"I'm sorry," Joe murmured. He started to reach for her shoulder, but stopped and let his hand fall awkwardly.
"Well, I've still got a few time creds. And if you need help with the labor, I'm your man."

"If that'll help," Joe said. "I took it out last week and filled it as far as I could, so you should have enough mana in there to do this five times. Or do you need me to clear it out?" He reached under his jacket and withdrew the glass sphere, which was almost completely full of black smoke from the amount of mana inside it.

Linda put a hand on it. "Mmm... it seems basically pure, it should work fine," she concluded. "It'll have plenty of power left in it, after, though."

"Of course it's pure," Joe said with a smile. "I'm running on basically universal, unrefined mana. And you can use as much as you want, I'll just recharge it later. Any idea how long this will take?"

She shrugged. "Depends. I have to experiment with the best way to make it work a little, and what materials to use. Probably around a full day, if I make a project of it."

"Please do," Joe said, moving to hold the door open for her. "If we can get this done before the mission, that would be optimal. Jacob and I will do everything we can to assist. I can ask Marco to prepare for all three of us, if we need to."
He was clearly eager to get started.

"I gotta try this thing," he muttered gleefully, put a little mana into it, and completely disappeared. A few seconds later Joe got smacked upside the backside of the head, following by a quick running thud of feet going out the door and nearly knocking Linda over on the way out.
Fyrin was a little more dignified, stopping to help pick up cards and then walking out with a tip of the hat more or less.
((Right, so Fyrin is replacing Alan, so he's going on the assault with Paul and all of them? Or... no, he's going into the Lucifex Bomb planting operation?))
