Chieftain Twilight Manguusu Chieftain Twilight Manguusu Chieftain Twilight hang in there, noble warrior of the peace era! (clearly not the shogun era, what with erry blossoms in the background). @ Sapph: heh.... I learned that wearing a miniskirt is not nearly as much fun as looking at someone else in one. @ Elta: this is why I'm a cat person. rolleyes The armor I'm wearing first appeared in the 10th century, but it didn't become widespread until the 12th; coincidentally, the shogunate was formed in 1192--the very end of that century. Cherry blossom viewing spread from the nobles to the samurai over a long stretch of time, but it took off with the commoners right around the time the eighth Tokugawa Shogun took power. He had large amounts of Cherry trees planted all over the place because of this. So to get to my point, This armor and scene could be from anytime between the late Heian Period to the early Meiji Era. That's a 700-year gap. hmm... well, I wasn't taking the style of the armour too seriously, given Gaia has limited options... but I didn't know Cherry Blossom viewing was popular among samurai during the Shogun Era. o.o Yup. The "Samurai Yoroi" items are based on the ō-yoroi (great armor) that your stereotypical samurai wore. In reality, it was a rich man's armor. The lower ranking warriors wore less detailed but aesthetically similar armor. Hanami, or flower-viewing, has been popular since 710 AD. Initially the flowers observed were ume, or "plum/apricot blossoms." Sakura caught on in 794. you realy know your japanese history, man! biggrin When I find something I love, I learn as much as I can about it. This is a double-dose of stuff I like; Japan and history. I blame the Asperger's for the obsessiveness. xp

Manguusu I don't feel like crap anymore. My lymph node's still large though. UPDATE: Doctor's appointment at 2pm. Can't wait to see what he says. *EDIT* More news, everyone! I'm being treated with antibiotics. And the doc took a sample from and abscess on the back of my head to make a culture of it. Just to make sure it's not MRSA! gonk I hope it's not.... (I don't think it is, it would be so much worse if it was)

Ehh.. MRSA isn't as bad as it was all hyped up to be... After dealing with it for so long that I forget sometimes how long I dealt with it, I finally realized that the doctors were doing the same thing they would for any infected abscess... Lance and drain... did more than all the antibiotics in the world in a shorter period of time... I got to where I was lancing myself and being better by the time a doctor's office could get me in... My particular strain is pretty much immune to everything now because of all the antibiotics that were thrown at it... but if I was just lancing and draining in the first place, I would have saved an a**-load of money, and probably would have been better sooner... Honestly though, I was just scared at those 4 upper-case letters before I wised up... I mean, when all you hear on the news at the time is an epidemic of medicine resistant staph, and then you wind up with it, while everyone is in panic, it's hard not to feel a bit scared... Once I dealt with it for so long though, it was hard not to get a bit tired of being scared. Then I felt a bit angry with myself for ever being scared. MRSA isn't the worst thing ever, as long as you do what you have to as soon as you realize that you need to do it.

MRSA isn't the worst thing ever, as long as you do what you have to as soon as you realize that you need to do it. Yeah, I'm not really afraid of it. The abscess on my head's tiny and it's been there for a month or two, at least. MRSA, if I had a serious infection with it, would have been so much worse by now; I haven't had a fever, cough, rash, chest pain, muscle ache, shortness of breath, chills, etc., so I know it's not a serious infection if it happens to be MRSA or even regular Staph. aureus. The only symptoms I have besides the abscess I thought was just a harmless pimple were malaise, nausea (which isn't listed as a MRSA symptom), and this wonderfully swollen lymph node; the antibiotics were prescribed mainly because of that.
