And may the odds be ever in your favor!

Darn, I was hoping my comment would get a response...oh well. I'll try it again later.

The comment is a quote from something, yes? I fail at recognizing where things are from. gonk If I had to guess, I'd say The Hunger Games, but it's been a while since I read them. xD

Yup! It's what Effie Trinket says ate every reaping.

Woohoo! I'm not completely incompetent after all!
Actually, in that context, the quote is very creepy. "May the odds be ever in your favor so you can brutally kill other children instead them killing you." Scary.

Indeed it is, but it's still funny to say it the way she does. That's why Katniss and Gale like to make fun of her by repeating it.

The emphasis on "ever" does add a weird sense of humor to the phrase. xD I wonder--what with the movie and all--if that saying is something that'll show up a lot in pop-culture. Of course, I'm assuming she says it in the movie.

I'm sure she does. I mean, it's the tagline of the movie from what I've seen of the previews. I've only read the trilogy, not seen the movie yet.

I've only seen one preview. Such is the life of a person who lacks cable and doesn't think to go onto Youtube and search previews out. But, yeah, I've only read the books, too (obviously), and I wasn't quite sure how I felt about them once I was done reading.
