doubting the purpose of the exercise himself just moments before but that did not mean that there was no reason for it. After all, he was inexperienced. How could he judge what might be important later on? How could any of them? Yesenia's blatant disregard for authority ticked Jaime off. Mostly though, he was still annoyed at how she had dismissed him.
“Try again,” Jaime said, turning his back. He walked a few paces until there was a little less than six feet between them. Then he spun to face her, fists raised. “If you're not going, I will,” he warned. “Get ready,” A second later he moved.
He darted in, swinging his right fist towards her ribs. Then he attempted to duck around her right side to avoid a return attack. At the same time he swung his leg out in a low sweeping arc towards Yesenia's ankles, hoping to exploit her height and topple her. It was not proper technique, he knew, and certainly nothing the instructor had demonstrated, but Jaime didn't care. He could never control his temper.

Urf! I'm sorry that this is so late! This past week has been really busy for me with extra work shifts, as well auditions, callbacks, and the usual school work. Anyway, the attacks can connect or not—sometimes I just find it easier to write out combat as a list rather than wait for every single reaction to determine the next move.

Amalia frowned slightly as Saiorse was unable to dodge the attack she had just thrown at her, but said nothing. As the other girl rushed at her, she stepped to the side, mitigating a lot of the force of the punch, but not all of it. She lashed out with a kick as she moved, hoping to sweep the other trainee off her feet.

As Martino cupped his shoulder, Rin's eyes went wide. "I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" She hadn't meant to hit him that hard. Too busy fretting about her own attack, she didn't pay any attention to the one headed for her. The blow collided with her shoulder, but there wasn't too much force behind it, so she merely stumbled back. Dropping back into the stance, she gathered her resolve and went in for another attack, swinging (softer this time) at the man's stomach.

Yesenia frowned as Jaime glared at her. "What crawled up your a**, man?" She sighed and shook her head, tucking her thumbs in between her skirt and pants as the man spoke, hardly listening. Man, all she wanted was to have fun. She didn't come here worried about the titans - they were safely behind the walls, and nothing was going to change that. She kicked absentmindedly at a small rock at her feet. She looked up just in time to see the other trainee closing on her to deliver a punch to her ribs. She was too busy stumbling back from the "surprise" attack to mount any kind of counter offensive. And then she was falling, her feet having been swept out from under her. She landed hard on her back, and she just laid there for a moment, staring at the sky, and sighed. Closing her eyes, she shook her head, feeling the dirt grinding into her hair. "Pain in the a**."
Sitting up, she looked up at the other trainee standing over her and kicked at his shin.

With combat training behind them, and perhaps a few lessons learned Ervette had a new task come the next morning for her trainees. Already down by the arena, she noticed familiar faces beginning to make their appearances, the female instructor flashed those present a large grin. “Welcome Trainees to week two of your survival training! Of all the things I could impart to you, the knowledge on how to ride should be something you go out of your way to really get acquainted with.” Her gaze shifted across the various faces before she smiled suddenly.
“When you are ready, I would like you to pick from the horses present. For those of you newer to riding, you may do laps along the outer edge of the arena. You will be walking along the track in a big circle. I expect to see at least a couple laps if you aren't hurdle jumping!" The green haired instructor gave pause, patting at the horse closest to her as she continued her directions.
"For those of you who are a more experienced rider, I have a course setup at the center you may test yourself against. Please make sure to grab my attention if you have no clue how to ride, we’ll get you started with some basic walking if need be.” With that the woman took a step back making every horse present available to the waiting line of bodies. "Don't be shy, if you need a moment with your horse try grooming them first. Otherwise let your horses out, hop on up in the saddle and lets get started shall we?" She seemed excited, urging her trainees into action.

How does your horses personality effect your riding? Take into consideration your trainee's skill level, and the results of your ride check when adding these modifiers into your replies!
• Spirited horses give you a -1 to your ride check rolls
• Cranky horses give you a -3 to your ride check rolls

• Social horses give you a +3 to your ride check rolls
• Aloof horses give no bonuses.

• If you have experience as a rider (say a farm hand for example) you may add +1 to your rolls. No experience will not result in a penalty however.
Now Beginning, Week Two: Riding
Your Tasks:
• Players will roll a 1d6 in order to determine the type of horse they will be riding! Refer to the selection above on the horse type personalities. Players will need to properly mount their horses, and coax them out onto the field for riding practice.
• You will then make a second post using a 2d8 in order to determine your actual riding course success following the hurdles. The second dice along with modifiers has to beat the first number in order to successfully jump a hurdle. Do this at least 3 or more times (success or fail).
• As this is primarily a game, there will be no word minimum requirement.
• When you are done, you may rp with each other if you wish!
• If by some weird chance you are RPing out your horse interaction with some one, and you roll the same horse in your initial post I would advice you pretend it' another horse that just happens to have the same temperament!
• CLARIFICATION. You only need to do this 3 times in order to pass, even if you don't make your jumps! Any extra is for fun. You may also quote me for interactions with the instructor.
• As always if needed, you may PM me!
• If you need to RP week 1 still please label it at the top, otherwise please proceed into week 2.

Rin looked closely at the horse she had been assigned. She'd never ridden a horse before, but this one seemed really excited, at least compared to the other horses. She reached a calming hand out and placed it on the horse's side before climbing on and gripping the reins, thankfully before it took off.

Rin leaned forward as the horse rushed forward, trying to figure out how to make the horse jump the hurdle. Thankfully, the horse was so excited to be ridden that it jumped over the hurdle without being told to.

Yesenia rested her head on Amalia's shoulder, much to the green haired girl's chagrin. "Hey, Malia!" Shaking the other girl off, Amalia sighed. "What." On the course, a short haired girl was clinging to an extremely excited horse desperately as it plowed through hurdle after hurdle. "Horse riding looks fun, huh!" Shifting her gaze to Yesenia, the dark skinned girl shook her head. "Not really." The braided girl was taken aback. "Whaaaaaaat?? Just look at how much fun that lady is having!" "Help meeeeeeee!" The short haired woman shouted for help as Yesenia laughed. Hanging her head, Amalia decided not to consider the conversation and went to her horse.
The horse stared at her with big eyes, but did nothing as she approached. Amalia got on the horse and gripped the reins before willing the horse onto the course.

Ignoring the fact that she had just barely missed the last hurdle, Amalia sent the horse toward the third one. The horse leapt over it with astounding ease, making the earlier miss look like a complete fluke.
