John gave a slight nod to acknowledge Liam, and at the same time saying a polite 'hi' with his eyes.

"Is he up?" She asked not even looking up from her place against Liam she was to nervous and scared to look at John's face. Her boney hands were pressed up against the boy’s front and she held her eyes closed tight. Lilly loved that Liam never seemed to judge her or even take her for granted, he was sweet and caring exactly what she needed right then.

John sat, his mood became a little lighter and he sighed. He was worried about Lilly's well being and about Jake. So far all he could think about was how he'd been a complete douche bag to Lilly throughout this whole ordeal. He felt so guilty for acting in such a way. I'll fix it... I just hope I dont keep screwing up... he thought to himself. I wonder where Beth is... his mind had begun to wander.

Liam was also waiting for some bit of information to say that Lily's brother was going to be okay. He could not imagine the horror it would put Lily through to find out that Jake's condition had taken a fatal turn. He reached over hte side of the bed taking care not to jostle Lily as he did so. "I'll call in a nurse, I am sure that she will explain what is going on." he explained as he pressed the button that would alert the nurse's station. Why did I not think of that sooner? he wondered. It was a simple solution.

Lilly turned her head slightly so that one eye was able to see the door. But the rest of her face was covered by Liam's clothes. "Thank you Lie..." She said quietly and sighed softly. She needed to relax, even if he was not doing so great there was nothing she could do about it, but if she had been there, if she had been reading to him he might not have.... She closed her eyes and held tighter to Liam not wanting to think about the what ifs.

A signal went off at the Nurse's Station. A nurse got up adn went to the room that the call had come from. She knocked on the door. "Yes? May I help you?" She asked.
