Scythe's tails suddenly stopped swishing as he turned his head to glare at Lee “I think you mean Vulpine” he said stressing the word as much as possible; the fox looked around unsure of the correct action to take until Lee suggested creating more rain “Sure I can do that!” Scythe began chanting but stopped almost immediately to Vash’s yelling “Do it, don’t do it; make up your minds!” he said exasperated; but a moment later this was forgotten as Vash started talking about poker... “Flush! Royal! Chip!” the fox yelled along with Vash throwing his arms up in the air; Lee’s clothes promptly fell on Scythe an instantly later leaving the Fox’s muzzle poking out from under a coat “What happened?” hearing Someone run past him away from the crowd Scythe followed them at speed; shifting the coat off of his eyes as he went towards a large purple tent; Scythe gazed at it curiously as they came closer “Ya know...this tent would make a great cloak...”

Solaire shakes his head and looks Kratos in the eyes...maybe. Hard to tell with the helmet.

"You misunderstand, my friend. Black phantoms can't be reasoned with. Where we come from, undead, like myself, are immortal. When we die, we come back...but with lessened humanity. Restoring that humanity can be a difficult experience, and if we die too many times without doing so, we become hollows...nothing but husks of life that attack anything. Some undead prefer to, instead of gaining back their humanity by aiding others, simply invade the world of a healthy undead and kill them, pilfering theirs. While this world is different, I doubt any black phantoms that arrive here will care. They will show up, see what looks to them like several healthy undead, and attack. If you see a phantom with a red glow, do not hesitate to slay them!"

Rhone raises an eyebrow and looks over at Solaire.

"Hollows?...you're not gonna turn into one of those and attack us, are you?"

Solaire laughs in what sounds like both a jubilant and creepy tone.

"You can relax, friend. Though I am undead, I am nowhere close to hollow. In fact, I have yet to die in my own world."

"Your own world?"

"Oh, yes. If I die in phantom form, I just get sent back to my world, safe and sound. I could even be re-summoned if I leave another sign. Here, I am nothing but an ally to you all. I am safe to keep around, I assure you."

Zaul blinked, inwardly astonished at witnessing Soul's shapeshifting, but made no further reaction as there was no room to make remarks for now. Jade withheld his intrigue as well, nothing but a subtle smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

At the others' questions, Zaul reflexively reached for his pack to pull out his map, only to find it not there. "Aw sunuva...ah left th' map in there...with my things 'n clean under..." he muttered under his breath, trailing off. His face turned a bit red out of embarrassment as he continued to pat down his person to check for his other necessities, sighing in relief as he affirmed he still had a few vital things in his possession in the compartments of his utility belt. 'Least ah still have my money n' a few medicines n' knives...ah can still hunt fer food...

After those few silent pauses of thought, he spoke up, "But yeah, yer right, Krystal. Luin's th' next town over, but..." he turned his stare back to the shadow-covered village, "...judgin' by that size n' spread, ah'm afraid it's very likely it's extended as far as there too."

"I recall seeing a 'Tower of Mana' located nearby Luin. What sort of place is that?" asked Jade.

"Ah was actually gonna get t' that, as it's th' next best bet t' take th' people. It's actually a ruin, an ancient deserted library. It ain't exactly ideal livin' quarters, but as its name suggests, th' place has a high concentration o' mana. Legends say it's 'cause a Summon Spirit once dwelled there."

There was another silent pause. Jade thought Zaul was going to elaborate further, but it seemed to have slipped his mind. Adjusting his glasses out of habit, he spoke up, "Hm. Is it correct of me to assume that this 'mana' counteracts these shadows?"

"Oh! R-right." He had forgotten for a moment that the concept of mana would not be too familiar to these foreigners. "Yeah, it's an energy that's purty much th' lifeblood o' this world."

Jade was further intrigued at this revelation. Assumptions about this world and the relationship between mana and the energies the shadows were made of began to swim in his mind. But, this was neither the time nor the place to sit and dwell on these thoughts. "Well, we mustn't dilly-dally. Let's begin leading the people to the Tower of Mana."

"Yeah," Zaul agreed, nodding. "Krystal, Maka...heh, Soul? Looks like there's enough here. Here's th' plan: y'all can claim a velocidragon and we'll surround th' people as we're escortin' them. That way we got all sides covered in case there're any threats comin' near th' crowd 'long th' way." He looked in the direction of the dragon tamer, "That ain't gon' be a problem, right, uh..."

"B-Bill," he stuttered, still visibly shaken over the whole ordeal, "It's Bill. Y-yeah, I have no objections." He managed a nod.

