Arian tried to not let it deter him as more people walked past the stall. He'd managed to sell over a 1/5 of the cupcakes so far - and over 1/5 sounded a lot better than 13.

And it wasn't as bad as the earlier dry sales patch, Arian mused to himself as a woman in a red coat bought a cupcake - he was picking up sales here and there.

A few more minutes later Arian was able to sell a couple more cupcakes and the dark-haired teen set himself another private target. This time round he was going to try for 25 cupcakes - he was nearly to 20 cupcakes after all.

Arian promised himself that next time he does a bake sale like this, he'll bring some books along with him so he has something to do in the lulls. In the meantime he makes do with sipping some of his new lemonade.

Whilst he was taking a lemonade break, a young girl came up to admire the cupcakes. Arian listened to her chatter until her mother came over and to his surprise the girl's mother picked up two cupcakes.

It was still quiet so Arian re-arranged the cupcakes some more. If he could sell 4 more cupcakes then he would have managed to sell half the cupcakes available to him - not too bad a result.

The lull continued, but Arian reckoned that he could shift at least 4 more cupcakes - he just needed to be positive - and smile a lot. Something he felt he'd been doing all day.
