(('Night!))
"We could always just stop by the local Information stand," Artica offered innocently.

Varnis had glared at her for a moment, then looked away. "Information stand?" He asked himself self quietly.
((This is a fantasy/midevile setting. There are no information stands around stands around here...))

Lexenos had been too busy trying to snap Mel out of let to notice the bat, let alone fight it. "Sorry I didn't help, guys. But it seems you didn't need my help after all," he said as he looked at the bat's body.

Mel looked around, still a little disorented. "I still don't understand. What happened back there?" Her eyes stopped on the dead bat. "Oh my. Did that attack us? I'm sorry. I should've helped."

OOC: Sorry I missed the fight. I was out yesterday.
Ahren stared at Varnis, her face hard in anger. "Do you see why I do not trust people? You didn't tell us the truth. And that king? He decieved us as well. He trapped us. We may die in here, thanks to him. What say you, son of the king?" Her voice was low and cutting, hazel eyes burning into Varnis' face. She twirled her staff, one end angled towards him.
"Can't one of you mages blast through the rock?" asked Ahren, glancing at Artica and Aaron. "All you do is argue. Why don't you think for a moment and try to get us out?"

((Yea... Lex signed off at the perfect time...))
"I..." He couldn't think of anything to say in defense. "He put us in here to keep us safe. The village was destroyed." He looked up, and then towards the rock. "Would rather be out there in a burning village with no chance of survival, or be trapped in here, being able to survive!? What would you rather have done!?" He asked Ahren, before sitting back down.
((Also, don't worry. I will have a battle set up for you two also...))

Ahren glared openly at Varnis, her hands clenching around the staff. "You trust him. After all he did, lying to us and leaving us to die, you still trust him." She glanced around the cavern, anger fading to wary caution. "I don't think our chances of survival are any better in here. We have no escape and nowhere to retreat to. We need to decide what to do. Right now, I have no desire to stick my neck out even further by chasing the bandits." Ahren surveyed Varnis. "We don't know what happened out there. I heard fighting, but I don't know what it was. We'd have a better chance of surviving outside, where we can run. Here, we're trapped with dozens of bandits who wouldn't hesitate to kill us all. I? I would have stayed outside and fought. At least there I could survive if things got too heated by running."

Varnis had sighed as she said that. "You don't know how bad it really is out side!" He yelled back. "My father was a good man! He had to do this, he didn't want us to die! He was protecting us, and we can help him by killing the bandits in here." He paused for a moment. "We should quiet down though. I hear something, and we don't want to draw attention to our selves. With that he lowered the brightness of the staff.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Off in the distance of the cave, there was a scratching noise. It was like a sword being sharpened on a sharpening stone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I think we should see what it is, before we do anything else." He said with a quiet tone of voice. "If we do, try not to make any noise."

Mel drew an arrow and tightened it on her bowstring, listening carefully to the scratching. "I agree with Varnis. We should go check it out before it has a chance to check us out."

"So," Artica whispered casually to Ahren. "Did you still want me and Aaron to destroy the boulder?"

((Dam... Everyone needs to be on at the same time...))
"So who wants to go and see what it is? I think we should so we know what is there." He said a little cautiously.

"I agree with my sister. I think we should get to it first before it has a chance to do anything, like attack," Lexenos said, glancing at his sister before continuing. "I vote we go."

"Thats three for yes, and one undecided, so far." He said as he quietly walked towards the area of the sound. He came across a fork in the cave., and then looked off to the side. He listened for a moment, and went to the left. "Well, anyone that wants to follow can." He said as he continued to walk.

Artica let out her breath in an icy gust. "I better make sure he doesn't get himself killed," she justified herself before following.