"If it's what we have to do, it's what we have to do." Yoko said, noticing Maiku's disappearance as well, "I'll do just about anything to get somewhere warmer. I'm sure this place is beautiful when you mean to be here, but when you just get dumped here from a beach it's a little uncomfortable." She still hadn't even figured out how she'd ended up in her old combat clothes. She was wearing her teaching outfit the whole day, and yet when she arrived in this place it was back to the bikini and shorts she'd worn fighting the beastmen...



"You've been to one of the corrupted areas?" Cross asked, his attention snapping to the white haired woman. The display before him was jovial, certainly, and he'd been amused by such acts in the past, before his duties became his only concern. Now this woman was claiming to have the exact knowledge he was looking for, and he needed to know what she knew in order to fight this threat and stabilize this world.

Sophie tilted her head at Natalia's and Arlin's conversation, Psy lookin up at her in curiosity. She seemed as innocent as a child, but she didn't look any younger than a teenager. Sophie intrigued him. "What's...sushi?"






Being carried like he was, Daermod was able to see the two that were accompanying him and Ankoko. It looked like they were communicating through telepathy. Daermod had done so with Ankoko before when he was stuck in his sword, but it wasn't so easy anymore. Getting back to Issun and Daemorai, he saw that Issun looked worried. What was being said between the two? The world drifter was curious now. "Everything okay? You're not still worried about Ankoko, are you? He's harmless~." "Unless you give me a reason to be...." "Shush."

With Pascal at the helm of her adorable mech, she sent salvos of missiles at the horde of velocidragons before it ended in a fiery explosion. Tossed back from the blast, she got up as quickly as she fell, brushing off some debris. "Woo-hoo! Sure am glad I can summon my mechs!" Pascal's eyes returned to Serenity, who sent her Time Wizard to attack some monsters. Oddly enough, sweet Serenity gave Pascal the most befuddled look. In turn, she gave a cheery grin, "No worries. I get tossed around so much that it doesn't even bother me."

As Lord and Gilgamesh spoke about dungeons and what could be found in them, Dart had his attention to Lloyd as he pulled out the two maps of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla. He gently took them, noticing how worn they looked. "You've done alot of traveling, haven't you? Were you on some sort of journey?" He asked curiously. His eyes then widen in shock as he examined the maps closely. Something wasn't right at all. "Oh no..." He murmured. "I don't know any of these places at all. You don't have a map of Endiness at all?" There was a tone of concern and worry in his voice. None of the places on the two maps were any that he recognize. It would seem that he somehow ended up in a different world. With that fact had him grow even more worried for Shana. He needed to get back to the Moon That Never Set as soon as possible. Frowning, he looked to Lloyd. "You mentioned that the layout of the world is completely different. What did you mean by that?"

It would seem that Tear wasn't the only one who was fascinated with Teepo, yet the silver-haired woman looked as though she wanted to study the doll. However, the moment had passed when Mamizou asked for the woman's name and had questioned the plant she brought. After Raine had introduced herself, there was something that caught Tear's attention. The plant she brought was found near a corrupted area. Perhaps this woman could help them learn more about these shadows? "We're actually hoping to learn more about these shadows as well. If it's not too much on you, could you tell us what you know about them?" She asked in a calm tone. She wanted to ask Raine about mana, yet she decided against it for a while. She didn't want to raise suspicion about being from other world. For now, she would prefer to stick with using a book. Hearing Elize and Alvin questioning about the shadows, she glanced over to them. "It would seem that there are certain areas that are being covered by shadows filled with evil energy. We've asked the researcher regarding these areas, yet it would seem they didn't have any luck figuring out the source of these shadows. They mentioned that those who get caught end up poisoned by this evil energy, yet they can recover by exposure to mana."

Maka and Soul looked at Zaul as he explained things and laid out his plan. Maka had no problem with it, but Soul did. "I'm not getting on one of those things. For all we know, they could turn on us any minute." "Knock it off, Soul. Just get on one until we get to the tower, okay?" Soul growled before looking at the dragon closest to him. It let out a burst of flame to mimic the teen's sour attitude towards them. Maka laughed a little. "They're like horses." Going over to one, Maka mounted and patted the dragon's scaled neck. Soul followed her lead, but the dragons weren't particularly happy to have him around. "Deal with it....I don't like you either."









Maiku had managed to find an elderly couple who needed help with some chores, and they offered him gald if he helped so they could help him with his boat situation. He helped with their dishes, cooking, and organizing. Nothing he didn't do at home on a daily basis. When he was done, they gave him a stuffed coin bag of golden coins, presumably the gald, and Maiku thanked them. He actually felt there was way too much gald, but he...didn't have it in him to say anything. "Looks like there's more than enough to bribe or get myself on a ship....Wonder how much a weapon costs." He could worry about that later, though. Hopefully.
