Oh yes, this was going downhill very quickly.
Surprisingly, despite Invictus' sudden temper, Eris' had quelled almost completely with that initial spark of fire she had lit on Shun's jacket, watching him pat it out with the same amused little grin she had given him before. That, it seemed, was enough -- her posture had completely relaxed, that nonchalant look about her returning as she listened quietly. The black wings at her sides flicked a little as the heir of Conquest suddenly increased the gravity around the little group, forcing a few of them to their knees, but otherwise she seemed completely unbothered by the fact, as if they had done it on their own. She didn't seem to even notice it, here eyes merely following the male reaper's down as he was suddenly brought to his knees. Even his irritation didn't register on her radar, her own voice suddenly honey-sweet.
"Clever boy," she replied, seeming to approve of his answer, "I can't fault you for that... if there were any indication you were a hunter, you would be char broiled and roasting on a spit." The last part came out as an almost a hiss, temper flaring up momentarily as the reminder that they had not, in fact, found any hunters bubbled to the surface, her entire body going rigid, as if she were about to go through some sort of monster-like transformation. It took quite a few minutes for her to relax again, with far less ease than she had before, despite how a few fires she began to ignite, this time at her own fingertips. Red and yellow flame licked at her fingers and palms where they were folded neatly at her elbows, the skin of the tips and her arms starting to turn first an angry red, then a black where the skin charred, but Eris seemed to barely notice it. The fire did not dissipate as Riyo spoke either, although her eyes did slide from the reaper to her, gait relaxing a little more. Even Hel's angry tone didn't make things worse, at least, although she looked unamused. Perhaps it was the distraction.
"You're making him angry."
Pursing her lips at Hel, War's eyebrows knotted a bit further in a dark look, not particularly dangerous but certainly not welcoming. A warning, although perhaps a hard to distinguish one. The damage, however, had been done. Tilting her head to the side, Eris looked over at Invictus with a mild look, watching as he clenched his fist and feeling the gravity change. As if counterbalancing the effects on the students, the folds of her dress on the dirt floated slightly off the ground, licking at her ankles like the fire did her fingertips. "Vicky," she said in a sympathetic tone, as if to calm him down. She let her gaze linger on him for a few seconds before returning it to Hel, whether he had calmed or not.
"Clever, quite clever. I like you~" she crooned to Shun, clearly entertained by his rightful assumptions, "That was the plan, yes -- we came here in search of them, not you," she replied, tone guardedly neutral. Dangerous, for a horseman who thrived on a volatile element, "And we will not end you, sweetness. Unless you give us good reason." Her expression relaxed just a little at Riyo's twitching, head tilting a little sympathetically. Perhaps it was respect garnering respect. Or perhaps, a little less sanely considering the ears, it was because it reminded her of a skittish horse. It was hard to tell.
"Not quite useless. They are, however, stronger than the average Amityville student," she replied after a moment, considering what the male reaper had said, "Their weapons are of our descent... tends to significantly reduce the effectiveness of our FEAR. It's like fighting one of your own -- you can't really kill another Amityville student, can you?"

Invictus seemed receptive to Eris's 'attempt' to calm him, looking to her with a look that somehow seemed calmer than the one he gave to the students. His eyes flickered back to Hel when she spoke. Was she trying to end her group? Quite possibly so based on the darkening around Conquest's eyes. It seemed almost like he was glaring at her without actually glaring.
"Listen to your comrades, girl." he seemed to speak carefully, but there was a purposeful slip of the human tongue into his words. He'd heard much of how the humans spoke. Humans were disgusting, their language was almost archaic to him - yet he knew it all. For him to use such a word was, with context, spiteful. "Why should we have come running to your aid when we have our own task to seek and destroy? Would you rather we save you from your failures or prevent what could very well destroy everything?" His question was one he seemed inclined to not receive an answer to.
His tone, however, would be the clearest it ever read; Stand against me again and I will crush you.
As Eris spoke, Invictus's head turned to listen, his lips tightening in a very distinguishable expression - one of few. He did not speak up to correct her - and for Invictus accuracy was very important, even if she wasn't really answering the question given.
"You stood against us because you believed we were a threat not only to you, but your comrades. The weapons will do just that for their wielders. They are protected for a short time from your weapons. You cannot kill them without strategy or simple brute strength." It had to be the only explanation behind it - otherwise the hunters would have been obliterated by the heirs long before. Which of the two did Conquest use?

