But he'd have to have an REF to do that, and he's never demonstrated himself to have one, and then, how would he travel between Tiers since nobody helps him?"

Joe smiled, conspicuously rubbing his nose, which was devoid of a scar. "Y'know, if you were just going to bring it back here, I needn't have brought it to you in the first place." He said it in a joking tone, however.

"Well, we didn't know Legion was about to make himself worse than Tyrg," she replied, rolling her eyes.
Cyrus glared at Joe from his one available eye. "And if someone hadn't gotten Tyrg's security worked up, we wouldn't have been caught in a tussle with twelve Tyrgani Marines in Sylph Armor and two Shadowmen."

((Not bothering, I distinctly remember because I was planning for this to happen to Rose and Cyrus if you made your escape messy from the very start of this arc.))
Rose shrugged. "Usually, a Reality Enforcement Field is generated by a state of mind - a way of thinking - as with the Shadowmen. The Clockwork Knights later discovered that their machinery generate REFs when complex mechanisms are working in tandem. Tyrg, somehow, managed to get the essence of an REF into a ******** liquid and mixed it with some HCl, some water, and a bit of something that fries all our analysis equipment.
