Julianne spoke up, playing the knowledgeable acquaintance, saying, "He'll be hesitant, because he's so hyper-vigilant about his privacy. It'll take a little convincing, but if he feels your trust in your daughter might hang in the balance, he should come." Julianne took the opportunity to try to take some of the heat off of Rebecca and said, "I might come, too," turning towards Tommy and giving him a small smile. "You all are just so... inviting," she added, with just enough of a pause to MAYBE hint at suggestion.

The father sighed a bit, then turned and looked to his daughter.
"It's alright Dad, really." Rebecca said. "He honestly didn't like the idea that we were in so much debt to the Penguin. Especially if it meant the kids might have to help pay it off the minute they were able to work."
"I.... I still don't like it. Don't really trust people with so much money. You know that." he replied. His voice was a bit calmer though. He did trust his daughter... but it was... whoever this man was that he didn't trust.
Tommy, meanwhile, was more focused on Julianne. He'd seen the smile flashed at him, and... thought she might have been hinting at something. Wasn't sure though... so he tried to seem as though he didn't catch it. Just in case. Didn't want to flirt with her if she was just being friendly.
"Wouldn't mind seeing more of you here either." he said with a smile.
... that still sounded like flirting, didn't it? Oh hell that could really be taken the wrong way. Maybe it was just him though. His mind did tend to jump to conclusions sometimes.

"Sounds like we're on the same page, then," Julianne said, giving a little stretch; she really was a little tired (it had been a pretty big day), but the stretch also served to give Tommy a great view of her figure, clothed though it was. Amos might have had a good look at it in profile, too, but if he did, it wasn't intentional; just the view she was giving Tommy was.
Returning to a more relaxed, less revealing position, and after a quick wink to Tommy, she looked at Amos and said, "I'll talk him into coming out to meet you. I'll make it happen. You'll feel better once you meet him."

Tommy blinked once, then allowed a more obvious smile to cross his face. He'd caught on now, and it was clear that he'd caught on now. Looks like this day was turning out to be pretty good after all. Now if he could just... get a little more time to talk to her. Well, time not in front of the family or with Becca.
"Yes... I'd feel better if I could actually meet the man." the father replied. "I can wait as long as needed. I just..." he said and sighed. "Don't trust men with that much money and secrets."

"I'm sure he wouldn't blame you for not being very trusting," Julianne said, doing her best to not sound patronizing; no sense insulting them in their own home. She looked back at Rebecca's mom, who'd been silent for most of the conversation, and asked, "Do you need a moment to speak to Rebecca without me here?"

"Yes... if you don't mind." the mother replied.
"I'll wait with you outside if you want." Tommy offered. Trying not to sound too eager to see her out. "Rebecca has to get a ride home with you still, right?"
"Yeah. She was my ride here." Rebecca replied.

"That sounds great," Julie said, smiling at Tommy.
She got up, and said to Rebecca's parents, "In case I don't come back in, It's been lovely meeting you."

"You too." the mother replied.
Rebecca turned and gave Julie a small smile. "Might be a few minutes. I'll meet you at your car if my brother wears on your nerves."
"Pfft. Please. You make it sound as though I'm annoying." Tommy said with a grin as he began moving towards Julianne. He motioned her towards the door, and opened it for her as they got to it. Honestly... he didn't think he wanted to be part of this little conversation.

Julianne smiled at Tommy, this time a little more mischievously than she'd allowed herself to do earlier. "Thank you," she said, continuing as she walked out the door with, "Are you a car guy? If you are, I got a Ford Focus SVT out here you might like."

Tommy blinked again as he closed the door behind them. "Really? Most we have down here is the bus." he replied.

Julianne blinked as she walked down the stairs, putting just a little extra swing in her hips to get Tommy's attention. "Really? I hope my baby's not on blocks, then."

"Nah," Tommy said as he followed her down. His gaze fixed on the view he had in front of him. "Most you have to worry about is someone coming up to check out the rims on the car. Haven't had any break ins in a few years. Think the Bat took care of that group."

"Thank God for that," Julianne said, almost at the bottom of the stairs, "Because I didn't invest anything into special rims. Just the engine, a loud muffler, and good racing tires."

Tommy grinned a bit. "Racing tires, eh? Is that why the little guy was making race care noises and "driving" himself to his bed tonight?" he asked.

"That depends," she said, stopping at the door and turning to face him, "Did he drift into his room? Because if he did, yeah, that's on me."