Hel's dumb move of jumping into a pit and bit spat out like a bad meal had Mot cringing. She seemed alright. He would have asked, but the reaper still felt uneasy about speaking to the ghoul.
Mot stood back, watching as the powerful natural form of Mitsu went to work at another strategy. Mitsu was so helpful in this room. Just like Hel was in the first room. Was there really nothing Mot could do to help his team?
---
There was little time to dwell on that. Soon, two strange students entered the room. Were they students? They seemed... different. A point soon proven, as one event after another unfolded. Tempers flared, and a bit of a show of power reduced his team mates to their knees.
Mot stood back with Mitsu, patting the ghoul's head and scratching her ear. It was a bit strange to do, but having her in that form made it feel like he had to. Besides, doing it made him feel better somehow.
Once again, his team had questions, good questions. Except Hel, who was looking to get herself killed again. Mot never would have used the opportunity to gather intel. Shun did. That was one of his valuable points; Battle ready.

Mitsu had just managed to push the block into its destination when she heard Riyo speak up and stop mid sentence. It was apparent that others had joined them though the tense feeling of anxiety in the air made Mitsu wonder who they were. Turning her wolfish head her crimson eyes fell on the two horseman. One she had seen before, it was at Prom if she remembered correctly, the other was rather new to her though she believed all the horseman had been introduced briefly at an entrance ceremony of some sort. It was when she had first started and the warnings Hellma had given at the time didn't make sense...now it was gaining a bit of clarity.
Eyes darting back and forth between Shun and the now slowly angering horseman, the fur on Mitsu's shoulders started to stand on end when it seemed like Shun was being attacked. The ear petting, for once, did very little to set Mitsu at ease. Her mind was too focused with one thing, Shun was in trouble. Moving away from Mot and over toward the shinigami she stood at his side protectively but wasn't entirely sure what to do since he was being forced down by pressure changes. Honestly her knowledge about the horsemen was limited so she had no idea what they were capable of.
Hel had stepped up too but it seemed the reaper's attitude wasn't entirely appreciated. She was quickly pulled into the warped gravity as well and forced down. Still unwilling to move, Mitsu stood ready encase these horseman decided to attack. She might not have the ability to fight them well but she wouldn't let them get to Shun while he was down.
The lycan only truly relaxed when the gravity was equalized and Shun and Hel were allowed to stand once again. Instantly Mitsu morphed back to her much smaller student form, reaching for the skull pin she had left with Shun before securing it back around her neck. She wanted to ask if he was okay but now didn't seem to be the time. He didn't appear to be wounded at least.
The information they were getting was rather interesting though, her ears twitching with every few words as she tried to absorb the details to think about later. So the horsemen had fought these Hunters before, if that was true than they probably knew leaps and bounds more than most and were no doubt strong. Unlike Hel, Mitsu regarded the pair with caution, thinking out what she wanted to say so she didn't step on toes. The one seemed easily angered, like he had a temper just waiting to boil over. The other...well Mitsu felt that she would lash out when least expected and probably find a great deal of glee in someone else's pain.
"There is no need to fight among ourselves. We are not enemies." Mitsu tried to say calmly though it came out very soft. She was tired of the fighting and bickering really but it would do no good to snap, especially to those who were in a way like her seniors. They weren't students but it was clear she could still learn from them. "E-everyone's just a little on edge...but if you are looking for the Hunters then they are obviously still here...and in the house." That thought didn't bode well with Mitsu. They could open a door and the humans could be there, just waiting for them so that they could be captured.
"What exactly is their purpose in doing all this?" Mitsu asked quietly. Her soft tone could have easily gone ignored but she still wanted to ask. She had never in her life heard of humans attacking Halloween towners before much less turning them into weapons. It seemed like the rolls were very much reversed in this process. Not that they turned humans into weapons. "What do they have to gain?"

Glancing over to Mitsu as she rushed over to his side, he instinctively stepped a little closer to her out of protectiveness. Yes, the horsemen were on their side, but from what he could tell, they were still fairly dangerous to their lot. While he had relaxed considerably, he was still wary of the two. It was more on the level of respect rather than seeing them as an enemy, however.
"Yes, so we've heard. The ones that were freed not long ago mentioned watching them both weaponizing our kind, as well as killing off those who weren't 'compatible'."
The fact that the weapons protected the hunters so much bothered him. If they had any sort of will left in them.. why would they give in to do this for the humans? It did not make much sense to him. There had to be something else to the whole process.
His gaze flickered over towards Mitsu again as she provided a few valid questions. What did these hunters want from them? To go through such lengths, there had to be some sort of reasoning behind the madness. It didn't quite seem like they were just being 'no questions asked' types of assassins.
"While it might not be the case for right now, I feel as though running into them again will be inevitable. They are dangerous yes, but do you know of any weaknesses that they possess?"
Conquest had mentioned needing strategy after all. Dealing with any powerful enemy needed that, though.

