Janis leaned her face against his hooved foot, glad for the comforting gesture. He was doing so much for her. Lately she'd been rather useless.
She had just finished sun bathing a bit so she didn't feel like doing that again for a bit. But a swim would be good, just to keep her muscles strong. It wasn't good to lazy about too much, even if her belly weighed her down.
"Would you mind going swimming? It been awhile. I'd love to paddle around a bit with you."

"I'll probably have to pull you along, since you may sink to the bottom, yet I can definitely do that." Cornelius stated. He stuck out his neck and let his tongue come out and lick her on the face. He then let his tongue slide down her neck and pulled it back before saying, "Sorry, I tend to get carried away, but I'm really up to have some very personal time with you."

Janis chuckled at the statement. "I'm carrying eggs, not rocks. I'm sure well float." she teased back.
She smiled as his "kissed" her in the dragon fashion. However her breathing hitched a little as he went a little farther. She looked at him half surprised and half pleased. Though she wasn't sure if she should be irritated my his action.
Yet, she couldn't deny that she loved any attention he could give lately. Quite a difference from when they started out.
"NO." she said nuzzling his. "I understand. It's just hard to do anything now that I'm... well. Massive."

Cornelius smiled at her with a toothy dragon grin and said in a cocky manner, "I suppose you can float since you're carrying my eggs after all, and you're the kind of dragon you are. Other dragons would sink like rocks in the water, if we knew any."

"Anyway," he added as he felt her head against his neck, "let's get you out on the water and then we might be able to tell how big you've gotten. Our "pool" if you want to call it that is a pretty decent size. If you're not taking up at least half of it with your new body, well, then you can't be that big and I will be able to properly swim with you."

He hugged her belly with his scaly arms and wondered if it might be possible for his children to hear or feel their parents now. He posed this question the Janis and asked, "Have you ever felt our children move within their eggs before? It's probably extremely hard to tell since there are two layers between them and the outside world, your wonderful belly and each of their individual egg shells."

Janis nodded. "I'm sure they can hear us, but I can't feel them." she said, a little sad that she couldn't. "But I bet that we will hear them moving around once I lay my eggs. How long will it be before they hatch anyway." she asked.
She was already walking to the area with there pool as she asked. Her gate had become a short of shuffle now that she belly had swelled more. She couldn't wait until it was time. She grew tired rather quickly as of late.

Cornelius led her into the water and as he did he told her, "I think they would likely take a week and no more. You've held them inside your belly they should be fully developed little pups."

(Hey, would you like to do another time skip again? I know you've been kind of busy, so perhaps we should hasten this along a little again so that it doesn't stall.)

Janis slipped into the cool cavern pool slowly. She smiled at him. "I can't wait to see their cute faces." she said.
The pool wasn't as deep or anywhere near as large as the lake, but there was enough room for both her and Cornelius to paddle around comfortably. Swimming in the still pool was easy and she was glad of that. If she got tired the edge was only a few feet away.
"I think it's easier to swim with them than it is too walk." she joked as she gently swam back and forth.

(We can. I'm sorry I've waited so long. I'll try not to be so lazy. ^^; )

Cornelius led herby the hand around the pool for some time. A good thirty minutes before saying, "In this water, I've come to realize you're quite buoyant." He smiled at her and rubbed the big scales on her her belly thinking aloud, "Have we officially named our children and do we know their genders? We should find out soon if possible."

Janis nodded. "I've thought of quite a few names for both girls and boys. I think we talked quite a bit. But I don't know how we would go about finding their genders. DO you think it would be easier to tell once there out of me?" she asked.
She got out of the water, tired not from swimming. She laid down beside the ripping water. She turned to nuzzle Cornelius a little as he rubbed her round abdomen.

As Cornelius rubbed her bell he shook his head no and said, "I'm really not sure how we can determine their genders. If they're inside eggs, well, they'll need to hatch first." As his hooves scratched over the surface of her scaly belly he noticed how hard they were and because of this was very glad Janis had become a dragon. It meant extra safety for their little ones and less strain on her.

Noticing her belly's size though he asked, "You've gained a lot of weight recently. Do you think it's time for them to be born yet?"

"I don't know." she said. "I'm hoping so. I feel so tired lately." she said. The rubbing was indeed making her sleepy. "It could be any day now. Any day."
She yawned and forced herself to stand up. "I want to go check the nest again."

Cornelius moved aside and decided to follow Janis back to the nest. She was so big now he did not want her to trip anywhere or on anything. He smiled as he followed her. "I'll help you get to sleep. If you're tired that is and sleep next to you to make sure nothing goes wrong."

Janis walked into the warm room and sighed. "That would be great. I feel like I'm going crazy. Everything in here is perfect, but I can't help fussing. I try not to, but... Nothing will go wrong right? It'll be okay?" she asked, laying down in her nest, smoothing out the area around her. It was definitely soft and warm.

"Nothing will go wrong," Cornelius promised as he sat down next to Janis and lay his body next to hers. "Dragons actually have safer births at times than humans. All you have to do is sit and wait, seriously, I think if dragons are much like birds are then you'll just need to warm up your eggs a week or so after you lay them and we'll have little dragons running around. The only problem we'll probably face from there is their ability to tear through everything. They'll be a lot like puppies, so we need to make sure they don't eat something they shouldn't."

Cornelius laughed as he remembered his mother having told him this information a while back. He wished she was still around. She would have been quite happy.

Janis chuckled at his comparison. "Then I think we are going to have our hands full." he replied. She cuddled close and closed her eyes. "I can't wait though." he mumbled as she drifted to sleep.

It was a couple of day later that Janis awoke from another similar nap because of a strand feeling. She hadn't really wandered far from the nursery for the past week. She didn't feel she should and now she knew why. Pains in her abdominal area and lower back had awaken her. She felt it several times, off and on.
She woke Cornelius. "I think it's time." she said. She grunted as her suddenly broke.
