"I don't get many letters." Pausing quietly for a moment before she explained it, "After all, how am I to read them? It's kind of a useless thing to do when it comes to me." Yes she could read as well it was just a hassel and quite the effort to do something that could and should be so simple for anyone. "Well, if anything it's another girl my mother can play with. Does her some good to help your mom and sisters out I think when she can." Quieting again but looking at him at his somewhat annoucement and further questioning. She wasn't exactly sure what he wanted her to say to that one so she opted for the other conversation point. "Well...not as stubborn. But close."
"You just haven't found yours yet, Treasure." Though she saw an opportunity to soothe this with similarities. "Well...the world is hardly fair dear, but just because you don't have your first parents doesn't mean you can't have more or that you have no family. I don't have my parents either, or my brother for that matter. But I still have a family and the like."

"I don't know. last I saw he was on the Gale Claw with Captain Nereem."
A light shrug and getting Hunter to a barrel to sit him on...before glancing over at the other.
"Maybe they took him out to the graves. I wouldn't be surprised if his parents were around here someplace."
After all, gold dragons especially just did not leave their young in the care of others. gold dragons were a breed apart, marked of distinct differences. even a silver might have trouble with raising a gold...and they were the closest thing to a cousin the golds had.
Hunter gave a look around...what the hell trying his new eye sight out some. see what he could see, so to speak.
"I don't see them. but then again even if I could, I probably can't becuase I don't know do to use your dragon vision. I know you can see much farther then I can."

"True..." He hadn't thought about that and it was rather easy to forget that she was blind sometimes. "Yes, it really is a shame your mother couldn't have anymore. Sometimes it feels like she should have had the fertility my mom does." Going back to his job with the scale and the blade. "You're more Inthara than you think because you're just like us."
He cried for a bit longer, keeping his head buried in Gem's shoulder and then glanced up at her. "Mine?" Sniffling as he was now intrigued. He'd never really considered the girls at the brother his family but maybe he could make another one his. "Yours died, too? I'm sorry." Wrapping his arms around her neck and nuzzling her cheek. "Did you cry?"

"No, I don't agree. I just happen to be the one that nature intended and messed up the way things were supposed to be." Shrugging lightly before shifting some as that noise of his started once more. "What do you mean by that?"
"Mhm. It's the way of the world. Sometimes we don't want it to happen when it does, but most times there is little that can be done about it. And yes, I did cry but you can only cry for so long before you have to turn your eyes away from the past." Nuzzling him back some.
Fellnathir gave a snort. "No one needs to be out there anyway. Not unless they have business instead of wandering around hoping to find someone. If they wanted to be found, they'd show themselves. Well, those that still can." Swishing her tail lightly. "It is all a matter of picking your focus and then your eyes will naturally adjust from there."

"Perhaps. It's not really for me to say anyway. I just know that my parents have had more kids than they ever planned on." He scraped a bit more of the scale off and then glanced up again. "Hm? Oh, just that you're far more stubborn than I am. You refuse to let anyone get the better of you either, Vryn. I admire that about you most, you know. I heard what you did to that a*****e in the tavern that time."
He understood what she was trying to tell him and was willing to at least consider it. "I still don't like it but you're smarter than me, Miss Gem and that's okay. I guess I have to say bye now, don't I?" Taking a deep breath and trying to be brave.

“Because your mother decides to stop drugging everyone randomly and we all know what happens after that.” Shaking her head and settling again where she was, letting her fingers play with the canvas of her hammock. “I can’t afford to let anyone get the better of me. The cost would be far too great.” Though a blink at him, as she could only think of the ‘no means no’ story she had told once when she was home. “Some people just don’t understand the meaning of no. Didn’t know you’d heard of that.”
“Yes dear, the best thing you can do is tell them goodbye and tell them that you’ll be just fine because you have plenty of people who are ready and willing to love you and take care of you. That would make them very happy.”

"One of her flaws. She gets into her baby mood and doesn't even consult my father and we all know he can just look at her and she's pregnant." Shaking his head at the irresponsibility of it all. Intharas were going to populate the Underdark if they weren't careful. That was one reason he'd gotten out. He reached into his knapsack and removed an apple, crunching into it. "They asked me to take you out."
He nodded bravely and stepped forward. It suddenly occurred to him that he should have brought flowers or something for his mother. She had liked those a lot, that much he remembered. But it was a bit late now and he needed to say goodbye. His hands found each other behind his back and he rocked on his heels as he thought of what he'd say
Taking a breath, he began, "Hi Momma and Daddy....I know you can hear me 'cause Misses Gem says you're always in my heart. I just want you to know that you don't have to worry about me and I'll be real brave. I will, you'll see. I'll always pick right and be nice to the dragons smaller than me and even some bigger than me, too. And I'll be real nice to Miss Jaebelltiah. She's real pretty, though not as pretty as you Momma. I think I love her and I think she loves me...she just doesn't know it yet. But Cap'n Gem and Mister Robbins loves me already. And I gots lots of people that are gonna take care of me just like the nice ladies at the house I used to live in. I'm a pirate now! A dragon pirate! So see? I'm gonna be just fine. So you two just stay here and rest in pieces, okay?"
Nodding to that, he turned back around to face Gem and Thobias. "Okay, we can go now. Can we find some flowers for Momma?"