Mitsu clearly had more guts than Mot did. She left the hat-less reaper behind as she moved to protect Shun and the others. Doing so had her pulled into the gravity spell before it was soon lifted.
Was Mot a coward for not throwing himself into the fray? He didn't see a need. The horsemen seemed irritable and possibly power drunk, but they meant no real harm. Their enemy was the hunters, after all.
Mot stood back, staying where he was at a safe distance, and let everyone else do the talking.

S-s-s-sweetness?
Riyo's red eyes seemed to bulge at the pet name, unsure of what to do with herself. On one hand, she despised pet names. On the other... She wasn't sure she wanted to correct the horsewoman, considering she had just said no harm would come to them without a reason. As her cheeks started to stain with a slight red hue, the ghoul lifted the hood of her jacket and through it over her head... Revealing the ridiculous set of fake ones sewn to the top. Augh.
Though, just as soon as the horsewoman affirmed they wouldn't harm them, her cohort seemed Hel bent on... Ending Hel if she kept it up.
Oh Jack, please let the valkyrie keep her mouth shut. Pleeeeease. Stepping back slightly, the feline simply listened to the talk of hunters fly around the room, mildly surprised that Mitsu had spoken up to them. She was usually the fearful one, wasn't she?
Maybe this field trip had been good for her...

Hel just shot a glare back at Riyo as the ghoul screamed at her. The words ‘scaredy cat’ and ‘run away with your tail tucked between your legs’ were on the tip of the valkyrie’s tongue, but she ignored them in favor of keeping her focus on the Horsemen. Invictus in particular. He was just rubbing her all the wrong ways.
She glanced over at Shun, and took for a moment to quietly listening, crossing her arms. The reaper tilted her head towards Eris when the Horsewoman commented about making Conquest angry, and her lips couldn’t help but pull into the brief smirk before fading. Her dual toned gaze slid back over to Conquest though as he decided to speak to her in a rather spiteful tone. Yes…all this information was very interesting, and the valkyrie was making sure to stow it away, but now, for a lack of better terms, the Horsemen were impeding on their wheels of progress now. If they had a job to do, and if her group had a puzzle to finish, it was probably best they leave now (lest Hel really did earn herself a one way ticket back to the front yard).
“…Ah, well.” The ghoul started, narrowing her gaze at Invictus. “Pardon me, friend.” Her tone was anything but polite. “I suppose since you both have such an important task, you should get back to it then, yes? We have our own to tend to as well, and it would be just wasteful for us to keep holding each other up.” Hel’s polite way of saying get the Jack out. “Happy hunting.”

