he smirked, and let out a grunt of a laugh. "heh. nothing much realy. just to be aquainted with such an interesting new stranger. you have gathered gossip about yourself already you see, and i am just a curious little elf. also, I heard that you were seen with someone wearing the face of an old friend of mine who passed away. i wanted to meet her and have a chat."
Valthier knew that his adversary expected there to be more to this. in all honesty though, the High Priest didn't even know fully himself why he cared so much. but he was always curious... if somebody els eknew Seth, it could be advantagous later to know about this person and her connection with the Derahel girl.

Erelala rode through the streets her mind racing with the possibilities of what she could do now. She had been cast aside as Val'atar's mate and for that he would pay dearly. Lifting her head from her moment of inward thought, she happened to glance up at the two figures. One she knew from the temple, like her he had been chosen by the goddess. The other she did not know and this intrigued her. Perhaps a bit of espionage would work into her plans. With a toss of her silver hair over her shoulder she composed herself into her more natural physically appealing self.

Maovu searched blindly in sleep. Her hands reached out, searching for any hint of warmth, any sign of Duraz. His absence was like a bucket of cold water in Maovu's face. "Where is he?!" She screamed. The sudden explosion of will snapped her plush minions to attention. A handsome velvet demon spoke first. "He said would return soon." The Valatar doll landed on Maovu's head with a plop. "I knew this would happen. You should have listened to me, instead of putting all your faith in that stranger." The velvet demon growled. "He seems more trustworthy than you. Duraz told me when he left. If he meant to abandon us, he wouldn't have said anything at all!" Maovu's patience was wearing thin. "Enough! You two, find him and report back." She snapped. "As you wish. Come along then, Geist. Before the trail goes cold." Valatar said quietly. The toys spread their little wings and fluttered out of the shop like bats. They flew above the buildings, scanning the streets below. Valatar spotted a familiar head of hair. He quickly descended to the preening woman's shoulder. "You really shouldn't try so hard, Erelala dear. It makes you look insecure." The wicked doll purred in Erelala's ear.

Duraz pondered this for a second or so. "If you wish to meet her I cannot stop you but at the same time I cannot help you. She doesn't like much company, but I'll tell her about you. Though remember should you send anyone to track me down or find her without her or my concent they will be reduced to gibbering.... potatoes!" He laughed wildly as he said the last word. Then began to walk out of the alley saying the word to himself in different ways.

Duraz walked back to the Elder Eye toy shop after stopping off to pick up some food. As he entered he called out "Maovu! I'm back!" He placed the shopping on the counter and started to walk up the stairs.

Maovu pounced on Duraz as soon as she saw him. "You came back! You really came back! You didn't abandon me..." She was almost sobbing from relief. "For a moment, I thought it was all a trick." Maovu wrapped her arms around Duraz's chest. She just couldn't seem to get close enough to him. The toy maker vowed there and then that anyone who harmed Duraz would pay for it with more than just their life. "I was scared." Maovu whispered.

"I'm fine and I'm sorry I made you worry. Something came up." He stroked his hand through her hair. " Can we sit down, I have a message for you?"

Maovu smiled and nodded. "Of course..." Her expression changed gradually to confusion. "Who sent this message?" She asked. No one but the children had any real knowledge of her. Her neighbors were too frightened to inquire. It seemed that news traveled fast in Au'Shinduago.

"A vampire by the name Valthier, he said he wanted to talk with you at the temple. He also said that he knew the former owner of your face." He stroked her shoulder in an attempt to comfort.

Maovu's ruby eyes narrowed sharply. She leaned into Duraz's touch. "So... That slut finally decided to show himself." A terrible grin began to surface on Maovu's stolen lips. "Alright. I'll see him." She said.

"But not now, this is a time that we should spend together." He kissed Maovu gently, as he ran his hand down her back.

Maovu shivered. She couldn't remember how to talk anymore. Duraz's kiss had shattered her focus like a porcelain teacup thrown on the floor. All she could do was babble and smile. Maovu hugged him around the neck and returned the kiss with enthusiasm. Her whole body felt like it was melting. The sensation was both wonderful and strange.

"I have never felt this way before, at least I don't think I have. The last few centuries are a blur."He muttered, as if his inner dialoge had failed. He stroked his hands along the curves of her body. He gently kissed her neck, as he loosened his sash.

Maovu's mind raced but her body had been completely subdued under the caress. Duraz was frightening but he was the only man that evert claimed to love her. She felt obligated to trust him. Maovu whimpered softly but didn't struggle. After all, if he truly the toy maker, no harm would come to her. Though she did not want to consider it at the moment, Maovu wasn't sure she would want to live anymore if Duraz's affection was a lie. The heartbreak would most likely kill her. She forced her doubts to the back of her mind. Duraz had shown no signs of betrayal. He seemed as devoted as her dolls but unlike them, he loved Maovu of his own free will.
