"He is familiar with the concept of romantic love, I would hope, and not just family bonds of the same."

drifter watched the dragon lord carefully a moment, the way he moved, the shifting of his weight.

"Is there something else that concerns you about that pairing, Lycear?"

Hunter grumbled under his breath and chose discretion to be the better part of valor and dragged himself away and stumbled, swayed and blundered his way down below for the time being. give desdemona time to cool off.

Desdemona glared daggers at his back and settled down on the barrel he had been on, watching the silver with some light amusement.

"I would think the silvers and golds would be missing your presence. you sure there isn't a different reason your out here then just keeping an eye on us? afraid these humans would attempt to plunder the necropolis?"

"That fact is also debatable." The subject had just never really come up and thus had been virtually ignored. Not that Kaznec was even interested in observing such things, his head was always in a book. "Just that it is something that would only reap dispair. No one wants to feel like they're being selfish and trapping another into nothing but unhappily ever after. Oblivious as one side of the party may be."

"My my he is a whiny thing. I have to admire his will to keep trying however." Raising an eyebrow at the other dragoness who was looking to dig up a little information. "I trust Dyranthirim to take care of them. They wil be fine. As for me...well, I worried. Not of this place though...they are more than capable of taking care of themselves still."

"then what was your worry? and he's not so whiny...but he also not one that likes to be out of control. he likes being able to ride the waves between chaos and order...but keeping himself in control."

shrugged lightly.

"He'll adapt, he'll overcome. he always does. He'll be a dragon of the sand seas, like I am. we'll go where we would, when we please."

"For whom I wonder. It is no secret Kanzec always looks to protect and help her. even if he was trapped in such a relationship I am sure he would not be unhappy."

pointing a finger at Kanzec.

"After all, if he wanted another, he's had plenty of opportunity to explore. the atolls are not without dragons of ill repute to be sure, and the golds and silvers, I understand, are tantalizing to others."

a slight grin.

"I think you worry too much on things that are beyond your power to control. do you really think that tearing them apart would work? Jae would seek him out at every opportunity. Kanzec would constantly wonder what she was up to, what devices she was crafting. her knack for tinkering appeals to his logical mind, you know."

"Words of things travel fast...when I heard of Taerin, I wasn't going to leave that one alone. A Rider that is a gold dragon is dangerous enough...but also holds a great deal of command. One showing up missing is cause for alarm and Rider panic to an extent. If Taerin turned on them, he knew everything. I decided to check things out. I suppose I and releived and disheartened that Taerin's memories fled with his soul." Merely staring at the ambitions of the other, "Don't get too ahead of yourself."

"She would be the unhappy one. Always waiting for something other than friendly affection and protection and never getting it." Shaking his head but turning a look back her way at her finger pointing. "Kaznec's mind doesn't wander that direction. More than one woman has tried to get a rise in his interest and he cares not to notice." Giving a little snort to her grinning, "I know. She enjoys showing them to him just as much as he likes to try and figure out how her mind wrapped around the idea in the first place. However, this is in my power to control. If I have to, I will."

Stroud had no way of knowing how long it had been since he had left his workshop. Because he was now working as one of the cre of the Gale Claw, a job that he had to admit he was beginning to enjoy. Though the woman that was his captain had a fierceness about her that made his tremble at the prostect of pissing her off. "WHich reminds, I have checked in with her since.......well dang I can't remember when!" he laughed to himself as he took time to make sure that the coals of his fires were dead. He wasn't about to burn the damn boat to the ground because he was being retarded no was he?

Making his way towards the captains quarters, he took the time to look about the ship, he wasn't sure where it was they were going this time, he had heard commosion from time to time, but such was the life of a pirate he supposed, so he had payed little mind. He wasn't one to mask too many questions, he was far too old to do something as foolish as that.

By the time he had finished cycling through the mini rant in his head, he had arrived at the door of the captain's quarters. With his large soot filled hands he have the door a gentle rapping, stood back and waited to be allowed in. Or to be told to f off.

Gem was sitting behind her desk, nursing a bottle of rum as she watched Cyvalor sleeping in her bed. His own upset had made her mind wander back to things she didn't like to think about and was better off not dwelling on. The knock on her cabin door got a turn of emerald eyes to the wood, narrowing before setting the bottle down and getting herself up, walking over. Pulling the door open, she gave the smith a look up and down with her eyes, leaning against the doorframe. "What do you want, Stroud?"

"I assure ma'am that I meant no disrespect. I just want to see if the captain requires of anything is all." His speech as it always ways was slurred. Stroud was not known for his mental prowess, he had great at fixing swords and handling them as well, but deep he was not.

"I am so often caught up in my work that I forget to check to see if anything is required of me dear lady." he said once again with a bow. "If nothing is required I will return to my furnace captain."

He wasn't completely surprised that she was so vocal about not trusting but it did call to some part of him deep inside. He'd learned to trust and then learned not to trust in two highly painful lessons he'd never forgotten. One had dealt with his father and the other with a fellow assassin he'd thought of as his best friend aside from Dhairiss. "You're allowed to trust someone, Vryn. I'm not saying you shouldn't trust anyone at all, merely to be careful who you choose."

