Please forgive me some day......... This one time at cadet summer camp, my friend and I were in the senior band for this ceremony called "Ceremony of the Flags". She plays piccolo, I play flute. Quadra Senior Band has always had a tradition for playing in the C of Fs. During the ceremony, depending which instrument you played, there were some funny things you had to do/wear. During C of Fs, the band wears white gunshirts and white trousers. Being a flute, I had to wear bright neon coloured lingerie under my uniform. My friend, being a piccolo, had to stuff her bra with sheet music and wear bright yellow boxers under hers.
The ceremony ended pretty well. When we were packing up to leave, it started raining. Every female who played flute had their neon bra showing under their drenched gunshirt.
All in all, it was a pretty funny scene. :'D ......If I disappear completely without a trace

Please forgive me, God, I wish I had that much fun at Band Camp, but no my director is no fun. Being the only flute that hasn't just started (I've been playing for 4 years.) I am always expected to teach the begginers. Which is really annoying because they don't listen. It's like teaching 5 year olds. if I seem crazy. It's just Rose and Kay.

Please forgive me some day......... So I've been selected to play in my city's Symphony Orchestra for this celebration in November..
I don't know if I should be excited or if I should be scared since this is such a prestigious honour *___* ......If I disappear completely without a trace

I love playing flute,so far,I'm the top flute player in my class. I don't like most of my section, but I have only one of friends also plays flute. I'm supposed to be tested on a song tomorrow to see if I can go to the upcoming concert in December 8th. xd

I heart playing flute right now, there is only one other girl who actually plays flute while everyone else plays piccollo. There are 2 really snobby girls in my section who think they know everything. Our band has been invited to play in Hawaii at the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. I think the funniest thing though is probably that my best friends are a pit player, a color guard, and the pit player's bf a sousaphonist(?)

I've played flute for 6 years and I guess I like it. Our band is a brass dominated band (b/c they are the only ones who can actually play) I'm a junior who never practices (lie: I practice once a month outside of school smile mainly because the music is really easy. No joke. I never practice and I've been 1st chair for all 6 years. But it really frustrates me because every year we get new flute players who have been doing this for at least 4 years, and they act like they've never picked an instrument up in their lives!!! Its really not that hard!! The last thing I want to rant about is that I believe next year our band is going to be really bad. Its like theres this generation gap. When I started HS band, all the players were very dedicated and talented. Then after my year, the new people who are coming in just don't care!! They can't play and they don't care to learn. Is this happening to anyone else or does my school just suck mellophones?

I'm playing piccolo for the second year in a row for my high school symphony band. Being placed on first piccolo for Alfred Reed's, "Russian Christmas Music," is there any advice from people out there who have played the piece and/or the part that they would like to share. I am as nervous as all get out because this is a very popular piece and heaven forbid I play something wrong. Please and thank you!

Our band is playing So much easier music because all of the people coming up do it to be with their friends and not because they like band. For the love of music, please don't be in band if you don't care, seriously. It's interesting to see, though, because we sometimes play older tunes for pepband and things. And seeing how many people can't play it always stuns me. So nope, it's not only you.