"Well lets say for example..I wanted to see Gem. I don't know where she is to focus on her. even if your eyes can see her from here. and I imagine I can breath fire in some form or another...but is there anything I should be aware of that I can do before I accidentally make a huge mess out of everything?"
"Well most of that is locked in your dragonic form, lover."
She'd wanted to say hunter, but she was sure there was a nosy little star eyed woman just waiting for her to make that mistake to go on a tirade.
"Golds have more adept usage of magic, but I don't think it's anything you'll be able to access unless you get cornered or the like before learning how to work your new body."
glancing at the silver.
"Am I somewhat right here?"

A new smell and sound entered the air and her nose and ears twitched instinctively to try and figure it out. This time it was no question what he was doing; eating an apple. The smell was a familiar comfort to her. However a blink, "Who asked you to take me out...and by 'take me out' what exactly do you mean by that?" Becaues that meant several things.
"I...don't think there are any flowers here Treasure." Personally, Gem hadn't seen a surviving flower out in the sands in a few years. There were indeed rare sand loving flowers but most were only found sparsly in an oasis if you were lucky. Nowadays flowers only existed in carefully maintained pots. Water was hard to give to something one didn't need to live after all.
"But," Reaching around her neck and unhooking the latch of the gold necklace she was wearing, a large emerald pendant in the middle that was nothing to scoff at, "I know how you dragons adore shiny wonderous things. How about you give her this?" Holding it out to him.
"To find someone you can always try sniffing them out. However as for vision...once your eyes get used to rapid focus change then you will note the little things around you and how to focus your attention on them. It will become second nature soon. It's one of the first senses a dragonling masters as they live in almost total darkness for a while before they hatch." If anything he was at least willing to learn or appeared to be.
"Hm...that would be a concern since you are owner of a gold body now." Nodding to Des though at her own conclusion drawing. "We golds and silvers are not bound in our magics as others are. We can use it in both forms...though admittedly it is harder to control and even summon in these forms. Can be very overwhelming. Usually it is only triggered and use in survival or high stress situations just as Desdemona says." Tilting her head. "You won't be shooting fire from your nose or anything like that in this form...though I know not what Taerin did like this. It's almost differnt for all of us. Your own...white...apparently can produce ice fields." Tapping her talons some on the deck, "You may also have an element of second nature to you. Again, more common in metallics than the so called 'jewel' dragons."

He glanced up, chewing thoughtfully and then chuckled. "Kill you. It doesn't matter who asked. What mattered was their motivation for asking and the offense you were innocent or guilty of. I turned the job down and then went searching for the full story, just in case. Then I killed the one who'd asked."
His face fell when she told him there were no flowers. He should have known that but he remembered being in the midst of many of them. Perhaps it was a memory or a dream but he remembered his father presenting his mother with a tiny bud that she'd nurtured and coaxed until it finally bloomed. She'd been so happy... Cyv studied that pendant and gently took it into his now-clawed hands, tapping on it with knowing fingers. "It's very pretty. She thanks you."

"Oh." Well...that was weird. "Funny how fates intertwine, hm?" As per usual, his random killing didn't bother her in the least. Often the ones they both went after deserved it. Perhaps it was a moral alleviation to the negative light killing brought, not that she cared either way. Things lived, things died, and it just went on and on. "One less piece of scum in the world then."
"I do know that a woman always appreciate a pretty piece of jewelry." Waiting for him to give presents and say whatever it was he wanted to say before holding out a hand for him. "Come on now, it's getting rather cold out and I don't want you to frost up."

"Sniff them out. I'm a bloodhound now?"
A slight smirk and and glancing at Desdemona.
"Well...so as long as I don't do any sudden form changing things, I'm not going to accidentally blow things up. that's good to know. Now, about these wings. when am I going to be flying about?"
Desdemona grinned lightly.
"After you can walk without falling down or a rock tied to your tail, then we'll think about teaching you to fly. walk before you fly. I don't want you crash landing into a pile of quicksand or the like."

"Are you going to re-compare everything? You're a dragon now, you have the senses of one. Like it or not they hardly compare to any of your human ones. Better make fast friends with them. Rolling her eyes lightly as he started to get ahead of himself. "You'll find flying isn't as fun as you think it is when you first start. Most dragonlings are tired after a few feet and need a nap. You're much bigger and heavier. Besides...you really should learn to transform before you fly so you learn to fly with your full weight."

"Somewhat." He didn't tell her the rest of the story or how he'd followed her around for a bit to find out some things. She hadn't known he was there and he saw no reason to let her in on the fact now. "Just doing my job. That doesn't worry you at all, Vryn? I wasn't able to uncover everyone who was hunting you, you know."
He'd pretty much already said what he felt he needed to and, after setting the jewel down by his mother's grave, was ready to walk back with her. Taking her hand, he snuggled against her side and held out a hand to Thobias who flanked his other side. "I have more scales than you do so you'll get cold first."

"re-comparing gives me an idea of just how different things are, without having to run into problems too badly. we don't want me staring into space and not know why, or me sudden puking and not know why, either."
just pointing things out, and hopping off the barrel, taking little steps and walking a bit.
"see, I can walk. no prob--"
before falling flat on his face, his tail straight up before bending forwad and hitting himself on the head with the rock.
"I see that."
helping him back up on his feet and back on the barrel.
"now sit, and stay here for now."