"If I needed anything, I'd be screaming for it as usual. I haven't even had the pleasure of having a muffin today because all of this stupid dragons and shards business. So unless you can smith up muffins and repair things that are not physical, then no I don't need you. Or anyone else right now." Pushing past him and stepping from her cabin, calling down to her crew on deck and probably whomever else was in earshot. "You hear me you deck scum sucking heathens? Bother me and you get yardarmed! I want my ship spotless by morning, I want a restock as in your abilities, and I want a muffin as big as my head for breakfast!"

Clearing her throat and turning her back on them in rather calm fashion, walking back to her cabin and turning a look over her shoulder to stroud. "If it is within your merit to make something that would make a dragonling happy, try that."

"How do you know who to choose though? Especially when you're like me. You can read all the little lies and such that flutter across people's faces and bodies and you can tell if someone is trying to get the better of you." She couldn't, that's what she had unspokenly said. Savryn chose to be alone in her own little world of darkness and heightened other senses merely because it was easier. She'd tried before and it was just a hassle.

"Like you?" He put down his blade for a moment and moved to his knees so his eyes were level with hers, as unseeing as they were. Yes, he knew she was blind but that had never mattered before. "Savryn, you see more than most people who have perfect eyesight." Thus, gently touching her shoulders to let her know he was right there as he grasped them. "Yes, you can. Am I out to use you? Am I here for reasons other than I told you? Am I here to cause you harm or problems?"

He could not help but smile broadly at the comment that she had made. "Muffin as big as your head? I see well, if nothing else I will see if there is anybody on this ship that makes a great tasting giant muffing." he said with a bow. "I apologize for the inconvenience ma'am" he said with a bow as he made his way to the place in the ship that he called home.

Along the way he thought about what the captain had said, he wasn't very well versed in the ways of dragonlings......he didn't know that much about human children for that matter, he wasn't even sure if he had ever been one himself. "What could help to raise the spirits of a young dragon?" he said, rubbing at his chin delicately. "I wonder if I can't rustle something up." he said as he disappeared into his workshop, his mind slowly churning with ideas.

((Going to have to call it a night for now, I have a massive headache and need to take something, it was pleasure to meet you ladies))

( who you calling a lady, fresh meat! )

"And who says that he doesn't now? I'm not entirely sure on how this thing works..maybe some of Taerin's memories are in there someplace? something useful from a tactical standpoint."

A shrug.

"I'm not. It'll be awhile before he's himself again. You know, me and hunter....I mean Lazerous...have tried to have children before. I've even had eggs...but, I could never keep them. the temperatures were never right...too hot, or too cold. Now...I'm not entirely sure I want any, now that I know there's a good chance I could have them. Since I'm showing such a fine job at trying to help my new 'dragonling' adapt."

"Can you, Lycear? can you really? trying to force them apart would probaly have a very...negative outcome. I think in his heart, Kanzec knows how much she means to him. He just cannot express it. Just as Jae is afraid to express it, out of a fear of rejection. But force them apart, I think you would find they would put up quite the fight."

A slight grin.

"But speaking of others trying to get rises. what about you?"

Clouded silver and gold searched before they came to lock on his own red eyes, able to see him or not, she was looking at him. Not over his shoulder or at his hair, or to the side but at his own eyes as he was speaking to her. He made a valid point though as he was using himself as an example...save she still had some troubles with him surprising her but even now it seemed he was learning some. "Why is it so important to you that I trust you? Why is that Kelligrin?" It was an honest question from her, not anything mocking and the like. Savryn was honestly baffled.

"It would be better if he didn't." Shifting her weight some and eating a few pulled off pieces of meat from what she had been given. "Of course you could never keep them...dragon-kin and humans can't breed. The gestation styles are far too different and thus it always results in death way before hatching." Tilting her head to the other dragoness. "He is far from what it takes to care for an actual dragonling. Just the learning mechanics are the same. But children are always something that can be now or later."

"I will cross that bridge when I come to it." Giving one of those snorts of his that said he was done with that particular discussion and he indeed would deal with it when the time was right to deal with it. A raise of an eyebrow at her grin though, "What do you mean, what about me?" Blinking at her.

She was asking a valid question herself. One that he unfortunately didn't have an answer for. Not one that he was willing to say out loud anyway. Talking about her in terms of his fascination with her wasn't something he was comfortable doing. "Because I'm the only one you can. Here anyway. And the success or failure of my mission depends on you." It was the truth. He could take out the Riders without her but he'd told her too much. If she went to the wrong people with the information he'd entrusted to her, he would be looking at a giant mess. And that would not please his employer.

The same reason anyone else wanted her to trust them really. Because it was good for them both for the moment and then when they went their seperate ways there was no more need for it. Her eyes dropped from his own and she gave him a nod. She didn't know why she was searching for something more than temporary trust from anyone. "Do you have an extra blanket? I'm a bit cold...it happens after these sorts of things." Looking to change the subject so as not to feel the disappointment.
