Rhea's eyes grew wide. "Something for me?" she breathed, hardly able to believe it. "Really?" Her eyes began to sparkle with excitement. "What is it? I promise I'll take very very very good care of it! Really!"
And she was sure Cindy would help her, whatever it was.
Now Shael looked curious as well. "If I didn't know better, I'd suggest Kara might have known," she murmured, wondering (not for the first time) how the angel always managed to do things so right for them.

"Intution?" Lin suggested as she opened up her bag.
She made sure only to have what she needed inside this way she didn't have to go rummaging so much. A short moment later she pulled out what looked to be a branch with a light blue fluffball on the end. Sort of like the fuzzy willows Lin liked to pet as a child.
"Actually its a her," Lin told Rhea, "You're supposed to plant this and it'll grow into a tree, and the fluffball will bloom."
"What race is it?" Cindy inquired knowing full well among the cats the race defined the personality a bit.
"Angelic, so she's going to be big."

Rhea took the small branch carefully, but her expression was one of complete confusion.
"A ... her?" she repeated, her brow furrowing as she looked up at Lin. "What ... is it? She? Um ..."
She didn't understand ...

Cindy giggled at that placing a hand on Rhea's shoulder, "You've played with Saki a few times Rhea, Saki came from a fluffball just like this one. Only it was Lin who watered her and made sure she grew..."
"Well, when you're the size of a doll, it's about the biggest responsibility you could get at that age," Lin murmured, "I couldn't do much else."
Except bug people of course, and stalk them, naturally.
"So this, will one day grow into a cat like Saki... only bigger."

Rhea was amazed. "Saki came from a fluffball on a branch?" she gawked. "Wow ..."
She clutched the branch close and spun to face her mother. "Mama, where can I plant her?" she asked excitedly.
Shael laughed. "Well, we have some extra planting pots from the plants that died over the winter, why not plant her in one of those and then you can keep her in your room?" she suggested. "I'm sure Cindy will help you to look after her well, since she seems to know the most about such creatures."
Rhea turned to Cindy, her eyes bright. "Cindy, will you?" she breathed. "Pretty, pretty please?"

"Of course," Cindy replied, "I would love to, and to see how this one turns out."
She was also very interested to see what language it would start out with. Saki had the unusual quality of being fluent in both forms of Elvish and Common Tongue, so the question had come to mind which language did she start out with? Or did she just know all three?
"As an angelic she's going to end up much bigger than Saki."

Rhea looked down at the little blue fluffball and smiled. She liked the white tuft at the tip, and the spirals ...
"What's that thing?" she asked, pointing at the glowing golden circle that was just above it. "It's shiny ..."
Shael looked at Lin curiously. "And just how much bigger than Saki is she going to be?" she asked, wondering if it would be a good idea to have it inside the house after all.

"That... would be a halo, some angels no matter what the type have them. It's... as far as anyone can tell... a glowing mass of tanigible energy. It just floats over their heads and glows all the time," Cindy explained.
Of course not every angel had a halo most didn't.
"Uhm... well you never met Wish so," Lin thought about it, and there weren't any cats to compare it to.. there were small cats... like Saki and then were moor cats. Actually until Saki there were only moor cats if she recalled.
Lin motioned with her arms, marking down roughly how large the body was going to be.
"About that big."

"Halo," Rhea murmured softly, smiling and putting her hand near it as if she were going to touch it. She held back, though, for some reason feeling as if it wouldn't be right for her to do so. She smiled up at Cindy. "Can we put her in my room right now?" she asked eagerly. "And plant her and everything?"
Shael was about to say something to Lin when Adonai put one hand on her shoulder.
"I think it will be fine," he told her quietly. "And it will be good for Rhea - and for Cindy, and for us. After all, Rhea is a child ... she can't spend all of her time with grown-ups. She needs a childhood as well - and pets are a part of that. Besides, Saki has never given Haradhel a moment's worry. I'm sure that this one will be just fine."

"Yes, yes we can. If we don't plant her, she won't bloom," Cindy replied, "And I don't see why not. Sure she'll be a big kitty, but she won't take up the whole room or anything."
And cats could fit into anywhere anyways from experience, the places she found some of the other cats sleeping boggled Cindy's mind at times.
"And angelics are more guardian types than play types. Saki's half butterfly, so she probably got her playfulness from there, butterflies and fairy types tend to be. She's still a cat though so Rhea can play with her, Wish was played with a lot when I was a little... and still is really."
Wish was a witty cat, whom Lin knew liked to make scalding comments when it suited her, but she was good with children, and that is what mattered most.

Rhea's eyes grew wide. "Then we should go right away!" she exclaimed. "So that she can grow soon! Come on, Cindy!"
Carefully holding the branch in one hand, she grabbed Cindy's arm with the other and ran towards the house, leaving her staff where she had dropped it.
Adonai listened intently to Lin's explanation, nodding seriously throughout.
"Better and better," he smiled. "A playful cat for the children who need cheering up, and a protector cat for one who needs protection. I think that is wonderful. You'll have to thank your mother on behalf of all of us when you go back."

Cindy laughed a bit as she followed (or was dragged) along by Rhea towards the house. The next month or so, Cindy decided was going to be very excitable.
"I will," Lin nodded, "Mom thought of it when talking to Wish, Wish is the same type and has been with Mom before any of us were born. So, she's been helping Mom before Dad ever came along."

Rhea dragged Cindy up the stairs and towards the room directly across the hall from the top step - the large and cluttered storage room. "There should be a pot in here," she murmured, leaving the branch and fluffball outside the door so that it wouldn't get damaged or lost. "And then we need some dirt ... right?"
"And this new one," Adonai asked, "will it talk, too? Like Saki and Wish?"
He had a very keen desire suddenly to watch the fluffball as it was taken care of, and as it grew and became a winged cat. Perhaps he could do a study on it ... write a book on it ... after all, he had two to learn from and observe now.

"That's right," Cindy nodded, "Enough so the branch can sprout roots. It'll grow like a normal plant needing water and sun until she detaches herself from the branch."
By then she would be able to eat, seeing as when they first bloom well they had no mouths. So....
"Yes, all the cats are gifted with speech, though Saki is an odd case that she's also gifted with the Sing ability. I think she inheirted that from her mother, a secondary gift is rare," Lin paused and then added, "Oh, and if you can. Mom would like to know what language this one will start out with. Saki knows both forms of Elvish, and Common Tongue, but she thinks Common Tongue first because I was looking after her, and she must have picked up with other two languages after we left, but she has no proof of that they could start out with a different language."

"I wonder where we can get the dirt," Rhea mused as she found the pot they were looking for. She hurried back to Cindy and held it up to her. "Maybe by the river? Is that good dirt to use?"
Or did it matter where they got the dirt from? Maybe from the garden would be best, it after all was fertilized and everything ... Rhea wasn't quite sure what that meant, but her mama had told her it meant something about plants growing bigger and faster.
Adonai smiled and nodded. "I would love to," he agreed. "Is there anything else she would like to know? I think I might be conducting my next research project on the cat ... or at least, taking intensive notes, since there are really no experiments I can do, except find out which language it uses first."