Eris had taken the moment where the others began chatting a little to stare at Mot, who seemed to be doing his best impression of a wallflower. Which, of course, attracted the slightly-out-of-her-mind horsewoman's attention, because, seriously, what was more interesting than a wallflower? Especially when he was just so damn cute~ She wasn't sure if she was meeting his eyes or not (which she couldn't say she minded -- what a sexy hat... she was sorely tempted to steal it...) but the heir of War smiled a little coyly, winking in his direction before turning her attention back to the conversation. If only because she'd heard the little Lycan speak, which was intriguing in itself.
"They are still here," she replied casually, flicking her eyes down to her nails, as if inspecting them was far more worrysome than the hunters were -- completely contrary to her previous displays of fury, "But they won't for long. Or at least, not here ALIVE." That last part she almost spat again, her sweetened tone turning sour for half a second. But it was only for the moment, tone returning to normal as she lifted her gaze again, honey-brown eyes lingering on Mitsu. "They want to eliminate us. Drain the fear from our bodies so we can never respawn. Not for any fault of our own... or rather, not any fault of your own, yet."
It was a cryptic answer, but she seemed to not be interested in saying anymore. A shadow had recast over her expression, smirk vanishing as she stared blankly into space, as if lost in her own thoughts. It seemed Eris was beginning to lose touch with the sanity she had been holding onto, playing tug of war back and forth with an invisible foe. Or perhaps it was her patience wearing thin... or her need for a fight returning with all the talk of hunters returning her focus to their previous intention. Whatever the reason, there was a lull in her answers, a good few minutes where she didn't say anything, despite the fact that Shun had spoken up again. Her shoulders curled a little, but her wings grew rigid, her eyes blowing wide again, pupil constricting to a pinpoint before dilating almost to the point where the brown had practically disappeared ... in fact, her sclera had begun to turn black too... and was she ...growing?
Snapping her eyes shut, Eris gritted her teeth a little, baring them in a grimace before she reopened them, flicking her gaze around at the others before settling completely. Her eyes had returned to normal, although there seemed to be a slightly sharper intent about them. "Ooooh, clever indeed," she answered Shun as if nothing had happened, her voice a little lower and less sugary than it had been, "With any luck, you won't get the chance to see them again."
And that would have been the end of it, had Hel not spoken up again. She had already turned to go, refocused on the task at hand, a task she had far more motivation to pursue than a group of students who, while she admittedly seemed entertained by, if not genuinely liked, did not matter nearly as much to her as personal vengeance. Tilting her entire body a little towards Invictus, War slid a hand affectionately over his shoulder, respectful in a way she was with no one else, and caring in the exact same magnitude, starting to coax him away from group and back to their game. But Eris was a creature of emotion, volatile in a way that encompassed her entire being, species and personality. And there was no way that last snide remark could be ignored. Her hand went completely rigid on Conquest's shoulder, tightening until her knuckles were completely white... then red...
Then the rest of her skin began to turn red...
... and she was beginning to grow again.
She didn't stop, even as her entire body took up the entire space of the small hallway, quickly expanding towards the others. Her shoulders had hunched, her palms spreading as they reached the floor... but it was quickly becoming apparent she was changing. Into a giant red horse. Although she never made a complete transformation, her face only half-formed into the horseman she was, a harsh exhale was enough to send a cascade of fire billowing towards the group, charring the walls a jet black, miraculously dissipating just before it reached the group. The hot air, however, did not, kicking up dust, and by the time it had settled she was humanoid again, eyes burning with the same fire of the jet-black ones.
"Bridges burned, my dear~ bridges burned."
Taking a step backward, she flicked her eyes to the male reaper again, anger still burning.
"Be careful of the brooding one with the scythe. The girl with the colossal weapon. The Doctor," she hissed at Shun, blowing Riyo a slightly sadistic grin and a kiss before vanishing into what appeared to be an invisible doorway.
And then she was gone.

Invictus, while taking note of the reaper hiding away, did not stare as Eris did - her flittering amusements were something he was used to yet he himself was able to hold a lot more certainty to his actions. Perhaps it was because simply he did much less daring and on the fly things - or would if he wasn't practically pulled in to such activities by his girls. Yes. His girls. Hell would be raised if another tried to claim the other heirs from him. It went without saying that he was...possessive of them. There was possibly already a house just like the one they were in back home that he'd throw anybody brave enough to ...brave them into to see if they backed it up.
When the wolf-girl spoke up, Invictus looked to her, seeming to treat her with a calmness that Hel had not earned - perhaps even Shun by comparison was treated far more harshly than Mitsu's own calm questioning. "Humans believe that by destroying the results of what it is they create they will have better success than simply curing their own kind of their fears. It will be a fruitless battle for them. We will not fall, and any success they have had is purely superficial. The destruction of a single horseman will not delay the end of the world - they are foolish in that sense." That was simply how it was. Humans moved away from pain rather than towards pleasure, for lack of better terminology for the mindset.
As with Eris, Invictus seemed to react badly to Shun's words, though fortunately without gravity this time. One hand clenched into a fist. He seemed to not answer the question that was posed to the pair, just seething instead. Silently, his expression almost seeming to mellow as he did so - perhaps being angry was something that soothed him in it's own twisted way.
"Remove their weapons from them, and then they are merely human." Invictus answered, though the horseman pair probably sought to remove limbs from the hunters rather than weaponry. One question still remained inside of Invictus's head; was there a way for the weaponization process to be reversed by some twist of fate? There was a part of him that doubted it. They didn't possess the technology of humans, after all. Not such a grand scale of things.
Invictus looked to Eris's hand when she placed it on his shoulder, placing his own over hers before his attention snapped over to Hel and her tone, his fingers clasping around War's hand in a way that was tight, yet not crushing. It was like a pair of wolves staring down a defenseless rabbit and wondering if they were hungry or not. His female companion seemed more inclined to bite than Invictus was. The half-transformation did not frighten him, he stood calm - not a single ******** was given about it.
"If you wish to still speak bigger than you are in the picture, then put your blade to the merit against me when this is over." Invictus stated - issuing a challenge against Hel (or perhaps he simply wanted to crush her and remind her what it was that allowed the Horsemen their egos). Either way, it seemed that the same invisible doorway that Eris had stepped through would now take Conquest along with it.

