Actually, I can kind of understand that -- being afraid to pray aloud, that is. It's got little to nothing to do with prayer, and plenty to do with stage fright. That, I couldn't help you with -- it's not that I don't suffer from it, but I've always been the backwards type, rushing in where angels fear to tread, yet moving slowly into places others called safe. Best I can tell you is, be bold in the Lord.

As for not having much to say, well ... beef up what you're saying. I mean, if you want to pray for somebody who's sick, don't just say, "Lord, I pray for Lucy, she's sick" (seven words). Say, "Lord, Lucy has us worried because she's been sick for three days and can't work. Please heal her, Lord -- or, if that's not Your will, at least give her the strength to make it through and still rely on You" (forty words, almost six times as long). Just stop to think about what you're wanting and why you're wanting it, then say that.

Besides ... the more time you spend talking to God, the more time you spend talking to God, right?

But ... that's just my opinion.

That reminds me of my mom, or myself. I have begun to notice that a lot of females are afraid of cockroaches, rats, etc. My mom has never had a fear of those things and because of that, neither have I. Though while my mom is afraid of flying and driving along the edges of mountains (which was a slight problem as we were driving through Yellowstone) and my dad is afraid of heights (though he's a pilot), I am not afraid of heights and enjoy them very much. I guess it's due to my exposure of heights.

Good churches are hard to find. A lot of people just stop going to church based on one or two people in the congregation, and don't actually give it a chance.