Did... that female horsemen... just wink at him?
Mot stared back dumbfounded, a rather obvious blush taking over his face before swiftly turning his head away, his arms crossed tightly over his pounding chest. She was obviously teasing him. He knew that. Thing was? It worked. He wished Mitsu had given him back his hat so he could hide.
Soon, Hel found herself trying to dig her own grave again, and the reaper had to wonder how many enemies the ghoul had if she'd always been like this?
And then the fuel of nightmares happened. Eris's rage, and growing form had Mot pinning himself to the wall, staring wide eyed at the half horse giant taking up the room. Was she going to kill them all? Had his group's questions pissed her off so badly it warranted death? He winced and covered his head while flames burst forward, only to recede and leave the woman standing normally, albeit angrily.
The overall feeling of events of the day began pounding inside mot's head, like a horrible headache, or a ticking of a clock. Wait.. was that actual ticking?
Regardless, the Horsewoman left, along with her partner.
A long silence from Mot.

The calmness that Invictus approached in answering her questions seemed to put Mitsu a little more at ease. At least they weren't angered for no reason at all. She cringed though as Hel spoke up in her snarky tone, fur bristling along her tail as Eris began to change and shift. Mitsu could feel her muscles tightening, the bones in her bone wavering as if ready to transform as well. It wasn't to say she was not scared, she was terrified, but she would pose as a shield to protect her friend if need be. Her hand had even started to reach for her skull pin again ready to pull it from her throat in a hurry but by then the horseman had calmed and returned to her normal size.
A little on edge she watched the horsemen go and once they had vanished through a seemingly random door she looked back at her group. Pushing back the hat on her head she looked to Mot who had remained hiding in the back of the group. Perhaps he wasn't doing so well without his hat? Slowly, Mitsu removed the item from her head before stepping closer to Mot and holding it out for him to take. It had really helped her out but now it was time to give it back.
"Thank you, big brother." A small but still warm smile touched her lips. "This really helped but it is time to give it back." As she stood there though her ears began to flick in time to something. Was there...ticking? "What's....that noise?"

So that was the reason behind all of this. They were trying to eliminate fear were they? As the horseman said, it was a futile notion. Even if humans did somehow manage to get rid of them all, he doubted fear would truly cease to exist. And then what would happen? Where would all that energy go?
Shun's attention focused onto the woman as she began to grow and shift. He didn't know what she was up to but his guard was being raised once more as he stepped closer to Mitsu, ready to resummon his weapons. While he didn't think he stood too much of a chance against two horsemen, he'd try his damnest for sure if he could help it.
Thankfully, that wasn't needed, as Eris managed to cool down. Relaxing slightly, he watched as the two leave before flitting his gaze over to Hel. Was he irritated at her behavior towards the horsemen? Quite possibly. He didn't say anything though.
Shaking his head silently, he looked to Mitsu, placing a hand onto her shoulder. She had run to his side after all. Though, now that the horsemen were gone, he noticed that there was a ticking noise resonating through the room. Furrowing his brow, he looked around.
"Anyone else hear that?"

G-getting... Rid of fear?
Riyo's head tilted as the horseman finally put the last piece of the puzzle together. Why... Why would they want to disturb the natural flow of things for the greater good of a single race? How selfish. How disgusting. How utterly-
Oh dear sweet Jack the horsewoman was growing. Riyo's face contorted in a look of horror as she scurried to the farthest corner, not that it helped much.
And with the drop of a pin... It was over.
The sadistic grin made her skin crawl, recalling a familiar look from the deepest crevices of her mind... She was just... Just like...
The kiss shattered the thought, causing the ghoul to pale considerably.
She stood there, unmoving for a couple of moments, until the 'tick' caught her ears. With each small sound, her feline appendages twitched under the hood. "Okay. Last room." Riyo mumbled, rushing over to the blue stone and glancing at her teammates desperately. "Don't know what that sound is. Don't care. Lets get the ******** out of here."
